Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

  1. Verses 1-3 VOICE “The Spirit of the Lord, the Eternal, is on me. The Lord has appointed me for a special purpose. He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to repair broken hearts, And to declare to those who are held captive and bound in prison, “Be free from your imprisonment!” He has sent me to announce the year of jubilee, the season of the Eternal’s favor: for our enemies it will be a day of God’s wrath; For those who mourn it will be a time of comfort.[a] As for those who grieve over Zion, God has sent me to give them a beautiful crown in exchange for ashes, To anoint them with gladness instead of sorrow, to wrap them in victory, joy, and praise instead of depression and sadness. People will call them magnificent, like great towering trees standing for what is right. They stand to the glory of the Eternal who planted them.” We too have a special purpose to share and bring good news to this city. Deuteronomy 6:18-19 ERV “You must do what is right and good—what pleases the Lord. Then everything will go well for you, and you can go in and take the good land that the Lord promised your ancestors. And you will force out all your enemies, just as the Lord said.”

  2. 7 Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.
8 “For I, the Lord, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them.
    Isaiah 61:7‭-‬8 NLT

Sin has a certain way of working in our lives when we let it in. First it comes like nothing harmless and will walk with you hand and hand. Sin will begin to take you places you’ve never bin, it will make you hurt and destroy people that you love and it will drag you through the mud. When the light is shined upon it, it leaves you with a mess to clean up. Sin will leave you with shame and dishonor. Always pointing the finger at your and accusing you for what you have done.

Thankfully there is Someone that has always bin with us also and His name is Jesus. He doesn’t condone you or accuse you. He gives you freedom and deliverance. He lifts you up not put you down. He restores and redeems. He will give you peace and joy. He is faithful and well give you a double portion of blessing. Only if we take action and come to His feet with an open and humble ourselves to Him.
There is nothing to great or small that Her can’t Handle. He can do anything, and if He can do it for me. He can do it for you.

  3. 6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Of course we are not all called to be preachers or evangelist, we’re not all called to the Western idea of being a minister but we are all called to serve in the kingdom of God. As children of God we are inheritors of the the benefits of being a son of God. Each person has their calling for what God intended them to be or to do. Our idea and goal should be to find out specifically what it is that we are all called for.

  4. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

I don’t ever want to forget what You brought me from. I was almost destroyed by the world and the sin I was trapped in. You picked me up, cleaned me, placed the garments of praise, salvation, and righteousness on me. You anointed me with the oil of joy. You made me Yours. I became Your bride. You brought me an inconceivable amount of love and healing. You brought me peace. I am Yours. Forever my King.👑

  5. “I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels. The Sovereign Lord will show his justice to the nations of the world. Everyone will praise him! His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring, with plants springing up everywhere.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Righteousness is a gift from God to all who believe. Praise is our sacrifice to God. Being assured of salvation in the name ofJesus is enough to cause praise to burst forth from our lips. One plants the seed, another waters, but God gets the increase.

  6. 10 NLT “I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.”

‭‭When God dresses you with clothes of righteousness & salvation you must conform to His ethical and moral standards. Micah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭NKJV “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NKJV “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

    ‭‭

  7. “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Even when we feel empty, this scripture reminds us of what God has given us. He’s given us the freedom to greatly rejoice in Him. He’s given us the freedom to have joy. He’s gifted us with the garments of salvation and robe of righteousness. And not only did He give it to us He has already put them on us! So Hallelujah to the One that reminds us that even when we feel ‘down’, He has given us His glory which we cannot take off.

  8. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Hallelujah!! What A Mighty God We Serve! I will continue to rejoice and praise the Lord because he is worthy.
    Thank You Jesus!

  9. 1-7 The Spirit of God, the Master, is on me
    because God anointed me.
He sent me to preach good news to the poor,
    heal the heartbroken,
    Announce freedom to all captives,
    pardon all prisoners.
God sent me to announce the year of his grace—
a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies—
and to comfort all who mourn,
To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion,
give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes,
Messages of joy instead of news of doom,
a praising heart instead of a languid spirit.
    Rename them “Oaks of Righteousness”
planted by God to display his glory.

    Oaks of Righteousness
The beauty of God displayed . Strength beyond imagination as we are clothed with His Spirit.
The anointing of Jesus Christ flowing down .
The enemy defeated! Thank you Jesus.

  10. Isaiah 61:10, “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

What a beautiful day to REJOICE in the LORD and to be JOYFUL in our GOD!
HE has clothed us with SALVATION – He has Helped us; He has Delivered us; He has Redeemed us; He has Saved us.
HE has covered us with the Robe of RIGHTEOUSNESS – with goodness, uprightness, integrity, virtue, morality, honesty, purity, etc…

There’s So Much to be Thankful for today. So Many Reasons to REJOICE in the LORD and be JOYFUL in our GOD!
Thank You JESUS for SALVATION and RIGHTEOUSNESS.

  11. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    REJOICE

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

There is a distinct difference between JOY and sorrow, REJOICE and complain. The prophet reveals the source of our REJOICE:

    SALVATION and RIGHTEOUSNESS

The garment of salvation and the covering of righteousness are the sources of rejoicing and a joyful soul. When we realize, recognize and regenerate our salvation through righteous living we find ourselves in a JOYFUL state of being.

However when we allow our life circumstances and current surroundings to distract our minds and lives from HIS salving grace; complaining and murmuring arise and we for a JOYFUL soul for a disgruntled soul. Keeping our focus on the goodness of GOD that led us to repentance is our key and source to REJOICE in the LORD and be JOYFUL.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGive
    iReap

  12. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Naked we came into this world and naked we will leave, and anything we have gained in this natural life will be left behind. What matters is what we have gained spiritually. He hath clothed us in salvation, covered us in righteousness therefore I will rejoice and be exceedingly glad in my God.

All we want and all we need we can find in Him. He is the way, the truth and the life….abundant life. There is no other.

  13. Hallelujah 🙌 rejoice, I say it again rejoice!

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord
My soul shall be Joyful in my God
For he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation

He hath covered me with the robe of
Righteousness as a bridegroom decketh himself
With ornaments and as a bride bride adorneth
    Herself with jewels.

    ——-
    I am clothed and I am covered🙌
These are two very important reasons
    To rejoice.
He has done it, oh !what a merciful God .

    Oh his amazing Grace !!!!
So, no matter what’s going on around us
We could be lost, we could be without God in this world
    But we are not.
The hope of glory could have pass me, but he didn’t .

    Hallelujah 🙌
This is the day that the lord has made
We will REJOICE and be glad in it.
    Blessed be his name

  14. I love pofw LIVEJESUSGIVEJESUS2 He is the way the truth and the life (was said earlier) and this is my stregnth!!

  15. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

It’s about proclaiming HIS GOOD NEWS!!!! ITS ALL ABOUT SPREADING HIS GOSPEL!!!! What a great privileged is to go about and tell everyone about HIS LOVE AND SALVATION. Tell everyone you see how He found you, what He has done in your life, and what He will do in theirs!!! Thank you Jesus for making you ministers of your word and your truth. Don’t waste the gift and the opportunity He has given you always use it for His Glory!!!

  16. Isaiah 61: 11 ( amp) For as surely as the earth brings fourth it’s shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring forth, so surely the Lord God will cause righthtess and justice and praise to spring forth before all the nations through the self- filling power of His word.
Galatians 6: 8 ( amp) And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for due time and at the appointment season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
You will find your Hope, Joy,Righteous, Strength, in Jesus.
The joy of the Lord is my Strength.

  17. 4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

God is a god of restoration. It matters not how low someone has fallen, Jesus will restore that which is lost or stolen. Judah would rebuild the walls, they would rebuild the temple and worship would be restored. Joy would be returned to the people of Judah.

  18. 10-11
    Clothed
Paul uses the image of salvations clothing in Rom. 13:14
Christ used it in several parables as where the guests were dressed in special garments provided by the host (Matt. 22: 11-14). Being dressed in such garments showed the wearer to be an invited guest with a right to join the celebration.

Only if we are clothed with God’s salvation will we enjoy life in the future kingdom of the Lord

  19. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

The saved have their sins washed in the blood. When the Lord looks upon us He see the spotless righteousness of Jesus.

  20. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

    You reap what you sow
This is a fundamental principle in the Kingdom. You reap what you sow whether veggies, happiness, peace, or evil. The Lord has made this clear. It’s time to sow into the Kingdom good things

  21. Isaiah 61:10
I am overwhelmed with joy in the lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.

    Thank you Jesus for salvation.

  22. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

We must rejoice in the Lord at all times. Things may not go the way you want, but rejoice anyway. The enemy may throw things your way, but as long as we rejoice we can make it through. Lift up your hands in spite of your situation and God can bring you through.

  23. Isaiah 61

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteous, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Our Lord God is always there for us. We must gladly rejoice as he has done everything for us. No matter the situation with Jesus we will always prevail.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  24. Isaiah Chapter 61

Remember this for the body of Christ both Jew and Gentile who are in Christ Jesus. Therefore the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. Amen and Amen

  25. 1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

His anointing destroyed the yojebib our lives and the lives of those around us. His anointing enables us to preach to others the words that are needed to give them freedom and life in Christ.

  26. 9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed.

We must always realize that we are Hid people. God can do the unthinkable and more than we can ever realize. His blessings can be abundant but we have to have that certain kind of relationship with Him. We can’t go around being carnal, and then come to church acting right just to be carnal again. This is an example of going before God half heartedly, when we should be going to Him whole heartedly! I pray tonight that you are putting in good thought in your relationship with God, for He loves and cares for you very dearly.

  27. 1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

    2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

    There are good news.
In the midst of chaos, darkness and hopelessness there is a light. There is a message of good news. The prophet Isaiah puts it this way: preach good tidings, bind up the broken-hearted, proclaim liberty to the captive, opening of prison, beauty for ashes, oil of joy for mourning, comfort all that mourn, garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord…

There is definitely good news. The good news of the gospel. That which Jesus himself came to preaching, and the message has been the same for more than 2 thousand years; repent for the kingdom of God is ar hand.

You can have all of that and more being a kingdom citizen. And there is only one way one truth, his name is Jesus. And all he says, Nicodemus, to all those that are so close to the kingdom, you must ne born again. That will let you enter the kingdom of God.

  28. “For I, the Lord, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In the kingdom of the Lord there will never be any evil, no sin, or anything that is worldly. God will never accept evil into his kingdom, for he is filled of good, joy, light and peace. The enemy is still roaming around and temptation as well. I pray tonight that we go unto the Lord in prayer for forgiveness of your sins everyday even if you may not know if you made a mistake. Pray unto him to cleanse you of any evil thing in your body or any sin that you have done. God will forgive and renew us, and when he does we have to trust and thank him daily and live for him full heartedly.

  29. “I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God joy is overwhelming. Share this joy to someone, spread the word and love of God. Cherish his words.

  30. “The Spirit of God, the Master, is on me because God anointed me. He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, Announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners. God sent me to announce the year of his grace— a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies— and to comfort all who mourn, To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them “Oaks of Righteousness” planted by God to display his glory. They’ll rebuild the old ruins, raise a new city out of the wreckage. They’ll start over on the ruined cities, take the rubble left behind and make it new. You’ll hire outsiders to herd your flocks and foreigners to work your fields, But you’ll have the title “Priests of God,” honored as ministers of our God. You’ll feast on the bounty of nations, you’ll bask in their glory. Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, Your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:1-7‬ ‭MSG‬‬
This Scripture means that, God wants His Good News and Blessings to Everyone and Everywhere for His Last Harvest.

  31. “Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.”
    Isaiah 61:7 NLT

When you think of the goodness of Jesus and from where He has delivered you out. How he blesses us, my soul cries out hallelujah. Everything that we do give it all to Jesus. Obey His commands and grater things will come.

  32. “to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Revival Today!

There’s work that needs to be done on His Kingdom. Thankful that Jesus called us for such a time as this.
Speak to the people that GOD almighty has put on your tongue to speak.

For hire! Top pay! Treasures in heaven.

“And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭14:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  33. Isaiah 61:10,11 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom deck eth himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Thank God for the garment of salvation!

  34. “They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Ruins are typically thought of as something of the past not as something that could be. Ruins are desolate, lacking the hustle and bustle of life that once existed. Ruins can become existent for many reasons, natural disaster, increase in pollution, water resources dry up, and even war. But this scripture proves that what was once destroyed and ruined can be brought back and restored with life and so it’s also so for people spiritually. Life has a way of breaking somebody down, running them over, and leaving them for dead never to be filled with life again. However, not only does God have the ability to raise up those ruins and restore them to their former state he has the ability to breath his life into that soul. Because like the scripture says, what others meant for evil God meant for good, it’s just all in His timing.

  35. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

There is nothing greater than to be clothed in righteousness as the bride of Christ – reaching for others as wait for his return. He also gives us the garment of praise to give him all the glory. There’s no place I’d rather be than here in his arms as the song says.

  36. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
    Amen and amen

  37. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

This is the day the Lord has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it! God is so good and deserves all the praise. Remember all He has done and rejoice in His excellent greatness!

  38. 6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Be great, ride to the occasion, and be who God called you to be! But do not be boastful and ruin your own credibility.

7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8 For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

For the lord loves judgement, which some may not like, but I believe is good for us and keeps us accountable to a goal and higher outlook. Continue to grow. Continue to aspire. Continue to look higher! Continue to Arise!!
