Jeremiah 35

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;

And I brought them into the house of the Lord, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:

And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.

But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:

Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.

Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;

Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:

10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

11 But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.

12 Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,

13 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord.

14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

16 Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:

17 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.

18 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:

19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

  1. 5 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

God always send someone to tell the lost to come to repentance and only serve Him. God is so good.. He doesn’t want none of us to perish but those who fail to listen will lose their life.
    Thank You Jesus!!

  2. 19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

  3. “And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What a blessing it is to live in obedience to your physical father. We see here how these people lived not according to the ways of the world. They weren’t drunk, but they showed discipline, they weren’t prideful, but humble, They didn’t seek the wealth of the world. Yes they observed the teaching of Jonadab. But one mustn’t forget that we must obey the voice of The LORD GOD at all times. Obedience shows whom you truly are as a person. Blessings always come to those who live in obedience and truth.

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to hearken than the fat of rams.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭15:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  4. Verses 15-17 CEV “You refused to listen to my prophets, who kept telling you, “Stop doing evil and worshiping other gods! Start obeying the Lord, and he will let you live in this land he gave your ancestors.” The Rechabites have obeyed the command of their ancestor Jonadab, but you have not obeyed me, your God. I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I warned you about the terrible things that would happen to you if you did not listen to me. You have ignored me, so now disaster will strike you. I, the Lord, have spoken.” Same verses NIV “Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets to you. They said, “Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you have not paid attention or listened to me. The descendants of Jehonadab son of Rekab have carried out the command their forefather gave them, but these people have not obeyed me.’ “Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘Listen! I am going to bring on Judah and on everyone living in Jerusalem every disaster I pronounced against them. I spoke to them, but they did not listen; I called to them, but they did not answer.’” Same verses MSG “I sent prophet after prophet to you, all of them my servants, to tell you from early morning to late at night to change your life, make a clean break with your evil past and do what is right, to not take up with every Tom, Dick, and Harry of a god that comes down the pike, but settle down and be faithful in this country I gave your ancestors. “‘And what do I get from you? Deaf ears. The descendants of Jonadab son of Recab carried out to the letter what their ancestor commanded them, but this people ignores me.’ “So here’s what is going to happen. God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘I will bring calamity down on the heads of the people of Judah and Jerusalem—the very calamity I warned you was coming—because you turned a deaf ear when I spoke, turned your backs when I called.’” In the MSG version these verses are captioned “Why Won’t You Learn Your Lesson?” We have had a lot of preachers, evangelists, etc. that have come through lately; but, are we listening or ignoring Him, have we not paid attention, have we and are we continuing to turn a deaf ear to the spoken Word?

  5. 17. Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.

If we don’t hear and answer when God calls us, why should He answer when we call on Him?

    Lead me Lord
    I will follow
    Lead me Lord
    I will go

    You have called me
    I will answer
    Lead me Lord
    I will go

  6. 13 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord.
14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

It’s funny how this world can buy into so many lies without any evidence to support it but our Lord can send warning after warning and knowing will bat an eye. Everything that happens good and bad can teach us something from the Lord. We can learn about so much if we will just let God use our situations as a lesson. What we can take from this verse is that people quick to follow tradition and believe something that is passed down, and when people’s minds are made up it doesn’t matter what evidence there is to support it they are choosing not to listen because they choose their own pride, which is idolatry, over the voice of God

  7. 18 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

When we obey the father we will have a place to stand before God and not only us but our families. There is something about obeying and being under authority that God likes he honors.

  8. I love POfW LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS obedience is better than sacrifice!! Obey God and you will never loose.

  9. Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jehonadab son of Recab will always have descendants who serve me.’”
    Jeremiah 35:19 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/jer.35.19.NLT

Obeying the Lord is not for His benefit. It is for ours. It promises a full life and a heritage to pass down to our children.

  10. 16 because the sons of Jonadab
The son of Rechab have performed the commandment
Of their father which he commanded them
: but these people hath not hearkened unto me.

They stood in which they were raise to believe in…
And nothing or no one made them change their believe.
I believe this is what it needs to happen in this generation
Parents need ( 👉🏼 I need ) to stand on the word of God more than ever, because they are watching…
The truth I believed in 2008
Should be the same in what I believe now.

  11. 5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.

6 But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:

We just need to obey God and put our faith and trust in him and good things will come from him. Miracles, signs , and wonders is what my God can do.

  12. I set cups and jugs of wine before them and invited them to have a drink, but they refused. “No,” they said, “we don’t drink wine, because our ancestor Jehonadab son of Recab gave us this command: ‘You and your descendants must never drink wine. And do not build houses or plant crops or vineyards, but always live in tents. If you follow these commands, you will live long, good lives in the land.’ So we have obeyed him in all these things. We have never had a drink of wine to this day, nor have our wives, our sons, or our daughters. We haven’t built houses or owned vineyards or farms or planted crops. We have lived in tents and have fully obeyed all the commands of Jehonadab, our ancestor. But when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked this country, we were afraid of the Babylonian and Syrian armies. So we decided to move to Jerusalem. That is why we are here.””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35:5-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The point was not strictly the drinking or not drinking of wine; it was obedience to the teaching of their spiritual father Jonadab. Jeremiah didn’t use this to make a point about drinking wine, but about obedience. Nevertheless, God honored the Rechabites for their steadfast refusal to drink alcohol, and they were not mocked or criticized for this obedience. God is looking for our obedience.

  13. 17-19‬ ‭NLT “ Therefore, this is what the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you refuse to listen or answer when I call, I will send upon Judah and Jerusalem all the disasters I have threatened.’” Then Jeremiah turned to the Recabites and said, “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘You have obeyed your ancestor Jehonadab in every respect, following all his instructions.’ Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jehonadab son of Recab will always have descendants who serve me.’””

‭‭Proverbs 21:3 NLT “The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.”
    ‭‭
Obedience to the Lord will lead to righteous living which is pleasing to Him. However, when you repeatedly refuse to obey Him, there will be consequences to pay.

  14. Jeremiah Chapter 35

This is the first time that I have seen these verses. We have been taught that the law could not be obeyed. This family obeyed their dads instructions and never broke rank with him. What an example to see.

I can not ever say that about my self for I have sinned before God and man. I was rebellious against my own family. Except for Jesus and his his grace on the cross and the atonement I could not stand be fore him. Yet I will as all who are his redeemed children by the His blood, water, and the Spirit.

Verse 19 b Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever. What a gift to receive and what a gift we have received. For we have been cleansed. I start this day in praise to Jesus my Lord and savior.

  15. Oh senor genera en mi mas de tu Amor mas de tu sabiduria para poder asi Seguir obedeciendo y confiar plenamente en ti Y hacer tus mandatos!

  16. 18 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:

19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

    These scriptures made me think of the scripture that tje blessings of God is for 1000 generations. Deut 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Our obedience to his word blesses our children, grandchildren and beyond or until his return.

  17. 13 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord.
14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

Funny hoe Israel obeyed a man but not God. Sometimes I guess that easier but no right. We have to be right with God.

  18. 13 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord.

  19. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    MANS WORD ABOVE GODS WORD

The WORD of GOD is settled, powerful, truth and eternal. We witness here a common occurrence even in our day. People will value a family commitment or principal but not the WORD of GOD. This occurs most often in the doctrine of salvation.

Traditions are often esteemed over convictions. A family can have a set of values and traditions that they honor. But could miss The Kingdom of GOD because they fail to honor the WORD of GOD.

We must be willing to honor the WORD of GOD before the word of man. Prayerfully we have a Man of GOD that will teach and speak the WORD of GOD and there is no controversy in regard to choice of obedience, But, if I must choose, I choose the WORD of GOD.

Let us be prayerful in this Harvest season to honor the WORD of GOD.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork

  20. Jeremiah 35:13-14
    13) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
    14) The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

    “Obedience Vs. Disobedience”
The sons of Jonadab were Obedient to their “earthly father” and did what he commanded them to do, BUT Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem were Disobedient to their “heavenly father,” in that they did not listen or hearken unto His Words.

We would do well to be Obedient to the Words of our “Heavenly Father,” JESUS!

  21. Jeremiah 35:18,19 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Because ye have obeyed the commandments of Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me forever.

Always better to Obey His commandments

  22. Jeremiah was called on to test the obedience of a group of people who had been led by Jonadab. This test was performed in front of others so that they would see the level of committment this group of people had to their forefathers, who had instructed them in such manner. These principles of no wine, no houses, dwell in tents was passed from generation to generation, and collectively as a body that adhered to that teaching.

The contrast is found in verse 14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

They were instructed by man and followed it to the letter, yet Israel had given instructions by God to return to Him, stop doing evil, stop going astray and yet they would not listen.

The Rachabites were rewarded for their obedience by God in verse 19. 19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

The Rachabites obeyed Jonadab – a natural man, while Israel would not obey God, the father and creator of all.

The Rachabites received their command once, but God commanded the people over and over again to stop evil, and they would not listen.

The Rechabites obeyed regarding earthly things; the people of Judah disobeyed in regard to eternal things

The Rechabites obeyed their leader’s commands over about 300 years; the people of Judah continually disobeyed their God

The Rechabites would be rewarded; the people of Judah would be judged

I am amazed at times, at the level of commitment some families have to teaching their children the word, and to pray, and to live for God in their own ways, that don’t know truth, and we the people of the name, Holy Ghost filled, water baptized nonchalantly let our children flirt with the world, don’t teach them at home about living for the Lord, don’t teach them to pray, or spend time in prayer with them. It is so hard to fathom.

    • Today’s proverb says in verse 6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Parents – this truth is not just for us, but we must instill it in the hearts of our children, if we expect them to instill in it in the hearts of their children and for generations to come, if the Lord tarries. If not, each generation will lose a portion of it, and before long, there will be no trace of what truth is in our heritage.

  23. vs. 15 (AMP)
I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them repeatedly, saying, Let every one of you turn now from his evil way and alter your behavior, and do not follow other gods to worship and serve them; and then you will live in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers.
This verse has been preached repeatedly taught and by Pastor Watts . Turn from your evil ways. There are many people in the world (not in church) also in church that have evil ways about them it can come from there mind and also there behavior and actions. some people do not even realize there ways are evil.
    Worship other gods
There are many temptations in the world for people to get involved in. Any thing that keeps people from praying and studying going to church are missing church. It also can be TV there jobs money kids relationships money ECT!!!!! the list is long.
Thank you Jesus that we have a pastor that teaches and preaches GIVING MORE TIME TO OUR gods than we do to God and the kingdom.

  24. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2

    Wow!!!
God honors those who honor their father! These children honored and respected the commandment and were blessed. This scripture is the boomshakalaka scripture of honor, obedience, and favor from God.

  25. Jeremiah 35:15
Time after time I sent you prophets, who told you, “Turn from your wicked ways, and start doing things right. Stop worshiping other gods so that you might live in peace here in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you would not listen to me or obey me.

There is only one God. Do what is right and obey God.

  26. 13 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: Go and say to the people in Judah and Jerusalem, ‘Come and learn a lesson about how to obey me”

We never graduate the lesson of obedience. It’s the same as the education we already follow in our world already

We start at an elementary level, develop to an intermediate, and continue to stretch to an higher level.

We are constantly developing in our relationship with Christ, which would develop our obedience. Cause the same things He asked for at the beginning of our walk doesn’t hold the same sacrifice value as it does for the one who’s been growing in their walk for years!

We all need to live in the obedience school, to learn to appreciate the value of the act of simple obedience.

  27. Jeremiah 35
17 “So here’s what is going to happen. God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘I will bring calamity down on the heads of the people of Judah and Jerusalem—the very calamity I warned you was coming—because you turned a deaf ear when I spoke, turned your backs when I called.’”

18-19 Then, turning to the Recabite community, Jeremiah said, “And this is what God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel, says to you: ‘Because you have done what Jonadab your ancestor told you, obeyed his commands and followed through on his instructions, receive this Message from God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel: There will always be a descendant of Jonadab son of Recab at my service! Always!’”

    Destruction or Construction
Simply stated rebellion brings death and obedience life. If we truly live the Word of God and more so the Author of the Word ; why is it difficult to live no love doing God’s will? If the people would have just listened to what the prophet preached .
To be able to allow the blessings of God into our life we must be obedient to His word .

  28. 14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

In ancient times the people had prophets. Today we have preachers and the written word. As in olden times and today, the fallen nature of man leads mankind not to harken unto the word of the Lord.

  29. vss.12-13 Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words ?
    saith the LORD.

What a choice! Light or lies ? We can receive His word or lies As the creator of light, God is the ” Father of lights ”

..Jesus described the devil as the” father of lies”
God is light, and He has appeared to mankind in many ways throughout the ages.Yet in these last days, He has appeared through Jesus Christ, who is the brightness of God’s glory. Hebrews 1:1-3

  30. 19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

Reading this made me think of the sermon “The High Cost of a Bad Decision” one decision to disobey a command from God that was taught to us and passed from generation to generation could cost a future generation to miss out on the blessing of God. When making decisions we must think about how it will effect others’

  31. Then Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have obeyed the command of Jonadab your father and have kept all his commands and have done according to all that he commanded you, therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Jonadab the son of Rechab shall never fail to have a man (descendant) to stand before Me always.” ’ ”
    Jeremiah 35:18‭-‬19 AMP

We would be wise and know from this example and many others in the Bible, what great blessings being obedient will bring to your life.

  32. Jeremiah 35
The Rekabites held to the teachings of their forefathers, while the Israelites continually rebelled against the teaching of God. As in Jeremiah 35:18-19, Jehonadab will never fail to have a descendant to serve the Lord. This is what we all must do, serve our Lord Jesus Christ!
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  33. 15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

God has given us a promise, but so many have neglected the way of the Lord. We can only make it to heaven by following what the word of God says. There is no other way in. We must push past everything else that is not of God and do what God wants us to do.

  34. 2 Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

I now is the time for the harvest is ready, there are so many people and lives that haven’t been touched by Gods grace, now is the time to be reaching and winning souls.

  35. 18 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:

19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

Listening to those above you is always a wise thing to do, whether it’s your Pastor, Elders or even God Himself, they all mean you well, some things are not always easy to hear, but just trust.

  36. 15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

God sent prophets to warn his people time and time again to repent. This time if they don’t listen it will be too late. It’s easy to think we have time to get our act together because we’ve been hearing the same message for years. The truth is we don’t know how much time we have and we can’t take it for granted. We can’t get so wrapped up in what others say that we lose sight of what God is trying to tell us. The men of God were sent to try and pull souls from the destruction of sin and into his marvelous light.

  37. 15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

His word is and will always be faithful and true. We are the ones that turn on Him. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. We must never doubt Him, for He has all we will ever need! I pray tonight that we are putting all of our trust and hope in Him, and letting Him have His way in our lives!!!

  38. “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: Go and say to the people in Judah and Jerusalem, ‘Come and learn a lesson about how to obey me.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are many out in this world struggling with their faith, struggling to overcome any enemy trying to take them over. We need to start reaching out and helping them sharing Gods word to them, showing them God can help them overcome and help them rise up from their lowest. It’s time for us the children of the Lord to tell others that without God we will fail, and have so much trouble in life, but with him no enemy can overcome you and all your fear and anxiety can disappear. God blesses those who are faithful, so trust in him and obey and we will live an eternity with him

  39. “Time after time I sent you prophets, who told you, “Turn from your wicked ways, and start doing things right. Stop worshiping other gods so that you might live in peace here in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you would not listen to me or obey me.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How long will wrestle with the voice of God He is calling after us but will we listen to God and put Him first? To obey God is the best thing ever but we will be tried in faith and face great challenges but God is for us and is with His people. Sin leads to death and destruction nothing good comes out of sin but pain and death. Lets surrender to Jesus and give Him our all and He will lead us and protect us.

  40. 13 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord.

Here God wants us all to obey his word. To listen to his teaching and follow his commandments.

  41. “I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them repeatedly, saying, ‘Let every one of you turn now from his evil way and alter your behavior, and do not follow other gods to worship and serve them; and then you will live in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers. But you have not submitted or listened to Me.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35:15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

It is just better to be obedient when the first lesson is told. When we try and do things our own way instead of how god told us it never ends up the right way and we find ourselves back at the feet of him asking for help. Gods instructions rarely change from when he gives them so why not just be obedient the first time he gives them. Our test and trials will be much easier to handle if we are obedient the first time

  42. “Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jehonadab son of Recab will always have descendants who serve me.’””
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We aren’t faithful to God just for ourselves. When we are faithful in prayer, sacrificing, in giving, and in worship we are demonstrating to future generations that it is possible to live for God. We’re instilling in them qualities they need to thrive in Christ and qualities they can pass down to their children.

  43. And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:

19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

In the midst of distraction, chaos and anger it’s obedience that God takes notice of. We have to be obedient to what our parents and grandparents are trying to teach you because those traits could be the very thing that God takes notice of in the midst of wrath.

  44. The descendants of Jehonadab son of Recab have obeyed their ancestor completely, but you have refused to listen to me.’
    Jeremiah 35:16 NLT

Obey God before man. In all things, it’s wise to seek the Lord’s counsel and let Him lead you. If we allow Him, He will order every step we take.
