Psalm Chapter 27

Pray Today

Acts 5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Fort Worth, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

  1. ‭Psalms 27:8, 10, 13 NLT‬
[8] My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
[10] Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.
[13] Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.

Listen for the voice of God. Keep your mind and heart open to the still small voice of our father. God wants a relationship with us. He wants us to talk to him everyday. God loves us. God’s love is never ending. God is good all the time.

  2. Verses 13-14 MSG “I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.” Giving up is NOT an option!
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 CEV says “We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don’t know what to do, we never give up.  In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again.” ReVIVE and ReMAIN with HIGH EXPECTANCY.

  3. 1-2 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.”
    ‭‭
When the Lord is our refuge and strength, our guiding light and salvation, we have no reason to fear because HE will keep us safe.

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭54‬:‭17‬ ‭“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.”
    ‭‭

  4. vs-10

When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

    Life’s strongest bond.

The bond that God establishes with us in Christ is far stronger than the bond that holds parents and child together.

  5. Psalm 27: 13-14 [ amp] [ What ,what would have become of me] had I not believe to see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!

14] Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage, and let your heart be stout and enduring Yes, wait and hope for and expect the Lord.

Don’t give up wait upon the Lord, He is my refuge and my strength, and my guiding light, there is no reason to fear, he will keep us safe.

One can wait on the Lord,be a good courage, strengthen in heart, and assured that the Lord will undertake in his behalf.

If God be before us,than who can be against us!

    Hallelujah Praise the Lord!

  6. 1The LORD is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?

With God on our side, there is no fear, no hopelessness, or lack of faith. But there should be joy, peace, love and comfort. The more one serves God the more faith one has.

  7. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

One of life’s biggest challenges when living for the Lord is waiting on him. Because our human nature wants to resolve whatever problem or conflict we have, right now. We don’t generally want to wait for things to be okay, we want them to be okay at that moment. But God knows the timing and the strength that it takes and for all things to fall into place for that piece to come. SO waiting on the Lord is truly trusting in the Lord

  8. “Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ ‭

It is in the waiting where our faith can be challenging. But let us not fear, and remember the times GOD has seen us through every trial and has given us the victory. The faith to know He has brought us out over and over again.  Why? Because we are dependent on His strength and not on our own.

“but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭31‬ ‭

  9. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

He is our shield and buckler and will be with us through all the trials of life. When we go out, and ask Him to go before us, we can be confident that he will make the way for us.

  10. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

wow, how about the last verse of the Psalm? How does it fit into our interpretation? Well, I like to think that this verse is His parting word to each of us a little personal advice from heaven based on the Lord’s own experience in trusting in Him.

  11. Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

The Lord is our helper even when it seems like He is not responding. When our friends and family are not available, it is Jesus that is involved.

    DONT FAINT (QUIT)

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

There are seasons of life that can feel hopeless, lonely and desperate. Seasons of this nature that are prolonged can lead us to the valley of (QUIT) a temptation to give up.

BUT what do we give up on? Give up on the LORD? Give up on the promises of GOD? Give up on the hope of eternal peace with GOD?

    NO!

I will WAIT on the LORD, be of GOOD Courage, as I wait HE will strengthen my heart. When I come to the brink of FAINT RIVER in the Valley of QUIT. I choose to BELIEVE. BELIEVE that I WILL see the goodness of the LORD.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

I must BELIEVE because to Believe NOT is to dam, stop or curse myself in the land of faint. When I BELIEVE then I am delivered from the Valley of FAINT. (QUIT)

    Here is proof.

When Zacharias doubted, he was damned or shut up.

Luke 1:18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
Luke 1:20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Dont FAINT in your Famine. Have FAITH in your FAMINE.

“And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord”

The key in this verse is found in praising the Lord regardless if the enemy has all forces turned against you or not. This trait of David is a trait we all need to learn in life. Praise God in the good, bad, and ugly. Praise ye the Lord!

  14. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Fear is the opposite of Faith. You cannot walk in Fear and speak Faith at the same time. When our confidence is in the Lord the only fear that we should possess is a Godly reverence fear towards God and His ways.

    Proverbs 31:30

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

  15. Psalms 27:5-6 (KJV), “5) For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. 6) And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.”

The best place I can be in my “time of trouble” is in the Secret Of His Tabernacle – In Church. It’s there that I will be Set Up (Stand) Upon The ROCK – CHRIST JESUS, and when I Stand Upon The ROCK – CHRIST JESUS, I Will Be Lifted Up Above Mine Enemies! I AM MORE THAN A CONQUEROR THROUGH HIM! Therefore, I Will Offer Sacrifices Of JOY, I Will SING, I Will SING PRAISES Unto The LORD – The ROCK – CHRIST JESUS, who is Worthy Of ALL My PRAISE!!

  16. 1The LORD is my light and my salvation—

    whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life—

    whom shall I dread?

2When the wicked came upon me to devour my flesh,

my enemies and foes stumbled and fell.

3Though an army encamps around me,

    my heart will not fear;

though a war breaks out against me,

    I will keep my trust.

    4One thing I have asked of the LORD;

    this is what I desire:

to dwell in the house of the LORD

all the days of my life,

to gaze on the beauty of the LORD

and seek Him in His temple.

5For in the day of trouble

    He will hide me in His shelter;

    He will conceal me under the cover of His tent;

He will set me high upon a rock.

6Then my head will be held high

    above my enemies around me.

    At His tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy;

I will sing and make music to the LORD.

    • A declaration of who the Lord is, has done and confident of what he will do.

One thing I’ve learned in my years is that each chapter of life is temporary. Everything we are going through, is only temporary. Happiness is only dependent on your circumstances at the time, when things are going well, your health is well, finances are abundant and you’re in a good relationship. But even through the hard times you can have Joy, through all the trials and tribulations of life, in chapters that are trying and discouraging, joy comes from the Spirit of the Lord within us. Don’t be discouraged when things are disrupted and it seems to be endless, you don’t feel God, and that He’s not listening to your prayers, remember that this is only temporary, that God is always working for your good. There will be other times of happiness and more trials to go through, but God is always with you, carrying you through it all. Joy and Peace comes from the Lord.

  18. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

give it to God and he shall guide you n protect those who seek him
