Galatians 1

Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

14 And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.

20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;

22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

24 And they glorified God in me.

  1. 21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;

22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

24 And they glorified God in me.

The Church of Jude’s did not know him personally. All they knew was that this one who had treated the Christians so cruelly was now a Christian himself and was preaching Christ to others. Because of this, they glorified God for what He had done in the life of Paul. ( Do others glorify God because of the Change in our lives?)

    A.L.M.A.S.

  2. 23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

Whom man lest expects to do the works of witnessing can be whom the Lord seeks the most. The fererent desire of Paul to perform his reglious duties against Christains was tunered toward building up the Church.

  3. 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

We must always please God in everything we do because He has given grace unto all especially being born again and receiving His Holy Spirit.
    Hallelujah!
    Thank You Jesus!

  4. Verses 4-7 ERV “Jesus gave himself for our sins to free us from this evil world we live in. This is what God our Father wanted. The glory belongs to God forever and ever. Amen. A short time ago God chose you to follow him. He chose you through his grace that came through Christ. But now I am amazed that you are already turning away and believing something different from the Good News we told you. There is no other message that is the Good News, but some people are confusing you. They want to change the Good News about Christ.” We must be very careful and not allow others to confuse, twist or distort the truth to try and benefit themselves. The Lord came to rescue and there is no confusion in that. Colossians 1:20-23 ERV says “And through him, God was happy to bring all things back to himself again—things on earth and things in heaven. God made peace by using the blood sacrifice of his Son on the cross. At one time you were separated from God. You were his enemies in your minds, because the evil you did was against him. But now he has made you his friends again. He did this by the death Christ suffered while he was in his body. He did it so that he could present you to himself as people who are holy, blameless, and without anything that would make you guilty before him. And that is what will happen if you continue to believe in the Good News you heard. You must remain strong and sure in your faith. You must not let anything cause you to give up the hope that became yours when you heard the Good News. That same Good News has been told to everyone on earth, and that’s the work that I, Paul, was given to do.” We too were given this work to do! Be GREATER!

  5. 10. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

    1 Thessalonians 2:
    4. But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

    Colossians 3:
    22. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

    23. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

  6. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Wow, I reckon there’s a lot of cursed folk out there cause a lot of folk have added a bunch of false religious ideas to the Word

  7. not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. (‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭7-9‬ ESV)

The Lord is seeking those to worship him in Spirit and in Truth. I cherish the Word, His Truth. And also our heritage. We must go back to our roots that grounded us in the faith. Let us examine ourselves as we journey back to our roots to remove any pollutants or worldliness from our lives. We live in this world but we’re not of this world. We’re just passing through.

  8. Galatians 1: 8-9 Bur though we, or an angel from heaven ,preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you,let him be accursed.
    9) As we said before,so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Just Be Church,Jesus is same today and for ever.

  9. 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

I find it almost uplifting that the early church faced some of the similar issues that we face today. People who seem to start off strong in the gospel but are easily swayed away into something that makes him feel comfortable but is far from true. Not only does it help us identify how to resolve issues but it lets us know that the early church was dealing with the same problems that we deal with today in the church.

  10. Galatians 1:3-4
[3]May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
[4]Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.

God’s saving grace is the unmerited favor of God that reconciles sinners through Jesus Christ.

    Ephesians 2:4-5,8
[4]But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much,
[5]that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
[8]God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

  11. “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I love they way Paul put this scripture! He had already knew what it was like to get the approval of the world around him at the time before he was Paul he got the approval of the Jewish people that he was with when he was persecuting Gods people.

Paul knew that instead of that he wanted the truth he wanted to please God the one who gave him the truth and opened his eyes.

Truth Hurts! But Gods truth will hurt what your flesh wants but will strengthen your spirit.

  12. 10 NLT “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

Are you more concerned about pleasing GOD or man? Don’t let the negative opinions of people who don’t know Christ deter you from doing His will by spreading His Word.

‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭NLT “For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.”
    ‭‭

  13. 15 but when it please God who separated me from my mothers womb and called me by his grace.
    ——-
    Hallelujah 🙌
Good is good. It all started even before I was born, wow!!!
    The Lords time is perfect.
Thank you Lord also for your Holy Spirit.
The hope of glory, my hope Jesus.

  14. “All they knew was that people were saying, “The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!” And they praised God because of me.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Your testimony should not exalt anything or anybody else boy God! Many times people think they are telling their testimony and giving him the honor. But they end up just telling a story of the evil they have done, seeking glory for them selves. And they get it.

Make sure your testimony is a song that gives Glory to God and not the sin you came out of.

Paul had a good testimony but never once took the glory for it. God did!

  15. Galatians 1:13-16 & 23 (NLT)
    13) You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion — how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it.
    14) I was far ahead of my fellow Jews in my zeal for the traditions of my ancestors.
    15) But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his Marvelous Grace. Then it pleased him
    16) To reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about JESUS to the Gentiles.

    23) All they knew was that people were saying, The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy.

    “Radical Transformation”
Radical — thorough, complete, total, drastic, major, etc…
Transformation — change, conversion, reshaping, renewing, remaking, etc…
When God chose and called Paul by His Marvelous Grace to Preach and Proclaim the Good News of JESUS, Paul went through a “Radical Transformation.” Paul is not the man he once was, BUT Paul, who once persecuted the church, is now Preaching and Proclaiming the Good News of JESUS. He’s been “Radically Transformed.” He is a new creature in Christ.

When JESUS (who gave His life for our sins — to rescue us from this evil world) chose and called us by His Marvelous Grace to Preach and Proclaim the Good News of JESUS, we too went through a “Radical Transformation.” We are not the man/woman we once were. “We are new creatures in Christ: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. – 2 Cor. 5:17” We are no longer unbelievers, but Believers Preaching and Proclaiming the Good News of JESUS.

Thank You JESUS For Giving Your Life For Us!
Thank You JESUS For Your Marvelous Grace!
Thank You JESUS For “Radically Transforming” Our Lives To Be GREATER!

  16. GREATER
    LEADERSHIP

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

This passage reminds me of Tuesdays Leadership lesson in regard to speaking with Confidence what JESUS says is not always what is popular.

    MSG
10 Do you think I speak this strongly in order to manipulate crowds? Or court favor with God? Or get popular applause? If my goal was popularity, I wouldn’t bother being Christ’s slave.

The apostle Paul is teaching us here that our Apostolic Pentecostal message will not always be the most popular.

    BUT

We have NO right, privilege or approval to change it. I pray JESUS convict every minister who has aspired to be popular with people to change or lessen HIS Gospel. I pray a REVIVAL of sound doctrine and a restoration of the Apostolic Message among the believers.

I pray to stand before JESUS in judgement with this testimony:

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

Thank you JESUS for your Holy WORD and Holy SPIRIT! I pray for wisdom to Be HOLY as YOU are HOLY.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS
iSee a REVIVAL and HARVEST building that is GREATER than anything I have ever seen coming to The POFW.

  17. I love POFW LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS2 GREATER! Praise without ceasing to Jesus our Lord and savior.

  18. “I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:6-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Ay this point no pointing fingers at anyone else. As Pastor would say remember when you’re so concerned about point your finger at someone else, remember this that you have three pointing right back at you.
When a Christian man/ woman begins to let their guard (armour) down, they are setting themselves up failure. It’s a tragedy waiting to happen, even a spiritual death. You’ve caved in to the temptations of the enemy and it’s world. But these are the children that we try to reach and pray for daily. We love them all and hope for their return sooner than later before it is to late.

“Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:7-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  19. 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism and we have searched the scriptures and this truth. Many of us arrived here thru Bible studies that show salvation is through the born again message in John 3:3-8. Now we must stand on this truth and be a light, directioning others to come this way.

  20. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

There is something special when God brings revelation to our lives about matters of His word. It’s one thing to hear it preached/taught and believe it because it’s the Word, but when that Word comes alive in your spirit and God peels back the layers so that you see more clearly the hows and whys of a principle, it is so much more meaningful.

There’s nothing that can take the place of our personal relationship with the Lord.

  21. 15 “But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him”

We can get caught up in life, with the responsibilities, jobs, and never-ending list of to dos. We can loose sight of what exactly God has called each of us for. However, as this scripture puts it…”even before I was born, God chose me.”

Regardless, of the world around us, we each have a purpose. We each have the opportunity to live that will please Him.

The key to knowing what that is, is by knowing who He is. Spend time with the Lord in prayer and reading. Learn who Jesus is, and watch what will unfold in your life.

  22. 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Apparently the church at Had experienced a falling away and they were following another teaching. We must be sure the teaching we receive is if the Bible not of man

  23. 21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;
22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:
23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
24 And they glorified God in me.

We must glorify God In all circumstances and be faithful so that his light will shine upon us.

  24. Galatians 1

Let me be blunt: If one of us —-even if an angel from heaven! —were to preach something other than what we preached originally, let him be cursed. I said it once; I’ll say it again: If anyone, regardless of reputation or credentials, preaches something other than what you received originally, let him be cursed.

Keep preaching the Message directly from Jesus Christ with Joy to every person, Be Bold in the Holy Ghost

  25. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Our purpose is to serve Christ, not please men. We may be criticized, judged, persecuted, but it’s all to the glory of God!

  26. The Living bible
    vs-4
He died for our sins just as God our Father planned, and rescued us from evil world in which we live.
    vs-6
I am amazed that you are turning away so soon from God who, in his love and mercy, invited you to share the eternal life gives through Christ, you are already following a different way to heaven, which really doesn’t go to heaven at all.

Turning away from the Truth (church) is a very dangerous way of Life. Back Slideing is the worse thing living on earth you can do.
Let me use when you first came to church and you have a history of being a Drug Addict or Alcoholic. Your there and filled with the Holy Ghost and or in church long enough to have to have understanding of being a Apostolic.

You end up back Slideing the first thing you are going to be the most miserable person in the world. You will resort to going back to your Drug of Choice Drugs or Alcohol. The reason people keep using is it puts them out of there miserable state of mind.
Now imagine!! You are back slid and this is the most miserable and depressed you have ever been. In most cases you or going to drink more and use more you haver ever used. Death or totally being out of mind is the reality of what (in most cases) is your future. Praise God for the people make it back in church.

  27. ‘For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: and profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: ‘

    Galatians 1:13-16

The testimony of Paul is such an inspiration to those who are discouraged by what they’ve done in the past. Its very evident that God can use even those that persecuted the church at one point. We are saved by the grace of God and called by name in our mothers womb. You whoever you are reading this today know that you too are called by name and Jesus believes in you and i believe in you. You have a testimony GO SHARE IT TODAY

  28. 23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed
    ********************
Paul had a great testimony. There are a lot of people of today who has wonderful testimonies of how God brought them out of the worst kind of sins and brought them to be saved by His grace. We can look back on our past and think ,well I wasn’t that bad, I didn’t do what he/she did. But Sin is Sin. great or small, it is sin. All need to repent and be saved. When we tell of how God saved us and we give Him all the glory, someone might be touched by our testimony and think if you can be saved for what you have done then I too should be able. You never know what a person has gone through or may even be going through now. Take a chance and save a life. Jesus saved me and you and He will give His grace to all who confess and ask.
Thank you Jesus for saving me and filling me with your Holy Spirit.

  29. they only kept hearing, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the [good news of the] faith which he once was trying to destroy.” And they were glorifying God [as the Author and Source of what had taken place and all that had been accomplished] in me.
    Galatians 1:23‭-‬24

GOD is the only one that can transform a man. He can take him I’m the middle of the road just as he is and turn his life around to serve him. No one is too far gone that God cannot use.

  30. 23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

This is talking about how the faith was destroyed but we can restore the faith by going to church and praying also getting the Holy Ghost

  31. 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ

Jesus revealed to Paul the same gospel that Peter preached. People must be truth seekers and must seek God for truth. We wonder why people can’t see the truth. It comes by revelation. We witness to people and pray that God will reveal the truth to them. It seems that people are getting the revelation of Jesus name baptism and are looking for churches to baptize them. In other countries, the Southern Baptist church is allowing people to receive the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues because that is what the people want. A great revelation of truth is on its way. Lord let us be a part of it.

  32. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Many don’t know about the gospel and we have to be the ones who help share it out. We must try everything in our ability to make sure everyone we know had the chance of making it to heaven!!!

  33. Greater
The Ministry Of The Holy Ghost

    v24
There is end of the glory of the ministry of The Holy Ghost.

  34. Galatians 1

10 Do I now persuade men or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be a servant of God.

Our God is a jealous God. We should serve Jesus, not man. Seek and ye shall find. So many people do all they can to try to impress man, not God. Read the Bible! Serve God!
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  35. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

We must continue to build up our faith, by getting His Word in us. That is how we will know if someone is changing His Word.

  36. 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

God’s word should not be added to or taken away. The way God wrote it is the way it was meant to be. His word was law in the Bible days and his word is law now.

  37. “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s important that we are rooted in Jesus. When we know and have read for ourselves who we are and whose we are we can stand on the Word. To be anchored in Jesus is to not be moved by the winds and waves that may come out way

  38. “Am I now trying to win the favor and approval of men, or of God? Or am I seeking to please someone? If I were still trying to be popular with men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This is a question we should ask ourselves daily. Is what we are doing pleasing god or man. We should not be trying to please man because man can’t save our souls. God is the one who we will stand before one day and hear well done or depart from me. Our goal while here on earth is to please the lord and follow after what his word says and lead others to Christ. We can’t lead others if we are steady trying to fit in.

  39. 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

What makes you happy, what pleases Him?? What are you doing to please him?

  40. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

No one should be able to persuade us to any other “gospel” the word of the Lord shall be my armor and should be buried down deep in my soul. I will not be persuaded because the word of God is my strength.

  41. 1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

Who GOD appoints or anoints is something man cannot take away!!! GOD IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN GIVE AND TAKE AWAY!!!

  42. Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went away into Arabia, and later I returned to the city of Damascus. Then three years later I went to Jerusalem to get to know Peter, and I stayed with him for fifteen days.
    Galatians 1:17‭-‬18 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/gal.1.17-18.NLT

It speaks very briefly of Paul going to Arabia after Damascus after his conversion. It doesn’t specify where in Arabia.
We all need time after coming to Jesus to define our new life. For some of us we were so radically opposite of what God calls us to be that we have to take time to make sense of our new found faith. Paul was not any different. The people that esteemed his so highly now wanted to kill him.

I love that after this time of solitude and reflection he went to Jerusalem and spent time with Peter, the Rock of the Church, so that he may glean from him
We too can follow this pattern. Our love for God ignites us, our faith in God establishes us,but it’s our obedience to God that secures us fully. It takes a new believer several years to get fully established in the church. We need to give ourselves Grace if we’re not “getting it” right off the bat. And we need to practice patience for those newer in church that continue to need that living hand of guidance. Hallelujah!

  43. 1 Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—

It doesn’t come from MAN but by Christ.

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. John 3:27
