Ezekiel 35

Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.

I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.

Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.

And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.

I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the Lord was there:

11 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.

12 And thou shalt know that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.

13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

14 Thus saith the Lord God; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.

15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

  1. Ezekiel 35
ecause thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

    Message
14-15 “‘This is the verdict of God, the Master: With the whole earth applauding, I’ll demolish you. Since you danced in the streets, thinking it was so wonderful when Israel’s inheritance was demolished, I’ll give you the same treatment: demolition. Mount Seir demolished—yes, every square inch of Edom. Then they’ll realize that I am God!’”

Are we quick to judge someone.
Are we quick to say they had it coming ?
Yes there is consequences to sin yet even Jesus cried over the rebellion of Jerusalem. The cry of the Father is Cone while there is still time.
Sadly we too could be guilty of “well they had it coming “.
If we truly have compassion then we must show it .
Failure and wring choices . Sin and disobedience rages throughout this world. Oh that we would weep for the lost.

  2. 6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.

7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.

9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

God is in control and has the final say!
    Hallelujah!
    Thank You Jesus!

  3. 3 And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.

The Lord spoke againt Mount Seir as a representation of the Edomits. In Numbers 20:18 the people of Edom resisted Israel’s passage during the great exodus. Edom had remain an longstanding enemy of Isael. This prophecy demonstrates that the Lord protects His children. This prophecy has been proven true because even today that area is desolate.

  4. I love POFW LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS2 GREATER! We are taught all thru the word of God that you do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I was taught it’s the golden rule!

  5. 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:
6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.

Even though God has been dealing with Israel for their sin, he still protects them from any evil doing being done to them. We can take so much from this, that God will protect us through any trial and tribulation and whether or not where we are at with him he will still guard us from the enemy. This also shows us that God is in charge of judgment, not even his children, unless appointed specifically, are allowed to cast down judgment on someone else. Our job as children of God is to just be a conduit for him, not to be one who judges others based on their actions

  6. “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The whole world will rejoice when I make you desolate. You rejoiced at the desolation of Israel’s territory. Now I will rejoice at yours! You will be wiped out, you people of Mount Seir and all who live in Edom! Then you will know that I am the Lord.
    Ezekiel 35:14‭-‬15 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/ezk.35.14-15.NLT

No one can escape from the Judgement of God. We only have so long to reach and teach, praying people will turn and cry out to God.

  7. 5 because thou hast had a perpetual hatred and thou hast shed the Blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity in the time that their iniquity had an end.
    ——
For the lord looks at the heart.
Our God knows it’s motives, wether they are good or bad.
👉🏼 Lord, in Jesus name I ask; give us pure hearts
Cleanse us , let your word purify us and make us more like you everyday.
The Lord will do what’s right.
    🙏

  8. Ezekiel 35:5,11
[5]“Your eternal hatred for the people of Israel led you to butcher them when they were helpless, when I had already punished them for all their sins.
[11]Therefore, as surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I will pay back your angry deeds with my own. I will punish you for all your acts of anger, envy, and hatred. And I will make myself known to Israel by what I do to you.

We shouldn’t hate anyone. If you see someone helpless help them. If someone is living in sin talk to them about Jesus and he forgives our sins and invite people to church. Pray for the lost souls

  9. GREATER
BE CAREFUL LITTLE MOUTH WHAT YOU SAY

13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

Words seem to flow so freely these days. Fewer and fewer people think before they speak. Leaving trails of painful utterances and false predictions that cannot be considered prophesy.

The LORD considered words against HIS people to be words against HIM. This Old Testament illustration should be a confirmation of what JESUS said in the New Testament.

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

False prophesies, unpure intentions and selfish ambitions are all words spoken from a carnal heart. We will all give an account for them in the day of judgement. Dont be a gossip. Dont speak evil of others. Dont covet the fall of others. Dont speak against the ministry, the church or a brother and sister.

If you have spoken evil WORDS against anyone:

    JESUS HEARD THEM

Lets all take a moment and REPENT today and cover ourselves from these words of self imposed judgement.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray

  10. 12-13 NLT Then you will know that I, the Lord, have heard every contemptuous word you spoke against the mountains of Israel. For you said, ‘They are desolate; they have been given to us as food to eat!’ In saying that, you boasted proudly against me, and I have heard it all!”
    ‭‭
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬ ‭NKJV “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬ ‭MSG‬‬ “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.”

It doesn’t get much clearer that that. Be careful which words you choose to come out of your mouth. The Lord hears everything you say. Speak life.
    ‭‭

  11. Ezekiel 35: 14-15 ( amp) Thus says the Lord God;While the whole earth rejoices,I will make you a waste and desolations.
    (15) As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I deal with you; you shall be a waste and desolations,O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it, Then they shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord [ the Sovereign Ruler, calling fourth loyalty and obedient
    service].
Prov. 18: 21( amp) Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge it shall eat the fruit of it, [ for death or life].
We must be careful how we treat people or speak to people.
Because you will want to be treated the same.
God hears every word, and you will be held accountable .
Jesus loves them, pray for them, and Jesus will do the rest.
Hallelujah ,I will give God all the Glory and Honer.

  12. The Kingdom of God is GREATER

“Because you cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of their final punishment…”

God was the one who put Israel into judgement because of their idolatry and yet God is angry with Mount Seir because they stood by and just watched Israel go into captivity while not helping them. Esau, the brother of Jacob, settled in the hill country of Seir. When you see you brother about to enter into judgement, help him out instead of secretly enjoying it.

  13. “And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭35:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    ‘. I have heard them.’

It seems that we forget that no matter what is being said, all is heard. We cannot think that GOD isn’t listening, because HE DOES!

…’for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.’

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:7‬ ‭KJV

    Guard your heart.
    Keep your mouth shut!
    GOD is ON HIS THRONE

  14. “Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭35:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We serve a God that is all knowing, seeing and hearing. And we will be judged by our actions and words. We have all heard the Sunday school song..
O Be careful little tongue what you say,
O be careful little tongue what you say,
    For the Father up above
    Is looking down in love
So, be careful little tongue what you say

And it is so true. Guard your tongue.

“to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.”
    ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Talk no more so exceeding proudly; Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And by him actions are weighed.”
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  15. 7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.

9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the Lord was there:

The world wants blessings but they not want the Lord. Apart from the Lord Jesus we can not be blessed, and this holds true today. The world is doomed to eternal loneliness , with all trade cut off from the Lord Jesus Christ.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  16. You rejoiced at the desolation of Israel’s territory. Now I will rejoice at yours! You will be wiped out, you people of Mount Seir and all who live in Edom! Then you will know that I am the Lord.
    Ezekiel 35:15 NLT

The Lord does not take kindly to bullies. As the people of God who claim to have and share the love of Jesus, it needs to be evident to ALL souls we encounter, not just the ones we deem worthy or respectable enough. There is room in the house of God for everybody!! We must share the good news, rejoice and weep with those who rejoice and weep!

  17. 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

AMP 5 Because you [descendants of Esau] have had an everlasting hatred [for Jacob (Israel)] and you handed over the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their tragedy, at the time of their final punishment [the Babylonian conquest], 6 therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will hand you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you since you have not hated bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.

How many times have we taken on “hatred” of something because someone else hated it? How many times do we listen to the opinions of others and adopt those opinions ourselves before ever investigating the situation or the person for ourselves?

This nation was being destroyed because of hatred between two brothers years ago. It had festered and festered and now it would bring death to them because they couldn’t forgive and let it go.

We must learn to not take on things, feelings that don’t belong to us. Put this in the hands of the Lord and let Him take care of it. Otherwise, not only could it cost us our lives, (physically or spiritually) but it could also cost of the lives of our descendants. It is not worth it.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

  18. Ezekiel 35:1-6 & 12-13 (MSG)
    1) God’s Message came to me,
    2) Son of man, confront Mount Seir. Prophesy against it!
    3) Tell them, God, the Master says: I’m coming down hard on you, Mount Seir. I’m stepping in and turning you to a pile of rubble.
    4) I’ll reduce your towns to piles of rocks. There’ll be nothing left of you. Then you’ll realize that I am GOD.
    5) I’m doing this because you’ve kept this age-old grudge going against Israel. You viciously attacked them when they were already down, looking their final punishment in the face.
    6) Therefore, as sure as I Am The Living God,…

    12) You’ll realize then that I, God, have overheard all the vile abuse you’ve poured out against the mountains of Israel, saying, They’re roadkill and we’re going to eat them up.
    13) You’ve strutted around, talking so big, insolently pitting yourselves against Me. And I’ve heard it all.

We must be careful not to hold old-grudges against someone,
We must be careful how we treat people when they are already down,
We must be careful what we say,
Because GOD, The Living God, The Judge, is always watching and listening.

I read earlier this morning in Hebrews 10:31, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of The Living God.”

  19. vs-3-4
Because you hate my people Israel, I will demolish your cities and make you desolate, and then you shall know I am the Lord.
I am against you I will stretch out my hand against you
For the fourth time in three verses the word against is repeated. Like the solemn repetition of a drum beat , Edom heard the terrible news that Yahweh the covenant God of Israel was against them.

God promised to bring destruction and desolation to the cities of Edom. He would do it in way that revealed Himself to them(then you shall know that I am the Lord).

  20. 14“This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The whole world will rejoice when I make you desolate.

Many will regret not following God, for not committing themselves to serve God. But many will rejoice cause they served God faithfully. One day, all the righteous will rejoice when God comes.

  21. Ezekiel 35

13 You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it.

When I was young I used to hear words can’t hurt you. Words can hurt you! We must support our brothers and sisters of God. We shouldn’t gossip or talk negative about them. We should be kind to everyone. God is always watching and listening. Words can be hurtful. The wrath of God can come upon you due to your words. This is why we must be wise in all we say and do.
That you Jesus for this day.

  22. 13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

God heard it all. No matter what you may say behind others backs, God can still hear it. He can also hear our thoughts. This is why it’s important to remember to think and say positive things.

  23. And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.
    Ezekiel 35:12 KJV

Be careful little mouth what you speak. Who can hide from an all knowing, omnipresent and omnipotent God? None. So we must know that all our words are heard. And the truth is that the tongue is an unruly member. That is why is important to surrender it, and ourselves daily to the Lord and ask Him to fill you with his Spirit that you may speak what is on the mind of Christ.

  24. 4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

Man’s disobedience and iniquity puts him in opposition with God. It cause the judgment of God to be poured out upon man. Cities become wastelands in an effort to open mens eyes andas turn their hearts back towards God!

  25. I learned that We must be careful how we treat people or speak to people. Because you will want to be treated the same.God hears every word, and you will be held accountable Jesus loves them, pray for them, and Jesus will do the rest.

  26. v5 Because thou had a perpetual hated, and hast she’d the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

    Greater Love
“ If man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that love the not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this command have we from him, That he who love God love his brother also
    1 John 4:20-21
We cannot separate loving God from loving our brother in Christ.
Love is following the Lord without comparing with our brother Love is selfless. Since love is pure and never seeks its own
    1 Corinthians 13

  27. “In saying that, you boasted proudly against me, and I have heard it all!”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭35:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There is nothing that we can hide from the Lord, he sees and hears it all always. We need to be making sure that our decisions that we make, the way we are speaking is what the Lord expects from us, and make sure that he is approving of it. God brought us here to spread his word and his joy that he fills us with, we can’t go into this sad world and spread even more negativity. I pray that no matter what you face you trust in God, and that you continue to stay positive for he won’t fail us.

  28. 13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

Words matter. What you say matters.
We have all probably heard the phrase..”Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” This phrase is not at all true. Words do indeed hurt. I am more than positive that if someone said the right thing to trigger something, it would hurt you. Noticing this we must all make sure that we are being careful of what we say to God. The one unforgivable sin is blasphemy. Blasphemy has also to do with words. Seeing all of this being that I have said, words really do truly matter. I pray tonight that we are being careful and watching over what we say and do all of the time!!!

  29. Proverbs 27
Pro 27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

I know these late night proverbs aren’t much in the way of writing, but these midnight snacks are tasty… Wow!

  30. Verses 10-13 CEV “You thought the nations of Judah and Israel belonged to you, and that you could take over their territory. But I am their God, and as surely as I live, I will punish you for treating my people with anger and hatred. Then they will know that I, the Lord, am punishing you! And you will finally realize that I heard you laugh at their destruction and say their land was yours to take. You even insulted me, but I heard it all.”

James 4:1-3 MSG “Get Serious” – “Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don’t have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn’t yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it. You wouldn’t think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you’d be asking for what you have no right to. You’re spoiled children, each wanting your own way.”

  31. 10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the Lord was there:

The power of the spoken word.

13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

Again, the power of the spoken word. What will your words speak?? Evil or life?? Power and authority or death and destruction?? Your words have meaning and weight! Tread with purpose.

  32. “As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, since you show no distaste for blood, I will give you a bloodbath of your own. Your turn has come!”
    Ezekiel 35:6 NLT
I learned that everything you do will come back at you, either if it’s good or bad it will always come back that’s why everything you do you should do it by God,and pray that every day God would be with you in everything you do.

  33. “Therefore, as surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I will pay back your angry deeds with my own. I will punish you for all your acts of anger, envy, and hatred. And I will make myself known to Israel by what I do to you.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭35:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
God will destroy your enemy just so you can understand what power he has. When your down in faith and you think your enemy is great. Our God is Greater! He’ll show you!

  34. “As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, since you show no distaste for blood, I will give you a bloodbath of your own. Your turn has come!”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭35:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We shouldn’t root for the downfall of other people. Scripture says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. God has created all of us in His image and died for all of us to gain eternal life in Him. So, don’t hate the person but do hate the spirit behind them.

  35. “Therefore, as surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I will pay back your angry deeds with my own. I will punish you for all your acts of anger, envy, and hatred. And I will make myself known to Israel by what I do to you.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭35:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://bible.com/bible/116/ezk.35.11.NLT

I could see the Lord treating us the same we we treat him. When it comes to his judgement. But I’m the same breath he will stretch his arms across the cross and show us how much he loves us. In frustration we’re taught to humble ourselves and die to our flesh.

  36. “Then you will know that I, the Lord, have heard every contemptuous word you spoke against the mountains of Israel. For you said, ‘They are desolate; they have been given to us as food to eat!’”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭35:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There isn’t a thought, word, or action that the Lord hasn’t seen or heard.

He already knows the good and the bad. He knows the very intent of our heart. It is a good reminder to know He is all and knows all!
