Jeremiah 9

Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the Lord.

Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.

And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.

Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?

Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

10 For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.

11 And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.

12 Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?

13 And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:

15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.

17 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come:

18 And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.

19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.

20 Yet hear the word of the Lord, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.

21 For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets.

22 Speak, Thus saith the Lord, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.

23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

25 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;

26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

  1. Jeremiah 9:23‭-‬24 NLT
This is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!

The meaning of boast: talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one’s achievements, possessions, or abilities.

We can usually identify those who love themselves because all they talk about is me,me,me. They like to speak of what they have, what they accomplish and how great they are. They want everyone around them to notice who they are.

I wonder if we could take the same approach but instead of talking about ourselves and accomplishments, we can Boast in truly knowing Him. We can tell everybody about Him and His abilities and His accomplishments. Its about showing other people His love and His will and not ours.

  2. 13 And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.

Sometimes the wicked have a life of prosperity and there are other times that the wicked struggle. It appears that the difference maybe an approch the Lord uses to call some to repentance and to those that are struggle free maybe beyond repentance. Thus we serve a God of grace and mercy.

  3. “A time is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will punish all those who are circumcised in body but not in spirit—
    Jeremiah 9:25 NLT

Circumcision is more symbolic than it is ritual. While circumcision is now considered to be a common thing due to health, God had made a covenant with Abraham and circumcision was the sign. I love this scripture but it is so heartbreaking at the same time because it reflects that on the outside they looked like they were supposed to but they’re inside, their spirit and their heart, was far from where it was supposed to be. It is easy to play Church, it’s easy to look like a Christian and to even act like a Christian at times, but it is not that, that God is looking for it is that intimacy and obedience in our heart that God wants. That is continued to have our hearts purified before him that we remain in covenant with him

  4. Verses 23-24 ERV “This is what the Lord says: “The wise must not brag about their wisdom. The strong men must not brag about their strength. The rich must not brag about their money. But if someone wants to brag, then let them brag about this: Let them brag that they learned to know me. Let them brag that they understand that I am the Lord, that I am kind and fair, and that I do good things on earth. I love this kind of bragging.” This message is from the Lord.” It is time to brag on Jesus as we learn to know Him, understand who He is and the good things that He does; so we too can LIVE-GIVE JESUS²

  5. Jeremiah 9:23–24

    ESV

23 Thus says the Lord: y“Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24 but zlet him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. aFor in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”

In Everything give God thanks. Without Him where would I be ? Unqualified yet in His sovereignty and strength He clothes me daily. He receives the glory and honor for I could nothing without Him.
Thank you Jesus. Not by my might but by His power.

  6. Jeremiah 9:24,25 Glory in knowing the Lord (v.23-26)
    But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord with exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;

Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Psalm 44:8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity; and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger forever, because he delighteth in mercy.

2 Corinthians 10:17 But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

We must get wisdom from the Lord himself.
Lovingkindness, judgment, righteousness which the Lord delights.

  7. 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

    Thank You Jesus!

  8. Jeremiah 9:13-14,26
[13]The Lord replies, “This has happened because my people have abandoned my instructions; they have refused to obey what I said.
[14]Instead, they have stubbornly followed their own desires and worshiped the images of Baal, as their ancestors taught them.
[26]the Egyptians, Edomites, Ammonites, Moabites, the people who live in the desert in remote places, and yes, even the people of Judah. And like all these pagan nations, the people of Israel also have uncircumcised hearts.”

To have a circumcised heart is to fear God, to follow Him, to love Him, to serve Him with all your being, from the heart – and thus to keep His commandments, which, after all, will lead to good and not harm, fulfillment and not slavery. To have a circumcised heart also includes recognizing the great privilege of being loved by the God of all creation, and thus to praise Him, to rejoice in Him, to recognize Him as your God.

    Acts of the Apostles 7:51,53
[51]“You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to the truth. Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit? That’s what your ancestors did, and so do you!
[53]You deliberately disobeyed God’s law, even though you received it from the hands of angels.”

We cannot produce love for God, service from the heart for God, fear of God, and obedience to God from our inner resources. We, like Paul, will instead just add to our rebellion if we think we’ve succeeded. But God in His mercy extends the offer of intimacy in His family to whoever calls on the Name of the Lord (Romans 10:13). So humble yourself before Him. Ask, “Would you circumcise my heart? Would you in your mercy change even a sinner like me? Would you forgive me in accordance with the perfect sacrifice of Jesus?” Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins. And God the Father never despises a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17).
“Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn.” May we all obey – and be brought into God’s intimate family by the blood of Jesus.

  9. Bragg and boast on Jesus and how good his greatness is! You and I would be nothing without him. I love pofw! Live Jesus Give Jesus 2

  10. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    WHEN GOD SAYS ENOUGH

    13 And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

The deceitful destruction of dishonesty is a great frustration and disappointment to JESUS. We witness that here in chapter 9 and we witness it in the lives of people today.

Some people lie so often and live life from a dishonest disposition that they themselves are deceived. They dress the part, talk the part and somewhat live the part. BUT. They speak lies more than truth. On top of that they then call themselves ministers. Here is what JESUS says about this deceitful destruction of dishonesty.

4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every
brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.

8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

Beware of people who once spoke fair and positive of someone and all of the sudden have a change of speech. Their life is filled with lies and are deceived and look to lead others down that deceitful path.

We should separate ourselves from people that speak negative of others, especially those that they once spoke positive of. We do not want our habitation in the midst of deceit.

When we stay faithful to Prayer, Bible and Pastor we remain in a guarded place of protection and provision.

  11. Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NIV)
    23) This is what the LORD says: let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,
    24) But let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, declares the LORD.

“Their Wisdom, Their Strength, Their Riches”
There is one thing I can boast in today, and that is “I Know JESUS.”
If I have Wisdom, if I have Strength, if I have Riches today, it is ALL because of JESUS. It ALL comes from Him.
Wisdom – James 1:5 says, “If any man lack Wisdom, let him ask of God,…
Strength – Neh. 8:10 says, “…; for the Joy of the LORD is your Strength.”
Riches – Phil. 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His Riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

As vs. 24 says, “But let the one who boasts boast about this:…”
“… Let the one who boasts boast in the LORD.” (1 Cor. 1:31) (NIV)

  12. Jeremiah 9: 23 ( amp) But let him who glorious glory is this, that he understands and knows Me, ( personally and practically, directly) that I am the Lord Who practices loving – kindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight says the Lord.
1 Cor.1:31 ( amp) So then, as it is written , Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories , boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord.
Tell everybody about God’s Goodness, Brag on him .
    In Jesus name.

  13. 24 ERV But if someone wants to brag, then let them
Brag about this: let them brag that they understand that I am the lord, that I am king and fair and that I do god things
On earth. I love this kings of bragging, this message is from the Lord.

  14. 13 And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:

Who can know our heart? Only the one we give permission to walk around in it and see what is really there. On the outside we can put up a facade of who we are and that is what people see. However, Jesus knows our end from our beginning, our insides and outsides. He knows the very thoughts.

    This is why we are instructed in 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

We have the power to cast down those things that are going to lead us astray, cause us to follow the ways of the world and not Jesus.

    Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

  15. 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

There isn’t a thing worth glorifying in this flesh. God alone deserves all the glory and our praise. We are his creation and as created beings are not above the Creator. His delight is to receive our love and adoration and praise!

  16. 8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

The enemy will try to shoot arrows of words at us but if we study the word of God we can ignore those voices and speak the word of the Lord

  17. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

This is telling me that just because Israel was circumcised in the flesh, didn’t make them circumcised in the heart. They were in covenant with the Lord but their hearts were far from him. This is how many folks are today. They are baptized in Jesus name, but the heart is just like the gentiles (pagans).

  18. 23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
    25 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;

God is a God of love but also a righteous God.

  19. “And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the Lord.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“They KNOW not me, saith the Lord.”
This passage reminds of when Jesus was teaching about the Kingdom of heaven and being true disciples. He stated
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the WILL of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we do the WILL of the Father we shall enter into the Kindgom of heaven. And we can show signs and wonders but in the end those people didn’t have a relationship with God and He doesnt know them. We must seek God first. Seek His face not just His hand. It’s not good enough to call Him Lord. We must know the Lord personally and if we love Him we will keep His commandments.

“But if anyone loves God [with awe-filled reverence, obedience and gratitude], he is known by Him [as His very own and is greatly loved].”
    ‭‭1 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭8:3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  20. Jeremiah Chapter 9

RSV Jeremiah 9:24 but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practice steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight, says the LORD.”

Let us this day glory in this that we understand and knows me that He is the Lord of heaven and earth. For he is the Lord is Love, Justice, and Righteousness for he delights in these things. There for we are to give Him praise.

  21. Jeremiah 9
4 Beware of your friends; do not trust anyone in your clan. For every one of them is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer.

Do not trust a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend. Even with the women who lies in your embrace, guard the words of your lips. Micah 7:4

There are people that say they are your friend as long as you agree with them. Also there are givers and takers, and I had a friend that would always want something from me. If some one is doing wrong and you don’t follow them, they will not have anything to do with you. If your friend does not follow our Lord and Saviour, beware! The enemy will try to get to you too!
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  22. Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

You may go to church, participate in functions and go out with the motion, youth group and other ministries. But your heart may not be where it must. The children of Israel saw the works of God but they weren’t completely saved there hearts were still stuck in Egypt in a captive mindset. We just over come this and ask God to search my heart and help me keep it clean.

  23. “Instead, they have followed the stubbornness of their hearts; they have followed the Baals, as their ancestors taught them.””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If we should follow anything it should be the voice of the lord. In all that we do we need to make sure it is aligned with what he wants us to do. Following our own will and heart will not always lead us to the right direction. This is why it’s important to seek god in prayer and fasting because he will show us which way he wants us to go and what he wants us to do. Always seek him first!!

  24. 8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

The tongue can be a deadly weapon. It has the power to bring down great people. This is the reason why we must watch what we say. Treat people the way you would like to be treated.

  25. “Who is wise enough to understand all this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it to others? Why has the land been so ruined that no one dares to travel through it?”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God must know who he can depend on to continue spreading his word to the lost, and explain all his commands and explain his directions. As his children we should be living faithfully for him and try growing more and more in him daily reading and expanding your knowledge in him and his word. So when the time comes where God needs you he will have you prepared. God knows your purpose, keep growing in him and he will use you and show you you are here for a reason.

  26. But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
    Jeremiah 9:24 NKJV

Here in is the true riches. The real thing to take pride or great pleasure in. That one may know the Lord. The invitation is for man to know his God.

  27. ““My people bend their tongues like bows to shoot out lies. They refuse to stand up for the truth. They only go from bad to worse. They do not know me,” says the Lord. “Beware of your neighbor! Don’t even trust your brother! For brother takes advantage of brother, and friend slanders friend. They all fool and defraud each other; no one tells the truth. With practiced tongues they tell lies; they wear themselves out with all their sinning.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:3-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sounding like the current days we are living in.

Our nation is lacking pure love that only comes from the LORD himself. Without the Holy Ghost in our lives there is and can not have true love for our brothers and sisters now. So quick at pointing fingers and speaking down on each other.

“Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This must not be the church. This is not whom we are, this is not the love of Jesus.

“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We no longer act or think as we did in the past. Hallelujah!!!! I’m thankful for what JESUS has done in my life.

  28. “but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hallelujah, all I have is Christ for He is my life. All we are we owe to Jesus. If not for Him, I wouldn’t be here. If not for His Word, I’d be lost. If not for His Love, I’d be hopeless and barren. Thank You Jesus!

  29. 8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

How are you handling things? W smuts be carful on how we do things for it should always be done in the correct manner at all times. Worship is the way the battle is won. We can not let our flesh ever fight our battles for we might loose. I with stay and always stand on Gods side for nothing can defeat Him! I pray tonight that you are doing things in the manner as they should be done!!!

  30. 26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

God is no respecter of persons either they are righteous or they are unrighteousness. Their is no gray area. If you plant apple seeds your not going to get an orange tree. The same goes for people if they are wicked then wickedness with come out of them. What we sow we also reap. Who we are will be evident in our fruit. We are like trees or plants in that essence.

Egypt is well known for their likeness unto the world and Israel was supposed to be known for its separation unto God. When the fathers of Israel taught their sons to worship false gods they planted roots of wickedness. Now God has to uproot them in order to drive out sin from among His people like a gardener pulling up weeds from the roots of a flower bed. Israel could be circumcised physically but their sin makes them no different in Gods inclusion of punishing sin such as in Egypt and surrounding nations. It’s time for a repentance and a come to Jesus meeting.

  31. “A time is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will punish all those who are circumcised in body but not in spirit— the Egyptians, Edomites, Ammonites, Moabites, the people who live in the desert in remote places, and yes, even the people of Judah. And like all these pagan nations, the people of Israel also have uncircumcised hearts.”
    Jeremiah 9:25‭-‬26 NLT

A heart that has been given to the Lord, sanctified, consecrated, dedicated. Thank You, Lord for guiding us always

  32. ““My people bend their tongues like bows to shoot out lies. They refuse to stand up for the truth. They only go from bad to worse. They do not know me,” says the Lord.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Ouch!!! Quick to quick to lie but taking your time to get to know God and His word. I know the saying is YOLO and the idea is to live out your best life, but that life come to an end much faster than we know. Before we know it you’re scrambling to learn who God is

  33. “This is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Guard your ears and your heart from those that only want to speak highly of themselves in all the things that they know and all the things that they’ve seen open your ears and open your heart to the word of God when you hear someone speak make sure it’s aligned with the word of God find your scriptures line them up with the words that they speak

  34. “My people bend their tongues like bows to shoot out lies. They refuse to stand up for the truth. They only go from bad to worse. They do not know me,” says the Lord.
    Jeremiah 9:3 NLT

Just like it’s been preached to us time and time again, it is time for us to reach the lost. Make yourself available, be willing to go where those who are afar off are, and be joyful in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ!

  35. 17 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come:
18 And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.

So much to say and yet so confused at the same time.
