Jeremiah 11

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying,

Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

And say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,

Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:

That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Lord.

Then the Lord said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.

Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not.

And the Lord said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

11 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.

12 Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.

14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

15 What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

16 The Lord called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

17 For the Lord of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.

18 And the Lord hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.

19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

20 But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

21 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hand:

22 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:

23 And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.

  1. 2 Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

Jesus is saying to make sure we keep our covenant with him and continue hear His Words and obey them. The minute that we start to break covenant that is when we start to be cursed. As long we continue to obey, He is promising us the land with milk and honey which the revelation I’m getting it’s heaven. Hallelujah!
    Thank You Jesus!!

  2. 14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

When God’s judgment falls, He will not listen to their prayers, and Judah’s innumerable gods will be powerless to save them at all.

  3. 4. For I said to your ancestors when I brought them out of the iron-smelting furnace of Egypt, “If you obey me and do whatever I command you, then you will be my people, and I will be your God.”

    5. I said this so I could keep my promise to your ancestors to give you a land flowing with milk and honey-the land you live in today.'” Then I replied, “Amen, LORD! May it be so.” NLT

God truly wants to bless us, and He is well able to do so, but when we don’t obey His commandments, we cut off our own blessings because He won’t bless disobedience and rebellion.

  4. Verses 15-16 MSG “What business do the ones I love have figuring out how to get off the hook? And right in the house of worship! Do you think making promises and devising pious programs will save you from doom? Do you think you can get out of this by becoming more religious? A mighty oak tree, majestic and glorious—that’s how I once described you. But it will only take a clap of thunder and a bolt of lightning to leave you a shattered wreck.” We cannot be so blinded by evil that we begin to believe it’s going to be accepted or rewarded, for the only reward for breaking covenant is doom.

  5. 10- 11 ( amp) They have turned back to the inquites of their forefathers, who refused to hear My words, they have gone after other gods to serve them, the house of Judah have broken My covenant or solemn pledge which I made with their fathers.
    11) Therefore thus says the Lord, behold, I am bringing evil and calamity upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; through they cry to Me I will not listen to them.
Question Have you ever wonder why God don’t answer your prayer!
    This is scary thought!
Serving idols instead of Lord he not going to listen to our prayers.
James 4: 8 ( amp) Come close to God and He will come close to you. [ Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hand clean ; [ realize that you have been disloyal ] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [ of your spiritual adultery].

  6. Jeremiah 11:1, 6, 8-10 (VOICE)
    1) The word of the Eternal came to Jeremiah.

    6) Now it is time to announce My message in the villages of Judah and on the streets of My city, Jerusalem. I want them to hear this: Listen to the words of this covenant, and start doing what it says.

    8) But they didn’t listen, and they didn’t obey Me. Instead, they deliberately chased their own dark desires, ignoring Me at every turn….
    9) The people of Jerusalem and all of Judah conspire against Me.
    10) They have gone back to the sins of their ancestors, who long ago ignored My words. The have chased after other gods and worshiped them….

Sounds like the world we live in today. People don’t listen. They don’t want to obey. They chase after their own dark desires – the imagination of their evil heart. They chase after other gods (idols – things) and worship them.
    BUT….
The Word of the LORD has come to us, “GO ye into all the world, and PREACH the GOSPEL to every creature.” (St. Mark 16:15). NOW is the Time to Announce (Proclaim) HIS Message of Salvation – REPENTANCE, BAPTISM in the Name of JESUS CHRIST for the Remission of sins, and RECEIVING the gift of the HOLY GHOST – in the streets of Fort Worth and the Regions around about us. NOW is the Time to tell people to LISTEN to and OBEY the Word of the LORD, for HE IS COMING SOON!

  7. What right does my beloved have coming into My temple, having done such vile things with so many? Do you really think that animal sacrifice is going to make this all go away? Will you then be able to rejoice? 16 The Eternal once proclaimed you a lush olive tree, full of beautiful fruit. But all that has changed. With the roar of a violent storm, He will now strike that tree—leaving it battered, broken, and burned. 17 Now the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies, has decreed disaster against you, the same tree He planted—all because of the evil done by the people of Israel and Judah, all because they provoked Me by worshiping and sacrificing to Baal.

    The Voice translation

  8. 20 But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
21 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hand:

No matter how much love we give or how true or something is, some people are not going to listen. This gospel is the most beautiful truth out there, but some people are not going to accept it simply because it means they have to face the unraveling of their evil doing. Even Jesus told us the parable about sowing the seeds on the different grounds, the seeds were still sown even though the sower new it would be in vain but was not in charge of whether or not anything sprouted up from those seeds. Our job is to simply spread the gospel with love. To teach about repentance to let God do the rest

  9. Obediencia, humildad y hacer los mandamientos que nos dio nuestro DIOS nos llevaran a la Vida eterna con el pero cuando existe lo contrario solo existira exilio y destrucion.

  10. 21 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hand:
22 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:

Here we see that GOD does hear and avenges our cause!!! My GOD IS JUST!!!

  11. 15 What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

16 The Lord called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

God is a wonderful ,Just ,faithful, and merciful all he wants is for us to love him and worship him with all our hearts and am to win souls to his kingdom.

  12. “For I solemnly warned your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, “Obey me!” I have repeated this warning over and over to this day, but your ancestors did not listen or even pay attention. Instead, they stubbornly followed their own evil desires. And because they refused to obey, I brought upon them all the curses described in this covenant.’””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So this is what it comes down to. Obedience to God’s commands. It seems simple, but it proved to not be so.

  13. 18 and the Lord hath given me knowledge of it
And I know it, then thou shewedst me their doings.

    ——-
    Hallelujah 🙌
From my notes: ( don’t know what year the Lord spoke this to me) but thanks be to God, hallelujah 😊
👉🏼Just walk with me, just walk with me
    My grace is sufficient,
Walk with me daily, I will show you daily
    I will strengthen you.

    – for when I fear, in you will I trust.
    👉🏼-Hear, pay attention, obey, trust!

    Hallelujah 🙌
Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  14. Jeremiah 11:11 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.

Their fellowship with God was broken so that He would hear their requests.

Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Psalm 18:41 They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

Proverbs 1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer ; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts : And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

  15. 20 But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

We will have opposition to our faith and we can be assured that the Lord will recompense those that seek to thwart the Gospel.

  16. 21 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hand:

The men of Anathoth, Jerimiah’s home town, threatened Jerimiah. They thought that by killing Jerimiah, the prophecies would not happen. God saved Jerimiah from the men of Anathoth. The religious people of Jesus’ day, thought that by killing him, he would no longer be a threat to them, but, his prophecies, never the less, came to pass. God’s message for this age will come to pass, regardless, of what they do to God’s messengers.

  17. Jeremiah 11:4-5
[4]For I said to your ancestors when I brought them out of the iron-smelting furnace of Egypt, “If you obey me and do whatever I command you, then you will be my people, and I will be your God.”
[5]I said this so I could keep my promise to your ancestors to give you a land flowing with milk and honey—the land you live in today.’”Then I replied, “Amen, Lord! May it be so.”

The Lord always protects and provides for us. He is with us through any situation. Thank you Jesus. Obey the Lord.

  18. 18 NLT“Then the Lord told me about the plots my enemies were making against me.”
The Lord sees and hears all things.
20 “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, you make righteous judgments, and you examine the deepest thoughts and secrets. Let me see your vengeance against them, for I have committed my cause to you.”
‭‭Jeremiah did not try to avenge those who plotted against him. He call on the Lord.
Romans 12:19 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
‭22-23 “So this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says about them: “I will punish them! Their young men will die in battle, and their boys and girls will starve to death. Not one of these plotters from Anathoth will survive, for I will bring disaster upon them when their time of punishment comes.””
    ‭‭

  19. Jeremiah 11
8 jYet they did not obey or incline their ear, kbut everyone walked in the stubbornness of his evil heart. Therefore I brought upon them all hthe words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did not.”
9 Again the Lord said to me, l“A conspiracy exists among the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 10 They have turned back to mthe iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words. mThey have gone after other gods to serve them. nThe house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant that I made with their fathers. 11 Therefore, thus says the Lord, Behold, I am bringing disaster upon them that they cannot escape. oThough they cry to me, I will not listen to them

There is a day coming that God is bringing judgement.
Again when will our bathing return to God. When will our families and friends that have known the power of God return? I pray again today don’t let them wait too late! Give us boldness to speak and to continue to reach those who have never heard truth . Help me to do more than ever before to reach the lost . Jesus help me to be more sensitive and have wisdom how to reach the lost . In Jesus name . Too many people have broken their covenant with God . The word covenant does not mean much to society today . Easily broken but a covenant that is truly heart made will be kept and nothing should be able to make us break it. The people got caught up in false God’s offering incense to a false god. What incense are we offering up . Is it the fragrance of prayer to the Almighty God ? Or have we allowed idols to receive incense that truly should be for God. When we neglect prayer and the Word and replace it with things that are not even sin but have become idols of
our time then we become just like the children of Israel. God help us to choose to serve and worship You daily in prayer and Word .
    Joshua 24:15
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

  20. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION

    THE PROBLEM
3 And say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,

    THE SOLUTION
6 Then the Lord said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

THE PROBLEM arises in our lives when we fail to recognize the WORD of GOD as the COVENANT that GOD made with man. Any broken covenant is considered void and null. For example when we purchase a car. There is a sales contract or sales covenant, where we agree to make scheduled payments toward the debt of the car and we are permitted to drive the car anywhere we desire as long as we keep the agreement or obey the words of the covenant. BUT if we fail to obey the words of the covenant and do not make the agreed, scheduled payments then the car is taken back and we no longer have the privilege of driving the car.

THE SOLUTION comes in a simple form of obedience to know the contract and to do agreed terms of the contract or covenant.

Since I fell in love with this covenant, the WORD of GOD, my BIBLE I am thankful for the opportunity every day to learn more about GODs LOVE and GODs LAW for me. My life has been deeply BLESSED and my understanding of JESUS and HIS Kingdom has been exponentially deepened.

THE PROBLEM comes when the people of GOD do not honor GOD and HIS WORD or COVENANT with us.

Seek the LORD today and everyday and obey what you learn from the WORD oF GOD and this will position us for the promises of GOD.

5 That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Lord.

  21. “Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand:”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Truth spoken into the ears of nonbelievers can stir up feelings in the heart of man/woman. Not everyone is going to like us… but we are on a mission! S.O.U.L.S/ A.L.M.A.S As for us we need to know when to walk away. Not to cast our pearls upon swine. Eventually you come to someone whom is ready to receive the Truth. We must continue to pray for all, or nation, our region, our family and friends.

  22. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

Folks want to destroy the fruit of the godly. This is because most folk bear bad fruit and don’t want to see the righteous fruit. There is no Comparison with bad fruit vs good fruit. Them folks are just jealous that they are rotten

  23. ‘“Remind the people of Judah and Jerusalem about the terms of my covenant with them. Say to them, ‘This is what the Lord , the God of Israel, says: Cursed is anyone who does not obey the terms of my covenant! ‘

    Jeremiah 11:2-3

Think about that next time you break a promise. I know i will. We make commitments all the time and when we don’t fulfill the commitments we just make excuses. We seem to be pretty good at making things but how well can you say for yourself are you at Keeping things. We serve a God that never breaks promises so maybe if we stay full of the holy ghost we wont have to worry about breaking promises haha

  24. 19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

What a conspiracy – devised within their own camp to destroy the tree by destroying the fruit thereof.

I’ve heard an old saying before that says if you put one bad apple in a box with other apples, it eventually will ruin them all.

First of all we must guard ourselves that we don’t link up with someone with a mind to destroy the tree by destroying the fruit, but we must also guard ourselves from the other fruits.

If we are hanging with people that are opposed to the vision that we are working towards as a Church body, then they are conspiring against the leadership, and we must separate ourselves.

Just remember Korah in the OT. Conspired against Moses and was swallowed up by the earth, and those that conspired with him.

Let’s let our fruit be good, and pleasing to the Lord. All work together for the good of the Kingdom of God, and live for Jesus!

  25. For I said to your ancestors when I brought them out of the iron-smelting furnace of Egypt, “If you obey me and do whatever I command you, then you will be my people, and I will be your God.”
    Jeremiah 11:4 NLT

Obedience is key. If we cannot follow what His Word orders, we make ourselves ineligible for God’s favor and covering.

  26. 20 But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

The Lord hears and sees our thoughts and actions, he will try us and see what we will choose to do. Will we follow Him when are tried or will we follow the way of the flesh? When he let’s go of the ‘reins’ on our life and we are presented with opportunity to sin, what will we choose? Each and every day we must choose whom we will serve and I choose to serve the Lord.

  27. “What right do my beloved people have to come to my Temple, when they have done so many immoral things? Can their vows and sacrifices prevent their destruction? They actually rejoice in doing evil!
    Jeremiah 11:15 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/jer.11.15.NLT

Making vows and promises, bringing offerings and sacrifices, serving in any capacity in the Kingdom does not save you. The only thing that can save us our souls is having the depth of intimacy with Jesus Christ.

  28. The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying,

    2 Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

3 And say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,

  29. Jeremiah 11:21‭-‬23 NLT
This is what the Lord says about the men of Anathoth who wanted me dead. They had said, “We will kill you if you do not stop prophesying in the Lord’s name.” So this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says about them: “I will punish them! Their young men will die in battle, and their boys and girls will starve to death. Not one of these plotters from Anathoth will survive, for I will bring disaster upon them when their time of punishment comes.”

In the times we are living today society says not to let people get away with doing wrong against you. They advocate violence and vengeance because that is your right.
However when we are in the will of God and obeying His will there is not need for violence or vengeance because He not only watches out for us but He Himself takes care of those that that want to harm us. He got out backs so don’t stop spreading His message. Don’t be afraid!

  30. 4 “For I said to your ancestors when I brought them out of the iron-smelting furnace of Egypt, “If you obey me and do whatever I command you, then you will be my people, and I will be your God.”

Just like every relationship, there is a give and take. A compromise. When are in a relationship with God, He is asking for simple obedience. The crazy part, we are getting the better end of the deal! WE receive Him as our GOD! WIth Him all things are blessed! The advisory will do his best to give the delusion that submission to God is “too much”, yet the reality of simple obedience to God the rest of your needs will be meet. You automatically win with JESUS!

  31. “Say to them, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Cursed is anyone who does not obey the terms of my covenant! For I said to your ancestors when I brought them out of the iron-smelting furnace of Egypt, “If you obey me and do whatever I command you, then you will be my people, and I will be your God.” I said this so I could keep my promise to your ancestors to give you a land flowing with milk and honey—the land you live in today.’” Then I replied, “Amen, Lord! May it be so.””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:3-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    The covenant or the curse.

It really is our decision. We can rebel our way out of blessings or we can obey our way into His blessing.

  32. Jeremiah 11

4 For I said to your ancestors when I brought them out of the iron-smelting furnace of Egypt, If you obey me and do whatever I command you, then you will be my people, and I will be your God.

Follow our Lord Jesus Christ to have a real future of love, happiness and fulfillment.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  33. 10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

We must not refuse God and what he has to say. If we are to become great, we will need the Lord to do it for us. We will push past all unholy things and reach for those things that are right. As the children of the most high God, we have power over the enemy. It doesn’t matter how hard he tries to come at us, as long as we follow Christ, we can remain victorious.

  34. “but your ancestors did not listen or even pay attention. Instead, they stubbornly followed their own evil desires. And because they refused to obey, I brought upon them all the curses described in this covenant.’”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our natural desires without God in our lives, is to do sin we were all born into sin. But see with God in our lives we have a chance to change that and turn our lives from that and do good. Yet even though they had the choice to live a righteous life with God, some still chose to go their own way for they wanted to be “free”. I pray tonight that even though we want to do something but God told you to do something else I pray we obey his commands because in the end those who chose their way will suffer and those who trusted God and obeyed him will rejoice in victory.

  35. 3 And say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
4 Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:

Since Jesus is the God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He never changes. If people were cursed then for not following the commands of their forefathers, why should we expect it to be any different for us?

  36. Do you really think that animal sacrifice is going to make this all go away? Will you then be able to rejoice? 16 The Eternal once proclaimed you a lush olive tree, full of beautiful fruit. But all that has changed.

  37. 20 But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

Not everyone wants to hear the truth. The people he tried reminding of Gods commandments and loving kindness toward them want to cut him down. There forefathers were directed to live under Gods commandments but they don’t live by those rules. Their fathers turned their back on God and they have prospered this long, why would they want to listen to this young prophet? He is the warning siren they can’t turn off. So naturally they want to cut him down to shut him up. The Lord doesn’t want Jeremiah to pray for those who persecute him because he’s ready to exact the due wrath upon His wayward people.

God tries the heart of man. How will we respond when the man of God tells us the truth? Will we obey and do what is righteous or will we react like the wicked and backslide? Going against the man of Gods warning is dangerous. In this case it’s fatal. We should take heed of the alarm and repent. If we don’t it only hurts us. The man of God is going to be protected by the strong hand of the Lord. Becoming enmity with God and his prophet is the formula for disaster. The Word says ..touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm. Otherwise God becomes upset like the Father he is to us. He will be our avenger.

  38. They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

God did not call us to be captive to our past or to false Gods.the Israelites kept falling back into woman’s praising the false gods and the captors that God delivered them from

  39. 8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not.

To listen and obey sometimes might be challenging, but it is a must. When God speaks to you, you must always listen carefully m. One time at a youth conference the preacher gave a moment of silence for God to speak to us. Then he continued to say that if we didn’t hear anything then he probably has already told you something in the last, but He is waiting for you to do it. Once the instruction is given , it’s a must to be done. I pray tonight that you are always hearing for His word, and following the exact instructions given!!!

  40. 4 Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
5 That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Lord.

I remember this as I read it. He hasn’t just asked or commanded us to follow him and obey, but he has asked and commanded not just us but our fathers as well. And our fathers’ fathers! We are blessed, we say it all the time. . . But do we do in order to bless him back? Do we appreciate and show our love back? He loved us before we were even thought of and my parents for blesched. “. . . oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it. . .” What has He promised you?? Have you returned the love??

  41. “This is what the Lord says about the men of Anathoth who wanted me dead. They had said, “We will kill you if you do not stop prophesying in the Lord’s name.””(‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

When doing the work of God we must be fully confident in already knowing our Gods words of what he has promised us. We must also hold steadfast to his promises and be courageous and strong to stand against whatever the enemy throws at us. (‭2‭Corinthians‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬ for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

  42. “This is what the Lord says about the men of Anathoth who wanted me dead. They had said, “We will kill you if you do not stop prophesying in the Lord’s name.””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Threats, promises, and and actions carried out cannot compare to how God will protect us. Perfect Love casts out all fear. We have to trust in Jesus, even when doubt comes around to intimidate us.

  43. “and say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

My delight is in the law of the Lord, and I will meditate on the word day and night.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭1:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  44. Visitors

23 And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.

We all enjoy our Jesus moments. You know those times when you know it was him because how things worked out. Yet the reality is there is another kind of Jesus visitation we should never desire it’s when we have been so stubborn in our disobedience that he sends his wrath. Let’s strive for the good Jesus moments where he find ourselves laid out at his feet because of His goodness and mercy.

  45. “but your ancestors did not listen or even pay attention. Instead, they stubbornly followed their own evil desires. And because they refused to obey, I brought upon them all the curses described in this covenant.’””
    Jeremiah 11:8 NLT

God Has given us a covenant that helps us to live right and follow after Him. The people that God saved refused to listen to His instructions and followed their own heart’s desires. When we put our self desires above God, we are exalting ourselves higher than Jesus. That brings destruction and calamity upon those who break His covenant and no one can escape God judgment.

  46. 22 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:

23 And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.

God is telling us to obey his commandments and submit to him. If he punishes us is because we’re not headed the right direction. We need to open our eyes and see what all good we can become and show others by being a good example.

  47. “the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

All you have to do is obey the commands of the lord and you will reap the blessings. When you try and go off and do your own thing it will never work out in your favor. Just stay submitted to him and you will have nothing to worry about. Through the trials that may come as long as you stay submitted or him he will have your back and bring you through.

  48. “Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the men of Anathoth who seek your life, saying, ‘Do not prophesy in the name of the Lord, lest you die by our hand’— therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will punish them. The young men shall die by the sword, their sons and their daughters shall die by famine; and there shall be no remnant of them, for I will bring catastrophe on the men of Anathoth, even the year of their punishment.’ ”
    Jeremiah 11:21‭-‬23 NKJV

The Lord defends his anointed and chosen men. People should be careful to rise up against them in word, deed and rebellion. Even king David gives us the example to not touch the Lord’s anointed. If you are not in agreement about something, pray about it and let the Lord handle it. David did not have to take out his enemy, whom was the Lord’s anointed, but God sought to it that it was done.

  49. “The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, “Remind the people of Judah and Jerusalem about the terms of my covenant with them.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭11:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We should all be thankful we have a man of God to remind us of our covenants with God. And if he does so happen to remind us, let’s not get an attitude, big headed, or rebelling against what he says.

  50. Jeremiah Chapter 11

Jeremiah 11:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
Whose word came to Jeremiah. Answer: The word of the Lord.

    11:2 “Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. What is a covenant? A covenant is a Hebrew word agreement from verb signifying to cut or divided. Genesis Gen 15:9 He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a she-goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” also Jeremiah 34:18.19 And the men who transgressed my covenant and did not keep the terms of the covenant which they made before me, I will make like the calf which they cut in two and passed between its parts–Verse 19 the princes of Judah, the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf;
English word “covenant” ( latterly “a coming together”) a mutual undertaking between two parties or more, each binding himself to fulfill obligations,

In the New Testament as the following Galatians 3:13-29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. but the law does not rest on faith, for “He who does them shall live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us–for it is written, “Cursed be every one who hangs on a tree”– 14 that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15 To give a human example, brethren: no one annuls even a man’s will, or adds to it, once it has been ratified. 16 Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to off springs,” referring to many; but, referring to one, “And to your offspring,” which is Christ.
17 This is what I mean: the law, which came four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. 18 For if the inheritance is by the law, it is no longer by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise. 19 Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made; and it was ordained by angels through an intermediary. 20 Now an intermediary implies more than one; but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not; for if a law had been given which could make alive, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. 22 But the scripture consigned all things to sin, that what was promised to faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 Now before faith came, we were confined under the law, kept under restraint until faith should be revealed. 24 So that the law was our custodian until Christ came, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a custodian; 26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3: 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.

To summarize; This chapter 11 starts with Jeremiah hearing the Lord and the second verse 2 talks of a covenant. Unless we clearly understand the covenant starting with the rainbow a promise of God that the earth will never be flooded totally again, The covenant of Abraham, the covenant given to Moses and Israel, the covenant given to Moses in Deuteronomy for Israel, The covenant of David and the covenant of Jesus which we are in now. This is the better covenant for it is not based on law but Grace through faith Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. This is a red letter words or the words of Jesus. The words found in Acts 2:38.39 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
