Ezekiel Chapter 3 – Chronological

JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.

Eat This Book

Read Proverbs Chapter 25

Ezekiel 3

Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the Lordfrom his place.

13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.

14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

22 And the hand of the Lord was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the Lordstood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

25 But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

26 And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

  1. 20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

This is why obedience is a MUST!!! WOW!!! Saying we are kingdom minded and being disobedient….. we might be kingdom minded but the question is which kingdom are we obeying…..OUCH!!!

  2. I love POFW. LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS 2. From today’s reading…….Then the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me. ……… This is how I roll with the Lord, because I require a strong hand. Thank you Lord for saving me.

  3. 4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

    5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

Language barriers can be overcome, as many missionaries Tell. But the barrier of a rebellious heart cannot be overcome. You need to be fearless in speaking the truth in a dying world.

Our mission ( the church) while on earth is to ‘GO into all the ‘world’ and preach the gospel ( the good news) to every creature.’

Each and everyone of us has been filled with the Holy Ghost, let us be sensitive to His voice as he speaks through us to minister His word to someone that is lost and broken. Our salvation is not in vain. Continue to reach for S. O. U. L. S. / A L. M. A. S

  5. Then he added, “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself.
    Ezekiel 3:10 NLT
If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.
    Ezekiel 3:19 NLT

We are responsible for our obedience of the word and sharing the gospel. They’re not responsible or held accountable if people refuse to listen to hear the words that we lovingly share with them. God has never held us to a standard where we are accountable for what other people do of their own will. If we can focus on just being obedient and not allowing ourselves to be wrapped up if the results, then we can have much more success in reaching the Lost

  6. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

When the word of God is preached, we must hear it as if the Lord himself spoke it to us. We can’t ‘shoot’ the messenger when he says ‘thus sayeth the Lord’. Rather we must allow the word to change and shape us whether it is sent to correct, instruct or rebuke.

  7. 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

Those who will hear and obey the voice of The Lord will have life and those who choose to disobey can lead them to lose their life in the sin. Jesus has mercy on many souls that still have a chance to be saved don’t matter how deep they are in Jesus can pull anyone from darkness to Light.
    HALLELUJAH!
    Thank You Jesus!

  8. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Outreach and testifying about the Gospel through our actions is important. The Lord will hold us and pastors accountable for our witnessing because there is nothing more important in this life than the decisions we make for the after life.

  9. Verses 10-11 MSG “Then he said, “Son of man, get all these words that I’m giving you inside you. Listen to them obediently. Make them your own. And now go. Go to the exiles, your people, and speak. Tell them, ‘This is the Message of God, the Master.’ Speak your piece, whether they listen or not.” These verses reminded me of something I tell my Sunday School children when we do a coloring contest. They want to know what is going to help them win, what do they do and we will tell them “to make it their own”. In one of the commentaries it says that the prophets work began with 1) first receiving. He had to listen and receive everything God said. 2) then he had to get to it. 3) then actually speak to them God’s word and 4) then faithfully deliver the message.

Verses 14-16 MSG “The Spirit lifted me and took me away. I went bitterly and angrily. I didn’t want to go. But God had me in his grip. I arrived among the exiles who lived near the Kebar River at Tel Aviv. I came to where they were living and sat there for seven days, appalled. At the end of the seven days, I received this Message from God:”. Trust and wait upon the Lord as he will reveal the purpose to you; but, in His time and in His manner…….not yours!

Verse 27 MSG “But then when the time is ripe, I’ll free your tongue and you’ll say, ‘This is what God, the Master, says: . . .’ From then on it’s up to them. They can listen or not listen, whichever they like. They are a bunch of rebels!” So do not be afraid to do your part as Matthew 10:19 KJV says “But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.”

  10. 14 so the spirit lift e up and took me away and I went
In bitterness in the heat of my spirit
But the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.
——so he sat there for a week
    He watched
    He heard
    He had time to meditate
He saw what they did( throughout the day)
He got a glimpse and that was enough…..
Then he spoke to them( not his own words) which I believe that was super hard on him
Not speaking his mind, but what the Lord wanted him to say…).
    Anyways…
👉🏼 There is a time for everything under the sun.
    Be sensitive
    Be willing
    Be obedient
    Be strong
    Be patience
    Be cautious
    Discern the spirits
👉🏼 Be led by His Spirit at all times.
    🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
    God is good.

  11. 10Then he added, “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself.

It all starts with repentance, then baptism and then getting into the Word. Let the Word dwell in you, and the Spirit will guide you in life. Then share the Word with others. Others are willing to listen, be prepared to give a lesson when you least expect too.

  12. Ezekiel 3

1.He told me, “Son of man, eat what you see. Eat this book. Then go and speak to the family of Israel.”

2-3 As I opened my mouth, he gave me the scroll to eat, saying, “Son of man, eat this book that I am giving you. Make a full meal of it!”
So I ate it. It tasted so good—just like honey.

    The BIBLE

Maine may read just to mark off they have read their chapters for the day.
But Ezekiel was instructed to eat the Book.
When we eat we begin a process called digestion
First we taste what we have put to our lips . Taste snd see that the Lord is good. As we begin the digestive process the nutrients begin to be absorb into the body. To fully enjoy a meal one must take their time . Just as the word of God should be eaten . Taking time to truly digest what we are reading. As we do the pages take on a new meaning . It becomes sweeter and sweeter each day . Could we truly anticipate reading the word because of the sweetness we begin to experience from the Word ? I truly believe the answer is yes! Read it more and more digest the scriptures and the sweeter it becomes causing you to want more and more. It truly can become an addictive as sugar is to some people Allow it to be a part of your daily life filling you with the sweetness of each scripture
    Psalms 119:103
How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.

  13. Ezekiel 3: 18-19 ( amp) If I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and you do not give him warning or speck to warn the wicked way, to save his life, the same wicked way, to save his life, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; But his blood will I require at your hand.
( 19) Yet if you warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself.
Prov. 2:1-2 My son ,if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you.
(2 ) Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding applying all powers to quest for it.
Then you will understand the reverent and worship fear the Lord you will find knowledge and understanding.
Outreaching people , everywhere we go is so important.
    Be bless!
    Be Thankful!
    Be Greatful!
Thank you Jesus for saving me.

  14. Ezekiel 3:1-2,4
[1]The voice said to me, “Son of man, eat what I am giving you—eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel.”
[2]So I opened my mouth, and he fed me the scroll.
[4]Then he said, “Son of man, go to the people of Israel and give them my messages.

The word of God is our spiritual food that we need everyday and we need to share the Gospel with other people. God is so good all the time.

    Matthew 4:4
But Jesus told him, “No! The
Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’’
    Jeremiah 15:16
    Amplified Bible

Your words were found and I ate them,
    And Your words became a joy to me and the delight of my heart;
For I have been called by Your name,
    O Lord God of hosts.

    Thank you Jesus

  15. 3 “Fill your stomach with this,” he said. And when I ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

10 Then he added, “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself. (NLT)

Every word God speaks, we should hear. A Word may not seem pertinent in our current day, but that doesn’t mean a day will come that we won’t need it. Eat the Word and savor it, letting it take root deep into your heart – there is no greater wisdom than the Word of God!

  16. Ezekiel 3:8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

Be strong and go speak, we received the Word of God. Now GO and warn the wicked and righteous.

  17. Ezekiel Chapter 3

Ezekiel 3:18 If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.

This statement given to Ezekiel from God is a hard saying. The instructions given are righteous. The prophet was given this statement to prove his loyalty and love for God as well as love to a sinner or a righteous person that stepped into sin.

This statement is a test also of our loyalty to Jesus and our love for our neighbors in a dyeing world. Remember greater is He in you than that is in the world. Listen to the Holy Spirit and He will lead you to those that He has given you to minister to.

A word of caution go by twos. One to watch and pray and one to speak.

3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

The man of GOD was given 1 clear assignment. EAT THE BOOK.

Don’t just READ the BIBLE, Consume IT
Don’t just KNOW the BIBLE, Live IT
Don’t just EAT the BIBLE, Enjoy IT

Understand the purpose and importance to the WORD of GOD in the life of a Preacher.

4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

    Why is this so important?

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Today, I am Thankful for this site. I am Blessed to hear from each of you every day, as well I have opportunity to EAT THE BOOK every morning and begin my day with the sweetness of the Word of GOD. That I may be prepared to share IT or preach IT to others so they too can BELIEVE.

  19. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

How many times have we felt led to tell someone about Jesus, or share a word of encouragement prompted by the Lord, and we went on our merry way and did not do it? Whose blood will be required at our hands?

The best way to ensure that doesn’t happen, is it just do it. What they do with what we share is up to them and Jesus, but what we do about sharing is up to us and Jesus.

We must pursue a lifestyle of evangelism so that we deliver a word of hope to all near and far.

  20. The Living Bible
    vs-9
I have made your forehead as hard as a rock. So dont be afraid of them or fear their sullen angry looks even though they are such rebels.

The prophet was to be more stubborn in doing Gods will than the Jewish community was in resisting it. Ezekiels name means God is strong. If we draw strength from the Lord we will be able to keep on doing good whatever the difficulties.

  21. “”Or suppose a godly person turns away from his godliness and does what is evil. And suppose I put something in his way that will trip him up. Then he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The godly things he did will not be remembered. And I will hold you accountable for his death.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Lord, I pray that your Will be done through me. That your Light would shine to all of the people around me. That I would speak all of what you want me to say.

  22. Ezekiel 3:1 (NLT), “The voice said to me, Son of man, eat what I am giving you — eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel.

First, we must Eat The Word Of God for ourselves. We must Receive It, Believe It, and LIVE It. THEN, we can GO and GIVE It to the people of Fort Worth.
    LIVE – GIVE JESUS 2

  23. 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

It’s important to listen to the watchman of the house. The watchman will have the word from the Lord. When we follow God’s word, great things will happen. Don’t ignore what God is saying. Always take heed to his word, for by it we will be free.

  24. Ezekiel 3

20 Or suppose a godly person turns away from his godliness and does what is evil. And suppose I put something in his way that will trip him up. Then he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The godly things he did, will not be remembered. And I will hold you accountable for his death.

It is so sad that a godly person turns away from God. It is so important that this never happens to anyone at POFW. We need to support our fellow congregation and help those when we can. Sometimes the holidays are tough on some people.
Thank you Jesus for this wonderful Thanksgiving day.

  25. v4And he said unto me, Sonof man,go,get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

Jesus words are a surety for this present time and future crises. JESUS did not leave us unprepared to cope with life’s situations, but He has given us His Word.

  26. “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness (right standing with God) and sins, and I place an obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he will die in his sin, and the righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but you will be responsible for his blood.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As Christian’s we are our brother and sisters keeper. Whenever we see our brother or sister in Christ going down the wrong path and we fail to steer them in the wrong direction we are just as wrong. We can’t just allow our brother and sisters to fall short when we know that’s what’s happening.

  27. 7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

    Job 9:4
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

    Psalms 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

God let us not have a hardened heart in our lives, it will not get us anywhere in your kingdom. Let us give you Thanks in everything everyday, you said that we will be filled if we hunger and thirst after righteousness. Let me hunger after you more than anything everyday. Thank you for putting a man of God in my life to lead me where I need to go.

  28. At the end of the seven days, God tells Ezekiel that he’ll be held responsible if God tells him to warn the wicked about their sins and he (Ezekiel) doesn’t follow through. He’ll be held accountable for the blood of anyone who turns to sin and dies because Ezekiel failed to warn them.

  29. 14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

In our weakness He is made strong. Even when we are in bitter pain in our spirit… not bitterness but painful in spirits we have hope that the Holy Ghost will lift us up. The Holy Ghost will be strong in us and through us.

  30. 14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

He will always be strong, it doesn’t matter what state He will always be strong!!!

  31. 1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

Those that do minister in the word to others, the command and expectation is very clear: eat this word. You first have to feed yourself, consume and digest the word before you go out and talk to the people.

  32. ““Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately.”
    Ezekiel 3:17 NLT

Every message God gives you we are accountable of our action warning people of the sin that kills people and will be judge by Jesus accordingly to our obedience. Fear not and neither be dismayed for the Lord our God is with us and for us let your confidence be in Jesus who strength you. Let us live Jesus and give Jesus to the world, so all can be lead to Jesus and be delivered of sin.

  33. 23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the Lordstood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

There is something that changes within you once you receive the Holy Spirit. Nothing in this world can change a heart like He can. Some have tried, went far and wide, but nothing can do me like Jesus. He’s not only my friend, but my Saviour.

  34. “Then he added, “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We must begin to build our foundation in Him so we can go to others. We can’t lead someone where we haven’t been, so it’s best we stay in scripture to hide the Word in our hearts.

  35. “And I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be speechless and unable to rebuke them, for they are rebels. But when I give you a message, I will loosen your tongue and let you speak. Then you will say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Those who choose to listen will listen, but those who refuse will refuse, for they are rebels.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭3:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://bible.com/bible/116/ezk.3.26-27.NLT

Could you image not being able to speak unless God speaks through you. Literally times where God just wires these peoples mouths shut. It’s important we learn this ourselves though. Don’t speak unless it’s from the Lord. Prophetic utterances should be aligned with the word of God that’s the living breathing word of truth. There’s too many walking around saying thus saith the Lord but the Lord ain’t spoke to em. There’s a good lesson to be learned here

  36. 8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Jesus has given us a strength, and a mission, and a hope, that the world needs. If we find out strength in Him and not ourselves, we can overcome any obstacle that tries to hinder our mission of sharing our hope with this world. Our hope named, Jesus!

  37. 4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

A people who had the church walk, talk, and look down pack but decided to walk in rebellion instead of wisdom. Wisdom is the application of knowledge and Israel lacked wisdom in many seasons of their journey with God.

  38. The king of something I forgot the name took him to a idol the God of Israel The vision he saw on the plane He called him son of man.
