Jeremiah 34

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,

Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:

And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but shalt surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.

Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the Lord of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:

But thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will lament thee, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the Lord.

Then Jeremiah the prophet spake all these words unto Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,

When the king of Babylon’s army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah: for these defenced cities remained of the cities of Judah.

This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;

That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

10 Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.

11 But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.

12 Therefore the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

13 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,

14 At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

15 And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

16 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

17 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,

19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;

20 I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.

21 And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which are gone up from you.

22 Behold, I will command, saith the Lord, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.

  1. 5 But thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will lament thee, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the Lord.

If life must go on, I should live in is peace.

    Philippians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

  2. Verses 17-20 ERV “So this is what the Lord says: ‘You people have not obeyed me. You have not given freedom to your fellow Hebrews. So, because you have not given them freedom, I will give a special kind of freedom—freedom to die in war or by disease or by hunger! This message is from the Lord. When the other nations see what I have done to you, they will all be shocked. I will hand over those who broke my agreement and have not kept the promises they made before me. They cut a calf into two pieces before me and walked between the two pieces.[b] These are the people who walked between the two pieces of the calf when they made the agreement before me: the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the important officials of the court, the priests, and the people of the land. So I will give them to their enemies and to everyone who wants to kill them. Their bodies will become food for the birds of the air and for the wild animals of the earth.” God does not take it lightly when we break covenant/agreement/promises as we read in these verses. God cannot bless bad decisions. Ecclesiastes 5:4-7 ERV says “If you make a promise to God, keep your promise. Don’t be slow to do what you promised. God is not happy with fools. Give God what you promised to give him. It is better to promise nothing than to promise something and not be able to do it. So don’t let your words cause you to sin. Don’t say to the priest,[a] “I didn’t mean what I said.” If you do this, God might become angry with your words and destroy everything you have worked for. You should not let your useless dreams and bragging bring you trouble. You should respect God.”

  3. 16. But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom ye had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

    17. Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

    John 8:36 KJVS
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

God doesn’t set us free just to be in bondage again; we do that to ourselves when we don’t obey His Word.

    Now I belong to Jesus
I’m a child of the King
    I traded filthy garments
    For a robe of royalty
The chains that used to bind me
Are now laying at my feet
    You see the devil
    Can’t make a lock
That my God doesn’t hold the key.

He that the Son has set free
    Is free indeed.
    No more chains of slavery
    Truth has triumphed
    With liberty.
He that the Son has set free
    Is free indeed.

  4. Jeremiah 34: 17 ( amp) Therefore thus says the Lord, You have not listened to Me and obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty each one ,to his brother and neighbor, Behold, I proclaim to you liberty to the sword, to pastilence and to famine, says the Lord, and I will make you to tossed to and fro and be a horror among, all the kingdoms of the earth!
God gives liberty and freedom, It’s better for me and you listen and obey the Lord, and be committed than not to be committed.
Obeience is a better than a sacrifice.
    Yes you should obey God!
Lord what can I do for you today!

  5. Gracias senor JESUS por haberme salvado de la esclavitud en la que estaba consumida y sometida .gracias por la libertad y el Amor incondicional.

  6. Because you have broken the terms of our covenant, I will cut you apart just as you cut apart the calf when you walked between its halves to solemnize your vows.
    Jeremiah 34:18 NLT

Most people prefer to read about The Great and wonderful merciful God that we have, they love to hear about how lovely and how much he blesses us, and usually shy away from talking about when God has had enough. While it’s understandable to prefer the mercy of God over everything else what most people feel to realize is that and God has gotten to that point where he has given them every opportunity to change and to do what is right and there is no excuse. Because he has given every opportunity to change and repent and his grace has been taken advantage of.

  7. I love pofw LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS 2! Well here I am with the command of ” obedience is better than sacrifice” and God proves it in our reading today. God is so good but he expects us to keep our word. And yes in our day we get a lot of chances thru Jesus’s mercy and forgiveness. But live everyday like Jesus is coming today and peace and comfort you and I will have.

  8. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
The commandment to let the slaves go free was ignored and this really made God angry. God was willing to save these people and forgive them yet they couldn’t even forgive the debt due them. The same is true today. We must forgive to be forgiven

  9. 2 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:

3 And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but shalt surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.

We have to follow God and put him first in our life’s before we put anything else or anyone else. We have to walk in spirit and in truth.

  10. “Because you have broken the terms of our covenant, I will cut you apart just as you cut apart the calf when you walked between its halves to solemnize your vows. Yes, I will cut you apart, whether you are officials of Judah or Jerusalem, court officials, priests, or common people—for you have broken your oath. I will give you to your enemies, and they will kill you. Your bodies will be food for the vultures and wild animals.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:18-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬
God is respecter of persons, He dont like it when you dont listen. When we were called and filled with the Holy Ghost last i checked the father the son and the Holy Ghost were all the same, and that Holy Ghost says i did not come for the righteous but for the sinners to a call of a repentance. Jesus called you to use you to save the lost and if you dont you’re breaking the same rules this guy did…I dont wanna be cut down by the Lord. Just obey the commandment and watch what God will do in your life!

  11. 16 NLT But now you have shrugged off your oath and defiled my name by taking back the men and women you had freed, forcing them to be slaves once again.
18 NLT Because you have broken the terms of our covenant, I will cut you apart just as you cut apart the calf when you walked between its halves to solemnize your vows.”

Don’t make a covenant with God if you don’t intend on keeping it. He will not be mocked. You will suffer the consequences of your broken words.

  12. 22 Behold, I will command, saith the Lord, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.

JUDAH = Praise!!!! Imagine a Praise without inhabitants!!! It can not exist!!! Do not allow a rock to cry out in our place!!! Do not wait until is so late that you find yourself captive in the death of sin without being able to let out a PRAISE!!!! We were MADE TO PRAISE HIM!!! No need to look for your purpose for your purpose is to PRAISE HIM!!!

  13. Jeremiah 34:15-16
[15]Recently you repented and did what was right, following my command. You freed your slaves and made a solemn covenant with me in the Temple that bears my name.
[16]But now you have shrugged off your oath and defiled my name by taking back the men and women you had freed, forcing them to be slaves once again.

When you make covenants with God keep those covenants. Fellowship and communion with God are covenants.

    Deuteronomy 4:13
[13]He proclaimed his covenant—the Ten Commandments—which he commanded you to keep, and which he wrote on two stone tablets.

    Deuteronomy 7:9
[9]Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.

    Exodus 19:5
[5]Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.

  14. 20 I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.

The Lord is holy and just. It is one thing not to be blessed, but it a fearsome thing to have the hand of God against you because of disobedience.

  15. Jeremiah 34:15-17 (AMP)
    15) So then you recently turned and repented, doing what was right in My sight, each man proclaiming release (from servitude) to his countryman (who was his bond servant); and you made a covenant before Me in the house which is called by My Name.
    16) Yet you backed out (of the covenant) and profaned My Name, and each man took back his servants, male and female, whom had been set free in accordance with their desire, and you brought them into servitude (again) to be your male servants and your female servants.
    17) Therefore says the LORD, You have not obeyed Me; you have not proclaimed liberty to your brother or your countryman. Behold (listen very carefully), I am proclaiming liberty to you — (liberty to be put) to the sword, (liberty) to (be ravaged by) the virulent disease, and (liberty) to (be decimated by) famine, says the LORD; and I will make you a horror and a warning to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Be careful in making a Covenant (in the verb form – pledge, promise, vow, etc…) before the LORD. Make sure you keep it, for if you don’t, you will be considered a Covenantbreaker (Rom. 1:31). And knowing the judgment of God, that they which do such things are worthy of death,… (Rom. 1:32).
We find Covenantbreakers here in these verses, and they came under the judgment of God. They would die by the sword, disease, and famine.

The WORD Of GOD is POWERFUL!
The WORD Of GOD is TRUE!
Don’t Take The WORD Of GOD Lightly!

  16. 15 And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

16 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

They broke their promise and God sends destruction on those who did. We reap what we sow and he takes no pleasure in having to judge, But these people were were rebellious in every way. Obedience is better than sacrifice…
    I Sam 15:22

  17. Recently you repented and did what was right, following my command. You freed your slaves and made a solemn covenant with me in the Temple that bears my name. But now you have shrugged off your oath and defiled my name by taking back the men and women you had freed, forcing them to be slaves once again.
    Jeremiah 34:15‭-‬16 NLT

Repentance is a full turning away, an agreement to not do whatever God said anymore, ever again. Too often we get used to just asking forgiveness. A one and done deal to wash us for the moment or for the day. Then later on we go right back to it and it becomes a continuous cycle of asking for forgiveness without true repentance.

God is looking for people who will give Him their full commitment. Those who will truly repent before Him, do a complete 180 and keep their eyes locked on Him, never turning back to what He called us away from. Now is not time to play games running back and forth, and test the limits of a quick wash and go forgiveness. Now is the time for true worshippers to rise and continually set their feet towards the mark, towards the Kingdom, towards God!

  18. 17 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,

A covenant is important to God and it’s best to keep it and not break it because the minute you break it that’s when you will find yourself backsliding far more away from God.
Keep the covenant you make with God!
    Thank You Jesus! Hallelujah!!

  19. Therefore, this is what the Lord says: Since you have not obeyed me by setting your countrymen free, I will set you free to be destroyed by war, disease, and famine. You will be an object of horror to all the nations of the earth.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The people of Jerusalem had a great opportunity to obey God and do good to their fellow Hebrews by proclaiming liberty to those who were already free by the law of Moses. They did not obey God and missed this great opportunity. Let’s not miss our opportunity. Let’s be obedient in all that we do.

  20. Jeremiah 34
    Broken Promises
5-16 “‘And now, you—what have you done? First you turned back to the right way and did the right thing, decreeing freedom for your brothers and sisters—and you made it official in a solemn covenant in my Temple. And then you turned right around and broke your word, making a mockery of both me and the covenant, and made them all slaves again, these men and women you’d just set free. You forced them back into slavery.

Our world has become a world of broken promises.
We can see that as far back as in the Bible promises have been broken . Is it to hard to follow through when a promise is made? Would it have been better to not promise ? It looked like the people were finally going to do what was right but the. They turned right back around and did the very thing they had just fine right. There was a judgement. Death came to then . They lost their city and their very life . There are consequences that will come . Broken Promises
    Ecclesiastes 5:5
Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

My concern is those who continue in sin and think before it is too late they will repent but God’s word states there are some who will not even be able to repent .
I never realized til recently that there comes a time in someone’s life that repentance could not be found .
I recall a message my husband preached Kissing the door of Heaven and going to Hell .
How sad to be so close and then miss out on Heaven .
Broken Promises. God help us to stay close to You and your word.
    Hebrews 12:17
“For yee know how that afterward when hee would haue inherited the blessing, hee was reiected: for hee found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with teares.”

  21. Because you have broken the terms of our covenant, I will cut you apart just as you cut apart the calf when you walked between its halves to solemnize your vows. Yes, I will cut you apart, whether you are officials of Judah or Jerusalem, court officials, priests, or common people—for you have broken your oath. (Jeremiah 34:18, 19 NLT)

A covenant back in this time was very powerful. I’m reminded of Bro Godwin’s message when he expounded on this. There was sacifice, blood shed and agreement. If it was broken then that party would end up as the sacificed animal.
The same is for us today. Our Lord Jesus was our sacifice, who bled and died for our sins. We have entered into that convenant with after baptism in Jesus name and bring filled with the Holy Ghost. If we break that covenant by going back to continue in sin we will end up in death.

  22. vs-17
    Freedom
Human beings foolishly assume that FREEDOM is the right to do whatever they please without restraint or restriction. the sarcastic comment here underlines a great reality. People can do whatever they please but they cannot choose to avoid to avoid the consequences of their actions. True freedom is found in obeying God who directs us to that path which brings reward rather than punishment blessing rather than curse joy rather punishment blessing than curse joy rather than grief .
    O how true this is
There is another thing that must be done to have your freedom which i think is the most important. You have to line up and be under authorty to our Pastor. You will not be free if you dont.
No one is ever FREE from the consequnces of his or her choices.

  23. God does not give commands or orders only for His pleasure. He never does anything for only one reason. When God gives a Word for us to do something it is because He sees things we do not see and we need only trust in Him.

  24. 10 Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go

That must’ve been a very hard decision to make , so hard that they decided to take them back and disobey!!! How many times do we obey GOD and then return or just think about going back to before as if GOD had not spoken?

  25. 16 Yet you backed out [of the covenant] and profaned My Name, and each man took back his servants, male and female, whom had been set free in accordance with their desire, and you brought them into servitude [again] to be your male servants and your female servants.” ’

It’s very dangerous to go back on your covenant, as we see in this chapter.

  26. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    THE CHALLENGE OF LETTING GO

Bondage is a deadly addiction. JESUS in this Old Testament illustration presents salvation to the Jews. But they didn’t fully understand or receive it. Israel began to miss the convenience of a servant. They became dependent on others to accomplish their daily tasks.

This same principal is popular today in the natural and spiritual realm. We live in a society that is becoming more and more dependent on “someone else” a government, family member, leader or such to provide for them. In the natural food, clothes and shelter, in the spiritual peace, safety and direction.

However the main principal in this passage is about FORGIVENESS and LETTING GO of a dependance on someone or something else. JESUS illustration here is about HIS future to them and current to us redemption. Through the Blood of JESUS our sins are remitted, washed, clean, we are no longer slaves to them. Grudges, addictions and habits are all delivered.

We are CHALLENGED with the of LETTING GO of these feelings of reliance on or dependance on a lifestyle that was destructive but familiar.

LIVE JESUS today and LET GO of people, places and things that you have become dependent on and SERVE THE LORD will all our hearts.

  27. 15 And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

16 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

17 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

This is how the enemy works in our lives. We have been bought with a price, purchased by blood, set free from our past and those things that had us bound, yet the enemy tries to convince us that we aren’t really free. He tries to tell us that we cannot escape the bondage, that we will be forever bound.

God’s word cannot lie. We have been liberated and freed, now it’s up to us to walk in that freedom, and to not return back into bondage by our words or actions.

John 8:36 -If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

  28. 18 Because you have broken the terms of our covenant, I will cut you apart just as you cut apart the calf when you walked between its halves to solemnize your vows.

Your indecision to serve God or the devil. This will cut you apart. Just like Bro Fish said, the cow was in the middle, and we have to make decisions whom we will serve. Many want to balance the middle of the road mentality, but you can’t do that with God. You have to be fully committed to serve, worship and praise God.

  29. ““‘But listen to this promise from the Lord, O Zedekiah, king of Judah. This is what the Lord says: You will not be killed in war but will die peacefully. People will burn incense in your memory, just as they did for your ancestors, the kings who preceded you. They will mourn for you, crying, “Alas, our master is dead!” This I have decreed, says the Lord.’””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:4-5‬ ‭NLT

Though we slip and fall into sin, yet, OUR LORD JESUS extends His mercy toward us. To die in peace and not in war JESUS keeps His covenant with humanity, His creation.
“Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: According to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  30. 8 This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;

9 That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

Many times we miss the kingdom concept and end up sinning against God. Notice how at the beginning of the chapter the word of God came to the man of God to be delivered to the king himself. God was addressing the leader of the people. From the King of kings to a earthly king. When a king speaks and proclaims something, that is simply the law in his kingdom. Now, we may say that the people rebelled against the orders or covenant of a man. Yet this man was a king, and his word is law in his kingdom. If they rebelled against this kingdom which they can hear clearly, touch and see how they will they hear and obey the laws of the King of kings. The principle was to obey the laws of the kingdom. Yes, Zedekiah made the covenant with the people to set slaves that were Hebrew at liberty. However, God took it personal for he saw the condition of their rebellious heart.

Now we should bring it into perspective to your times and understanding. Has man spoken in behalf of God and we have not obeyed? Perhaps to the preaching, a prophecy, an exhortation that God is trying to do something or wanting us to change and repent? The question is have we obeyed and then turned back?

We must remember that what the King speaks to his kingdom, is law.

  31. 9 That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

This is like the Devil and his workers, when God says let the people go free. He comes back and tries to put them back under subjection.
John 8:36, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

  32. “Recently you repented and did what was right, following my command. You freed your slaves and made a solemn covenant with me in the Temple that bears my name. But now you have shrugged off your oath and defiled my name by taking back the men and women you had freed, forcing them to be slaves once again. “Therefore, this is what the Lord says: Since you have not obeyed me by setting your countrymen free, I will set you free to be destroyed by war, disease, and famine. You will be an object of horror to all the nations of the earth.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:15-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus freed them from their past and bondage, they then decided they did not want to live for Him or obey His word so Jesus freed them from His protection.

You can either be a slave to this world and sin or a servant to the Lord.

When you’re a salve to the world it comes with hate, guilt and uncertainty.

When you serve the Lord it comes with love, peace and joy.

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    • 4 yet hear the word of the lord O zedekiah king of Judah
Thus saith the Lord of thee tho shall not die by the sword.
He is not telling him something bad is goi g to happen to him, but the Lord had given him with detail everything that is going to happen exactly the way the Lord said it to Jeremiah.
Hear the word of the Lord…
Last night the word that the man of God delivered to us was very straight forward
      Very clear and specific…
      I was convicted and repent…
👉🏼 Hear the word of the Lord…
      I did( we did).
We can’t make God change hugs mind
But when people repent and he knows it, things changed.

  33. Jeremiah 34

16 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

Do not go back on your word to God. If you want to experience the wrath of God, be ready for death, despair, bondage etc…. Love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and life will be worthwhile for you.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  34. 17 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

Too many people have turned away from God. They will not listen to his word or abide by it. They want to do their own thing and then wonder why things are in disarray. When things in your life begin to be turned upside down, it time to check to see where your spirit lies. Yes, those that serve God faithfully will have some tough times, but God will bring them through. Then there are those who do not follow God’s directions and the trouble seems to never leave. The victory is never won. When we follow after our God faithfully, he will direct our paths and give us the strength to deal with whatever comes our way.

  35. “Those who have violated my covenant and have not fulfilled the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will treat like the calf they cut in two and then walked between its pieces.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we repent each day if we don’t mean what we say and we continue living the way that we are knowing God is not pleased with our actions, than there wasn’t any reason to repent, it then just becomes something you get to check off your check list to say I did that today. When we repent we are to mean it and turn from our ways that we’re leading us towards the world and away from the things of God.

  36. “Therefore, this is what the Lord says: Since you have not obeyed me by setting your countrymen free, I will set you free to be destroyed by war, disease, and famine. You will be an object of horror to all the nations of the earth.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When obeying the Lord we cannot half way finish it because you don’t want to do the rest anymore, we must fully obey or there will be consequences. I pray we realize that it is not fair that God gave his life for us just to let him go and not live for him faithfully, God has done so much for us so it is our turn to do it back. Even when we don’t understand the plan we must faithfully do it and do it full heartedly, later on God will show you why he had you do it and what the purpose was. Trust in the Lord always for his planning has a great reason behind it, it is our time to live for him faithfully after all he continues to do for us.

  37. God is so good but he expects us to keep our word. And yes in our day we get a lot of chances thru Jesus’s mercy and forgiveness.

  38. 17 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

God is requiring full obedience and submission. It’s not enough to do well at first and the turn ones heart back to the very thing He called you away from. His coming is so close and it would be a shame to turn around now.

  39. 17 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

Some people are slowly turning away from God. They are thinking out of their own flesh. People tend to turn away from God for many different reasons. God is the only one who can save and deliver! Why are you doubting Him? He is the only one who can do ANYTHING! We should never ever take a doubt about God, but stand strong to His word. I pray tonight that we are all being true leaders of the gospel, and not turning away but bringing more to His word!!!

  40. “So then you recently turned and repented, doing what was right in My sight, each man proclaiming release [from servitude] to his countryman [who was his bond servant]; and you had made a covenant before Me in the house which is called by My Name. Yet you backed out [of the covenant] and profaned My Name, and each man took back his servants, male and female, whom had been set free in accordance with their desire, and you brought them into servitude [again] to be your male servants and your female servants.” ’”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:15-16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We can’t have commitment issues in our relationship with god. We have to honor our commitments. He doesn’t force us to make the commitment we choose to. So if we choose to we need to honor it. We can keep falling short because we don’t want to commit. Commitment is like a vow unto god. Just like in a marriage you make vows and honor them the same applies with god.

  41. “But now you have shrugged off your oath and defiled my name by taking back the men and women you had freed, forcing them to be slaves once again.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When we make God first in our life and surrender to Him God begins to remove all things that may hinder our walk with Jesus. God sets us free from all the chains, don’t return to the thing that bounded you but seek Jesus first and His kingdom and all things shall be added unto you. To follow Jesus is eternal life but following after the world is death.

  42. Jeremiah 33:34

    8 This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;

9 That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrews, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

It makes God mad when we make covenant and do not keep it. The above covenant Jeremiah 33:8-11 was broken by those that made it. who were all the princes, and all the people.

Leviticus 26:15-16 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

Deuteronomy 4:13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. For us we have a covenant written in stone and placed in our hearts to obey them.

    Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. Psalm 14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

What is the punishment for breaking this covenant? Jeremiah 34:16-22 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

    19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;

This breaking of the covenant cost them their lives. Because they were made captives of the Babylonians.

    • After reading the above and turning our backs to the Lord of hosts and choose to live the way we want to instead of what has been instructed by the Bible and not repent. We to have broken the covenant that we were given through the word of God. We to may also receive the mark of the beast for the we must place faith in Jesus Christ and walk according his will for he will protect us or dispatch us to his Kingdom before the rapture.

  43. 18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
    19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;
20 I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.

Do as the Lord says. It is a sad day as to when this instance does not occurs. The passage above states. What and Why?? It’s simple yet complicated. And why??

  44. “Because you have broken the terms of our covenant, I will cut you apart just as you cut apart the calf when you walked between its halves to solemnize your vows.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭34:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We have to watch what we vow ourselves to do or what we commit to. A broken covenant not only destroys the integrity of your word but it also ruins relationships. I pray we say what we mean and mean what we say.
