Jeremiah 4

If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the Lordis not turned back from us.

And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the Lord, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

10 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.

13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

15 For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.

16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the Lord.

18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.

19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.

27 For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.

29 The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.

30 And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.

31 For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

Once more He calls them to return. They confess that idols are a deception that God is the only salvation that their apostasy has cost them dearly, and that they are now covered by shame and reproach. Jesus is the answer to all the problems in the world.

  3. 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

I understand that the book of Jeremiah the book of Jeremiah was written a very long time ago and was written to the nation of Israel during a very rough time and they were astray by many miles from where they were supposed to be but I see a lot of similarities with Vain thoughts and wickedness in the hearts of men that are very similar to where we are today. I continue to pray that people’s eyes may be opened and those that continue to lie and deceive people and cause division will fall away

  4. “Your Evil Life Is Piercing Your Heart” is what these verses are captioned. Verses 13-14 MSG “Look at them! Like banks of storm clouds, racing, tumbling, their chariots a tornado, Their horses faster than eagles! Woe to us! We’re done for! Jerusalem! Scrub the evil from your lives so you’ll be fit for salvation. How much longer will you harbor devious and malignant designs within you? Verse 18 MSG also says “It’s the way you’ve lived that’s brought all this on you. The bitter taste is from your evil life. That’s what’s piercing your heart.”

Ecclesiastes 11:10 ERV “Don’t let your anger control you, and don’t let your body lead you to sin.[a] People do foolish things in the dawn of life while they are young.” Proverbs 4:23-27 MSG “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.”

  5. 3. This is what the LORD says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem: “Plow up the hard ground of your hearts! Do not waste your good seed among thorns.

    4. O people of Judah and Jerusalem, surrender your pride and power. Change your hearts before the LORD, or my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins. NLT

God’s call for His People to repent is still echoing today, and time is running out. Let’s be the example and let revival begin with us.

  6. Jeremiah 4:1‭-‬2 NLT
“O Israel,” says the Lord, “if you wanted to return to me, you could. You could throw away your detestable idols and stray away no more. Then when you swear by my name, saying, ‘As surely as the Lord lives,’ you could do so with truth, justice, and righteousness. Then you would be a blessing to the nations of the world, and all people would come and praise my name.”

We all have sinned and done things we are not proud of. We have gone through the guilt and shame of it all. We have all felt unworthy and felt the failure in our lives because nit only did we fail ourselves but most importantly we failed God.
The truth is that God hates all sin but the moment that we have realized that we have done wrong and repent with a humble and contrite heart, God cant help but be moved. A broken and repented heart will bring us back to the father and He will bless us.

    Isaiah 66:2 NLT
My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.

  7. For this is what the Lord says to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem, “Plow your uncultivated ground [for a season], And do not sow among thorns. Circumcise (dedicate, sanctify) yourselves to the Lord And remove the foreskin [sins] of your heart, Men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Or else My wrath will go forth like fire [consuming all that gets in its way] And burn and there will be no one to quench it, Because of the evil of your acts.”

Whether in sin or not if our hearts are hardened then nothing can grow there. It is barren soil. It can lack the life sustaining nutrients needed to live a life of joy and love that God has gifted to us. What brings nutrients back to the soil? Fire. The fire of the Holy Ghost. The fire of passion and love! Some of the most fertile land on our planet is right at the base of a volcano!! If we continue to let God move on our hearts with the fire of His Spirit we too can be fertile soil able to allow good seed to grow!🌱

  8. El senor es justo y amoroso que cuando cometemos pecado es bueno y lento para la ira, gracias Senor JESUS por tu infinito Amor.

  9. “My heart, my heart—I writhe in pain! My heart pounds within me! I cannot be still. For I have heard the blast of enemy trumpets and the roar of their battle cries.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The title included in this section of the chapter is Jeremiah Weeps for His People. The burden of soul winning hurts. You want so desperately for others to hear the gospel and run to Jesus but it’s not up to you. They have to make that decision for themselves. And when you see them walk away, it hurts. But thank You Jesus for a God who can work with a seed planted!

  10. 7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

We must remember that this life is a battle for our souls and the souls of others. We must remain vigilant and focused.

  11. 4 NLT “O people of Judah and Jerusalem, surrender your pride and power. Change your hearts before the Lord, or my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins.
From back in the days of long ago until now, God is still calling for repentance. Change your sinful ways. Detach yourself from anything not of God or suffer the unbearable consequences.
COL 2:11“When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature.”
    ‭‭

We all sin and come short of the glory to God. Help me to see and repent and start again and to learn and grow in the Lord. I love Pofw. Live Jesus give Jesus 2!

  13. ““Your own actions have brought this upon you. This punishment is bitter, piercing you to the heart!””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

They had bitterly provoked the Lord”, as the word may be rendered in the preceding verse; and now He sends them a bitter calamity and a heavy judgment.

  14. Jeremiah 4:22
22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

The word sottish means , drunken , stupid , foolish .
Sottish children . How sad that this world continues to be like a child without knowledge . Israel had been taught the ways of God passed down from generation to generation yet they are drunken and foolish leaving the things of God according to the word. When will people truly wake up to the realization it is time to quit playing around and turn away from sin.
My heart aches to see how far out into sin people have wondered . God helps us to intercede fir a dying world and to lead with hearts that are sincere so that they can know someone does care . Helps to live and give You before it is too late . Show us daily how to reach before this world is destroyed and many of our friends and family are lost .

  15. 1 if thou wilt return oh Israel, saith the Lord.
Return unto me and if thou will put away thine abominations out of my sight , then shall thou
    Not removed.
    —-
    Three things must happen:
    Repentance ( acknowledge of sin…)
Action( do something about it, repair.. clean up, make it right..)
Determination.( made up mind, grow in faith..)
He says it and makes it clear on the very first verse.
    Every action has a reaction.

    🙏.

  16. 1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
2 And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

God is merciful and desires man to repent and turn to him. Then he can restore and bless as they/we follow his ways.

  17. 1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
2 And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

God is merciful and desires man to repent and turn to him. Then he can restore and bless as they/we follow his ways.

  18. 1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

2 And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

3 For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

If we repent Jesus is faithful to forgive

  19. ““Shout to Judah, and broadcast to Jerusalem! Tell them to sound the alarm throughout the land: ‘Run for your lives! Flee to the fortified cities!’ Raise a signal flag as a warning for Jerusalem: ‘Flee now! Do not delay!’ For I am bringing terrible destruction upon you from the north.””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is our cry for today.
Every person every conversation that we have we have to talk about this we can’t steer away from the truth or shy away from what is really going on it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out we just have to be the willing vessel in the voice of God to cry on to his people repent repent for the end is at hand

  20. Jeremiah 4: 31 ( amp) For I have heard a cry as of a woman in travail , anguish as of her who brings forth her first child , the cry of the daughter of Zion, who gasps for breath, who spreads her hands; saying Woe is me now! I am fainting before the murderers.
Philippines 4: 6 ( amp) Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, But in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition [ definite requests] with thanksgiving continue to make your wants known to God.
There are lots of babies are being born in to this world.
Are we standing in gap for them, and travailing for them and praying for them.
The Lord is near, He coming soon!.
Rejoice and give thanks to Lord at all times.

  21. 20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

People open your eyes and see that we are going to our own destruction little by little. Humans will finish destroying everything that surrounds them but they don’t see it. They seem to have forgotten that it was GOD who put the earth into existence. He spoke a word and there was light that alone shows His Magnificent Power for all He had to do was speak it into existence in the same way all He has to do is speak it’s end. Our God has be liniment and very merciful!!! All we need to do is REPENT, cut off the old self!! Return to Jesus. He is waiting for us so we can also be clothed in new garments and get the ring on our finger, and a calf will be killed and prepared for our return party!!!

  22. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    DO I KNOW HIM?

22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

I would be foolish to ignore this verse and say that I have been Baptized In JESUS Name and filled with the Holy Ghost for 33 years now that I know JESUS.

Do I know HIM by Name? YES – He is JESUS – LORD of Lords, KING of Kings, Father in Creation, Son in Redemption, Holy Spirit in us Today.

Do I know HIM as Lord and Christ? YES – But this is where most of us struggle to know HIM. We are comforted to know HIM as Christ, the savior, the one who gives us Life. But that Lord part, when HE is master, in charge and calling the shots in my life. When I pray “Thy Kingdom Come, thy will be done”. This is the place where we struggle to KNOW HIM.

The apostle Paul leaves us some insight in regard to how we should approach this subject:

    Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Being used of GOD, to teach and train churches and ministers; this same Paul confessed that his greatest desire was still to KNOW HIM.

KNOW – 1097. ginosko, ghin-oce´-ko; a prolonged form of a primary verb; to “know” (absolutely) in a great variety of applications and with many implications (as follow, with others not thus clearly expressed): — allow, be aware (of), feel, (have) know(-ledge), perceived, be resolved, can speak, be sure, understand.

To be aware of, feel and understand JESUS. This is where so many believers fall off. When can’t feel HIM or understand HIM. This reveals to me that to KNOW JESUS it will require some situations that I cannot understand naturally so that I will seek HIM spiritually.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive

  23. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

The Word is insinuating here that God deceived the people. We understand God doesn’t actually deceive people, but he does allow folks to be deceived. In fact, he allows the enemy to go and speak lies into disobedient people’s ears. When folks hear these voices, they think it’s God, but don’t be mistaken its not God but its a seducing spirit. An example of this happening in scripture is the following:

1Ki 22:23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

  24. 13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

Spoiled!!! WE MUST NOT BE SPOILED!!! In a land where we are not supposed to be a free people!!! Man has tried to keep us bound and you have and still are fighting for us Ooo LORD my GOD!!! You and ONLY YOU HAVE SET ME FREE!!!everyday I check my spirit to make sure I am not spoiled….. I don’t seek riches for my glory or a simple kingdom that I could make with my hands…. I WORSHIP THE GRRAT I AM and I WILL FOREVER !!! I have nothing that could repay your goodness towards me and mine!!! I don’t want to be spoiled ooo LORD….Help me LORD , I want more of YOU. WE NEED YOU NOW LORD!!!

  25. 19 My bowels, my bowels!

22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

Why does sin come so easily? It is more tempting to some than others but it shouldn’t be so easy to be distracted away from God if it is easy to be distracted then you aren’t doing everything you can to be saved. God has so much more to offer us then the “fun “ that sin holds, the “fun” is not forever. It ends up hurting us and it just keeps growing and growing.

  26. This is what the Lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem: “Plow up the hard ground of your hearts! Do not waste your good seed among thorns. O people of Judah and Jerusalem, surrender your pride and power. Change your hearts before the Lord, or my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins.
    Jeremiah 4:3‭-‬4 NLT

There is a call to repentance for this world, and it’s up to each soul to make their choice. We can pray and intercede, we can reach the lost and share the gospel, we can encourage and extend mercy and kindness – we must do our part and plant the seed, then water it with prayer. God is reaching out through us!

  27. 4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Circumcision, a cutting away of the flesh, was a covenant between Abraham and God in the book of Genesis – it was too be performed on every male.

In today’s chapter we are instructed to circumcise our heart – cut away the callousness, dead skin of the heart. Life wears on us at times, and if we are not careful, we can allow our heart to be grown over with the cares of life and therefore it is not as open to the Spirit of God that it once was. We become mechanical, responding superficially instead of with genuine love and concern.

Today, I want the Lord to take the scalpel of His word and cut away from my heart anything that would hinder His Spirit flowing through me or working in me. Otherwise I will find myself in the same spiritual condition that Jeremiah found Israel.

  28. “Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
We must cut away from our hearts the kingdom of this world. The kingdom or government of this world is not for us. We are under a new rulership. He is the King of kings and Lord or lords. We are apart of His Kindgom!

  29. 27 “This is what the Lord says: “The whole land will be ruined, but I will not destroy it completely.”

There are seasons in your life when it can feel as if everything has fallen apart, destroyed, and in pieces. When I read the scripture above, I couldn’t help but reflect such seasons in life. It can feel like everything is ruined, but it is not destroyed completely. There is also faith, hope, and grace.

The things that have broken were for a blessing, the ruin was for a reason, and the pain is for a praise. Don’t focus on the perspective of the broken, but the blessing that is to come after. For the scripture says His Grace is new EVERY Morning.

  30. “O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:14, 22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sorrow, fear, confusion even death has come to our nation because ‘self will’ has taken off like a wild fire. They have called evil good and good evil.
Daily we have been praying for our Nation and those who hold ‘power’ in the White House.
One thing that we know is that Jesus Christ has the last word over every soul.

As for me I want to live, not die. I must be obedient to my Father in all things.

“Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21:21‬ ‭NLT

  31. 30 And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.

I learned that even if you have worldly thing and your flesh is satisfied your spirit is still troubled and the worldly things aren’t going to be like they say they would be and that you need to fight the worldly things of your flesh

  32. 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

We need to wash our hearts out and pray everyday so we can be saved

  33. Jeremiah 4:1, 3, 4, & 14
    1) Put Away thine abominations
(discard – get rid of detestable things in our life)
    3) Break Up your fallow ground
(break up – break in pieces your hardened heart – let it become workable ground)
    4) Circumcise yourselves to the LORD
(cut away the fleshly things and dedicate ourselves to the LORD)
    14) Wash thine heart from wickedness
(cleanse our heart from all evil)

    True REPENTANCE is…
    Putting Away our abominations
    Breaking Up our fallow ground
    Circumcising ourselves to the LORD
    Washing our heart from wickedness
    Then we can be SAVED!

    Thank You JESUS!!

  34. Jeremiah 4:1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, Saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

Put away your idols, come back and be restored to real relationship with God. You will have security.

Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and mourning:

  35. 22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

In our day children know more about evil than our grandparents knew, We don’t need to learn about the evil ways of the world. We need to learn more about God’s ways and follow him.

  36. Jeremiah 4:3
This is what the lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem: “Plow up the hard ground of your hearts! Do not waste your good seed among thorns.

Soften you heart to hear the voice of God.

    Hebrews 3:15
Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”

    Ezekiel 36:26
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

    Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.

  37. 22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

“What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭5:20-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

How sad for our world now as there is so much evil. This is why we must help to bring the lost to our Lord Jesus.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  39. 3 For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Once a person makes up their mind toward something it can be hard to persuade them otherwise. You can give Bible studies, intercede and pray for people but unless they are willing to change … they just won’t. They may try to make you happy but the end result is hollow and fruitless because that Word fell on thorns. Stubborn and prideful hearts will fall when not submitted unto Jesus. It will take them seeking God and digging, sowing and developing a relationship with Him to change. We have to take off the old man and put on the new one as a new creation in Christ Jesus. It’s a process but the more a person sows righteousness the more they will reap and flourish outwardly as fruit.

  40. 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

We must clean ourselves of the that are not like God. Only he can make us clean inside. It is the Lord that can help us through all situations. In him is where my trust lies.

  41. “O Jerusalem, cleanse your heart that you may be saved. How long will you harbor your evil thoughts?”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is time we start checking our hearts, for us to start seeking God daily for a cleansing of the heart, the mind, the body and the spirit, for him to take away any evil in you. If you know you’ve messed up lately and you still keep doing it what is keeping you from going to the Lord and asking for forgiveness and guidance? When we made a wrong move I pray that the first thing we do is go to the Lord in repentance faithfully show the Lord your ready to change your ways and live for him. The best decision you’ll ever make is giving your life to God!

  42. 23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

The church is the “light of the world” it would be a shame for the church to refuse to shine. It would be a shame for the church to be so comfortable entertaining sin that they fail to even have light.

We are here to expand His kingdom. We are here to be the light.

  43. 2 And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

  44. 23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

He is the creator of all things that we could ever imagine of! Nothing or none would be on this earth if it wasn’t for Him. We must make sure that we are always giving God the praise and recognition that he truly deserves! We must not let our flesh and blood get the best of us. I pray tonight that you are following His word always and being the light for His people that need you the most!!!

  45. Jeremiah Chapter 4

Do we hear the heart of God our creator? Let us see his heart, the heart of a Father. Verse 1 shows his heart: O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me. God is pleading for the house of Israel. God has emotions and He is pleading to his children to come home.

Luke 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

God is still speaking in verse 2 The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory. This should be our response God is merciful yet he is just.

Verse 4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

His Grace will be tried and He then comes in his fury. Let us walk in his ways and be doers of his word not just hears of it.

  46. The truth is that God hates all sin but the moment that we have realized that we have done wrong and repent with a humble and contrite heart, God cant help but be moved

  47. “My heart, my heart—I writhe in pain! My heart pounds within me! I cannot be still. For I have heard the blast of enemy trumpets and the roar of their battle cries.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Being a witness can have its highs and it’s lows. When you witness and bring someone to the church and see them stray away from the church it hurts. It’s like a mom and child. A mother hurts when her child hurts but the older the child gets the mom hurts but know there is nothing she can do because her child is older. This is the same with us as Christians. It hurts when we see those souls we bought in stray away but there is a time where we have to remove our hands and continue to pray. It may hurt but we must put it in the lords hands and let the lord do his work.

  48. 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

It’s sad as you see history repeat itself in such ways. Not only our nation, but also nations around us that we need to say the same to, “. . . wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. . .” Wash your heart, your mind, and Anything and everything to do with it so that you yourself can be saved. Yet so many choose an anti-Christ life. Even those that know of or grew up in this great truth. It’s a sad day. We as a church need to pray for the sinners, the backsliders, and the churches! We are living in a time unlike any other. “. . . wash thine heart. . . How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?”

  49. ““My people are foolish and do not know me,” says the Lord. “They are stupid children who have no understanding. They are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no idea how to do right!””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We all start out as children in our relationship with God but we should always be striving to learn and grow so we can eventually change our foolish ways and really focus on God’s will for us and pleasing him.

  50. ““Shout to Judah, and broadcast to Jerusalem! Tell them to sound the alarm throughout the land: ‘Run for your lives! Flee to the fortified cities!’”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The wrath of God is coming. Warn people, tell people about our might merciful Lord. Spend the word of God. Save those lost souls.

  51. O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, That you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?
    Jeremiah 4:14 NKJV

The Bible tells us that it is from the heart that proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man. We see here God’s urge for men to cleanse his heart. The issue lies in the heart then. Why doesn’t he just take it? Then there wouldn’t be any difference between us God’s creation and his angels another God’s creation. Yet we honor him we bless him and give him glory when we choose to surrender ourselves and give our hearts to God. By reading this it implies that the one that the request is being asked of needs to take an action. Love is action, not just a word. Wash your heart from wickedness thus means to turn away from the sinful nature, repent if you will, and actively, by force and choice do that which is contrary to the flesh.

  52. 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

God warns us when it’s been long enough and sin continues to overtake us and our loved ones. Our flesh is what we struggle with every day but with a determination and the favor of God we can overcome anything.

  53. 1“O Israel,” says the LORD, “if you wanted to return to me, you could. You could throw away your detestable idols and stray away no more.

The big ‘if’ you want to have a relationship and serve God. Many say they do, but don’t go through it. They want to serve God, but only if they can keep some idols, or continue to do bad habits, or be disobedient. God wants all of you, so you have to give your all to God.

  54. 11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,
12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.

This verse starts as, “. . . O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. . .” And I think my goodness!! Again?? And then it goes into, “. . . How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?” We can all agree that we’ve thought it. . . Why do the children of Israel struggle so much back and forth with not following God’s instruction and doing their own thing?? But, if stop and think about it, how many times do you think God thinks that same think about us?? Look at the nation, our society, even just those that you go to work with and you see so many people struggle with this. Even those that we go to church with struggle, that’s part of the reason bee all go to church. To know that He is there and we are not out alone. We need to pray for each other, our neighbors, coworkers, and our nation. At some point He may become angry as He did with the Children of Israel so many times. Pray and keep your heart right.
