Isaiah 37

And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the Lord.

And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.

So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the Lord, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

And he heard say concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He is come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

11 Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?

12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Telassar?

13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?

14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.

15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,

16 O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

17 Incline thine ear, O Lord, and hear; open thine eyes, O Lord, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.

18 Of a truth, Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,

19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

20 Now therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord, even thou only.

21 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LordGod of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:

22 This is the word which the Lord hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

23 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

24 By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.

25 I have digged, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.

26 Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities into ruinous heaps.

27 Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

28 But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

29 Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

30 And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.

31 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.

33 Therefore thus saith the Lordconcerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.

34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.

35 For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

36 Then the angel of the Lord went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

38 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

  2. 35 For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

The LORD assures the church that the king of his World will not enter is city ( FORT WORTH ) or get near enough to attack it. God will defend the city and send back the invader the way that it came.

If we are not careful we can be a prisoner of our own words that we speak.
Intimidation begins to set in, doubt where you begin to question GOD, and fear that can paralyze your faith!
This is stinking thinking 💭 The enemy begins to use your mind as a merry-go-round. Spins you like crazy to get you out of the way as you lose your balance, focus, and faith.
Hezekiah found himself in the house of GOD A house of refuge and strength. You’ll always find protection and Devine guidance of The LORD when you seek Him with all of your heart ❤️. Continue to walk by faith and not by sight. Trust that you are in the will of GOD, and you shall see the salvation of The LORD JESUS thru all the chaos. You’ve seen His faithfulness in the past… HE WILL DO IT AGAIN and AGAIN!!!

“Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”

  4. 14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.
15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,
16 O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

If if we, Christians as a whole come only knew the power that God fully possesses and how unlimited and omnipresent he truly is then there is not a soul on this Earth that could compare to what God can do. We just taught our children and vacation bible school about this very lesson. Hezekiah knew something no one else did. He knew that he could bring his problems before God and lay them out and let God deal with him. The faith and Hope he had in the Almighty surpassed the strength that the Assyrians had in themselves. It is but nothing at all to bring our request before God and let him focus on the solution. No one had brought there problems before the Lord the way Hezekiah did and thus making the Assyrians believe that no God would rescue those they attacked. If we could only grasp how truly loving and powerful our God is. We would lay everything before his mighty throne

  5. 34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.

35 For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

36 Then the angel of the Lord went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

Hezekiah had become troubled by the enemy that was coming against Jerusalem. Sometimes when we that serve God we find that fear of the unknown is enough to drive doubt into our mind and heart. Even though the prophet had already stated that God would defend Jerusalem and the people, Hezekiah did what any Christian should do, and that is go directly to the source of mercy and grace, he began to seek God. When God surely states his word, it will never fail.

We have to practice in our spirits not to be consumed with fear and doubt because of rumors and gossip. If we don’t fact check it with the word of God, then we need to build up our defenses and the only way to do that is pray more and seek the face of God over our altars and not get up until we know for certain that God has spoken to us. The issues and things we put more of our time in will always take precedence.

  6. 28. But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

    29. Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

We often tell people that are struggling, “God knows right where you are.” And while that is very true, let’s not forget that God knows right where our enemy is, too! He knows where they live, where they’re going, their intentions, etc. When the time is right, He will prove once again that He still has all control and deal with them as He sees fit.

This is no time for fear
    This is a time
    For faith and determination
    Don’t lose the vision here
    Carried away by emotion
Hold on to all that you
    Hide in your heart
    There is one thing that
    Has always been true
    It holds the world together

    God is in control
    We believe that His children
    Will not be forsaken
    God is in control
    We will choose to remember
    And never be shaken
    There is no power
Above or beside Him, we know
    God is in control
    Oh God is in control

  7. Isaiah 37: 36 [ Amp] And the Angel of the Lord went fourth, and slew a hundred and eighty five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians; and when the living arose early in the morning, behold , all these were dead bodies.
In one night the Assyrians army is destroyed by a direct stroke from heaven.
Wow by only one angel of the Lord !
Mark 11: 24 For this reason I telling you , whatever you ask for in prayer, believe , trust, and be confident, that it is granted to you, and you will [ get it].
Jesus is a mighty God and has all power of of this earth.

  8. This is the Message translation…Finally, this is God’s verdict on the king of Assyria:

“‘Don’t worry, he won’t enter this city,
won’t let loose a single arrow,
Won’t brandish so much as one shield,
let alone build a siege ramp against it.
He’ll go back the same way he came.
He won’t set a foot in this city.
    God’s Decree.
I’ve got my hand on this city
    to save it,
Save it for my very own sake,
but also for the sake of my David dynasty.’”

36-38 Then the Angel of God arrived and struck the Assyrian camp—185,000 Assyrians died. By the time the sun came up, they were all dead—an army of corpses! Sennacherib, king of Assyria, got out of there fast, back home to Nineveh. As he was worshiping in the sanctuary of his god Nisroch, he was murdered by his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer. They escaped to the land of Ararat. His son Esar-haddon became the next king.

  11. “It is true, Lord, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed all these nations. And they have thrown the gods of these nations into the fire and burned them. But of course the Assyrians could destroy them! They were not gods at all—only idols of wood and stone shaped by human hands. Now, O Lord our God, rescue us from his power; then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you alone, O Lord, are God.”
    Isaiah 37:18‭-‬20 NLT

When we humble ourselves and pray, God takes over. He honors our efforts, our sacrifice, and our commitment. All we have to do is be willingnto surrender – not my will, but Thine be done!

  12. 14-20 NLT “After Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it, he went up to the Lord’s Temple and spread it out before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed this prayer before the Lord: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, you are enthroned between the mighty cherubim! You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone created the heavens and the earth. Bend down, O Lord, and listen! Open your eyes, O Lord, and see! Listen to Sennacherib’s words of defiance against the living God.“It is true, Lord, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed all these nations. And they have thrown the gods of these nations into the fire and burned them. But of course the Assyrians could destroy them! They were not gods at all—only idols of wood and stone shaped by human hands. Getting bad news or going through struggles is a part of life. Turn to the Lord in times of need. Take your burdens and place them at the feet of Jesus. He will carry you through.

God doesn’t “need” you. He WANTS you.
    He choose to use you!

He created the heavens and the earths alone, He is the King of all kings. But loves us so much that He wants us to participate in the Kingdom of God with HIM!

    Based on this verse.
Because of what this king did, the action he took
    I did the same thing.
I literally showed God what had happened and prayed and asked him to intervene.

15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,

Hezekiah received a letter of bad news, a threat, bad news. Hezekiah took the letter to the ALTAR and literally laid it on the ALTAR and began to PRAY these words:

Often in our natural mind we complicate PRAYER. However we learn here that when we PRAY simple words and definitive requests about specific needs are the example we follow. Choose today to PRAY instead of fret, worry or run. As we read in verses 21 – 38 the LORD answered Hezekiahs PRAYER.

I reckon that Assyrian feller wished he wouldn’t have been so prideful. That feller had hundreds of thousands of troops encamped against Judah and thought he would take the city, but the King and the Prophet in a spirit of humility defeated the pride of the pagan King.

All it took was an angel that went into the camp (that was filled with demons) to destroy 185,000 soldiers with ease.

With that being said, I feel sorry for folks who speak against the man of God. They are only one swoop away from destruction.

  17. And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

There is power is the remnant there is power in the little bit of faith you have. With little faith you can move mountains with little faith walls will fall down and be destroyed. When the devil try’s to break you down he try’s to kill and devour you all because if he leaves just a remnant it will bear fruit and multiply

  18. Isaiah 37
3 And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.

We must never give up ! There are children to be birthed and we must maintain our spiritual strength. We cannot plan the day of birth usually unless there is difficulties and the physician sets a date. Preparation for a new baby is necessary. Physically ,emotionally.
But there are more spiritual births coming and we must have the strength to labor in the spirit. We cannot wait til they walk into the labor room but we must make preparations now. This is truly what the church of the living God is supposed to be. Israel had walked away from their God they had no strength. There was a remnant left according to this scripture and Hezekiah was instructed to pray for the remnant that was left. We must never give up!

  19. 3 And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.

5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the Lord, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

7 Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

  20. 20 Now therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord, even thou only.

We need to shout from the mountain tops until the whole world knows who He is! It’s up to us, we were chosen!

  21. “By your messengers you have defied the Lord. You have said, ‘With my many chariots I have conquered the highest mountains— yes, the remotest peaks of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars and its finest cypress trees. I have reached its farthest heights and explored its deepest forests.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Anytime someone is to tell me they’re proud I turned my life I have to quickly assure them it wasn’t me that turned my life around it was Jesus. You see we can’t take the Glory from the Lord in situations like that. Your testimony will turn someone else’s life around. But it’s not because they’re inspired that you turned your life around because their faith has rose when you told him it was all God. They’re saying if he can do it for them he can do it for me.

  22. 32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.

The remnant – those that are remaining.

To be apart of the remnant that bears fruit, you have to be able to withstand the storm. Your relationship with Jesus has to be strong enough to endure through some tough situations.

  23. “They told me, “Hezekiah says, ‘Today we’re in great trouble. The Lord is warning us. He’s bringing shame on us. Sometimes babies come to the moment when they should be born. But their mothers aren’t strong enough to allow them to be born. Today we are like those mothers. We aren’t strong enough to save ourselves.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:3‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

As I read this passage it reminded me of the message “Pregnant with Revival”. My prayer is that as the spiritual mother of the harvest, that we are strong, focused and Souled out to Christ. Lord, let our hearts be ready for the harvest.

  24. Isaiah 37:14-15
    14) And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
    15) And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying,…

As I read these scriptures, I was reminded of an hymnal song… “What A Friend We Have In JESUS.”
After receiving troubling news, a letter – phone call – text message – etc…, how often do we carry around needless pain, are discouraged, are weak and heavy laden, carry a load of care around, when all we have to do is go before the Altar and “Take It To The LORD In Prayer.”

What A Friend We Have In JESUS. We don’t have to carry Anything around anymore. When we Take It To JESUS In Prayer, HE will take us in HIS arms and Shield us. HE will give us Strength, Peace, Comfort, and whatever else we need.

    Thank You JESUS!
What A Friend We Have In YOU, JESUS. YOU are So Faithful!!

  25. 14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.

Hekeziah did what we all should do. When trouble is in our way, we should take the situation to the Lord and call upon Him for wisdom and guidance. As he sought God for direction, God spoke to Prophet Isaiah and told him what to speak. God will do the same for us.

If we take it to God in prayer, and then wait for the answer to come, which is challenging at times, God will speak to us through His word, or to our Shepard, or to someone that our Shephard trusts to speak to us with that wisdom. Don’t allow just anyone to speak into your life.

We are instructed to know them that labor among us, if that individual is not known by our Shephard, our Bishop, men of God we trust. If Hezekiah had listened to the men that came instead of taking the issue before the Lord, the Assyrian King would have overtaken Hezekiah and his people.

  26. Isaiah 37:16,20
[16]“O  lord of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, you are enthroned between the mighty cherubim! You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone created the heavens and the earth.
[20]Now, O  lord our God, rescue us from his power; then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you alone, O  lord, are God.”

    You’re my Jehova Jireh
    You’re my Jehova Nisi
    You’re my Jehovah Elion
    You alone are God
    You are God alone
    For you alone are God
    For you are God alone
    For you alone are God
    For you are God alone

  27. 19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
20 Now therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord, even thou only.

When we earnestly seek the Lord, we will be spared from the deception of worshiping false idols.

  28. The Living Bible
    vs-1
When King Hezekiah herd the results of the meeting he tore his robes and wound himself in coarse cloth used for making sacks as a sighn of humility and mourning and went over to the temple to pray.
Now sackcloth was something that they put upon themselves to more or less afflict themselves. It was whenever you were in mourning you would put on sackcloth. Sackcloth as you can well imagine against the skin must be very irritating . And so the King himself put on sackcloth and he went to the house of the Lord.

  29. 34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.
35 For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

God is keeping a promise and not necessarily one made to Hezekiah. God is a promise keeper & way maker and he will do just as he has spoken. Hold on to the promises of God because he WILL make a way.

  30. 38 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

When we come to the house of the Lord church we should be ready to worship and respond to the Word!

  31. “When King Hezekiah heard their report, he tore his clothes and put on burlap and went into the Temple of the Lord. And he sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, all dressed in burlap, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz. They told him, “This is what King Hezekiah says: Today is a day of trouble, insults, and disgrace. It is like when a child is ready to be born, but the mother has no strength to deliver the baby. But perhaps the Lord your God has heard the Assyrian chief of staff, sent by the king to defy the living God, and will punish him for his words. Oh, pray for those of us who are left!” After King Hezekiah’s officials delivered the king’s message to Isaiah,”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:1-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Hezekiah’s initial reaction is good. He sees the situation for what it really is. Often, when we are in some kind of trial or difficulty, we handle it poorly because we never see the situation accurately. Jerusalem’s situation is desperate, and Hezekiah knows it.

  32. 14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.

15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,

Hezekiah did the right thing by going to the lord and asking for help from him. The enemy had blasphemed against God and his people. That is a dangerous thing to do. God avenged his name and delivered Jerusalem. People may blaspheme and mock us but God will avenge his own.

  33. 16 “O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth. 23 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:16, 23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

For 16 God made everything and we need to exalt him for that. He is Jesus the lord our savior and we need to treat him with love and the upmost respect.

For 23 Whom have we lifted high you ask? We have lifted Jesus high and we will lift him higher and higher. Whom have we lifted our eyes at you ask? We have lifted our eyes high on Jesus.

    JESUS LOVES YOU!!!

  34. 19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

  35. 5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

To Fight God it’s like punching in the air for God is the King of kings and the Lord of lords and besides him there is no other.

  36. 6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the Lord, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

There is no reason to fear that he enemy when God is on your side. We stand bold and strong on the Lord’s side. Whatever the enemy sends our way, we have the power over it. Let’s stand tall and be who God called us to be.

  37. 10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding proverbs 3:5

  38. 10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding proverbs 3:5

  39. 16 O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

This verse was Hezekiah’s prayer unto God. I think the type of prayer this was was an exalting prayer. He was saying that He is the Lord of host who hath made the heavens and the earth. Sometimes our prayers should be exalting His name. I pray tonight that we are considering His name always as we live to lift only Him up!!!

  40. “Now, O Lord our God, rescue us from his power; then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you alone, O Lord, are God.””
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There will always be one true God, and that is the God that we serve. I pray that we use our testimonies from what God has each saved us from we go out and reach out to the lost telling them how he did it for you and he can do it for them. The Lord will always save us from our enemies he will protect us over anything. Let us show the world who our one true God is, and give him the praise and thanks every single day that he blesses us with.

  41. “the prophet replied, “Say to your master, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not be disturbed by this blasphemous speech against me from the Assyrian king’s messengers.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Don’t let the words of the world peer pressure you into doing sin. Listen to Gods words and have daily prayer. By doing this refills our fire or faith.

  42. 7 Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

The enemy will always have something to say… but as we see in verse 7 the word of the Lord will come like a firey sword and show what the true power is .

The enemy will listen to the word of the lord and understand it and fully believe it because he knows who God is and even the devils tremble!

Never discount the word of the Lord!

  43. God has a power and potential that is immeasurable. God made us to be followers, to be his friends. So let’s follow that.

  44. 6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the Lord, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

Never be afraid of the situation you face God is greater. Take that situation into prayer and see God give you victory because he loves his children. You will see the situation be smote before you just like he did here for Hezekiah. This is how we fight our battles! Hallelujah!! God Is Good!!
    Thank You Jesus!

  45. Isaiah 37

19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hand’s: of wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

Jesus is the only true God. Not wood, stone, nor anything made by man, is godly. We must trust in our God, not man. Jesus, we can trust. Man, not so much!
Thank you for this day Jesus.

  46. “One day while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with their swords. They then escaped to the land of Ararat, and another son, Esarhaddon, became the next king of Assyria.”
    Isaiah 37:38 NLT

What God has ordain will come to pass. God is the creator and the finisher of all. We the people of God have had enough of king of Assyria=enemy and we must ask God for deliverance. Lets us make it know to our enemies enough is enough and let God have his way.

  47. And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. Then Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, saying: “O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.
    Isaiah 37:14‭-‬17 NKJV

The God that answers prayer. Where do you go for help? What is that first reaction? Where do you go present your troubles? When the enemy rose up with threats the first action of Hezekiah the kind was that he went to the house of the the Lord.

This chapter reads that he covered himself in sackcloth and went to the house of the Lord. That is a sign of humility. A cry of help. I am not self-sufficient but I need the power of One mightier recognizing his dependence on God. This approach is surely to get the Lord’s attention. This approach let’s God know that I can’t do it on my own strength. I’m weak, I may he scared, I may be faint or hurt, but I know the One who can will do something about it. I humble myself. I decrease that you, Lord, may increase.

Then the next step was to go to the man of God. It would be wise for us to take notice. Then the man of God gives assurance that God will deliver.

The fight didn’t end there. More threats more attacks. It was a matter of personal faith now. Yes we can always go to the man of God for guidance but there comes a time where we have to get all real with a God that has All Power. He went directly to prayer to the house of the Lord and poured out his heart in prayer.

What follows is again confirmation and assurance and God taking action. We can learn so much and take these same steps from a kind that did what was right before the Lord.
First go to God. Go to his house
    Second humble yourself
Third listen for the words of the man of God.
Then go to God again and pray…

  48. 3 They told him, “This is what King Hezekiah says: Today is a day of trouble, insults, and disgrace. It is like when a child is ready to be born, but the mother has no strength to deliver the baby.
    Isaiah 37:3 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/isa.37.3.NLT

This makes me think of the harvest. And I’m so grateful for a God who is strengthening and readying His Church for the harvest. Readying every class, every aspect so that the Church will be strong enough to withstand the beautiful and glorious pains of labor and delivery for bringing new babies into the Kingdom. Jesus We bless and praise Your Holy Name!!

  49. “the prophet replied, “Say to your master, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not be disturbed by this blasphemous speech against me from the Assyrian king’s messengers.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You can’t believe what the world is saying. You can’t entertain yourself with the things of the world. You must know the truth for yourself and stand by the truth. No matter what you should never fall from the truth.

  50. 23 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

  51. Isaiah Chapter 37

38 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son

We are his children and what is a king who walks in pride and arrogance? He is nothing in the sight of God. Even only one angle wiped out the whole army. Even his off spring killed their father. When we feel small the greater is inside of us. We are to look up from which our help comes from.

  52. 4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.

    Pray for the remnant!

The words of other and the intentions of others can cause those that will come after us to fight new giants. It’s important that we pray for them and teach them how to fight on their knees and with the Word of God.

  53. 33 Therefore thus saith the Lordconcerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.

  54. “the prophet replied, “Say to your master, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not be disturbed by this blasphemous speech against me from the Assyrian king’s messengers.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:6‬ NLT
Do not fall into the temptation of the people and know the truth and only the truth

  55. 15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,

16 O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

For the god we serve made the heaven and the earth and you shall always pray unto him because if it were not for him we would not be here

  56. 19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

If thy person have gods of gods man made thy shall be Destroyed In a fire and be casted away.

  57. “Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭37:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes we just need to take that bad report and lay it out before God. Only he can soften the heart of man. Only he can change circumstances.

  58. 14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.

The first thing we should always do, but most commonly gets missed, is carry all things to Jesus. Only he can read man’s intentions. He can lead us, and will lead us rightly.

  59. Verses 26-27 “‘Haven’t you gotten the news that I’ve been behind this all along? This is a longstanding plan of mine and I’m just now making it happen, using you to devastate strong cities, turning them into piles of rubble and leaving their citizens helpless, bewildered, and confused, drooping like unwatered plants, stunted like withered seedlings.” God always has his plan and we must trust in Him.

  60. 34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.
35 For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

Don’t worry about your enemies and those that may come against you. For they will leave your life the way they came into your life if God has anything to do with it! He is fighting for us and will defend us!! He’s Alpha and Omega and will always win!!
