Isaiah 38

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,

And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,

Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;

Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:

10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

11 I said, I shall not see the Lord, even the Lord, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

13 I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O Lord, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.

16 O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.

17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.

20 The Lord was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the Lord.

21 For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.

22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the Lord?

  2. “Isaiah had said to Hezekiah’s servants, “Make an ointment from figs and spread it over the boil, and Hezekiah will recover.””

  3. 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
    7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;

MY GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! WHAT HE SAYS HE WILL DO IS DONE ALREADY!!! HE ALWAYS MAKES A WAY!!!

  4. “The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.”
    tell people Gods word !!

  5. “For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise. Those who go down to the grave can no longer hope in your faithfulness. Only the living can praise you as I do today. Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:18-19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

While you are on this earth you should give him your all. Praise him daily with all that you have. It doesn’t matter what you are going through or how hard it may seem keep lifting him higher.

  6. 18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

How many have gone to the grave without knowing The ONE TRUE LIVING GOD! They might have heard of HIM but maybe didn’t have a relationship with HIM. POFW IS A PLACE OF HEALING FOR THE SICK, REFUGE FOR THE WEARY, FREEDOM FOR THE BOUND!!! WE ARE POFW !!! FOR NOT IF , BUT WHEN you see us you will have seen JESUS!!! That is my goal!!! EVERYDAY!!! EVERY HOUR!!! EVERY MINUTE OF THESE BEAUTIFUL DAYS!!!

  8. 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,

3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,

5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

When you go into prayer into the lord he. Shall provide you with a answer and respond to you especially if you have always try to walk in his path but thy shall always wait for the answer evan if it takes a bit because he has plans for you and the answer might not come in prayer but someone god put in your life and trust that God will always be there for you.

  9. “Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, and said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sometimes we just have to put our faces toward the wall and start to pray. Sometimes we have to remind him what he promised us. But we will never give up and say I can’t go on because god forgot what he promised me. Sometimes we have to tell him what we have done because we feel like he didn’t remember what we have done that is good in the sight of god for his kingdom. Sometimes we just have to weap to feel better about what we need.

    JESUS LOVES YOU!!!

  10. “Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live! Yes, this anguish was good for me, for you have rescued me from death and forgiven all my sins.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There will be many ways Jesus will sit you down to grab your attention and speak to you. It may be through dreams or through a man of GOD. As we see The LORD JESUS remains faithful to all that are called of Him.

“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:9

  11. 3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

God resist the proud grace to the humble. God is attracted to humility and people’s face are bowed down to him. Hezekiah did not ask for 15 more years of life. He just worship the Lord in humility. God is drawn to his people and they humble themselves and a manner of gratefulness.

  12. 11 I said, I shall not see the Lord, even the Lord, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world

  13. 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

That God’s promises are intended not to supersede, but to quicken and encourage, the use of means. Hezekiah is sure to recover and yet he must take a lump of figs and lay it on the boil, verse 21 we do not trust God but tempt him if when we pray to him for help, we do not second our prayers with our endeavors.
That the chief end, we should aim at, in desiring life and health is that we may glorify God, and do good, and improve ourselves in knowledge, and Grace, and meekness for heaven

  14. God is so good and faithful. I love Pofw. LIVEJESUSGIVEJESUS2. “Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,

5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.”
WOW look how good our God is. This is how he rewards his good and faithful servants!

  15. 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,

5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

Sometimes when we ask God for things in our life, we kinda side step exactly what we need. Hezekiah began to petition God for life and while pleading for more life God heard his cry and granted him 15 more years. Even on your death bed God will hear the cries of his children, especially those that have served him diligently and stayed the faith.

I ask this morning what will it take to ask Gid of what you need, not want, but sincerely need in your life right now. Have you been faithful to God through this trial or are you simply going through the motions. We have a tendency to under estimate the power of God. With everything going on in the world the church folk need to rebuild or repair their altars and bow before them to get God’s attention. I would hate to see anyone trying to beg for more life on their death bed. It’s time to rebuild the relationship with God now while their is time.

  16. Only the living can praise you as I do today. Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.
    Isaiah 38:19 NLT

We are alive in Him and He deserves our praise! As we pick up and carry the torch from our elders, we continue to press on in the gospel. We cannot keep this good news to ourselves!

  17. 4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,
5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:

God hears the prayers of the righteous and he can do anything that is asked in prayer. Nothing is too hard for God creator of heaven and earth.

  18. 18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
Put your hope and trust in the Lord. Praise Him while you still have breath to do so. Once you take your last breath it will be to late.

  19. 3 and said remember now Lord I beseech thee how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart and have done that which is god in thy sight and Hezekiah wept sore.
    —-
    Hezekiah cried very hard
    Hezekiah wept greatly …

It’s ok to cry unto the Lord, it’s ok to cry as much as needed, it’s ok to cry until….
Hezekiah seeked the Lord in prayer( with much distress and countless tears…)
Hezekiah nocked at heavens door and kept knocking until hearing something..
And thankfully PRAISE GOD that door was open
    God is faithful, hallelujah.

    This poor man cried
    And the Lord heard him
    And saved him from
    All his troubles.
    Hallelujah 🙌

  20. “But what can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God sometimes allows things to happen that we would not choose. It is our decision what our attitude will be like. We can take an attitude of being a victim or we can take an attitude of victory. While it might not be something that I can achieve all the time, I try my hardest to be in victory the whole time. Yes, bad things happen, but God will never leave us.

  21. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    RESPONDING TO BAD NEWS

2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,

For the 2nd time Hezekiah is presented with BAD NEWS and responded with PRAYER. In the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses every word is established. Hezekiah PRAYED 2 times in response to BAD NEWS and this caused me to reflect on how I have responded to BAD NEWS in my life. Our natural, human, carnal response is to be offended or angry at the BAD NEWS. But we learn from Hezekiah our best response is PRAYER.

Isaiah 37:14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.
15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,

During seasons of REVIVAL such as we are BLESSED with now at The POFW we will experience some BAD NEWS and just as with Hezekiah and this chapter it may come 2 days in a row. BUT we know how to we should be RESPONDING TO BAD NEWS.

    PRAYER

There are Miracles, Signs and Wonders in the atmosphere waiting to be claimed as we SEEK and PRAY to our Lord JESUS for relief, answers or deliverance. Don’t get mad, don’t get even, don’t get offended: PRAY.

  22. Isaiah 38 : 4-5 (Amp) Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying.
    (5) Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus says the Lord
the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears , Behold, I will add to your life fifteen years.
The Lord make poor and makes rich; He brings low and he lifts up.
Give and be blessed in Jesus name.
1 Sam. 2:8 He raises up the poor out of dust, and lifts up the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with the noble, and inherit the throne of glory, For the pillars of the earth are the Lord”s and He had set the world upon them.

  23. 20 Think of it—the Lord is ready to heal me! I will sing his praises with instruments every day of my life in the Temple of the Lord.
    Isaiah 38:20 NLT

Jesus!! We receive Your Healing today! We receive the deeper bonds of love You want to take us to today! I will sing Your praises today! Hallelujah!!!

  24. 4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,

5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

    7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;

  25. 4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,

    7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;

  26. 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
    7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;
8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

Hezekiah wept and prayed and God not only answered his prayer with more years but also promised to save this nation from Assyria. God performed a miracle as the sign that he would do as he said: he backed up the sun by 10 degrees! In Joshua 10:12-14 Joshua asked for the sun to not go down over Gideon. God can do anything! He can do more than we could ask or think. We can trust him with our most dire of needs! Thank you Jesus for your promises are true!

  27. Isaiah 38:19
Only the living can praise you as I do today. Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.

Everybody needs to hear the gospel and about God’s great faithfulness.

  28. 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,

3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,

5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

God had a positive record for Hezekiah’s life of all that he had done, and was willing to not only extend his life for 15 years, but also deliver the city out of the hand of the king, but also defend his city.

What record would God see if the same message came to me today? How about you today? Would there be enough evidence of a Christ-like life on file for us that God would add years to our lives? Would there be enough evidence of prayer, fasting, word/worship and outreach, soulwinning, that it would profit the Kingdom of God to keep us around another 15 years?

Sobering thoughts. If our answer is I don’t know or maybe, we have time to change the profile of our lives, beginning today. Be about the Father’s business, and He will be about our business.

  29. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2

This is an amazing chapter for many reasons.
*It shows the love of God that hears the prayer of his people. Think about this for a minute. What if Hezekiah would have just accepted the fact it was Gods will for him to die. The prophet told him he would die. The prophet is Gods mouthpiece so you could say, “well, it’s Gods will for me to die can’t nothing change that”. That’s simply not true. There are people who die all the time but it wasn’t Gods will for them to die. People simply die and it’s not because God wanted them up there with him…they just died…and that is ultimately Adams fault from the garden. It wasn’t Gods will for Cain to kill Abel, but he died. The point is, we are here on this earth where death is present. Everyone is appointed to die, but through prayer God can intervene and deliver us from that appointment if we now how to reach him in faith.

  30. 17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.

As long I have breathe I will keep praising the Lord he deserves all of the praise he has done so much for all of his children! God Is Good!
    Thank You Jesus!!

  31. Isaiah 38

15 But what can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish to my soul.

We have repeated images of judgement and on coming doom in Isaiah. We also are assured that God is committed and keeps his covenant promises to Abraham and David. Jesus is so wonderful. We as his children must repent daily, pray and try to spread Gods word.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  32. Isaiah 38:2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,

Psalm 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Thank God he sees our tears and saves us as long as we walk in truth.

  33. 19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
We see Hezekiah’s healing and his vow to praise God the rest of his life.

  34. And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore

When was the last time we wept sore for a soul when was the last time we wept sore for this city. If we want to change this city we need to weep sore for it we have to get on our knees and present ourselves as a living sacrifice and build up and Alter to God!

  35. Isaiah 38:20 (MSG)
God saves and will save me.
As fiddles and mandolins strike up the tunes,
We’ll sing, oh we’ll sing, sing,
For the rest of our lives in the Sanctuary of God.

JESUS today YOU will SAVE me!
And I will Sing. Yes, I will Sing, Sing for the rest of my life to YOU.

    Ephesians 5:19-20
    19) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
    20) Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  36. The Living Bible
    vs-3
Hezekiah is sick and prayed to the Lord
O Lord dont you remember how true i have been to you and how i have always tried to obey you in every thing you said? Then he broke down with great sobs.
Then in vs-20 Hezekiah was healed
Think of it ! The Lord healed me! Every day of my life from now on I will sing my songs of praise in the temple accompanied by the orchestra.
I think vs-20 is a great example how we should live our christian walk with the Lord. Either when things or going good or things or going not so good sick family problems ECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We should always worship and praise the Lord for everything in our life.

  37. 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

Hezekiah was a young man at this time, perhaps in his thirties. I can see why he would not want to die. It would seem that he would be cheated out of part of his life. But, God knew best. Yes, it seems like a wonderful thing that God extended his life for 15 more years. But, in those 15 years Manasseh was born to Hezekiah and he became a wicked king over Judah. We are wise to follow God’s plan, it is always the best.

  38. Isaiah 38

Hezekiah recognized he was oppressed during his illness . Yet his faith in God soared with great confidence that God was hearing his prayers .
Depths of Despair yet Prayer brought him out and God restored him . No matter what situation we find ourselves in we can have this reassurance that God can bring us right up out of oppression and depression. How beautiful during low times we have a Savior who reaches down and brings us right out of what we think will literally kill us. Prayer changes things !

    Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  39. Isaiah Chapter 38

20 The Lord was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the Lord.

Praise starts with a thankful heart. Allow me to walk with you and see and understand the benefits that type of heart. Did you exclaim Oh Lord it’s morning. With a furrowed brow and no smile on your face. As you say I want two more hours of sleep. The I took front and center of our new day. We are acting as though we are number one and in charge. Yet we understand that is a lie. Jesus said Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. As I get older the greater I understand that I am His child.

Now let us start our day that right way. Oh Lord it’s morning and I thank you.
Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it or Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things in him that strengthens me. Let us understand that We can do all things in Jesus..

  40. 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

The Lord knows what we have need of. The Lord has commanded us to pray. Our God is a good God and prayer does change things.

  41. 20 The Lord was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the Lord.

Amen! the lord is always so good to us so we should always give him the highest praise!!

  42. Verses 4-6 MSG “Then God told Isaiah, “Go and speak with Hezekiah. Give him this Message from me, God, the God of your ancestor David: ‘I’ve heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Here’s what I’ll do: I’ll add fifteen years to your life. And I’ll save both you and this city from the king of Assyria. I have my hand on this city.” God hears our prayers, understands our tears and has His mighty hand upon us.

  43. 7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;

God stands by his word. Whatever he speaks, it will happen. There is no situation that God cannot solve. By his power, all things are possible. His word is the foundation that, we stand on. No matter what the enemy sends our way, we can be victorious.

  44. “Go back to Hezekiah and tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will add fifteen years to your life,”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our faithfulness unto the Lord will always be noticed and we are blessed because of it. As we continue to live a life for the Lord, yes we will go through many things that we will struggle with but do not give up for God hears your cry’s out to him and he has given you the power to overcome any battle and any situation. I pray that we believe and have faith in God no matter what, for the everlasting life after this with God will be wonderfully amazing! Remember you are not alone in your battles for God is with you lifting you up and shining his light on you.

  45. 6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

“And we will take this city.” That was a verse from a song that we sing that really stuck out to me. In the verse that I put above it said that and I will defend this city. Think about it what are you doing to help and or save this city. We must spread His word all over so that we can all make it to the same place! It hurts my heart to know that they are millions of people that don’t know God, don’t expect Him, or don’t know Him in the correct manner. It is our responsibility to make sure that we are bringing the lost into the church so that we can all be saved! I pray tonight that you ✨REACH OUT✨ to the lost so we can grow as a church in only ✨ONE✨ name which is ✨JESUS✨

  46. Did God forget??

3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

God never forgets or loses track of what we do for his Kingdom. Sometimes, however, he lets us recount the things we have done, the victories and the things we have overcome so that we can reset ourselves in the good things of the Lord. Whenever you are feeling down in the dumps, drag out the file of what God has done in your life and let it encourage you. Go’s has done great things through us, let us build and add to those things.

  47. A lack of praise

19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.

When we live our lives with a lack of praise we must consider how alive we are in Christ. This is true for every area and season of our lives. You see if there is a area of our life or a season of our lives that we can’t find anything to praise God about there is some lack of spiritual life there. If we can’t find a reason to praise in the storm it could be we are walking through the storm in our flesh. The same is true on the mountain top. If we are walking in the favor of God on the mountain and we fail to praise we must consider our spirit. We are not worthy of the favor but through Jesus Christ we are deserving of it.

  48. 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

  49. 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death.

    PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!!!

Never tell someone that the least that they can do is pray. Prayer is one of the best things we can do, or someone else can do for us. It takes faith to pray and ask, and when faith is mixed with action, Jesus moves mountains.

  50. “Only the living can praise you as I do today. Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Generation after generation the praises still go up! Thank you Jesus for youth and young adults of this generation and the generations to come that choose to worship, choose to praise, and choose to lead.

  51. “Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

To test faith you need discipline. Restore your faith in the Lord. Praise him during your test, to grow your faith and promises.

  52. 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

What would you do if you knew exactly how many days you had left in this earth ? Beside the marvelous wonders that God did in sign for Hezekiah, and the most honest and heartfelt prayer…what would one do with this kind of information?

I am reminded immediately of psalm 90 how it talks about life and the number of our years and how our days are consumed.

What stands out the most is the wisdom shared by the psalmist and the petition in prayer which reads like this:

So teach us to number our days, That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
    Psalm 90:12 KJV

Every day counts. Everyday you wake up you have first a blessing to be alive, then an opportunity and option a choice. In economics it’s called opportunity cost; the loss of potential gain from other alternatives when one alternative is chosen. What will you do? May we petition to apply our hearts unto wisdom. May we use our time wisely. May we do his will, may we seek his kingdom, but above all may we just be in his presence.

And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
    Luke 10:39‭-‬42 KJV

One thing is needful… be in his presence and hear his word.

  53. wept sore.

    7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;

  54. 1. In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

    2. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,

    3. And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

    What a blessed gift!
To be given a warning and the time to get your house in order before you die!
But when you think about it, all of us who have heard Truth have been given the warning that our time here is short and we could be called away at any time, and we have the opportunity right now to get our houses in order before it’s too late.
And I believe that it’s because he had already been walking upright with God that he was not only granted more time, but God also delivered his city from the enemy – a life lived for God has more benefits that we even realize!

  55. 3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

Could you say the same?? “. . . I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight.” I strive to live a life that is right and seen as right in the eyes of the Lord!

4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,
5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

He see our tears, He has heard our cries, and He will intervene on our behalf. He will come in time to take care of every need and make the change we need. It always reminds me of that old times song that says, “He may not come when you want Him, but He’ll be there right on time. He’s an on time God, yes, He is.”

… He’s an on time God, yes he is, oh, oh, oh
(On time God, yes he is)
    Job said
(He may not come when you want him)
    But he’ll
    (Be there right on time)
    I’ll tell you
(He’s an on time God, yes he is)
