Ezekiel 2

And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God.

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

10 And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

    BE NOT AFRAID

Fear can have a way of paralyzing the church if we are not careful. Fear will rob you of your faith in Jesus. Fear can silence your voice.
We must continue to pray and remember who JESUS is in us and whom we are in HIM.
In the midst of a falling nation which once feared and had a reverence for GOD, we must be armored to open our mouth and speak with boldness that come from the Spirit of GOD. … GREATER IS HE that is in you than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…Isaiah 54:17

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  2. 6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

We are called to reach for the lost and not be afraid. Fear can keep us from blessing and good things in life but being confident will lead us to good things. Being confident that God has our back so nothing to be afraid of.

  3. Ezekiel 2
6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

8 But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

As we are commanded of God to reach out to this world we cannot be afraid. We will face opportunities yet many will come with opposition. Yet if God before us who can be against us. Ezekiel was being called to go to a rebellious people. Yet God was equipping him to do what was being asked of him. If God has called you He will equip You. There is something about hearing the voice of God . When He speaks you will be able and You will know it is God and not self. Nothing else will matter . Self decreases as the voice of God leads your. You recognize without Him you will not be able to do what He has asked but with full confidence You Gear God say Be Not Afraid! We will tread right into the midst of the enemy’s territory yet God is being greater and greater as we walk. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in this world. As we Live Jesus We will Give Jesus !

  4. 5. And whether they listen or refuse to listen-for remember, they are rebels-at least they will know they have had a prophet among them.

    7. You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious! NLT

People can preach to us, teach us, tell us their own personal experiences, and show us in the Word that we can read ourselves, but it is still up to us to make the decision to act!

    James 1:22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. KJV

  5. Ezekiel 2: 6-7 ( amp) Are you ,son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words; though briers and thorns are all around you and you dwell and sit among scorpions,be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.
    7) And you shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear or refuse to hear; for they are most rebellious.
God expects us to go reach this world even if they don’t want hear.
Don’t Be afraid, God expects us to out to reach the lost even if they don’t want to hear it.
Hear the voice of the Lord and speak it.
What then shall we say to (all) this !
If God be for us,who can be against us?
    Thank you Jesus.

  6. “Stand up, son of man,” said the voice. “I want to speak with you.” The Spirit came into me as he spoke, and he set me on my feet. I listened carefully to his words.
    Ezekiel 2:1‭-‬2 NLT

What in order that must have been, during a time of judgment that God calls Ezekiel to stand before him and speaks to him, the Bible says that the Spirit came into him. The Old testament that was not very common because the Spirit led them by a cloud or a pillar of fire, but Ezekiel was given the honor of being filled with the spirit of God to speak to the people of Israel

  7. 5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

The call of the Lord has not changed. We see today we have the written word to let all of thoes in rebellion know the spoken word of the Lord.

  8. Ezekiel 2:3
“Son of man,” he said, “I am sending you to the nation of Israel, a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me. They and their ancestors have been rebelling against me to this very day.

Our world needs to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are vessels of the Lord.

    Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

    Acts of the Apostles 9:15
But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.

  9. I love pofw LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS 2. We are vessels for God. God says to go out to the highways and byways and spread his word. In today’s reading he says go to the most rebellious of people and spread the gospel and be not afraid. God will take care of Us!

  10. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
How many men of God have been pushed through fear looking at the faces of the congregation??? It seems to me as most preachers (including me) attempt to preach for response. It’s not intentional but it’s easier to preach to folks responding than folks mad dogging you. We need to preach what the Lord says and refuse to fear what the peoples faces look like

  11. 5-7 NLT “And whether they listen or refuse to listen—for remember, they are rebels—at least they will know they have had a prophet among them. ““Son of man, do not fear them or their words. Don’t be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls, even though they are rebels.”You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious!”
    ‭‭
Whether or not people want to hear the word of God, we as believers are instructed to tell them anyway. And to do it without fear. Then the choice is up to them… life or death.

  12. We all have a job to do in the kingdom so do not be afraid to do it; but , verse 8 MSG still has a warning “Only take care, son of man, that you don’t rebel like these rebels. Open your mouth and eat what I give you.” You cannot play around with sin and think it will not affect you. Romans 6:12-14 MSG “That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God.”.

  13. 6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

It won’t be easy to preach to rebellious people and they will come against the man of God just like they did to Jeremiah. Yet Ezekial is commissioned to speak the word he is given. We are also commissioned to reach for the lost whether they listen or not, it’s in God’s hands to water the seed that has been planted.

  14. 8 But thou son of men hear what I say unto thee
; be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house
Open Thy mouth and eat that I gave thee.

4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God.

Jesus is so merciful!! He still sends a Man Of God to go give them a message to turn back to God. God Is Good! All The Time!
    Hallelujah!
    Thank You Jesus!

  16. 1 And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
2 And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

The first step to letting God use you in any capacity is to be filled with His Spirit. Beyond that we must be willing to follow where He leads without fear. We have all been called and chosen by God filled with His Spirit, and sent on a mission to reach the lost. Daily allow God to lead you and stay prayed up, stay full of the Word and let God speak through you.

  17. AMP -8 “As for you, son of man, listen to what I say to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.”

Ezekiel was being commissioned by God to go to God’s people and prophecy to them. God warned him that they may or may not listen because they have hardened their heart towards God, but he was to go and speak anyway, and their response was not up to him, but their own responsibility. Then uniquely, God made this statement in verse 8. He was instructed Ezekiel that he was to go into their “world” but he we was not to allow their world and their ways to effect him, but he was there with a mission to carry out. God instructed Ezekiel to not eat of the ways of the rebellious world, but that God would feed him daily from the “God world” to sustain him.

Isn’t that just like God to feed us daily – He provides the food, all we have to do is open up the book and read for ourselves whatever it is we need to sustain us.

  18. 4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God.

5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

This is how I feel sometimes as I see our children rebel. So I guess that’s how God felt when I rebelled. We try talking to them about God and telling them about God’s truth, and praying with tears in our eyes and heart. Our stiff hearts full of pride forbids us from humbling and coming to repentance. We allow the cares of this world, the grief from losing loved ones, and the anger from seeing our loved ones suffer from devastating illnesses harden our hearts. How’s, why’s, if’s, go unanswered making room for resentments. Emotions are temporary and they can betray us. God made us human and we made ourselves sinner by disobedience in the garden. Oh if Eve would of known the can of worms she opened up as she took that bite!!!! God help us!!! Help us understand, soften up our heart of stone and replace it with flesh. Let us feel the burden of the lost, teach us to pray for their spirit to feel you calling them to you. Help us choose the right words YOUR WORDS so they will return to you. In Jesus Name Amen

  19. 6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
The return of a prodigal child won’t always look the same, won’t act the same in fact they’ll be barely held together. Ultimately it was pride that drove them out of their walk with God. But its their humility that brings them back. There will be new scars on top of old scars that were cut deeper be a representation of Jesus and welcome them with open arms and show them there are no longer funeral songs but songs of Joy that Jesus wants to give them

8 But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

MY MAIN ROLE AS A PREACHER is to PREACH the WORDS of JESUS. GOD does not call preachers to build great kingdoms, raise millions of dollars, become the most liked in town or be friends with every one.

GOD calls PREACHERS to PREACH the WORD of GOD. Not debate political stance, offer self help courses or tell people what they want to hear.

The instructions to Exekiel were very clear, “SPEAK MY WORDS”.

They may not listen, they may not obey, they may do the exact opposite and rebel. BUT. Dont act like them. PREACH THE GOSPEL. PREACH the WORD of GOD.

As a preacher of the WORD of GOD. I have no control over the response of the people, if they hear, if they obey or if they work against. I PREACH the WORD of GOD with my mouth, my actions and even my attitude.

  21. Ezekiel 2

8 As for you, son of man, listen to what I say to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.

God had Ezekiel commissioned to preach to the Israelites. To preach to those that may ignore him, those may reject him, but he knows this is from God and no matter Ezekiel was fed from God who in turn will feed others.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  22. Ezekiel 2:6-7
    6) And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions; be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
    7) And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

As a child of God, it is our duty and responsibility to Speak the Word of God to others. We are not to be afraid of others when we Speak His Word. They may say things to us; they may try to hurt us; they may look at us funny, SO WHAT DEVIL, just Keep Speaking His Word.
If they Hear It – Hallelujah and Thank You JESUS, but if they do not listen, just remember it’s not you they are rebelling against or rejecting, but it is God – JESUS.
St. Luke 10:16 (NLT) says, “Then he said to the disciples, Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who is rejecting me is rejecting God, who sent me.”

    Keep Speaking His Word!!

  23. The Living Bible
    VS-5
And whether they listen or not (for remember they are rebels) they will at least know they had a prophet among them.
It is easy to be discouraged when others do not respond to sharing of Gods Word. The Lord told Ezekiel not to measure the importance of our ministry by how others respond. Gods people are called to be a witness Gods word. Faithfulness is a must to be Gods servant.

  24. “He said, “Son of man, I am sending you to the people of Israel. That nation has refused to obey me. They have turned against me. They and their people before them have been against me to this very day. The people I am sending you to are very stubborn. Tell them, ‘Here is what the Lord and King says.’ “They might listen, or they might not. After all, they refuse to obey me. But whether they listen or not, they will know that a prophet was among them.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭2:3-5‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Prophets duty was to speak the Words of God. He wasn’t his responsibility if they listened or not. He just needed to sow the seed. We also have been commissioned to sow the seed of His Word.  But we can also pray for it to fall on good soil.

“”Listen! Here is the meaning of the story of the farmer. People hear the message about the kingdom but do not understand it. Then the evil one comes. He steals what was planted in their hearts. Those people are like the seed planted on a path. Others received the seed that fell on rocky places. They are those who hear the message and at once receive it with joy. But they have no roots. So they last only a short time. They quickly fall away from the faith when trouble or suffering comes because of the message. Others received the seed that fell among the thorns. They are those who hear the message. But then the worries of this life and the false promises of wealth crowd it out. They keep it from producing fruit. But still others received the seed that fell on good soil. They are those who hear the message and understand it. They produce a crop 100, 60 or 30 times more than the farmer planted.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:18-23‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

“So you must go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I am always with you, to the very end.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  25. And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

I find it very intriguing that even when souls are rebelling against God He still sends the man of God to speak to them. We know that unless the spirit draws man we all work be lost without Him. Yet God desires to partner with us to fulfill His will in the lives of others even when they are hard set on doing wrong.

When He uses us to draw others to Him he has His word and our testimony that is a power packed punch against the enemy.

  26. 2 And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

When we follow God’s instructions, we can excel. Many distractions will come our way, but God will lead us to victory. When he speaks, mountains can move and we can do great things.

  27. 6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me is a lie. Broken bones and flesh wounds heal. Words can lead to some of the most terminal spiritual conditions. The slashing of a tongue can cut deep like a sword. It’s all to easy to speak out of haste and wound someone. Friendly fire is more deadly than many realize. A church suffers when their words open fire on those they are supposed to be in unity with. For instance, if the hand cuts off the foot then the whole body suffers to walk. Separation makes for disunity and fear feeds on disunity. This is why one should watch their mouth because the tongue can be a treacherous thing.

Ezekiel was sent to speak to the Lords rebellious people and give them his message. It’s better to know when your messing up to correct your actions but fools hate correction. Their rebellion shackles them and inevitably they’ll repel Ezekiel for what he speaks. His words are intended to bring life to a dying situation. Those who latch on to the word of God will find life but those who reject it will perish. Woes and laminations are in their future if they do not repent. This is where we get the opportunity to ask God to search our hearts and heal our spiritual wounds or reveal the wounds we’ve inflicted to repent and become better reflections of Christ. After all being a Christian is to be Christ-like. Therefore, we have to evaluate our words and actions. Are they something Jesus would say or do? Do we accept correction when God calls us to repent? Will we be the Ezekiel or the rebellious house? So many choices but only two directions to go… life or death.

  28. 7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

    Speak His word.
This verse was absolutely stunning to me. In this verse it said “Speak my words unto them, weather they will hear, or wether they will forbear.” I think that it was trying to say to share the word. They will either expect or regret, and that is their decision. We have to keep pushing to get others into His kingdom, before that day comes. I pray tonight that you are sharing and witnessing His word to the ones in need!!!

  29. Ezekiel 2:6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, thou they be a rebellious house.

He was encouraged to fulfill God’s mission as we are by remembering “Be not afraid “

We serve the The King of Glory!
Psalm 24:8 who is the king of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

  30. Proverbs 24
28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

There are some things we can only leave in God’s hands.

  31. v8 But thou, son of man.hear what I say unto thee;Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that i give thee.

It is His will to give us our daily bread. We should pray like David, ” Teach me to do thy will: for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness ”
    Psalm 143:10

Paul exhorted the Ephesians to seek the will of God, ” Not with eye eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ , doing the will of God from the heart ”
    Ephesians 6:6

  32. “The Spirit came into me as he spoke, and he set me on my feet. I listened carefully to his words.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As the children of the Lord we need to always have our hearts and our minds open for the Lord no matter what we face. We go through many many trials in life but we need to realize that is where we need to focus even more on God, he wants you to see how strong you are and he wants you to believe in yourself as he does believe in you. God has a purpose for each of us, he wants to use each of us to help grow his kingdom. Let us obey the Lord no matter what even when your struggling, let him know you’ll do anything for him for he recognizes his faithful ones and blesses them.

  33.  And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

8 But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

Just tell them the truth. That is our whole job as Christians to tell people of the gospel of God. Not hiding, not sugar coating, just saying the truth in love.

  34. Ezekiel Chapter 2

Ezekiel standing before God because he was commanded to do so. God would then speak to him. In verse 2 the Spirit of God entered Ezekiel as God spoke. This is not the first time the Spirit of God entered a human.
See Exodus 31:1- 5 Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
Mica 3:8 But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, Mica was Spirit filled.
John the Baptist and his mother was spirit filled while he was in his mother. Luke 1:18 for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
Luke 1:41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
Luke 1:67 And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying,
Remember that the birth of the body of Christ happened in Acts 2:38-41 which included speaking in tongues.

Exo 31:3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship,

4 For they are impudent children and stiff hearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God.

Ezekiel standing before God because he was commanded to do so. God would then speak to him. In verse 2 the Spirit of God entered Ezekiel As God spoke.

  35. “You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious!”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You give them my messages – that’s all we need to do. Give what the Lord has said. We can’t save, we can’t deliver but we can be a willing vessel. I pray ee are willing vessels for the Lord
