40 Days of FIRE – Day 28 – Acts Chapter 28

Day 28: Acts Ch.28. Paul finally reaches Rome, the center of trade and government in the Western world in his day. From there, others would carry the Gospel around the world. As the Gospel spread, God used dramatic conversions, courageous missionaries, and miraculous healings. The early Church movement overcame angry crowds, shipwrecks, and death, as it traversed 20 centuries to our day. Pray today that we would faithfully go, carrying the transformational message of Jesus Christ to the next generation.

Acts 28

And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.

13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

19 But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

  1. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

From a prisoner he became a guest. Was that just because of his testimony?? Or did it had to do with his raw but persuasive truth? Paul never sugar coated the Gospel, he talked to everyone with the upmost respect but spoke the truth as I said raw! I usually ask the Holy Ghost to give me the wisdom to speak to the person, to allow that persons heart to be te ser so the seed can be planted, and to give me Paul’s boldness when I speak. When you speak with respect and boldness people listen to you because you sound confident and convinced about what you’re talking about.. it’s like when you go by a Chevy truck and you see the s Al’s person driving a Ford you just don’t buy it. It’s the same way you MUST FIRST BELIEVE AND BE CONVINCED THAT WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT IS TEUE! May God give us all that boldness, courage, and confidence for the times are here now! Today is the day of SALVATION!

  2. Acts of the Apostles 28:27,31
[27]For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear,  and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear,  and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me  and let me heal them.’
[31]boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.

Jesus I pray for every person that we talk to that their hearts and minds will be open to you and your word. You are a miracle worker and can turn things around.

  3. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

It will be in vain for anyone to object from this that the Gospel of Christ causes contentious. When it is obvious that these spring only from the stubbornness of man. And indeed, to enjoy peace with God, we must wage war with those who treat Him with contempt.

  4. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

The Lord provided Paul an ironic safety from the Jews that sought to kill him, by placing him under the protective guard of the Roman centurions. Paul was essentially placed under house arrest, which allowed him to spread the gospel in relative safety, by preaching to all of his visitors.

  5. 24. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

It’s that simple – some will believe, some won’t. We never know who will and who won’t. Don’t assume you can tell, who could have guessed some of us would be where we are?

  6. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

    Hallelujah!
    Thank You Jesus!

  7. So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening. Some were persuaded by the things he said, but others did not believe.
Acts of the Apostles 28:23‭-‬24 NLT

Some people cannot be reached. The greatest apostle who ever lived was unable to persuade some people. Even Jesus couldn’t reach everyone, but I did to stop him from attempting to. The Bible instructs us to spread the gospel and to reach for people it does not tell us that everyone will accept it, in fact it tells us to shake the dust from our feet when they reject us. We do not get to decide who goes to heaven and who doesn’t we only get to present the opportunity should they choose it

  8. “For the heart of this people is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes have they closed; Lest they should see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should be converted, And I should heal them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here we are. Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ is at a place where the LORD has sent him to deliver the word of the LORD.
Sadly not all hearts will understand the passion of Paul as he speaks. We are living in these times today. Everyone has a voice that needs to be heard, but only truth will prevail in our Nation as the ‘love of many wax cold.’
As it was preached over the pulpit the church ‘needs to stand up!’ We have the truth we must deliver the gospel no matter the cost, even if we face everything that Paul has faced on his journey.
This is the heart of a servant of the LORD… S. O. U. L. S/A. L. M. A. S. You will lose family, friends, etc. But ‘as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.’
Jesus gave His all for you and I. Paul and others have followed in the same footsteps as Jesus. The baton has been passed on to us. Though the pain has been deep for my husband and I, GOD has given us the strength, peace, comfort, and courage to continue in the faith for such a time as this.
I am so thankful for the leadership of our a pastor and His Wife for being an example of what it is to be an apostolic minister of Jesus Christ.

“preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:2-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  9. Once we were safe on shore, we learned that we were on the island of Malta. The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us. As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.” But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭28:1-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God had promised safe passage of Paul to Rome, and He would let nothing stop His servant. The poisonous viper that bit Paul was unable to harm him. Our lives are in God’s hands, to continue on or to come to an end in His good timing. God still had work for Paul to do in this life, and as long as He keeps us here He has work for us to do too.

  10. 3 NLT “As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand.
5 But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.”
    ‭‭
When you are doing the LORD’s will, no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

  11. Acts 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Ephesians 6:19,20 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel.
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

  12. 29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

There is power in the word of God.
Paul preaching the Old Testament the same power that those men were led by was still shown through scripture in his time. The old is not not dead I’ll say it again THE OLD IS NOT DEAD. Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever HIS word changes NOT. When you’re in a position not knowing what to do just speak Gods word and watch happens.

This is why we gotta get the word in our hearts so we can preach it even when we’re shackled and outnumbered if I’m going down I’m going down with the word of God

  13. GREATER
    MOVED BY THE FIRE

3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

The phrase in verse 3 that caught my attention today is “viper out of the heat”. The natural experience revealed a spiritual principal to us. 40 Days of FIRE or (Passion for JESUS) brings out the vipers.

VIPER – 1: a venomous or reputedly venomous snake
2: a vicious or treacherous person

If there is any viper the FIRE will reveal them to us. However we need not to expect a viper in every FIRE. This illustration is not to “scare” us into believing that there is a snake in every pile of wood. Do not expect a devil to show up every time you do pray.

BUT if there is one, we need to run them out by the HEAT of HOLY GHOST Passion for REVIVAL in our hearts.

REVIVAL FIRE is to move us to GREATER levels of FAITH, AUTHORITY and VICTORY. REVIVAL FIRE also moves venomous and vicious spirits and people out. We must simply be ready and willing to shake off their accusations and attacks.

1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Keep the FIRE on the ALTAR burning and keep the vipers out! BUT if one comes out, shake it off into the FIRE.

  14. The Kingdom of Heaven is GREATER
The Jews rejected the gospel and it was sent to the Gentiles…Is it possible that now the Gentiles will reject the gospel in the endtime and the Jews will receive it? Well, according to the book of Revelation that’s the way it’s gonna go down.

  15. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

We must pray for the world today for wide is the road to hell and narrow is the way to heaven. We must pray that the hearts of people would have good soil for the seed to be planted in their hearts and that God would water it. We are in the last days and we know that Satan will fight against all Christians who are trying to witness to the loss. But Greater is Jesus!

  16. “And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Bro. Azzolini stated this past week that we don’t build ourselves up but those we surround ourselves with do. Those who came to meet Paul made him thankful and built his courage. We all will experience weary ness at some point but we have to be proactive and surround ourselves with those who have a relationship with God and can encourage us.

  17. The Living Bible
    vs4

A poisonous snake driving out by the heat fastened onto his hand.
    The people
of the island saw it hanging there and said to each other, a murderer , no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.

The snake bite was first assumed as proof Paul was a criminal. When he survived, it was thought to be proof he was a god.
How foolish it is to jump to conclusions from observation of a incident or two. Let’s be more wise in withholding judgment on others, whether that judgment condemns or exalts.

  18. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

First they thought him to be a murderer then thought they him to be a god…..when Paul healed Publius’ father everyone that was sick began to come for their healing…… Here are the miracles , signs and wonders…….GREATER!!!

  19. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

They don’t believe, that’s why they can’t see the truth and hear what is being said unto them. They’re hearts weren’t open to receive what he was saying to them. They were complacent to what they already knew therefore when it was time for them to keep growing they rejected the word of God.

  20. 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

When we prophesy revival and prophesy for prodigals to return home, I believe God will open the hearts and minds of souls in our region and in our families. I pray he softens their hearts and open their minds so they can hear and receive the apostolic doctrine. I pray he heals the cause of the backsliding of the prodigals so that they are drawn again unto Him. We speak Revival in our home so we can be used for kingdom in these last days. In Jesus name.

  21. 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

When the Jews would not listen to Paul, God turned to the Gentiles. We will meet people that are not going to receive what we have to say, but God always has a people hungry for Him. Shake the dust off your feet from those who refuse truth, and keep sharing with others. God will lead us to hungry people that are searching for MORE of Him and for Him to become GREATER in them.

Don’t grow weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not!

  22. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Sometimes it’s as easy as shaking the problem off. It’s not necessary to panic and pity half the time. Just shake it off quick as you can and you will feel no harm, but the longer you dwell on it, the longer that “venom” will flow and invade your spiritual, emotional, and mental health.

Call on Jesus and shake it off!

  23. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

So often we forget that we have the power to heal like Paul did. We are kings and queens of God and His poorer lives within us. Paul believed and trusted in God’s plan.

  24. For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
Acts of the Apostles 28:30‭-‬31 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.28.30-31.NLT

We don’t know the full ess of God’s plan for our lives, but no matter where we are we can always welcome others in and share the Plan of Salvation for their lives!!

  25. And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

Paul never missed an opportunity to share the gospel. May we be so bold

  26. 4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
    *******************
Wishy washy, They are believing what they see, one moment he’s a criminal next he’s a god. Are we that way in our Christian walk. Are we luke warm toward God. Go to church on Sunday and live like the devil the rest of the week. Oh, that we should be cold or hot, for God will sprew out the luke warm. Living for God is a privilege that He gave to us, for we are all sinners but He made a way to free us. I know I need MORE fire poured into me to make me hot (on fire) for Jesus, The world give conflicting information and there are hardships everywhere, the ship is sinking, we are drowning in the attacks of the enemy, but if we keep our eyes on the Lord and what He has in store for us then we can have safe passage. We can shake off the beast that tries to harm us with Holy Ghost Fire that lives in us. Thank you Jesus for your protection.

  27. Acts 28:23, “And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the Kingdom of God, persuading them concerning JESUS, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.”
Acts 28:31, “Preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the LORD JESUS CHRIST, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.”

One thing’s for sure about Paul, no matter what he went though – all the afflictions (suffering, pain, trouble, hardship, adversity, etc…), he stayed true to his Mission (assignment, commission, work, duty, calling, purpose, etc…), and that was Expounding (explaining) and Testifying and Preaching the Kingdom of God – and the things concerning JESUS CHRIST.

Lord, Help us/me, that no matter what we/I go through, we/I Will Stay True To The Mission of Expounding, Testifying, and Preaching Your Kingdom – JESUS!

  28. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not

When Paul arrived in Rome, he was put under house arrest. He was able to call for the Jews and speak to them. They hadn’t heard from the Jews in Judea, so they were friendly and let Paul speak to them. Some of them believed and some didn’t. Paul mentioned their blindness and said the gospel would be preached among the Gentiles. Paul preached the gospel to all people, but he would rather go to people who were most receptive.

God showed that even when things look bad that it could actually be good, when Peter got bit everyone thought that he wouldn’t have much time to live, but God showed them that when Peter had no doubts and had faith in him God can heal his hand, after God healed Peters hand everyone thought he was a God but it is important that we give all the glory to God, and that we do not praise our self’s but it’s only by God that Peter could’ve been healed, we should instead of taking glory tell people about how God healed us, and how God can heal them and save them in many ways, and maybe they would turn to God after seeing a great miracle in our life’s.

  30. 25 They disagreed among themselves and they began to leave after Paul had made one last statement: “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, saying, 26 ‘Go to this people and say,
“You will keep on hearing, but will not understand, You will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;27 “For the heart (the understanding, the soul) of this people has become dull (calloused), And with their ears they scarcely hear, And they have shut their eyes [to the truth]; Otherwise they might see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart and return [to Me], And I would heal them.”’ AMP

I pray that God will open the eyes to see, the ears to hear, the mind to understand, and the heart to receive. Let us turn back to the Lord.

God has promised that everyone would someday worship Him, “ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the Lord’s and he is the governor among the nations’ Psalms 22:27-28

Hod never intended that anyone should keep the gospel to himself, but to share it with the world.
The preaching of the gospel still works.

  32. Acts 28: 28 ( amp) So let it be understood by you then this message of the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen [ to it]!
Ps 67:2 That Your way may be known upon earth Your saving power [ Your deliverances and Your salvation],among all nations.
Tell the people come and hear ,all you people who reverently and worshipfully fear God.
Every knee going to bow and every tongue going to confess that Jesus is Lord of Lord and Kings of Kings.
Tell your testimony and be a witness in Jesus name.

  33. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

The lights are on but nobody is home. If you reject Jesus you can hear, but never understand. You can see, but never recognize. Open up your heart and mind to Jesus and let him consume you in the most beautiful way possible.

Thank you Jesus for your word.

  34. “He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It doesn’t matter how long we are given a task we must do it without complaint. Paul taught the word of god with no complaints and did not stood. Even though there may come bumps in the road we should not give up and loose hope. There are certain callings god has placed in each of our lives and we must fulfill them. Don’t ever allow anyone to stop you from fulfilling that which god has called you to do.

  35. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

There are times when we will need to shake some things off. Things that man to do us harm will attach itself to us and try to bring us down. Through God, we have the power to get rid of those things. They may try to clamp on, but it will bring us no harm because God protects his people.

  36. 10 Who also honored us with many honors; when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.
God provided everything they needed to preach the Gospel in Rome.
God is a provider for the ones who obey his commandments.

  37. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

Paul taught them through the law of Mosses and the prophets. We can find Jesus in the Law several times and in Isaiah for example and in many other prophets. That’s the reason Paul said that they were blind and deaf, and the gospel will be preached to the gentiles and they will hear.
Paul showed all the evidences in the Bible and all the prophecy fulfilled in Jesus, but they refused to believe. Those who believe in the Lord are called children of God.Thank you Jesus!

  38. 21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

As apostolics we have a reputation. People know about us. They are watching our every move.

Let’s not disappoint them, but let’s show the Jesus

  39. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

  40. Verses 30-31 MSG “Paul lived for two years in his rented house. He welcomed everyone who came to visit. He urgently presented all matters of the kingdom of God. He explained everything about Jesus Christ. His door was always open.” Paul knew how to shake off all the vipers that tried to latch on and was always willing to share with everyone as his door was always open. Be GREATER!

  41. 1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

Sometimes we barely escape one storm just to walk into another. We must remember though.

  42. 7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

We must tell others what Jesus is doing, and let him draw souls

  43. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

We don’t know who it is that will respond to the message in a good way. Some will receive and and believe and others will not. Just keep on spreading and sharing. God will speak to those and they will answer.

  44. 6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

People continuously keep watching us! They watch us often. They see a miracle or a change in our life, normally for the better, but they continuously watching to see if it’s fake or if it’s all a show. Some may put us on a pedestal in their mind, but we are always needing to ensure the realization that it is not by us, but that it is all God. Don’t worry about those that think they know best or even don’t believe in this truth! It is our job to show people God’s love and tell about his miraculous traits. . . But we cannot make them go to Heaven, we cannot make them choose to serve Him! So, let them watch and even doubt. It is their choice.

  45. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. Just like sin if we shake it off before it builds up inside of us that’s a good thing but if we don’t it get built up and turns into a mountain

  46. 28So I want you to know that this salvation from God has also been offered to the Gentiles, and they will accept it.”i

Salvation is for everyone. Many might think God doesn’t want them, because their sins are too great or too many. They feel that God has rejected them. But God is gracious, and forgives us, if we only ask. Yes, it’s that simple.

  47. “So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening. Some were persuaded by the things he said, but others did not believe.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭28:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We have an assignment. We are to go and teach and make disciples. We must go and let Jesus out of our four walls and testify of His goodness. And once we do that let God do the rest.
