Jeremiah 13

Thus saith the Lord unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.

So I got a girdle according to the word of the Lord, and put it on my loins.

And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying,

Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.

So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me.

And it came to pass after many days, that the Lord said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.

Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Thus saith the Lord, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the Lord; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

12 Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?

13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.

15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken.

16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord’s flock is carried away captive.

18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory.

19 The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.

20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?

21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?

22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.

23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.

25 This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the Lord; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.

26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.

27 I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?

  1. Jeremiah 13:25
This is your allotment, the portion I have assigned to you,” says the Lord, “for you have forgotten me, putting your trust in false gods.

Don’t forget about the Lord. He has not forgotten about you. He loves us so much that he sent his only son to die on a cross so we could have eternal life. Thank you Jesus.

    Deuteronomy 8:3-4,7-10,18
[3]Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the lord.
[4]For all these forty years your clothes didn’t wear out, and your feet didn’t blister or swell.
[7]For the lord your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills.
[8]It is a land of wheat and barley; of grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates; of olive oil and honey.
[9]It is a land where food is plentiful and nothing is lacking. It is a land where iron is as common as stone, and copper is abundant in the hills.
[10]When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.
[18]Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.

Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice for us and loving us and always providing everything we need.

Jeremiah stresses that just as alcohol affects judgment and impairs mobility so in the coming crisis men will behave as though inebriated, being unable to distinguish friend from foe or to defend themselves.

  3. 10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

Very much like todays world there is some people who refuse to hear from the Word Of God because they are walking in fleshly desires. God only has mercy on them for so long before they can turn back to him.

    Thank You Jesus!

  4. We cannot do only what we want to do, chasing after evil and think that there won’t be consequences because evil will be smashed as we read in the first 14 verses MSG. The beginning of verses 15-17 MSG says “Then I said, Listen. Listen carefully: Don’t stay stuck in your ways! It’s God’s Message we’re dealing with here. Let your lives glow bright before God before he turns out the lights, Before you trip and fall on the dark mountain paths. The light you always took for granted will go out and the world will turn black.” We have to tell that big dark mountain to move and let the light of Jesus guide you. We cannot afford to forget God and embrace the big lies of the enemy. LIVE-GIVE JESUS²

  5. 12. Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?

    13. Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

Everyone is a vessel, and everyone will be filled with something – it’s up to us what we are filled with. We can be humble and obedient and God will fill us with His Spirit to be used for His Kingdom…or we can be prideful and disobedient, and be full of ourselves and the spirit of the world and be useless and eventually destroyed.

  6. Jeremiah 13:10 ( Amp) This evil people , who refuse to hear My words, who walk in stubbornness of their heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and to worship them, shall even be like this girdle or waistcloth, which is profitable for nothing.
1 Sam. 15: 23 ( amp) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim ( good luck images) .
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he also has rejected you from being king.
To obey is better than sacrifice.
Some people with fleshly desires, and having their own hearts desires are okay.
Pleasing the Lord and his desires it want will save you and Me.
You must Be – Born- Again and Baptist in Jesus name.
I want to please you not this world , Help me Lord!

  7. Jeremiah Chapter 13

16 Give glory to the LORD your God before he brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the twilight mountains, and while you look for light he turns it into gloom and makes it deep darkness.
I speak to you as a grand father Our Lord needs glory given to him and He deserves it for our breath and heart beats are gifts given to us by Him. The Lord speaks; walk with me this day for it is a gift, I love you and long to have a relationship with all of you. Walk in My light for with out it there is darkness and hope is hard to acquire. I (Jesus) plead with you come to me all of you Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Jeremiah 13:17 But if you will not listen, my soul will weep in secret for your pride; my eyes will weep bitterly and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock has been taken captive. Jesus does not want any of his children or potential children in darkness.
Isaiah 55:6 “Seek the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; 7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

  8. 14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.

I know that my GOD is merciful but there comes a time when sometimes my DADDY has to say no more and gives us pow pow!!! If not HE wouldn’t be a loving GOD……. THERE HAS TO BE DISCIPLINE…..

  9. 10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the Lord; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

God will eventually have you serve him, the hard way or the easily way. You can not escape God!!

  10. 16 NLT “Give glory to the Lord your God before it is too late. Acknowledge him before he brings darkness upon you, causing you to stumble and fall on the darkening mountains. For then, when you look for light, you will find only terrible darkness and gloom.”
‭‭This is another warning from God of the consequences to come if they don’t change their ways while there is still time.
Don’t put it off any longer. Repent and turn to God!

  11. Jeremiah 13:7 & 10-11
    7) Then I went to Euphrates, and digged and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.

    10) This evil people, which refuse to hear my word, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
    11) For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

Just as the linen girdle cleaves (sticks, adheres, clings) to a man’s loins – waist, God wanted His chosen people, Israel, to cleave to Him. He wanted them to be His people; He wanted to make them a name; He wanted to make them a praise; and He wanted to make them a glory.
    BUT
Because they wouldn’t hear his Word; they walked in the imagination of their hearts; and they walked after other gods (idols) to serve and worship them, they became marred (spoiled, ruined, blemished, damaged, tarnished, stained, polluted) in God’s sight. They were good for nothing.

God wants no less for us today as His children. He wants us to cleave to Him. He wants us to Draw Nigh to Him.
    BUT
The only way we can do that is if we “cleanse our hands and purify our hearts.” Listen to and Obey His Word. Purify our hearts. Walk after God and only Serve and Worship Him.
If we Draw Nigh to God, He will Draw Nigh to us. He will make us a name; He will make us a praise; and He will make us a glory. He will make us into Something Good for His Kingdom sake.

    James 4:8-10
    8) Draw nigh to God, and he will draw night to you. cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
    9) Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
    10) Humble yourselves in the sight of the LORD, and he will lift you up.

  12. The Lord hates the sin of pride. You think you can over step everything. You think your big and bad enough to not notice God. You think you don’t need anybody to tell you what to do. Be careful… the Lord will test ho tough you really are.

“Give glory to the Lord your God before it is too late. Acknowledge him before he brings darkness upon you, causing you to stumble and fall on the darkening mountains. For then, when you look for light, you will find only terrible darkness and gloom.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  13. “This is what the Lord said to me: “Go and buy a linen loincloth and put it on, but do not wash it.” So I bought the loincloth as the Lord directed me, and I put it on. Then the Lord gave me another message: “Take the linen loincloth you are wearing, and go to the Euphrates River. Hide it there in a hole in the rocks.” So I went and hid it by the Euphrates as the Lord had instructed me.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:1-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jeremiah is an example for us in his unquestioning obedience even when what God told him to do didn’t make immediate sense to him. And this buying of the belt and what’s to follow certainly wasn’t understood by Jeremiah for a while – until the Lord revealed to him the meaning behind the activity. We, too, need to obey the Lord even when it doesn’t make sense.

  14. I love POFW! Live Jesus give Jesus 2. My God is all in all for us. Teacher, preacher, comforter, discipliner, mom, dad, counselor, grandma, grandpa, custodian, banker and everything we need. Jesus be the Lord of ALL! DONT delay get in with Jesus today!

  15. Pride broke nos destruction is that simple. The way God speaks of His people here is scary, I wonder ho He feels about us now. When the world seems upside down and no for the positive. I read yesterday about the father that killed his new born baby his reason because he didn’t want to pay child support. How much lower can we get. This world is a scary place, our Lord is coming soon and we need to make sure we are keeping humble, our lamps are filled with oil, and we are prepared for our Jesus!!!

  16. “Listen and pay attention! Do not be arrogant, for the Lord has spoken. Give glory to the Lord your God before it is too late. Acknowledge him before he brings darkness upon you, causing you to stumble and fall on the darkening mountains. For then, when you look for light, you will find only terrible darkness and gloom.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Above all give the Lord glory
Give him praise for everything. We got to always recognize who’s in control at all times no matter the situation. In every victory and in every defeat in everything Jesus deserves our praise. I believe most athletes that say “glory goes to God” really say that out of fear of the Lord because they know at any moment God could turn their situation upside down. My junior year in highschool I was so proud and arrogant and I always took home second place. When I returned my senior year and held an undefeated record I made a point to say a little prayer of faith for strength and endurance. I held that record for 36 wins then I faced a giant. I lost and I would tell anyone that asked that I was only gonna take my next matches one at a time. I would say I give God the glory but I think it was more out of the fear that he could turn my world upside down. I believe this was one of the many stepping stones it took for faith to rise in my life before being filled with the Holy Ghost.

So above all give God the glory. Because there’s nothing wrong with fearing what God can do we need to respect his power. “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  17. Jeremiah 13:15-17

5 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken.

Jeremiah was given the instructions to follow so that he would know just how God was feeling over Jerusalem. We may ask why we are asked to do things which make no sense to us at all if we are thinking with a carnal mind, Yet God’s instructions were to create a sensitivity for Jeremiah (who is known as the weeping prophet) . I believe God allows us to feel with His heart which creates a sense of urgency for us to reach others. I’ve had to
Change my why to who Lord . Is God trying one last time to reach a dying world ? Will we follow His instructions so that we can feel and see through Jesus Himself ? Live Give Jesus . Uncomfortable sometimes yes . Some may say why did Jeremiah have to follow the instructions given by God . How silly yet God had a purpose . Again we the body must adhere to the instructions or Hear which was repeatedly mentioned in this scripture Hear .
    Hear and Obey

  18. Jeremiah 13:15,16
Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken. Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

Here talks about pride which is sin, humble yourselves and repent before it’s too late.
    And give Him Glory!!

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Psalm 96:8 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
Amos 8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

  19. “Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Lord, help me remain humble in all I do. I need your grace and mercy.

“But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD and HAUGHTY, BUT [continually] GIVES [the gift of] GRACE TO THE HUMBLE [who turn away from self-righteousness].” So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people].”
    ‭‭JAMES‬ ‭4:6-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  20. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2

17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord’s flock is carried away captive.

It is a very sad thing to watch folk go into captivity. The sad thing is, the only person who cannot see they are headed into captivity is the one going in that direction. I have warned folks time and time again that less “church time” and more “me time” is a recipe for disaster. We must realize that pride blinds a person and the person thinks they are walking in the right direction, but is not

  21. “These wicked people refuse to listen to me. They stubbornly follow their own desires and worship other gods. Therefore, they will become like this loincloth—good for nothing!”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Being disobedient and worshipping false gods has caused The Lord to jealousy and anger. Don’t allow anything/anyone take the place of GOD in your life.

“You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭5:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  22. 15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken.
16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Prov 16:18 Pride blinds us and all we see is our own way, our own things. Pride is a dangerous sin as it prevents us from humbling ourselves and seeing things through God’s eyes.

  23. 16 give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause
Darkness and before your feet stumble stumble
Upon the dark mountains and while ye look for light
And he turns it into the shape of death and make it gross
    Darkness.

  24. 7 Then I went to the Euphrates and dug, and I took the waistband from the place where I had hidden it. And behold, the waistband was decayed and ruined; it was completely worthless.

God was warning Jeremiah that if the people did not have a change of heart that they were going to be carried away into captivity and just like this waistband that had been ruined, they would be ruined spiritually, held captive by their sins.

When we become too much like the world, we start picking up habits that are identified with the world, we will also become of no use to the kingdom of God, and if not careful we will be carried away into total carnality, little by little.

We become like Israel, we hear the Word of the Lord, but we through it over our shoulder, assuming it is for someone else, and soon we become calloused and in different, and so begins our journey into captivity. However, we can read beyond to see and know what happens to Israel, and we can awake from that slow fade into captivity. We have the opportunity to change our ending, now before it’s too late.

  25. 11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the Lord; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

We serve a jealous God who merely desires relationship with His creation. He desires us to be close to Him, to be His hands and feet, to be vessels that glorify Him!

  26. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    PRIDE AND WINE = CONFUSION

8 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
9 Thus saith the Lord, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

GOD uses an undergarment as an illustration to get our attention. As the fabric rotted it could no longer serve its purpose. Likewise as pride rules a heart, it can no longer serve the purpose of The Kingdom of GOD. Pride goes before destruction.

I saw something in this passage that I have never seen before:
In verse 13 The LORD said he was going to fill Israel with drunkeness. When I read this verse my mind went immediately to Acts 2.

Acts 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

Why would they think that they were drunk? Because they remembered the words of Jeremiah the prophet.

    But why drunkenness?

Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

JESUS confirms the Old Testament parable with this New Testament affirmation:

Luke 5:36 And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.
37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

The message being, for us to be renewed in the Holy Ghost everyday and never allow the garment, our body to be an old bottle, seeing that we are made new with by the Holy Ghost every time we pray in the SPIRIT.

  27. 26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.
27 I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?

Pride is a dangerous attitude in which the Lord ensures us that He will deal with it severely.

  28. 16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord’s flock is carried away captive.

When we witness to others and they do not turn to God, Do we weep and intercede for them ? When I did not respond to God’s dealing with me, My Mother wept and interceded for me and I am saved today.

  29. Praise the Lord !

Reading through these couple of verses it reminds me how stubborn/ prideful people can get hearing a Word from the Lord or when a unbeliver gets the gospel preach unto them. Just have to continue to pray for them.

    Proverbs 30:5-6 NIV
    5 “Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
6 Do not add to his words,
or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
    God bless !

  30. 15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken
16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

No matter how high or how far I get in life I want to keep my testimony in christ. Knowing and revering that he is the one who placed me in any part that I’m in. Not because I fear his rap but because I respect his authority and where I came from. Let me know never be in a place where I forget who brought me out of my Egypt. Let me always render the Lord as not only my father and savior but the God of all and respect him in judgment.

  31. 10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

Stop listening to the evils of this world and start listening to the dreams that God has helped you imagine for what He has for you to do in and for His Kingdom!

“And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭37:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  32. 3Then the LORD gave me another message: 4“Take the linen loincloth you are wearing, and go to the Euphrates River.a Hide it there in a hole in the rocks.”

Yes, go and put your sins, hurts, pride, unforgiveness, pain, etc. Hide anything that are hindrances to you and leave them there. Don’t go looking for them. God wants you to forget about your problems and let him take care of them. Trust in God.

  33. 23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

The will of God is for us to change our lives and turn away from sin, to stop ignoring him when we know the flesh is weak.

  34. And the word of the Lord came unto me

How many times has the lord spoken to us but we haven’t heard his voice. We allow the world to cloud out the voice of God we can’t let the world out shine God. God has to be our main focus of we want to be used then God must be the center of it all and not the world.

There are people in this world that God has blessed so much and they go out and show it off, instead of spreading the goodness that God can do. God has done so much for many of us yet we still don’t acknowledge him? I pray tonight that we change our mindset that we realize all that God has done for us and all he keeps doing for us. Let us start acknowledging the Lord and praise his name daily and give thanks unto him for all he has done for us. For he is worthy of all the praise!

  36. “These wicked people refuse to listen to me. They stubbornly follow their own desires and worship other gods. Therefore, they will become like this loincloth—good for nothing!”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God has a way of getting our attention. Whether it be the simple or hard way is your to us. When we choose to continue to not listen and follow after him we will reap the consequences.

  37. As a loincloth clings to a man’s waist, so I created Judah and Israel to cling to me, says the Lord. They were to be my people, my pride, my glory—an honor to my name. But they would not listen to me.
    Jeremiah 13:11 NLT

We were not meant to have all the answers, bit to long to God for He shall provide.

  38. As a loincloth clings to a man’s waist, so I created Judah and Israel to cling to me, says the Lord. They were to be my people, my pride, my glory—an honor to my name. But they would not listen to me.
    Jeremiah 13:11 NLT

We aren’t meant to have all the answers, but we can cling to the One who does.

  39. Jeremiah 13

10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

People often do what they want to do, not what they need to do. Taking what the world can tempt you to do? Trust in our Lord Jesus and be guaranteed to a loving fulfilling life.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  40. 15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken.

We all, at one point, have heard this saying; “don’t shoot the messenger”. The role that Jeremiah takes stood out to me the most in this chapter. Depending on which side one stands they may say that he his bringing an evil report. However, on the contrary, it is a massage of salvation, a message of repentance. Yet many times the prophet, the man of God gets blamed for the hard word he has delivered and people in their ignorance, foolishness and flesh go against the messengers of the Lord. They attack him without even knowing his heart where he stands and how he travails, and stands on the gap for the very same people he has to bring notice of the judgment of the Lord. “But if ye will not hear, my heart shall weep in secret places for your pride…” one should be counted blessed that God would even bother to give a warming to any people, or person. He is just trying to say hey something is wrong, get it fixed soon!

We all know that little check engine light. When you are going down the road and the little engine light goes of along with other warning signs, they are to not punish your car, but rather to alert you to take care of the problem or soon it will cause great damage, even a total loss.

The role of the man that God chooses to deliver a warning is not the problem that people should come against. He is only the light shining in your cluster saying something is off.

Thanks be to God that he sends his men to bring us the good news of the gospel and also warn us of judgment to come.

  41. 15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken

God does not want us to have pride, rather be humble. A prideful heart falls into trouble. Pride will lead down a dark path. When we humble ourselves before the Lord, our outcome is victory.

  42. 15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the Lord hath spoken.

Pride will cause us not to hear the voice of the Lord. Let us be very intentional in our relationship with God and not allow pride to stop our ears from hearing His voice.

  43. 21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?

Be careful who you invest in. Not everyone wishes us well and hides it with disguise. Friends, family and colleagues can turn their backs on you but God never will. Pouring our time and talent into helping and training others is a biblical principal like discipleship. However, pouring into a cup with holes in it will just waste energy, resources and time.

When his people are punished and carried away it will be from the very allies they trained. They will be overcome with emotion because once Gods wrath is unleashed their is no turning back either. The wicked will not return home but perish or be carried away by those they worked so hard to make their allies. This is why we must follow God and chose our allies carefully.

  44. “So I bought the loincloth as the Lord directed me, and I put it on.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭13:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A simple directive that Jeremiah followed. How many of us would have talked ourselves out of it because we didn’t understand the why behind it? We have to remember this walk is not about us but about Jesus. We live in His world and should be excited and attentive to what He has to show us

  45. Jeremiah 13:10 NLT
These wicked people refuse to listen to me. They stubbornly follow their own desires and worship other gods. Therefore, they will become like this loincloth—good for nothing!

When I follow my own desires and begin to take credit for all my accomplishments instead of giving Him the Glory, its worthless. When I look for more recognition there will always be a need for more. It will leave an emptiness in us that needs to be filled. Soon we will be willing to do anything to keep that feeling going. The only one that can fill an emptiness is Jesus. When we Give Him Honor and let His light shine through us there is fulfillment and peace.

  46. 26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.
27 I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?

There was the vicious cycle that the children of Israel kept repeating, yet, they would feel their shame and guilt. Time and time again, yet not fully changed. We should learn from this, so many of us or our neighbors fall back into sin yet feel the guilt and shame. Let’s be the ones to help them in their process to recovery.
