70 So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

  1. 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

The Lord keeps meticulous records of those that have been delivered from bondage. When we have been freed from the bondage of sin and death, we should show our gratitude by serving the house of the Lord.

  2. 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

70 So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

    Hallelujah!!
    Thank You JESUS!

  3. THEY ARE COMING HOME!

    Revival!

“So a total of 42,360 people returned to Judah,”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:64‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I speak it now. Those that are afar off. And lost and in the world. Are coming home in Jesus name!

2 of the 42.000+ are my sisters. They will come home to Judah!

  4. 69. and each leader gave as much as he could.
The total of their gifts came to 61,000 gold coins, 6,250 pounds of silver, and 100 robes for the priests. NLT

    69. They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments. KJV

Someone giving all they can is a GREATER event than someone who has more, but only giving what they want to.

    Mark 12:
    42. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

    43. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

    44. For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

  5. Ezra 2: 68-69 (amp) Some of the heads of families when they came to the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, made freewill offerings for the house of God to rebuild it on its site.
    (69) They gave as able to the treasury of the work 61,000 darics of gold, 5,000 minas of silver, and 100 priests garments.
Sometimes it not just money we give!
It our Time, Tablet, and Treasure that we give.
To give freewill, and build the House of the Lord together.
I love to serve the Lord.

  6. “So a total of 42,360 people returned to Judah, in addition to 7,337 servants and 200 singers, both men and women. When they arrived at the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the family leaders made voluntary offerings toward the rebuilding of God’s Temple on its original site, and each leader gave as much as he could. The total of their gifts came to 61,000 gold coins, 6,250 pounds of silver, and 100 robes for the priests. So the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, the Temple servants, and some of the common people settled in villages near Jerusalem. The rest of the people returned to their own towns throughout Israel.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:64-65, 68-70‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The value and importance of accountability is no question in this chapter. Everyone was accounted for, every tool was accounted for, all the finances were accounted for. Jesus sees this and expects this from us. If we can’t answer where something’s at then we should re evaluate ourselves because chances are we don’t even know where we’re at. Accountability with other things makes you accountable for yourself and your walk.

  7. “and each leader gave as much as he could. The total of their gifts came to 61,000 gold coins, 6,250 pounds of silver, and 100 robes for the priests.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:69‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s something about coming back home. The Israelites came home and gave. They gave voluntary offerings. As we see revival continue at POFW it’s important when people come home we encourage them to get back in the swing of things. Get them back serving, giving, praying, and worshipping. Thank You Jesus for Your grace and mercy!

  8. “Here is the list of the Jewish exiles of the provinces who returned from their captivity. King Nebuchadnezzar had deported them to Babylon, but now they returned to Jerusalem and the other towns in Judah where they originally lived.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Through the prophets, God had ordained that His chosen people would return to their land after a seventy-year exile. Ezra’s account proclaims that God kept His word, and it shows that when God’s people remained faithful to Him, He would continue to bless them. GREATER

  9. They searched for their names in the genealogical records, but they were not found, so they were disqualified from serving as priests. The governor told them not to eat the priests’ share of food from the sacrifices until a priest could consult the Lord about the matter by using the Urim and Thummim—the sacred lots.
    Ezra 2:62‭-‬63 NLT

I’ve never noticed this before whenever I read the book of Ezra in the past. I really love how they created a process for these men who were supposed priests but because they could not find their genealogy they had them hold off until the priest could consult the Lord. They didn’t take chances and let them serve as priest, they wanted to be sure that the duties of the priest were kept sacred and sought the Lord for guidance.

  10. So the priests the Levites some of the people
The singers, the gatekeepers and the temple servants
Settle in their own cities, and all Israel settled Grady in their own cities.
    —-
A decree was made, the people was gathered, and it preceded and it all came to pass…
    👉🏼Everything is a process.
The thing is are we going to endure to the end.
    Hallelujah 🙌
When the son of men comes, shall he find faith?
    🙏

  11. The Kingdom of God is GREATER
They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah.

I know that MOST folk eyes glaze over when they read genealogy accounts in the Word, but they are there for a reason. As I was reading, some names jumped off the page. Zerubbabel, Joshua, Nehemiah, and Mordecai. These names connect the other books of the Bible together. Mordecai is from the book of Esther, Zerubbabel and Joshua are from the book of Ezra, and of course we have Nehemiah. What we have here is the pages of the Word coming alive in continuity. BOOM! God is simply GREATER than the fiction of this world.

  12. Just as God promised, Hemade a way for the Jews to be brought out of captivity. It took years. 70 years to be exact. But isn’t that the case with us? To go through a trials struggles that God has a promise end. But all things happen in God’s timing and not our own. Lord, I am grateful for Your timing!

  13. 68-69 NLT “When they arrived at the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the family leaders made voluntary offerings toward the rebuilding of God’s Temple on its original site, and each leader gave as much as he could. The total of their gifts came to 61,000 gold coins, 6,250 pounds of silver, and 100 robes for the priests.”
    ‭‭
You will never go wrong by freely giving to the house of the Lord. Especially when you give out of your need not your excess.

  14. GREATER
    ATTENDANCE MATTERS

62 These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

People often don’t understand the process and importance of FAITHFULNESS. Does it matter if I miss a service?

    Its only Wednesday Night.
    Its only Prayer Meeting.
    Its only Sunday Night.
    Its only Youth Service.
    Its only Revival Service.
    Its only Outreach.
    Its only Bible Study.
    Its only Leadership.

This is just a simple list of opportunities at The POFW that occur weekly or monthly. We all have the opportunity to be involved in to GROW our knowledge of and relationship with JESUS.

BUT their names were not found on the roll. The attendance roll, was missing their name and therefore they were disqualified.

They were not disqualified by the church, the preacher or the leaders. They were disqualified because they were not present, their name was not found on the roll.

This principal applies to the roll of those that are in Christ JESUS, who have been baptized in JESUS Name and the roll of faithfulness that the LORD knows those that are HIS. FAITHFULNESS to the House of GOD keeps my name on the attendance roll of HIS Church and keeps me engaged in the building of HIS church. Next time you are tempted to miss because something “more important” comes up (that sounds silly; what’s more important) remember ATTENDANCE MATTERS.

We must make sure that our name shows up on HIS register.

  15. Ezra 2:2,7,22,29,68
[2]Their leaders were Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah. This is the number of the men of Israel who returned from exile:
    [7]The family of Elam 1,254
    [22]The people of Netophah 56
    [29]The citizens of Nebo 52
[68]When they arrived at the Temple of the lord in Jerusalem, some of the family leaders made voluntary offerings toward the rebuilding of God’s Temple on its original site

Families are coming home in Jesus name

  16. 68 And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lordwhich is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:
69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.
70 So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

Offered freely for the house of God: Because of prominence of those who made this offering (the heads of the fathers’ houses) and the priority in this record, we see how important it was for the leaders and the people to sacrificially give to the work of rebuilding the temple.
According to their ability: These people gave generously, as generously as they could according to their ability. This showed how highly valued the house of God was in their eyes.
    Greater Vision and greater worship.

  17. 36These are the priests who returned from exile:

Exile-Being forced from your location or country. In a sense our nation is being forced to forget God, and erase everything about God. But we have to return back to our roots of God. Return to God, return to what we know works. Once we return to God, blessings, healings and comfort will come.

  18. 68 And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lordwhich is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

They came out of captivity with nothing, back to their land, which had been destroyed. They had to establish houses, land territories, and the such. We find that they sought out to come to the house of the Lord. Obviously, after all they had went through as captives, they had a change of heart and desired to seek after God. Each gave of their ability to the house of the Lord to ensure that it was ready and prepared for them as a people.

If all God’s people would give of their ability tithing and offerings, the house of the Lord would never have a need that could not be met. The struggle is when people only giving tithing, or don’t give anything at all. They come to be fed spiritually, but don’t partake giving anything back to the Kingdom of God to ensure that it operates and functions as it should.

  19. 1 Now these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;

God takes note and knows each one who he stirred up to labor and rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. He knows each of us today who he has called and chosen to be saved and to labor in his kingdom today as well. These men and women went ahead to prepare the temple for worship for those who followed and likewise we today are preparing for the harvest which is coming in these last days!

  20. 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

When everyone gives of their own ability – great or small – it’s always a blessing to the kingdom. Giving all together in unity as a form of worship will always be more than enough. When everyone is in tune with the Spirit of God, obedient to His voice, and giving sacrificially the blessings will overflow!

  21. 68 “And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lord…”

It’s not “if” the come home – It’s “WHEN” they come home.

WE are seeing GREATER in 2022, and with such we will see family members, friends, and loved ones coming home!

  22. Ezra-2
The exiles returned to Judah with Zerubbabel. a total of 42,360 people returned. The heads of the families gave offerings for the temple.

I could imagine the people were pleased to be back in their home towns and vs-68 . When they arrived at the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of GOD on its site.

  23. “And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place: they gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:68-69‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Hallelujah!!!

Having a willing heart to give into the Kingdom of is a blessing coming your way. Anyone Can give, but what matters here is in how you give, again… it’s a issue of thine heart.

“Now [remember] this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to others] will also reap generously [and be blessed]. Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift]. And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:6-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  24. Throughout this whole chapter I see the Children. The children are so important, it is so important that fathers and mothers raise their babies up to know the Lord. Generations of believers came from those that taught and lived for God. I see in this chapter how from generation to generation came great leaders that learned as a child from their parents to overcome and have great victory. Though my children are grown, I think I can still have an influence on them. I can see my failures and my successes in my children and grandchildren in how they are living today. They each have to make their own choice. I am so thankful for our bus ministry that go out and pick up those children that have parents that won’t or can’t take their little ones to church. Praise God for the Children’s ministry and may God bless each and every one of these children that have a desire to attend and for those that want to but can’t for whatever reason. We need a Greater Revival in Fort Worth and the sorrowing cities. We must have a burden for the future generations.

  25. Ezra 2:36 & 40-43 (NLT)
    36) These are the priests who returned from exile:…
    40) These are the Levites who returned from exile:…
    41) The singers…
    42) The gatekeepers…
    43) The descendants of the following Temple servants returned from exile:…

What caught my attention was the list of the people (the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, the Temple servants) who returned and served in their position in the Temple, the church.
What we need today is everyone who once served in the church to Return and Serve in their position to make the Kingdom of God GREATER together!

  26. Many things to glean from this chapter, starting with returning from your captivity. The last couple of years feels just like that, where we have been exiled from our place where we should be. We each have a place, a duty to accomplish and are a part of God’s church. Those who held onto their faith through their exile are now being allowed to come home. Many unfortunately are still in captivity today and have pretty much given up on returning out of it.

Later in the chapter, there are those who cannot come back because they cannot prove where they came from. Do you know who your Father is or know who you belong to? Many have allowed things and people to make them unclean. They seem lost as to where exactly they belong. We have to know Him (have a relationship with Jesus) and separate ourselves from becoming unclean. We have to let go of things that can and will eventually contaminate our roots, our lives and our relationship with the King of Kings.

The end of the chapter talks about giving. I believe we are all able to give something, whether it is monetary, time, attention or care for His kingdom. We have to remember that it is not about what we want; but, what He is calling us to do. We each have a place in God’s kingdom. There is Room in the House of God for Everybody to return and be GREATER.

  27. Ezra 2

When the people came together to work in the church, it was a great blessing. When our congregation gives to the church, either physically or financially, we become GREATER for God. We must give happily and pray for the lost and backsliders to come home. Our church will be GREATER this year! We must see the vision in order to fulfill it.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  28. 68 And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lordwhich is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:
69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

The value is not always found in the amount given but the heart of how it was given. I want to live life in a way that I give what I can and sacrifice often but when it’s not in my means allow others to shine!

    New Living Translation
    69. and each leader gave as much as he could. The total of their gifts came to 61,000 gold coins, 6,250 pounds of silver, and 100 robes for the priests.

Great leaders learn to give as much as they can and allow others to give so that in a joint effort the Kingdom can be expanded.

  29. 1 Now these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;

It’s amazing how the Jews kept track of all the people who returned to Jerusalem and Judah. It reminds me of how God keeps track of all saints that are his. He knows us and our name is in the Book.

  30. 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

  31. Ezra 2:62,63 msg.
They had thoroughly searched for their family records but couldn’t find them. And so they were barred from Priestly work as ritually unclean. The governor ruled that they could not eat from the the holy food until a priest could determine their status with Urim and Thummim.

Be faithful and accountable in God’s house.Don’t be lost in the house.

  32. 66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five

This message is amazing I don’t what to do or say but wow

  33. these sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.
    Ezra 2:62 KJV

The greatest list to be found in is to be written in the Lambs book lof life.

  34. 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

It takes the whole congregation to build the house of the Lord.

    Luke‬ ‭6:38‬
“give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Amen!

  35. Greater
    Joyful Willingly Giving
    v68

With the Lord, no gift is too great or too small, and He judges each gift according to the ability of the giver, not according to the amount of the gift.

  36. 68 And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lordwhich is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

The people were willing to give. As the children of God we also must be willing to give. Blessings come not because we are forced to give, but because we are willing to give. God blesses those who give willing and according to his word.

  37. 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

Nothing will ever compare to what God had to offer. Many things of this world may seem good at the money, but what He has to offer is much greater than any Earthly good. I pray tonight that we are all realizing the things that He has to offer, and expecting His gifts as blessings which they are.

  38. 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

No riches will amount to the riches we’ll have in heaven.

  39. “When they arrived at the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God on its site.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:68‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we come into the Lord house we should have an offering ready to give to the Lord.

  40. “They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:69‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The things in this world that you think you want can never and will never compare to what the Lord has given us and what he has in store for us! I pray tonight that you come to an understanding that the enemy will do anything to take you away from God and your path with him, he will try to guide you to make you think there is greater in this world.. but I will continue to pray that no matter what you continue to believe in God, that you trust in him, because the life God has in store for you is a life full of blessings and outstanding.

  41. 68 And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lordwhich is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:
69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

What have you given recently back to the kingdom of God and His purpose? These fathers offered up their spaces, they offered their abilities and themselves. It should be a action that we don’t think k about, but rather give freely without thinking. We should always be giving of our time, talents, and treasures back into the Kingdom of God. Without Him we would not have any of the things mentioned. Without giving of ourselves how can we expect to grow into GREATER things without GREATER sacrifice??

  42. “When they arrived at the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the family leaders made voluntary offerings toward the rebuilding of God’s Temple on its original site,”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:68‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s not all about how much you give it’s about the heart and sacrifice. God honors us when we give from the heart. God honors the heart. Whether our giving is in our offering, our ministry or outreach. In all that we do into giving back to the kingdom of god we should make sure that it’s coming from the heart because god honors that way more.

  43. Sometimes it may feel like you’ve been pulled apart from everything you know and you may feel like you’ll never be taken back but that’s not the case. Stand strong and know you’ll always be taken back to a place that is positively and motivationally familiar to you. It may not look the same as when you left but there’s always room for improvement!

  44. “When they arrived at the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the family leaders made voluntary offerings toward the rebuilding of God’s Temple on its original site,”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:68‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Offer to the Lord with joy. Sacrifice for Jesus and his body. Give a worship and sacrifice to the Lord.

  45. ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:62‬ ‭NLT
“They searched for their names in the genealogical records, but they were not found, so they were disqualified from serving as priests.”‬‬

We can serve until we are blue in the face but if our name is not found in the book. We will not enter into his kingdom and be disqualified to serve Him.

  46. “and each leader gave as much as he could. The total of their gifts came to 61,000 gold coins, 6,250 pounds of silver, and 100 robes for the priests.”
    Ezra 2:69 NLT

It’s better to give than to receive. God knows what our needs are and He will supply our needs. He won’t let us fail. He wants the best for His people. We must be willing to give God everything because it all belongs to the Lord. When we give God all in prayer, praise, and sacrifice. God will honor His people and bless them greater. Trust in the Lord He is in control!

  47. “All of the people arrived at the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem. Then some of the leaders of the families brought offerings they chose to give. They would be used for rebuilding the house of God. It would stand in the same place it had been before. The people gave money for the work. It was based on how much they had. They gave 1,100 pounds of gold. They also gave three tons of silver. And they gave 100 sets of clothes for the priests. All of that was added to the temple treasure.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭2:68-69‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Thankful for faithful and giving people. They gave for a Greater temple. I feel like we are doing the same today. The temple or church before covid or even the South campus is gone. And we now get to work with Jesus and rebuild the house of God. We can count on it being different, going through change and experiencing growth. We will have a growing pains but in the end it will be GREATER!
