Lamentations 5

Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

19 Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

21 Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

  1. 21 Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

It is wise to pour out are suffering to the Lord, which can exercise our spirt to gain strength by knowing whom we rely upon. Our salvation comes because the Lord draws us and we trust solely upon the Lord for deliverance.

  2. Verses 16-17 CEV “Zion’s glory has disappeared! And we are doomed because of our sins. We feel sick all over and can’t even see straight;”. Same verses VOICE ” The wreath that crowned our head has slipped and fallen; now it’s crushed. O how we’ve sinned! Pity us for the punishment we brought on ourselves. We’re sick at heart about it all, blind with the sorrow and grief we caused.” This prayer for mercy is asking in verse 21 “Bring us back to you! Give us a fresh start.” Same verse VOICE “We are so sorry and have suffered for it. Eternal One, take us back again, That we may be restored to You and You to us, just as it used to be.” God can and will forgive us for the mess that we have made and restore us. 1 John 1:9 AMP tells us “If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].” Remember to focus on Jesus and nothing nor anyone can distract you from following the straight path towards your eternal reward!

  3. 11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

After every broken relationship there should be a time of grief. A time where you should reflect on that relationship and what took your u to its failure. In that way, hopefully you will not make the same mistakes in the future. Every relationship is like a seed, we must plant it, care for it, in hope that will grow fruits. Sin breaks our relationship with God, puts a huge separation between us. There is nothing more that God wants but to be close to our hearts everyday; but we insist in breaking His rules and breaking His heart. We act like rebellious adolescents and even stop prayer which is the best communication we could ever have with Jesus. Go back to minding God’s ways, repent and hold tight to His Hem, and above all read the Bible and pray everyday!!!! In Jesus. Name Amen

  4. 19. But You, Eternal One, despite all this, You will abide and rule forever, from generation to generation. Voice

But You, Eternal One, despite the pandemic, despite the political corruption, despite the supply chain interruptions, despite the blatant sinning…You abide and rule forever, from generation to generation!

  5. Lamentations 5
Woe! Woe! Would that we’d never sinned!
    Because of all this we’re heartsick;
we can’t see through the tears.

Terrible place to get yourself into .
Heartsick. Sadly God had been there all along and they would not return to their first love.
Now broken down completely, desolate and all because of their sinful ways.
We must blithe ourself with the armor of God. Walk closer than ever before. This world has nothing worth losing our soul over .

    Proverbs 4:23
Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.

  6. Lam. 5: 19 ( amp) But You, O Lord, remain and reign forever; Your throne endures from generation to ( all) generations.
    (21) Turn us to Yourself,O Lord, and we shall be turned and restore! And restored! Renew our days asof old!.
Sin will cause a lot of grief and sorrow against relationships.
Only God can restore and renew lifes.
It’s time right now to return, and get back to God .
Lord we need your help, Only you can draws them back!
    In Jesus name.

  7. 21 NLT “Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had!”
    ‭‭
Psalm‬ ‭51:11-12‬ ‭KJV “Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with thy free spirit.”
    ‭‭
Psalm‬ ‭80:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “Turn us again, O God, And cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.”

‭Sometime the grief people go through is to show them what it is like without Jesus. Then they will repent, turn away from sin and let God restore their lives.

  8. Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had!
    Lamentations 5:21 NLT

It is desparingly sad to think of everything that Israel has had to go through due to their pride and rejection of the word of God. Despite being given warning after warning and being held in captivity and removed from their land, they refuse to repent it refused to worship God. It took them to a place of complete desolation where they were isolated from anything God had originally intended for them to have. I pray that our nation God have mercy on it and that we not forget why God brought us up to begin with

  9. Lamentations 5:15,21
[15]Joy has left our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.
[21]Restore us, O  Lord, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had!

Remember when you are in a dark place pray through it. There will be break through. There is power in prayer, power in the name of Jesus, power in the Holy Ghost. The Lord wants to restore us. Thank you Jesus for healing things in my life that needed healing last night. You are worthy of praise. Thank you Jesus.

    Joel 2:25-26,32
[25]The lord says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts,
the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.
[26]Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the lord your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced.
[32]But everyone who calls on the name of the lord will be saved,
for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the lord has said.
These will be among the survivors
    whom the lord has called.

  10. The garlands have fallen from our heads. Weep for us because we have sinned.
    Lamentations 5:16 NLT

Yes, weep intercessors, weep! There is destruction in sin. There is no hope, no promise in sin. When we separate ourselves from God what hope is there? Weep for those bound in sin, destruction, and hopelessness.

  11. I love pofw LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS 2. God is so faithful and know our heart. He sees all . I’m so glad I have a father in heaven that is above all.

  12. 21 turn thou us unto thee O Lord
    And we shall be turned
Renew our days as of old.
    ——
    Hallelujah!!!
And that’s what God wants to hear and see from his children.
The Lord is merciful, he determined something and he did it.
Now his people loan to be in comunión with him again
Now they are seeking forgiveness and hi s face.

    Hallelujah 🙌
God is good. He is good.
    And his mercy endures forever.
Not feeling the presence of God
    Is a very horrible thing.
And sin being the reason is even worst.

    Thank you Lord for forgiveness
Thank you Lord for your presence
Thank you Lord for your Holy Spirit
Thank you Lord for your compassion
Thank you Lord for hearing our plead.
    In Jesus name .
    Hallelujah
That I may always have a song.

  13. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    TELL THAT FOX

18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

Even when it seems that everything is lost, gone, consumed, desolate or hopeless. TELL THAT FOX. Today, and Tomorrow we will cast out devil and work miracles and the third day we will be perfected. This are the words of JESUS and therefore are POWER to us that believe.

Luke 13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

We cannot spiritually afford to allow pesky foxes to occupy the mountains of our mind, tainting and taunting our hopes and dreams. TELL THAT FOX that even though it looks like I am desolate and hopeless. I will continue to believe and have faith to do works for the LORD.

Lets DO This! Revival and Harvest like we have never seen. Miracles, Signs and Wonders like we have never experienced. In JESUS Name.

  14. Lamentations 5:19 (NLT), “But LORD, You remain the same forever; Your throne continues from generation to generation.”

“But LORD, You remain the same forever;…”
Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

  15. 15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

Sin entices and draws people due to it being pleasurable, yet after it has a chance to work in your life, it leaves you empty and cast aside. Sin, when it has accomplished its goal, brings death and judgement -unless you can wake up and get your life back on track before its too late. God can and will restore, but sin leaves scars and bad memories. It’s better to dwell in the house of the Lord-he’s got the whole world in his hands and will supply our every need.

  16. The Living Bible
    VS. 16
The Lord himself has dealt with them he no longer helps them for they persecuted the priests and elders who stayed true to God

  17. iLove the Kingdom 👑 of Jesus2
Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. 22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

This is sad, everything Prophet Jeremiah had warned them about has come true. He had told them the will of God was for them to surrender to Babylon but they had rebelled against the Lord. Now they find themselves on the back side of faith and promise.

  18. “The garlands have fallen from our heads. Weep for us because we have sinned. Our hearts are sick and weary, and our eyes grow dim with tears. For Jerusalem is empty and desolate, a place haunted by jackals.”
    ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Their sin brought judgment and faintness of heart, which brought dimming eyes, which brought desolation to Mount Zion.

  19. 16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

We can choose to lay aside our crowns at the feet of Jesus, or after much refusal, be humbled by God Himself and have those crowns fallen off and stripped away. I would much rather find my way to the feet of Jesus and cry holy with the angels!!

  20. ‘But Lord , you remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation. Joy has left our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning. The garlands have fallen from our heads. Weep for us because we have sinned. Our hearts are sick and weary, and our eyes grow dim with tears.’

    Lamentations 5:15-17,19
    https://my.bible.com/bible/116/LAM.5.15-17,19

It doesn’t take a whole lot of time to realize what you don’t got until its gone. Sure at first its exactly what you wanted but, you’ll realized the true joy was the joy of the holy ghost. Someone shared a testimony with me the other day it was backslider that has returned home…They said you know as soon as i left everything started crumbling. I lost everything, its sad it took nearly 3 years for that child to come back but the good news is they came back and that person was accepted like they never left. Theres restoration that needs to take place and we need to be sensitive to these people that come back crying to God.

  21. No rest for the wicked

5 Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

Who has felt the pressure of deadlines, due dates, and time tables? These pressure’s in life are real and understanding how to deal with these can dictate our health – to an extent. What about Godly pressure. We know to do good but evil is always present or as it is written in verse 5 “have no rest”.

In Isaiah 57, it is written, “the wicked are like the tossing sea, which cannot rest, whose waves cast up mire and mud”. There is no peace for the wicked. The sea is dangerous, dark and restless. There are things no human has seen and we are still learning about the depths and life in the sea. Consider when Jesus calms the storm.

The disciples are first caught in a storm while Jesus is asleep below deck. When they have exhausted all they know to do, they wake Jesus up and accuse Him of not caring if they drown because of His ability to rest during such a horrific storm. Jesus goes on deck and tells the wind and the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Only then are the winds and waves completely calm.

Although we may have to endure what this world / sea throws at us, we know that there is safety and rest when we come to our relationship, trust and faith in Jesus. Why do we so easily forget this?

  22. AMP -7 Our fathers sinned, and are no more;
It is [a]we who have carried their sin.

The people were being judged for their sins. They were carried away to become slaves in Babylon. Not only the current generation who died off, but now their children are also captives, slaves to Babylon. They are also paying for the sins of their fathers/mothers.

What we say, do and allow in our homes today is setting a presedence for our children and children’s children. Don’t walk so close to the edge that the line is blurred and before you know, worldliness has come into your lives and the lives of your children. What is wrong for me as an adult, is wrong for my children. If we allow them to dabble in the world as children, when they are older and need to make Godly choices, worldliness will already have a hold on them.

It’s been said it took God one night to deliver the Israelites out of Babylon, but it took years for him to deliver Babylon out of them. Babylon is a type of the world. The more “world” we let into our lives, the harder it becomes to be like Jesus.

  23. 21 Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

It is sad when people lose their ability to repent. Jeremiah is asking God to turn the people back to him. It seems that God has utterly rejected them, but, God does turn back to them eventually.

  24. 9 Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.
Jesus is good all the time!
    Thank You Jesus!

  25. 19 Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

21 Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

  26. 19 Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

Others may fail, but God will always prevail. Because he is a God that remains forever, we will stand firmly on his word. Problems may come our way, but we shall remain vigilant and steadfast. There is none other that can save with a mighty outstretched arm.

  27. 20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

God has never forsake us, we are the ones that forget how great our God is. And then we cry about it. And God just waiting for us to come to remember how good we had it.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  28. Lamentation 5

16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us that we have sinned!

Do to their sins, Jesus has temporarily turned His head. Again I see this happening in our world this day. I hope it will not be too late for them to have time to repent and get salvation.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  29. Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; Thy throne from generation to generation. Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, And forsake us so long time? Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; Renew our days as of old. But thou hast utterly rejected us; Thou art very wroth against us.
    Lamentations 5:19‭-‬22 KJV

It may seem that the Lord has forgotten his people. That his punishment is continual, but he is teaching them a lesson. He will not forever abandon. He will not forget his love for his people. Yet they must learn who their God is. It is in patience that one is perfected.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
    James 1:4 KJV

  30. 7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

    Sin.
We are all born with sin. Since Adam and Eve did not go according to Gods instructions we are all born with sin. Sin is obviously not a good thing, but of coarse God can clear our sin. I pray tonight that you watch out and are always trying to avoid the sin in this word, or in your life!!!

  31. “The joy of our hearts has ended; Our dancing has been turned into mourning. Return us to You, O Lord, so that we may be restored; Renew our days as of old,”
    ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭5:15, 21‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Seeking his face daily is important. When you fall short of the glory of god repentance is key. Stopping and turning from your ways and resubmitting back to him. Thankful that he is a forgiving god and that through we may mess up he is always there to wrap us back in his arms.

  32. “But you, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures to all generations. Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of old—”
    ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭5:19, 21‬ ‭ESV

No matter how heavy you may feel in your distress, remind yourself who your GOD is!!!!

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭KJV

  33. 15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

We’ve all experienced losing our joy and dance at some point in our walk with God. We’ve all battled some type of Sina and many have experience the tragedyof allowing their Godly crown to fall.

This doesn’t give us the right to lose hope but it gives us the opportunity to learn from the mistakes dust off that crown and repent.

Girl, fix your crown and keep moving forward to finish the race.

  34. “Joy has left our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.”
    ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭5:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Turning away from God and not letting him into you life will absolutely be the worst decision you have every made. Without God your filled with all of the doubt, fear, anxiety, and insecurities that have grown in you. It’s the worst feeling when your living a life without God, no matter what you always feel alone. Now with God, when you place your life in his hands, no enemy will ever get to you, all those worries and fears and awful feelings go away, and the Lord will place you with so much peace, joy, and light. There is no greater feeling than what the Lord can fill you with, I pray tonight that we let the Lord work in our lives, that we trust and give him glory for all he does and continues to do.

  35. “But Lord, you remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation.”
    ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We serve a God who is never changing. No matter what we go through, we can stand on the promise that God will always have His hand in the mix. Yes, God’s people were still living in the wrath of God but they recognized that their position doesn’t depict His stature

  36. “But Lord, you remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation.”
    ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭NLT

Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever He is just, faithful, and loving. Jesus is my shepherd and He reigns forever victoriously. Trust in Lord with all your heart His ways lead you into the path of righteousness.
