Colossians 4

Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord:

Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;

With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here.

10 Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister’s son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)

11 And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.

12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.

15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.

16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

“ There is no richer word than the word ‘ grace ‘ for it carries in it all of God’s love as seen in the gift of His son for us “ AMEN.

  2. 12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Prayer is powerful and it is more so when it is done fervently. One the greatest works that can be done for the body of believers is to hold them up in prayer.

  3. Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

    2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

  4. Here is my greeting in my own handwriting—Paul. Remember my chains. May God’s grace be with you.
    Colossians 4:18

Something that some people don’t realize is not just that Paul started these churches and kept in contact with them but as their Bishop he was writing letters to them according to whatever they were dealing with. Such as in Gataitians whenever He wrote About angels or even himself preaching any other gospel being occurred it was because shortly after he had left someone came along and preached to them a different gospel that did not lineup with what he preached to them. The fact that he wrote this letter with his own hands shows you the connection that he had with them, because because later on in Paul’s career he had a physical element in which he used one of his disciples to write for him While he dictated what they wrote. Paul took time out to write to the Collasians because of his relationship

  5. 6. When you speak the word, speak it gracefully (as if seasoned with salt), so you will know how to respond to everyone rightly. Voice

It’s not only what you say that counts – how you say it matters, as that usually determines if your message is received or not.

    Proverbs 15:
    1. A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

    2. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. KJV

  6. Verses 10-11 MSG “Aristarchus, who is in jail here with me, sends greetings; also Mark, cousin of Barnabas (you received a letter regarding him; if he shows up, welcome him); and also Jesus, the one they call Justus. These are the only ones left from the old crowd who have stuck with me in working for God’s kingdom. Don’t think they haven’t been a big help!” Just like these men stuck with Paul, we too must do the best job we can in what the Master has given us. Be GREATER by continuing to fulfill the work for God’s kingdom.

  7. 12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

    Amen!
    Hallelujah!
    Thank You Jesus!

  8. Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

Being in communion with God is wonderful. He is worthy to be thanked and praised everyday for all has done and is doing. Thank you God. You are wothy of it all.

  9. Colossians 4:5,6 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redoing the time.Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

We have to make the most of every opportunity to evangelize our City. Our responsibilities are evangelize in these evil days.
Be wise in our conduct, be a witness.

Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefor wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Watch carefully how you live, be a witness to the lost.

    Greater Evangelism

  10. As I read this I see a responsible leader “Paul” making sure that everyone knew who he is sending, who speaks on his behalf, and who is with him. He wants to make sure you don’t follow any false teaching or leaders. Making sure that you know that time is limited. Almost sounding like a final goodbye.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Do not waste your time, make it count for what it’s most important for what you spend your time that’s where your treasures are. Time is so precious and it goes by so very fast. I remember the first time I went to POFW and Cariana was seating in front of me, sweet baby girl, smiling and playing to touch my hand, and Selah I held her as a new born as I worked the nursery, now great beautiful young ladies in Christ Praising God every morning in service. Time is a blink and gone. BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERY SECOND FOR JESUS CHRIST!!!

  11. Epaphras, a servant of Christ Jesus from your city, greets you. He always prays intensely for you. He prays that you will continue to be mature and completely convinced of everything that God wants. I assure you that he works hard for you and the people in Laodicea and Hierapolis.
    Colossians 4:12‭-‬13 GW

    https://bible.com/bible/70/col.4.12-13.GW

We should have burdens for one another! Praying earnestly for one another.
I share in my drug classes God invited me to teach that it was Christ that saved and delivered me but it was THIS BODY OF BELIEVERS that kept me that way. Our church family is a safety net!! We need each other!! I love you all!! Praying for you in Jesus Name!!!

  12. “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Let your speech be alway with grace seasoned with salt…

Not sometimes, maybe when I’m in front of a brother or sister in Christ. But alway. Deception is all around us. We as Christians need to continually be a light that shines in a darkened world. How are we to win them over by a negative Nancy, or being a brother or sister that is the biggest #411 of the church?
Jesus Christ isn’t a temporary savior, we shouldn’t be a temporary Christian.

  13. Colossians 4: 2
Continue in prayer , and watch in the same with Thanksgiving.
God gives wisdom, knowledge, and guidance in his Word everyday.
Wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom, and with all thy getting get understanding.
Greater Knowledge and Greater Wisdom. Amen

  14. “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:2-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God’s will for us is to be thankful. Then our praying ought to be specific. Too often we pray in general and say “Lord, bless my family!” How much better it would be to pray for their specific needs. As we study the Word and pray we know God’s will and then boldly ask Him to do that which He wants to do for us.

  15. Colossians 4:2-6 & 12 (TLB)
    2) Don’t be weary in PRAYER; keep at It; watch for God’s answers, and remember to be thankful when they come.
    3) Don’t forget to PRAY for us too, that God will give us many chances to PREACH The GOOD NEWS Of CHRIST for which I am here in jail.
    4) PRAY that I will be Bold enough to Tell It Freely and Fully and make It Plain, as, of course, I should.
    5) Make The Most Of YOUR CHANCES To Tell Others The GOOD NEWS. Be wise in all your contacts with them.
    6) Let your conversation be Gracious as well as Sensible, for then you will have the Right Answers for everyone.

    12) Epaphras, from your city, a servant of CHRIST JESUS, sends you his love. He is ALWAYS EARNESTLY PRAYING for you, asking God to make you Strong and Perfect and to help you Know His Will in everything you do.

These scriptures caught my attention because this is what our life in CHRIST and the POFW CHURCH should be all about — PRAYING, PREACHING, and WITNESSING.

ALWAYS EARNESTLY PRAY for yourself, for Pastor and the Ministers that they would have Many Chances to PREACH The GOOD NEWS with Boldness and Tell It Freely and Fully and Plainly, and for every Saint and every New Believer to be Strong and Perfect and that they may Know The Will Of God in everything they do.
BE A WITNESS. Make The Most Of EVERY CHANCE we get to Tell Others the GOOD NEWS.

    GREATER PRAYER!
    GREATER PREACHING!
    GREATER WITNESSING!

  16. I love POFW live Jesus give Jesus 2 Greater! in bonds:

4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Your actions and your speech are essential in being successful in sharing the gospel. God is great and greatly to be praised!

  17. The Living Bible
    vs-5-6
Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good News. Be wise in all your contacts with them. Let your conversation be gracious as well as sensible, for then you will have the right answer for everyone.

Opportunities come for Christians to witness when they relate to others with tact and sensitivity. Don’t antagonize
non-Christians and blame them for failing to accept the Gospel. Christians aren’t to be dull folks, or overweening and boring. Everything about the believer should be as attractive as possible and so open up opportunities to answer questions about Christian faith.

When you’re ready to witness notice something about the person you can open with. Example: I like witnessing in Wall-mart. Number 1 the store is close to the Church most likely the person lives in the area which is close to the Church. I was observing a Lady in wall mart and she had three children having off the shopping 🛒 cart. So my approach was telling her we have grey Sunday School for her kids and if they need a ride the bus can pick them up also inviting her to church. I believe opening with a line that will catch there attention. Offer to pick them up the first time they might be more comfortable that way. Let them know Bible Studies are always available.
    Always be (Up Beat)
Walk up excited 😆 because now days you don’t come a cross to many people that are excited. Be the person that’s different than most people. Grab there attention. And having the (Gift on Gab) very much helps.

Thank You Jesus I Want To Be A Soul
    Winner.

  18. ‘Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. ‘

    Colossians 4:4-6
I make effort of this every day, its easy to catch yourself laughing at the co workers carnal joke. What are you bringing up in conversation that would make him/her comfortable enough to share the carnality with you. When we speak and proclaim Jesus light is brought into darkness, demons tremble, wickedness scatters. We speak Jesus in the streets, on the job, on the course, in the store, and in the restaurant. ask the Lord to make you more aware of what you say and do today so that we may be Holy and our speech will be about HIM!

  19. 5-6 AMP “Conduct yourself with wisdom in your interactions with outsiders (non-believers), make the most of each opportunity [treating it as something precious]. Let your speech at all times be gracious and pleasant, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer each one [who questions you].”
    ‭‭
Lead a Christ centered life. Take advantage of every opportunity to love and serve in JESUS name. Make the most of your time on earth.
‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:15‬ ‭AMP ”Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people],”
    ‭‭

  20. 12 Ephedra who is one of you a servant of Christ
saluteth you always laboring fervently for you in prayers
that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
    —-
what a great example of great people.
here is another one praying not just for himself but for the sake of others…
👉🏼that the people of God may stand perfect and complete in His will.
    hallelujah 🙌
    -walking in faith
    -walking with confidence

  21. GREATER
    OUTREACH

5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

The apostle even in his imprisoned personal condition was concerned, burdened and moved by the responsibilty of those that were lost.

Last Friday our Prayer Focus was to CONNECT OUT

    Friday: Connect Out
A fresh Burden for Outreach & the Region of Fort Worth.

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Take a moment and pray the below prayer points.

Father we pray for a mighty outpouring of Your Spirit in the Region of Fort Worth and around the world.
Cause many people to receive the revelation of one God and repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost.
We pray for apostolic boldness, authority, and anointing to preach and teach the gospel to every nation.

This is a summary of the letter that Paul writes to the CHURCH. To walk in wisdom to those outside the CHURCH with an urgency.

    TLB
5 Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good News. Be wise in all your contacts with them.

    MSG
5-6 Use your heads as you live and work among outsiders. Don’t miss a trick. Make the most of every opportunity. Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out.

    GNT
5 Be wise in the way you act toward those who are not believers, making good use of every opportunity you have.

While we celebrate the VICTORIES and FAVOR of Friend Day #POFWFD22 let us remember our daily responsibility to those that are outside of the FAITH to LIVE and GIVE JESUS to them. There are still more lost or without the church than are in the CHURCH.

JESUS help us to REACH OUT to Fort Worth and surrounding areas in JESUS Name.

  22. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.
    Colossians 4:5‭-‬6 NLT

Outreach. Be an example and don’t miss a chance to reach the stranger next to you. Be kind and accepting so people will feel welcomed and open to hearing what you share of Jesus. Most people block you out because they expect a certain attitude or pressure to come from someone sharing the gospel. Truthfully, it shouldn’t be that way; here we are told to speak with grace and a grain of salt. Speak so they understand, speak so they are not condemned or judged, speak so they are attracted to the light of Jesus!!

  23. 3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Paul lays down three important principles for showing or sharing the gospel. First, he says we should talk to God before we talk to others. Second, he says we should walk the walk before we talk the talk. Third, he says we should spread the word before our lips fall forever silent. We must take the good news to all that will listen.

  24. The Kingdom of Heaven is GREATER
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Wow, this is good advice. Whether we’re eating tacos, or eating pizza, we must remember salt makes it better. The salt enhances the flavor of what you are eating and Paul uses this example to remind us to not be so bland and mean, but to be “seasoned” with good and encouraging speach.

  25. 5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

We represent the Lord and our speech should reflect Him. We must be aware in conversations that someone could be unsaved and need this truth we have. Use wisdom so you can win a soul in the long run.

  26. 17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

Are we fulfilling what God has called us to do? Seeking first the Kingdom of God not only brings fulfillment to what God has called us to do, but His promise is that He will add “all the other things” as well. You can’t get better than that.

  27. 2 “Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.”

Theres many areas in our lives that we can be persistent, committed, and focused on. However, if we are not careful we can loose sight of what is priority of our commitments. Prayer and daily bible reading, is and will always be a crucial commitment in our lives.

  28. 3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Paul asks the Colossians to pray for him. Being in prison made it more difficult for him to preach the gospel. But apparently people would come to see him, and he would witness to them. Also, he would write letters to the Churches from prison.

  29. 1 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
    ****************
We have a master in heaven; Be a good friend as we have a friend in heaven; Be a good father (mother) as we have a father in heaven; Serve others as Jesus served; we can’t be all things to everyone but we can be one thing to someone; There is only one Savior, whom we can tell others about that in turn they can be saved. We are to do what we can, strive to be like Jesus, show His light and His love.
    *******
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with🧂 salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
    *******
We are the 🧂salt of the earth for we are here to give glory to God so others will want what we have. Lets pass the🧂 salt across the table so others can taste the goodness that only living for Jesus can give. AMEN & amen.

  30. I learned that the masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven, then aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister’s son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him. Then the salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

  31. 2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation.” Matthew 26:41

Keeping these two together will keep us all out of trouble. Watching without praying is like getting a diagnosis without a prescription.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Often the problem is not the lack of a way out but the refusal to “watch” and be alert when the way is made. Also the lack of desire to take the way out

  32. 5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Wisdom should be used daily. Do not neglect wisdom. It will keep and guide you through all things. Let wisdom be your strength.

  33. 8 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;

We are all little puzzle pieces in His kingdom! We are all connect and have a purpose! I pray tonight that we are all fufilling our purposes in His kingdom!

  34. Colossians 4

13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

    Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.
1:8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ

Through God all things are possible. He gives us wisdom and understanding. We have redemption through his blood.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  35. “And say to Archippus, “Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you.””
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Whatever ministry god has called you to do in the church you should do it to the east of your ability. He has placed us in certain ministries for a reason. There is a purpose. Every ministry in his kingdom matters. Continue to praise and honor his name and do things in excellence always glorifying him.

  36. 4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Do we really pay attention to how or what we say?? We would be wise to remember that others are paying close attention to every word we speak…

  37. 16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

  38. 6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Our words can mean so very much. They can make or break. So as the scripture says, speak with grace and season with salt. Does what you have to say taste good and does it have relevance?

  39. 2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

I know we have all prayed for things that we believed were going to happen right away and we are still praying for them. We need to continue praying and believing with thanksgiving. Knowing that God has a perfect time on which to fulfill the promise. Thank you Jesus for your promises, let us never give up on them. It is going to come to pass!

  40. “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Waking in wisdom. Prayed up! Daily. Asking seeking the Lord everyday. Chasing the will of God in your life and in every situation you have going on. Helps you with the difficult random questions that get asked by total strangers.

Being in the Holy Ghost every moment of every day allows you and gives you the wisdom to answer all men.

Jesus. I want to walk and talk with you everyday if my life. That I may know you deeper and have a more full understanding of your ways. That I way defined truth with all my heart and all the scriptures. That I may lead others to your salvation. Give me your words to speak to your people.

  41. 6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

The tongue is one of the hardest things to control. Sometimes we may say it has a mind of its own. The best way to control what and how we say it, is to loose control and surrender ours to God and be filled with the Holy Ghost. That way we are giving control to God that we may speak as we should.
