Read Proverbs Chapter 23

John 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

  1. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

In the beginning!!! It didn’t matter if it was the end, it was ALWAYS GOD!!! HE IS THE FIRST, THE LAST , EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE!!! THERE IS NO THING WITHOUT HIM!!!

  2. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

    The light makes darkness flee!!!

    GREATER IS HERE!!!
I SEE IT!!! I FEEL IT!!! BUT I ALSO I LIVE IT!!!
GOD HAS MADE US A GREATER POFW FOR THE WORLD TO SEE!!!
    Matthew 5:14-16
    New International Version
14 “You are the light of the world.(A) A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.(B) 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others,(C) that they may see your good deeds(D) and glorify(E) your Father in heaven.

  3. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John writes this inspired gospel to teach us to have faith in Jesus. Jesus is God robed in flesh to give credence to the written Word, and redeem mankind from the curse of sin.

  4. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Here is shown the plan of salvation, or at least a forward glimpse of it.

Could you imagine the rejection Jesus felt, since being born, because He is God, and knew all from birth, but his creation denied him…

  5. Verses 12-13 AMP “But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—who were born, not of blood [natural conception], nor of the will of the flesh [physical impulse], nor of the will of man [that of a natural father], but of God [that is, a divine and supernatural birth—they are born of God—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].” I encourage you to read our Proverb for today and be a GREATER child of God.

  6. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:1, 3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It was and always will be god. He is the creator of all things. Without him we would not be where we thought we should be. This is why in all things we must give thanks and honor that is due unto him. He is the king of kings and lord of lords. We honor and worship you oh god. Thank you for who you are! Thank you for all that you have done.

  7. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
    John 1:5 NLT
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

It is n the darkness that we are able to shine the brightest and the world. When things are bright and shiny, people don’t pay attention as much to the things that matter, not generally anyways. It is when things are going hectic in their lives that they are looking for hope and assurance, and it is then that those that are reflecting the light of Christ can truly shine the brightest to others. When hard times come down on us, it is also an opportunity to reveal our faith in Christ to allow others to see the hope that is in US.

  8. 1. In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

    4. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

    5. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. NLT

When the beginning came, the Word was already there. After the ending has come, the Word will still be there, and the darkness can’t do anything about it!

  9. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

We are called to be different from the world and since we are that difference we might be looked at differently for how we do thing the way we talk the way we dress, and how we worship. The world does not comprehend why are the way we are,

  10. 9 that was the true light, which lighteth every man
    That cometh into the world.
    —-
    Every man it says…
    He will not say no!
Come, let us invite that light
He did not pick and choose, it was men who did….
The light IS here, with us.
    Hallelujah
He will not leave me, nor forsake me.
    Good is good.

  11. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Love this scripture. He is the light and life

  12. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

    Hallelujah!!
You are the beginning and the end… You are the same yesterday, today, and forever more..
The world may pass but Your Word doesn’t.
    Thank You Jesus!

  13. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John makes it clear that the Word is not just the beginning, but it is the beginning of the beginning.

  14. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The light cannot lose against the darkness, the darkness will never overcome it.

“The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:2-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When darkness was upon the face of the earth, God spoke and the light overcame it.

In the same sense it is when the Word of God is spoken that spiritual darkness is overcome!

  15. 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Glory to God in the Highest! Praise be to him, honor be to him and an everlasting love! Attach yourself to this Glorious Saviour and never let go!!
I love him with everything in me!!

  16. John 1: 1 ( amp) In the beginning ( before all time) was the Word [ Christ] ,and the Word was God, and the Word was with God,and the Word was God ( Himself).
God is a Creator of All Things,He is the Beginning and The End.
And name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, The Every lasting Father of Eternity), Prince of Peace of Peace.
I love him and I give him all the Praise and Glory and Honer.
    Greater God and Greater Things.

  17. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Before time as humans know it, there was GOD.
All things were created through Him.
JESUS is life and light to all who receive HIM.
    Where light exists, darkness flees.

John‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭NKJV “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.””

  18. John 1:5,9
[5]The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
[9]The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

Jesus is the light of the world in him there is no darkness. Jesus is our light and salvation. Thank you Jesus

How to Be the Light of the World

    1. Share Your Faith in Christ
God takes an ordinary person and uses them to share His message to people who needed Him. When we share our faith, we spread His light. You were saved to shine! Don’t hide your testimony or be ashamed to take your Bible to work. Don’t be afraid to pray over your lunch at school. Let others know that you love the Lord Jesus.

    2. Take Light Where It’s Dark
Jesus describes what we are in this passage – the light of the world, not the light of the church. That means we have to get beyond the church walls and take the light out to where it is dark.

    3. Shine Together as the Church
Jesus also talked of the strength of collective light. Each house in a city with its lights on cast a glow across the sky. As Christians come together, there is a glow for the Lord that we cannot create individually. We shine brightest when we shine together.

    4. Live Surrendered to the Lord
How can we shine for God? Jesus says that we are to let our lights shine before men in such a way that they will see our good works and glorify God (Matthew 5:16). That’s how we do it. We live for God. We have to surrender our lives to Him completely. Christ says we are to “let” our lights shine. In other words, when you get right with God and are filled with the Holy Spirit, He will simply shine through you. God is the light that shines within and through His church as the light of the world.

    John 1:5,9
[5]The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
[9]The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

Jesus is the light of the world in him there is no darkness. Jesus is our light and salvation. Thank you Jesus

    THE ETERNAL WORD LIVES

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

GREATER GLORY is our Mission for 2022. The Eternal WORD of GOD says that those that see JESUS behold HIS Glory. Meaning to me that EVERY TIME I look at the WORD of GOD then I see HIS Glory.

I LOVE JESUS therefore I LOVE the WORD. Read IT, Live IT, Respect IT, Share IT, Honor IT, Love IT.

I see a REVIVAL and HARVEST building, that is GREATER than anything I have ever seen, coming to The POFW.

  20. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

So much knowledge given in these few scriptures from who Jesus is – to being born again. We are blessed to understand that God manifest himself in the flesh and dwelt among us as our Savior. We are more than blessed when we receive his Spirit as the scriptures say – born again of the water and of the Spirit! Now we have His Light in us to shine for others so they too can see this truth and come into his marvelous light!

  21. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it

The light will always expose the darkness. If the truth sets you free and this word is the truth wouldn’t you say that this word is a little light of mine. Wouldn’t you say this little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine. This word is what sets captives free and we gotta lot work to do to set some captives free. We gotta reach people sitting across from us people were walking past people we see in the grocery store. EVERYONE is a candidate to hear the gospel

  22. The Kingdom of Jesus is GREATER
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

While light is always GREATER than darkness, this scripture points out something folks might have missed. The fact of the matter is, the light is bright and the Word says that darkness doesn’t comprehend it. Now, at first glance I thought I understood this scripture. I thought, “Folks in the darkness can’t ‘understand’ those who are in the light”. But as I looked up the word in the original language, I came up with another understanding.

The word “comprehend” is from G2596 and G1983; to take eagerly, that is, seize, possess, etc. (literally or figuratively): – apprehend, attain, come upon, comprehend, find, obtain, perceive, (over-) take.

Basically reading this verse in context we realize the darkness can not overtake the light. The darkness cannot possess the children of light.

  23. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

He came as the Light to be the Light and life of all men. Now that we see the Light, know the Light, and live in the Light, it is our job to bear witness like John and spread the Light wherever we go. Let your Light (Jesus) shine today and everyday!

  24. 8John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light. 9The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

Yes, it’s up to us to be the light for others. Others will see the light shining on you, they’ll see you are a man of God, and a servant. The more righteous you are, the brighter the light will shine.

Psalm 97:11 11Light shines on the godly,
and joy on those whose hearts are right.

  25. 2 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

We are not natural beings living in a spirit world, but we who are blood bought children of the King are “spiritual” beings living in a natural world. We cannot let this temporary world rule us, or even overtake us, but we must remain “spiritual” so that we do the work of Him who sent us.

It’s so easy to get our eyes off the end goal of winning people to the Lord and ensuring that we take as many as we can to Heaven with us. We get caught up in temporal things; jobs, promotions, success, life in general, money, riches, wealth, possessions and we lose sight of eternity and what it holds for everyone.

He has given us power and we must walk in that authority. Oh that we would want to be as successful spiritually that we are striving for in the natural.

  26. John 1:1,2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

WOW! WHAT A MIGHT GID WE SERVE!

Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

I Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

  27. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

I want to know HIM, but more importantly I want Jesus to know ME!

  28. 4 “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.”

If you are missing the light or feeling weak or discouraged. You need more WORD in your life. The Word will uplift encourage and speak LIFE into you.

  29. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name–[Isa. 56:5.] (‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ AMP)

So thankful for the privilege to become a child of God. And its all because of that Precious name of Jesus. That Name has been applied to us as a child of God in baptism. That Name comes with so much power and authority. That Name allows us to have access to all His Kingdom. And that Name is the key to Revival and Harvest. That name is Jesus! …..I see a REVIVAL and HARVEST building that is GREATER than anything I have ever seen coming to The POFW In Jesus Name!

  30. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

A few weeks ago in Sunday School, we talked about rejection and how even Jesus was rejected.

These verses stick out because of this year’s theme. Verse 14 says “…and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,…”Who beheld his glory? Those that “received him” We have to acknowledge that his own did not receive him, his own rejected the benefits of His glory because they did not receive him. I must examine my life and ensure that I am not in this category. I do not want to know Him and not receive all He has for me. Life can get frustrating but it cant get to the point that I refuse to receive what He is trying to teach me through circumstances and reject his teaching.

I want to live in category 2. I want to daily receive what He has for me and experience His glory. We can’t live on the mountain top but we can hold on to what we experienced there.

  31. St. John 1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name:”
To us who have Received Him and Believed in His Name – JESUS, He gave us power to become His sons/daughters/children.

So now what? What is our purpose?
St. John 1:7, “The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.”
I believe, once we have become God’s children, it is our purpose to be a Witness of the LIGHT – JESUS CHRIST. So that ALL men through Him might Receive Him and Believe in His Name and become one of His children too.

    GREATER Witness

  32. vs: 11-13
    The Living Bible
Even in his own Land and among his own people, the Jews,he was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and receive him. But to all who received him, he gave

e the right to become the children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them. All those who believe this can be reborn. Not a physical rebirth resulting from human passion or plan but from the will of God. Here John introduced a central them of his Gospel. Those do receive Him by believing on his name, become the children of God. The truth is that Jesus God Himself did become flesh and live among us.

  33. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

God is always graceful to us and his word is like paper is so fragile and we should not let anything come before it and him

  34. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
    John 1: 11-13 NLT

My God, my King, I have no words!!! I’m so grateful for Your Love, Redemption and Grace!!! I love You, my King!!

  35. “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:10, 14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Hallelujah Jesus!!!

Why would one would like to argue the word of God? The Scriptures are plain as can be! There is no other GOD. ONLY ONE THRONE, not three, He shares it with no one.

You’ll never see God contradict his word, EVER!

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭14:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  36. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The creator who created all things was manifested in the flesh and His name is Jesus. He came to redeem mankind. We have become the sons of God.

  37. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

God created everyone and everything, It is hard to grasp the concept of that. Everything we own is created and given by God. He gave man the wisdom to invent and discover. But it was from God. Each human was a creation from God. Every animal, plant, cell- everything. Nothing on the earth, under the seas or in heaven would exist if God had not made it. We are so blessed and should never take for granted what He has given us. Be thankful and take care of His temple, His people, His law, His world. For He brings the light into darkness, He created the light and the darkness. He is the Word who came to be flesh, to save us from our sinful ways. Thank you Jesus for what you have blessed me with, help me in showing your light unto others.

  38. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

God is the creator of heaven and earth and there is no nor anything beside him. He is in control of everything and he is everywhere looking at everyone.

  39. John 1

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

God created everything. Look at the hills, the sunset, animals, flowers, birds…Everything! Some people say there is no God. How can you see all the beauty in this world and deny God? I am glad Jesus has my eyes opened and further more, my heart. God IS love and thank you Jesus for letting me see the glass half full instead of half empty.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  40. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

As the children of God, we can be that light. As a light, darkness has no power over us. If we are to shine bright and consistently, we cannot allow the things of this world to distract us. God gives his people power to overcome the things of the world. We can stand bold and strong on the word of God and do great things.

  41. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

There is no circumstance that GOD cannot comprehend. Even when our own reject us, THE GREAT I AM ALREADY knows what we feel….
BUT what about If our flesh was so submitted unto GOD , to the point that it doesn’t matter who rejects us , that we would know without a shadow of a doubt that it is not us that is being rejected but the GOD IN US!!! Crucifying the flesh so that nothing shall offend us!!! TRUSTING IN GOD that HIS WILL BE DONE and not mine own….

  42. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

  43. The greatest of all messages is that the almighty God manifested Himself in human flesh as the Son of Hod for the redemption of all mankind.
In Jesus Christ was all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, ready to die for our sins that we might have the opportunity to experience salvation He purchased with His own blood.

  44. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

    It’s all about Him.
Before anything was there was the word and when everything is done there will be the word.
When God speaks it will happen

  45. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Yes you face some very hard dark times in life, but you cannot give up. You have to remember that no matter what God is by your side giving you strength and he will make sure that at the end he will shine his light brighter than ever. With God he will always make sure you get joy and strength.

  46. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

People get drawn to us because of the Holy Ghost that is within us. We are called to direct people to the Light, to Jesus. And let know that great things he has and continues to do for us, and to give an answer to everyone that asks of the hope that is within us.

  47. 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

We were made in his image to do his will, God let us put your will above everything, and let the older serve the younger everyday. God you are good all the time!!!!!

  48. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

One of the first five verses I learned as a child and still one of my favorites still today.

  49. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Without JESUS WE CAN DO NOTHING!!! With JESUS ALL GOOD that we do COMES FROM HIM ALONE!!!
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

  50. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

We couldn’t even breathe if it wasn’t for God, he is the light in the darkness. Even when we don’t seem him , he is there. Even when you think everything you have is gone, he is there waiting to pick you right back up stronger then before

  51. “They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The elder will serve the younger! Thank you Jesus for our birth in You. Thank You Jesus for doing the impossible and creating us in your image. For if it had not been for the Lord on my side!

  52. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

When we put the word in us it drives out the darkness in our hearts filling us with his light.lord today I eat you word , fill me with your light that I might walk in your likeness.
