Acts 9

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

  1. 17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

In a touching display of Christian grace and love, Ananias expresses full fellowship with the new convert by laying his hands on him, calling him “ Brother Saul,” and explaining the purpose of his visit. It was that Saul might receive his sight and that he might be filled with the Holy Spirit. Each member of a local church should go out and win Souls for Christ by personal contact,

  2. Acts of the Apostles 9:1,4-5,15
[1]Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest.
[4]He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”
[5]“Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!
[15]But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.

God can turn anyone’s heart and mind around from their ways and use them mightily to serve in his kingdom.

  3. 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

This is exactly the same situation of Lazarus when they desired Jesus to go before it was to late. That’s the same feeling the two men felt about to find Peter wanting him to go before Tabitha died. That’s exactly how we once all felt you can come now Jesus before things get even more worse. This is exactly what Preacher Brother Wade preached about. It all comes to making sure Jesus gets the glory when HE raises one from death to life.
    Hallelujah!
    Thank You Jesus!

  4. In reading this chapter this morning, the question came to mind: Why Saul? Why not Ananias (sure maybe that thought came to he himself) to share the good news? Verses 15-16 MSG tells us “But the Master said, “Don’t argue. Go! I have picked him as my personal representative to non-Jews and kings and Jews. And now I’m about to show him what he’s in for—the hard suffering that goes with this job.” You were chosen for a purpose, for a calling and to share your personal story to reach for certain souls that the Lord chose you to reach.

Deuteronomy 14:2 AMP says “for you are a holy people [set apart] to the Lord your God; and the Lord has chosen you out of all the peoples who are on the earth to be a people for His own possession.” John 15:16 VOICE “You did not choose Me. I chose you, and I orchestrated all of this so that you would be sent out and bear GREAT and perpetual fruit. As you do this, anything you ask the Father in My name will be done.” Be GREATER!

  5. 29. And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

It doesn’t take long for folks to turn on you when you stop believing the way they do.
I can remember when we had to hide a former Church of God Pastor and his vehicles after he got the Oneness revelation because his former church members were riding around town, looking for him!

  6. 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

God’s ways are higher than mans’ ways. The Lord often uses thoes tha men would choose the least. The same determination Saul/Paul used to persecute the church was used by God as zeal for wittnessing and preaching the Gospel.

  7. Acts 9: 15 -16 But the Lord said unto him ,Do thy way; for he is chosen vessel unto me, to bear My name before the Gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel.
    16) For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am
the way,the truth, and the life,no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Saul was severely persecuting the followers of Christ.
Saul was blind, and God heal him,and use him to preach to the Gentiles.
No matter what comes your way, Keep following Jesus don’t let Go.
Go and preach to the Gospel.

  8. So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Acts of the Apostles 9:17 NLT

Ananias was specifically chosen for this calling. We know very little about him beforehand and we know very little of what happened after. God brought him to witness to Saul would become a pillar in the New testament Church. Ananias seem to be the one that was most qualified by Christ to step into dangerous territory and witness to a man who desire to kill anyone who calls on that name
And yet without batting an eye, he prayed over him on that very name.

  9. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

What kind of reputation did you have before God stepped in and chose you to do great things and suffer for His cause??? It do not matter!!!! Thank you Jesus!!! It’s ALL UNDER THE BLOOD!!! Jesus stopped in the middle of everything and said I don’t care what they say about you! I don’t care that you were persecuting me and my people and bringing them to be executed! I am going to turn you around to our team and you will add thousands upon thousands to my Glory!!! Yes!!! That simple!!! Within seconds your full reputation puff gone!! That’s my GOD! Thank you Jesus for picking me up from the muddy clay, cleaning me up white as snow, and putting my feet in solid rock!! Never ever to go back!

  10. 31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Because of change of leadership of Rome attention was off the church. Which gave the church a short period of rest. When you walk in fear of the LORD you will have comfort from the Holy Spirit.

  11. A and Peter said unto him Aeneas Jesus Christ maketh
Thee whole, : arise and make thy bed and he arose immediately.
    —-
    Arise and make thy bed….
Whenever the Lord answers our prayer
Gives us that which we have asked
I see here that something must change in our lives
Wether it’s to stop something or start something .
    Can’t stay the same.

  12. “Afterward he ate some food and regained his strength. Saul stayed with the believers in Damascus for a few days.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sometimes we can make things a spiritual battle, when it’s a natural consequence.

They had prayed, and received a miracle. Yet he still had to eat, a natural consequence of eating is receiving energy.

In our daily lives God can only provide, He will not “make” us partake or participate. That’s up to us.

If you have prayed, read the word, and still feeling out of sorts….go eat.

  13. Yall ever wonder how Peter believed? Ya’ll reckon if Peter thought like we think in the 21st Century Tabitha would have stayed dead?

Well, God needed another angel in heaven so he took Tabitha…Well God wanted her so he took her…Well, it was just Tabitha’s time to go…

How would Peter have an ounce of faith to raise the dead with those kind of thoughts? Peter had a revelation. The revelation is simple yet profound. Just because a person dies doesn’t mean it’s their time to go.

  14. ‘Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: and here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: ‘

    Acts 9:13-15
It dont matter what you have done in your life time once your baptized in Jesus name everything is washed by the blood and no one can judge you for your past. When God calls you and fills you with the holy ghost thats it theres no stopping what God calls. What the enemy meant for evil Gods about to use for good HIS GOOD be a winner today in Jesus name

  15. 34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

Don’t forget to make your bed! When you get up and make your bed it’s because you’re done sleeping in it, and not going back to it. Have enough faith to make your bed and not return to old habits when God gives you your miracle!

  16. I love POFW LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS2 GREATER! 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
It’s as the Lord saying you are so strong against me I can barely help you

  17. 11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

I wonder what his prayer was??? I believe he prayeth (prayed continually, without ceasing) when we get to this point we begin to pray GOD’S WILL BE DONE……. divine appointments bring unto us JESUS

  18. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

No matter how many mistakes we make God still has a purpose for us.

  19. “And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, and desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The same tenacity Saul had in persecuting believers, Jesus used for His Kingdom. You never know what God has in store for someone no matter what they’ve done. just know whenever you talk with someone, you are talking to a child of the King.

  20. 26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

We cannot decide who is worthy or not of salvation – we can’t know the heart of a person – only God can. It’s our commission to reach and teach all, to sow the seed and God grants the increase. Thank God for the conversion of Saul, for he was used by God to establish churches and write many of the New Testament books that we read today.

  21. The Living Bible
    vs-17
So Ananias went over and found Paul and laid hands on him and said, Brother Paul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you may be filled with the Holy Spirit and get your sight back.

    Saints, Brothers
These two terms were used to identify believers. Saints is literally the holy one indicating believers have been set apart by God and the believers choose to live a holy life. Brother is used in the sense of (fellow believer) affirming the intimate relationship between saints established by a common faith in Jesus and common relationship with Jesus.

  22. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

God can choose anyone or anything for his kingdom so that the lost may be saved. God doesn’t force us to do anything but he will allow things to come to us that we may turn around and do his will.

  23. Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord!” he replied. The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now. I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.” “But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias, “I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem! And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.” But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:10-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What if Ananias had refused to obey he would have missed the greatest accomplishment and blessings of his entire life.We must never underestimate the value of one person brought to Jesus. Peter ministered to thousands, but Ananias was sent to only one man.

  24. 17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Even though Ananias was concerned about this Saul that had persecuted the church, he followed the instructions of the Lord, and referred to Saul as Brother Saul even before he was his brother in Christ.

We are instructed in the Bible to call those things that are not, as though they were. When our faith acts upon those things, we put words to our faith and God can move. It is when there is no action or faith that God is challenged to respond.

Get out those list of backsliders, family and friends that you want to see saved, and begin to call them out of their situations. Call them Brother or Sister so and so and let’s demonstrate the faith and action for God to move on them.

  25. GREATER
    RADICALLY APOSTOLIC PRAYER

29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

Boldness to speak the in the name of JESUS is not a given natural product of conversion. If this was the case then everyone with the Holy Ghost would be speaking BOLDLY in the name of JESUS.

Where did this BOLDNESS come from?

    PRAYER = Communication with JESUS

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Saul had such a RADICALLY APOSTOLIC PRAYER with JESUS that it literally changed his identity. From Saul to Paul and from Persecutor to Preacher.

I believe these SUPERNATURAL encounters are available to us today. JESUS is searching the earth for men and women to see the revelation and answer the call to RADICALLY APOSTOLIC PRAYER that we will “speak boldly in the name of JESUS”.

  26. 34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

The miracles and healings caused many people to turn to the Lord. Signs, wonders, miracles and healings are needed today to get people’s attention. The gifts of the spirit are needed in the Church. Thank God for truth and the power of the Holy Ghost.

    .

  27. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
    *****************
We all have a past. God can use each one of us for His purpose, sometimes He uses us to help someone else to fulfill their purpose. God will move heaven and earth to bring about what He has planned. We mustn’t listen to gossip and rumors about someone. It seems to me that the person who had the worst past has the greatest testimony. We all do, just some seems unlikely to have happened. But God is a way maker, a miracle maker. There is nothing impossible for the creator of the universe. Just as Ananias responded and obeyed, we too must act quickly on what the Lord tell us to do, don’t argue or make excuses just go, do, tell. Do your part and He will do the rest. Thank you Jesus for answered prayers.

  28. Acts 9:10-19 (MSG)
    10) There was a disciple in Damascus by the name of Ananias. The Master spoke to him in a vision: Ananias. Yes, Master, he answered.
11-12) Get up and go over to Straight Avenue. Ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus. His name is Saul. He’s there praying. He has just had a dream in which he saw a man named Ananias enter the house and lay hands on him so he could see again.
13-14) Ananias protested, Master, you can’t be serious. Everybody’s talking about this man and the terrible things he’s been doing, his reign of terror against your people in Jerusalem! And now he’s shown up here with papers from the Chief Priest that give him license to do the same to us.
15-16) But the Master said, Don’t argue. Go! I have picked him as my personal representative to non-Jews and kings and Jews. And now I’m about to show him what he’s in for – the hard suffering that goes with this job.
17-18) So Ananias went and found the house, placed his hands on blind Saul, and said, Brother Saul, the Master sent me, the same JESUS you saw on your way here. He sent me so you could see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit. No sooner were the words out of his mouth than something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes – he could see again! He got to his feet, was baptized, and sat down with them to a hearty meal.

Sometimes, God is going to ask us to do something for His Kingdom that challenges us. He’s going to ask us to Step Out Of Our Comfort Zone. When He does, we need to learn to Overcome Our Fear With Faith. We need to just be Obedient and Go and Do what He wants us to Do – Trusting In Him and Knowing He Will Take Care Of The Rest.

    Be GREATER!
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
    Overcome Fear With Faith
Be Obedient – Go – Do

  29. 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

Even doing wrong, Saul wanted to stay submitted. We would be wise to do the same, and DTAY SUBMITTED.

  30. 29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
For these Hellenistic Jews, the words of Paul weren’t believable even though he proved to them with the scripture in the prophets! that Jesus was the messiah. he is preaching to the what they call very religious professors of the law of God.
In the 31 years of my Christian life, I have seen many false preaching. and the scarry part is that many people listen to this preaching without discerning whether comes from the bible or from men’s fables.
Today days many Christian believers break the commandments of God for the fables of men.
These are the words of Jesus in the gospel of Jahn 5;43
I have come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

  31. Acts 9

Saul whom had persecuted the Jews, had been stopped by Jesus. Saul asked who he was and he said “Jesus” whom he had persecuted him. He was blinded for three days and was told to wait for instructions. Saul had been evil and was changed to do good for Jesus and the Jews. This is a good example of how people can change for the better! With our Lord Jesus Christ anything IS possible.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  32. 26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

When we go through rough times, or we repent and turn from our sinful past ( whether we are backslidden and still in church, or just off the street) we are wise to get close to someone we can spiritually look up to, so that we too might be strengthened when we fail to realize we have enough just by having Jesus…

  33. Paul had a come to Jesus meeting. There comes a time in our life when we need a come to Jesus meeting. When we stray away from God’s plan, we must find our way back. Only God can lead us to the ultimate victory.

  34. “And Peter said unto him, Æneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:34, 40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is that of what we’ve been hearing over the pulpit!

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and GREATER works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭14:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is us the church at work in our region. Here we go!!!

How far can a person go when they are totally submitted/committed to the call of GOD in their lives? Stop limiting what JESUS has purposed in your life. Thy KINGDOM come, Thy wii be done.

I see a REVIVAL and harvest BUILDING that is greater than anything I have ever seen coming to the Pofw/LPDFW

  35. 3 9 Then Peter arose and went with them.

Peter prayed to God and then he spoke to the dead and God raised the dead. Peter’s responsibility was to communicate to the Father and then the father would cause the words he spoke to the need to come to pass.

  36. And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

  37. Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest.

There will be some that want to stop the advancements of the Kingdom, but what God puts in motion you cannot stop! And God Himself will deal with those that have toiled against His Kingdom!
    Hallelujah, Jesus!!

  38. 33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

I would say the theme of this chapter would be “Arise!”

Arise! It’s praising time! Let the people of God lift up the cry! Everybody arise! It’s praising time! Let all the worshipers lift up the cry!
Holy is the Lord, God be glorified! Holy is the Lord, God be glorified! Fill this house with worship, praises lifted high! Arise! It’s praising time!
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, let the redeemed of the Lord say so, let the redeemed of the Lord say so; arise!

  39. For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

It’s not always sunshine and rainbows and laughter all around, but there are days when it’s just life, and there are days that the Lord has allowed certain things to happen in our lives. Nonetheless? We are not alone. For he promises that he will be with us even to the end of the world. He promises that he will be our comfort and our very present help in time of need. He promises that we can call on him and he will answer; he promises that if if we seek him with all our heart he will be found. In all those thing in the bad and in the good God is with us.

  40. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
