Jeremiah 29

Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon;

(After that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem;)

By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying,

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;

Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;

Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.

And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the Lord.

10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

15 Because ye have said, The Lord hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;

16 Know that thus saith the Lord of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;

17 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:

19 Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the Lord, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the Lord.

20 Hear ye therefore the word of the Lord, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon:

21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;

22 And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;

23 Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the Lord.

24 Thus shalt thou also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,

25 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

26 The Lord hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the Lord, for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks.

27 Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you?

28 For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

29 And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

30 Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,

31 Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the Lord concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:

32 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the Lord; because he hath taught rebellion against the Lord.

  1. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

This is one of my favorite scriptures. The Lord is so good to us.

If He dresses the lilies with beauty and splendor How much more will He clothe you? If He watches over every sparrow (don’t you worry!) How much more does He love you? (Our Father loves you) Jireh, You are enough (You’ve always been enough) And I will be content in every circumstance
    Jireh, You are enough

    Beautiful Things
    Song by Gungor

    All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change, at all
    All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found?
Could a garden come out from this ground, at all?

    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

    All around,
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found, in you

    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
    Oh, you make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

    You make me new,
    You are making me new
    You make me new,
    You are making me new
    (Making me new)

    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
    Oh, you make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

    You make me new,
    You are making me new
    You make me new,
    You are making me new

  2. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

    Proverbs 16:1,9,33
[1]We can make our own plans,
but the lord gives the right answer.
    [9]We can make our plans,
but the lord determines our steps.
    [33]We may throw the dice,
but the lord determines how they fall.

  3. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

There are people that do not believe the Bible or in God because there are many versions of doctrine and religions. If and when a diligent research of religious beliefs and their history is done, one will come to know the truth of the Lord because this scripture will not be mocked.

  4. 13. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

God doesn’t respond to half-hearted searching; it insults Him. Is that all we think of Him? Did He not create the heavens and the Earth? Did He not die on a cross for our sins? Is He not able to meet our every need? The least we could do is give Him our whole heart –
    He is Worthy!

  5. Jeremiah 29:4-7 & 10-14 (NLT)
    4) This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem:
    5) BUILD homes, and plan to stay. PLANT gardens and eat the food they produce.
    6) Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. MULTIPLY! Do not dwindle away!
    7) And WORK for the pace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. PRAY for the LORD for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.

    10) this is what the LORD says; You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised. And I will bring you home again.
    11) For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
    12) In those days when you pray, I will listen.
    13) If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
14)I will be found by you, says the LORD. I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.

There is a lesson to be learned here in these scriptures.
While going through hardship, suffering, or certain situations, God may not rescue us right away, BUT during that time, He has a Plan for us. One that will prosper us and give us a better future and a hope.
That’s why, while going through hardship, suffering, or certain situations, we just can’t sit idly by. We must BUILD, PLANT, MULTIPLY, WORK, and PRAY, because God’s got Greater Things In Store For Us!

Just take comfort in knowing, while you are going through hardship, suffering, or certain situations, that When You PRAY – HE WILL LISTEN, When You LOOK and SEEK for HIM with your Wholeheart – You WILL FIND HIM.

Thank You JESUS! YOU Are So FAITHFUL and MERCIFUL!!

  6. 10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

It brings me so much peace to know that there is NOTHING this world can do to me that my God can not handle!!! No matter if we are captives, no matter where we might be, or what situation, HE WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE US!!!! He knows how it will end all we have to do is TRUST HIM!!!! That’s all TRUST HIM with a blind trust. We wait upon Him, search for Him with our whole heart not half heartedly but with All our heart and we shall find Him.

  7. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The LORD JESUS has our life planned out for us all, not only as an individual but as a whole (church). So where is all the people that used to be a part of the body?
It’s not that someone said or looked at someone wrong that perhaps their feelings were hurt and never returned. It was caused by the voices they were listening to.
When we give ear to the lies of the enemy, then it will be easy to fall away from what is truth.
As a Christian we must be very attentive to ‘what saith the LORD,’ and not to what saith man. So in the midst of all of the chaos, fear, doubt, pestilence, wars, politics, etc. Be sure and be ready to hear the voice of truth…’His still small voice.’
That expected end that the LORD has for you, it’s yours for the taking! Don’t lose sight of it. It’s at your reach.

  8. I love POFW LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS 2 what I zero in for today’s reading is God is so good to us and takes excellent care of us. I need to work on not praying by only an outburst during the reason or answer I get on something I am urged to pray for or on needing an answer quickly. I need to seek God until he gives me an answer or a sign concerning what I need or ask. I am guilty of getting his first short comment and running with it. Forgive me Lord for not waiting for more.

  9. 6 Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.
7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

I love how they are in the middle of being disciplined for being disobedient and they are in Babylonian serving and God is still encouraging them to come back and to continue with his first instructions to mankind. One of the first commandments he gave adam was to be fruitful and multiply with Eve. No matter what state we are in God wishes for his personal relationship with us but also for us to increase where We are at. His desire is to see us grow and not to die out. What a mighty God we serve

  10. 11-13 NLT “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
    ‭‭
We cannot see into the future as God can. He has our lives already planned out. We just have to trust in Him. And wholeheartedly seek Him then we will find Him.

  11. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Such a beautiful message of hope and peace from Jeremiah even though Israel was being led into captivity. The prophet once again rebukes the charismatic prophets that would prophesy Israel would be returning home. Jeremiah instructs the people to be fruitful and multiply and to pray for the peace of Babylon.

How many books have you read that portray this side of God’s people praying for the enemy nation Babylon?

  12. This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem: “Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away! And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”
    Jeremiah 29:4‭-‬7 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/jer.29.4-7.NLT

No matter where He has us it is usually His intention for us to do well and prosper. If we’re in a situation that is scary or not ideal we can still do good in His Name and for our lives.

  13. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

The Lord gives hope in times of trouble and he will be with us even during the struggles of life when he seek him.

  14. Jeremiah 29

Though the people lived in Babylon God admonished them to seek after Him. We live in a world equivalent
to Babylon. Yet we must seek after God. The things of this world will continue to grow dinner and dinner as we keep our focus upon Jesus. His plans are to prosper us . His plans are for good not bad . He knows each and every step we take . He will fulfill His promises. Daily seeking after Him . Oh how He loves you and me .

  15. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

God’s ways are higher and God’s ways are greater. All we have to do is sincerely seek after Him and follow Him. God loves us and will never turn away a sincere soul.

  16. Jeremiah 29: 8 ( amp) For this says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your [ false] prophets and your diviners who are in midst deceive you; pay no attention and attach no significance to your dreams which you dream ,or to theirs.
    9) For they prophesy falsely to you in My name, I have not sent them , says the Lord.
Don’t be deceived, we must be saved!
Go and search and reach out for that dream that God has give you.
Hallelujah praise God for he is so good.

  17. 7 and seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carry away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it
: for in the peace thereof ye shall have peace.
    —-
In another version it says: Perdue the well being…
Pray to the Lord on its behalf…
    Pray for them
    Plead for them..
Wow, don’t we do the same for our city every year?
Aren’t we about to bless it in such a way?( milk and bread).
The Lord is good and merciful.
Do good and abstain from evil.
    Wish good and not bad
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
    Hallelujah 🙌
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Commit your way to the Lord
    And your plans shall succeed.
    Hallelujah 🙌
    The Lord is good.

  18. Verses 10-14 MSG ” This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. I’ll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you”—God’s Decree—“bring you home to the place from which I sent you off into exile. You can count on it.” There comes a time and place where you have to grow up and get serious. Many people are so blinded right now by the lies of this world, that they don’t see all the signs coming to pass. But, do we have that kind of hunger for Him, to seek Him, to stop at nothing to find Him?? This remiknds me of a song that I love in Spanish called “Tengo Hambre de Ti”:

Por un momento en Tu precencia
Por un instante de Tu amor
Por un destello de Tu gloria
    Por un minuto nada mas

    Todo daria, no importaria
    lo que tenga que pasar
    lo que tenga que esperar…

    Tengo hambre de Ti
    de Tu presencia
    de Tu fragancia
    de Tu poder

    Hambre que duele
    Que debilita
    Que desespera
    Por Ti, Señor Jesus
    Tengo hambre de Ti

Not sure how well it translates in English:
For a moment in Your presence
For an instant of Your love
For a flash of Your glory
    For a minute nothing more

Everything I would give, it would not matter
    whatever has to happen
whatever I have to wait …

    I’m hungry for you
    of your presence
    of Your fragrance
    of Your power

    Hunger that hurts
    That weakens
    That despairs
    For You Lord Jesus
    I’m hungry for you

  19. 30 Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,

When I read this 3 verses what came to mind is got to make sure that anyone that comes to talk to you about God that it is what His Word says.
    Thank You Jesus

  20. 10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

God said he would bring the people of Judah back after 70 years. He told them to adapt to the city of Babylon and live there in peace. The false prophets were telling them something different and God punished those false prophets. Sometimes it’s good to be content in whatsoever state we find ourselves. God has a wonderful blessing at the end of the road.

  21. 31 Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the Lord concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:

32 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the Lord; because he hath taught rebellion against the Lord.

We must be careful who we listen to. Shemiah prophesied falsely to the Israelites and we read here his punishment. Yet imagine how those that listened to him felt. Deception is so easily inserted into ones life if they are not praying and hearing the word of the Lord daily. It so easy to get caught up in life that we just take what someone says as gospel without searching it out for ourselves.

The scripture is clear when it says, try the spirit and see if they be of God. It also says there is wisdom in a multitude of counsel. If you can’t find what is being said in the word of God, and if it disagrees with what the man of God is saying, you might ought to check the fruit on the life of the one saying it.

People can talk a good talk, but are they walking a good walk?

  22. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    SPEAK PEACE

7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

There is no greater emotion than living in PEACE. The PEACE of GOD generates FAITH, HOPE and JOY even in troubling times and situations. We are instructed to pray for the PEACE of Israel

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

I speak PEACE over my family, our church, our city, our friends and nation everyday because verse 7 says to PRAY unto the LORD for PEACE and you will have PEACE.

  23. Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Our plans are not His plans but if we have faith and trust in Him, everything thing is for god. Let go and let God handle it.

  24. In reading this scripture I took a look at some past notes and I found something that is perfect to what God has spoken in Jeremiah 29.

In studying I looked into burns, cause we all know Fire, well burns. As you may know there are different types of burns, 1st degree, 2nd degree, 3rd degree, and even a 4th degree. At some point in our lives we have all suffered through some type of burn; sunburn, irons, and even from cooking, not me. However, the more serious the burn, the more intense the healing process. There is a misconception that a 3rd degree burn is the most painful, but thats not the case, when the burn is this severe, the nerves are damaged. Without surgery, these wounds will heal with severe scars, deformity, and a restraint of movement.

So we can stand here and thinking that we’ve got it all together because there isn’t any pain, allowing the nerve damage to give us an illusion that everything’s alright, allowing the wounds to heal on their own. So we stand there with severe scars, deformities and unable to move.

And the whole time, Jesus is saying call on Me, and I’ll take care of it. Ask me.

So tonight, with a humble and very open spirit, I want us to take a look at our scars, our deformities, and give them to Jesus. Allowing Him to scrape away the damaged tissue, to open and clean our wounds, so it can heal as He see’s. So that we can overflow

    Jeremiah 29 states:

“I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.
When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.”

“Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”

    • Jeremiah 29

14 I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you, declares the LORD, and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.

Those who seek God with all their heart, will find Him and experience His renewal. God gives people a chance to make a better life for themselves. We must know our Lord and beware of false teachings from others. This is why we study His word, go to a church that teaches the truth.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  25. 7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

Pray for your city. It is more than just a suggestion. It’s biblical to pray for your city. We ought to pray that there may be peace in it. Furthermore, we ought to pray that there will be a revival. That God will draw the souls of the people living in the city to him. That is the best way to be blessed in the city that you live in. When the people come to know God and surrender their lives to him. Then He will fill them with His Spirit and they will have the fruit of the Spirit. Against that, there is no law. That is the best way to live blessed and peaceful in your city. Yes pray for the governing authorities, and law enforcement, the first responders, the courts and all the people in it. Declare your city for the honor and Glory of God. And pray to partner with God that you may reach your city.

  26. 8 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the Lord.

There will be some that come that are not sent by the Lord. Be careful of who you listen to. When God sends them, the things that are declared will come to pass. The false prophets will tell you things to just tickle your ears. They will tell what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear. God word is true and will always be.

  27. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We need to trust in the Lord at all times, for he hold our future in his hands. All we go through God has already seen for he has prepared it and prepared us for it. Trust in him for all your trials you wonder why you go through, he guides you through and makes you stronger and wiser wether you realize it or not. No evil is this world can come against you for you are under Gods protection and he will help you rise and not fall. God will make us stronger and wiser and the enemy will make you weaker.

  28. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The lord does not want us to fail he wants us to prosper. He will never leave bore forsake us. His word never fails. His instructions leads us and guides us all we have to do is obey. Trust and obey him! Everything else will fall into place.

  29. 7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

This is our city. There are many things in this generation that are just not okay. Many people around us may do things, that we know is not right. I am so blessed and privileged to have grown up in church. I have been ✨apostolic✨ my whole life, and forever plan to be. I want the whole world to know who and what I stand for!!! I believe in one God that we serve!!! I believe that nothing is or will veer be greater than Him!!! I pray tonight that we are showing His truth to others in this desperate need of this world!!!

  30. 18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:

    Amen

  31. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Gods plans are so much more than ours. As we seek Him with all our hearts we will find Him and in Finding Him we find all we need and desire. In finding Him we gain relationship with Him and great promise from Him

  32. 8 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

Captivity is an opportunity to put a reset on their relationship with God. They will be in Babylon for seventy years so they may as well get comfortable but not too comfortable. Some will die and some will grow up there. Both need to know the goodness of the Lord. They were sent away and spared from wrath to pursue peace in a foreign land. The resounding caution God leaves them with is not to listen to the lies of false prophets. Don’t be lead astray again. Don’t let the same mess beat you twice.

  33. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Sometimes in situations we may feel like “where’s God?” when we need Him, have you sought out for Him? He’s always near, we just have to look.

  34. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Call on the Lord and pray to Him. . . He hears our prayers!! Matthew 7:7 “
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Seek after the Lord with your whole heart, you have to be completely in it to see the gains. Half heartedly will not do. Step back and examine your relationship. What is your stance??

  35. “therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must ensure our words reflect our actions. Shemaiah’s words didn’t reflect his actions. He said he spoke on behalf of the Lord but his actions showed that he lied to the people. In turn, God said he would be punished because he taught them how to rebel against the Lord. If we are going to speak His word, our action must be to read His Word So we know the Word

  36. ““Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away!”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I really liked what God told those that were exiled! He wanted to make sure they didn’t give up just because the scenario they were put in wasn’t the most ideal, He still wanted them to prosper. Sometimes we find ourselves in a place of despair so it seems like it would be easy to throw in the flag and abandon any idea of a brighter tomorrow, but that’s not the case. Yes, we may need to set up camp in our valley of despair but don’t let it consume you, push forward and make sure you’re still growing spiritually and mentally! There is an out coming, you just gotta do some growing before it gets here!

  37. ““Send an open letter to all the exiles in Babylon. Tell them, ‘This is what the Lord says concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Since he has prophesied to you when I did not send him and has tricked you into believing his lies, I will punish him and his family. None of his descendants will see the good things I will do for my people, for he has incited you to rebel against me. I, the Lord, have spoken!’””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:31-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬
There’s a price every false prophet must pay, The Bible is so amazing to me, When you believe this word 100 percent then every single day this bible will blow you away. Everything that was sent before them was from the Lord then when this false prophet comes up the Lord take scare of him as well. Go really is in control of every single thing..

  38. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

HIS thoughts obviously are not like our thoughts most of the time, but if we seek HIS face and seek to do HIS will then we can accept most of it with flying colors
