Psalm 29

1 Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lordglory and strength.

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lordbreaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.

The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lordshaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

10 The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

  1. v2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness .

Holiness and love cannot be separated . GOD knows if we truly love HIM and each other wholeheartedly. ( 1 Peter 1:22 )
    It all starts with obedience.
    Holiness is beautiful !

v9″ And in his temple all cry, GLORY!”

Sounds like a call to worship. Let the redeemed ones worship HIM in spirit and in truth. We were created to make HIS praise glorious. Let’s keep on fulling our purpose for living both NOW and in heaven.

    DUE GLORY

2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Have you ever had a bill that’s due? It’s something that’s owed. The Lord has given himself as a sacrifice and therefore rendered unto us a great service. WE OWE THE LORD. Lets not rob God, but give unto him that which is due.

  4. It is better to Give than to receive… Lets live Christmas all year around.

1 Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Lord keep us away from the “give me, give me” kind of mentality and open our eyes to the great Blessing that is to GIVE to You, to Your Kingdom, to Your Work, to Your People… To Give You Glory, Honor, and Praise. To Give of our work, talents, and time. To watch You be Glorified in ALL we do. Humble us to be servants like You, to the lost, to the hurt, to the sick, to the orphan, and to the widows. Help us understand that nothing we do can compare to what YOU give us. We can’t never out give GOD for HE is good all the time and all the time HE is good.

  5. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

There is not to hard for The Lord. He is the all mighty, all powerful and full of majesty.

  6. The voice of the Lord is majestic thunderous can divide waters split the flames build up or tear down nations, but still there is to many times in our lives that we don’t hear his voice because we let live get in the way. Lord let me hear thy voice always.

  7. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

We, I, must remember that it is the still small voice that I listen for, not the big booming sound from the world around me. With the small voice, all of heaven and earth were created. With the small voice the earth was formed, and all the plants and animals on it. With that same small voice He leads us today.

  8. 5 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lordbreaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

How POWERFUL!!! THE voice of the LORD!!!
Thank You JESUS!!! ………… For everything….. ….. Everything comes through YOUR VOICE, EVERY BLESSING, NOTHING MOVES WITHOUT YOU !!! I AM NOTHING AND CAN DO NOTHING WITHOUT YOUR VOICE…… I love you JESUS!!! Thank you DADDY …… No words can explain ……

Te AMO mi REY….. gracias mil gracias a TI AGRADESCO …….me quedo sin palabras. no encuentro las palabras Suficientes bellas para explicar lo mucho que TE amo mi REY. YOU ARE MY FIRST LOVE!!!

  9. His voice is powerful!

His voice IS powerful but some can’t hear it because they have not given ear to him. When I struggle to hear the voice of God it tells me that I need to examine myself and let him examine me. He is gracious enough to speak again but he is not obligated to repeat himself. I want to be continually ready when he speaks. So consecrate me today O Lord that I may never loose ear to what you are speaking to me.

  10. SPEAK LORD

4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

Here is the reason for us to continually ask the LORD GOD of Glory (Jesus) to speak into our situation, circumstance, affliction, famine or problem.

Again the Word of GOD affirms the authority of GOD. Notice that each of the illustrations of the power of the voice of GOD is over HIS creation; the waters, cedars, flames, wilderness, etc. Everything responds to HIS voice.

None of the created illustrations have a choice to respond except for man.

Here is why the Psalmist begins this chapter by challenging us the hearers to: 1 Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lordglory and strength. 2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Voice and Presentation of worship are both important to GOD. It is important how we worship HIM because it influences how he will respond to us.

  11. This chapter illustrates exaltation. David exalted God. One should desire to exalt and profess that Jesus is Lord; “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  12. 11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

When we feel we can’t go on anymore God will give us strength. We (I) need to learn to lean on The Lord for his strength when my strength is gone. Thankful for a caring and loving God and that God has my back.

  13. The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. (Psalm 29:11 AMP)

Thankful to be a Princess of the King of kings! This verse states he “will give” not might or maybe or if He will give strength and peace to his people. Glory to God!

  14. Lebanon and Sirion are mountains, the same mountain in fact. Verse 6 states: “He maketh them also to leap like a calf.” Think about that a moment. How many have seen young calves play? They run, jump, twist, buck and play for hours. Now imagine for a moment a mountain jumping, bouncing and rolling around. Mt Hermon (Lebanon and Sirion) is over 9,000 ft and is the highest peak in Syria. Can you imagine, can you picture in your mind that monster jumping and bumping around? Eph 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…” Wow, what an awesome God we server!!

  15. 11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

There is NO LIMITS to what God can do! He is an all powerful God!

  16. Verses 10-11 MSG read “Above the floodwaters is God’s throne from which his power flows, from which he rules the world. God makes his people strong. God gives his people peace.” If you are ever feeling like your drowning in your situation or problem, reach out and hold onto God for he is ABOVE the floodwaters. God is the only one who can give you the strength and peace in that situation or problem that you are facing.

  17. Throughout history, God has revealed his power through mighty miracles over nature, such as the great flood. He promises to continue to reveal his great power. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to help us with our daily problems. When we feel weak and limited we do not need to despair. All we have to do is call on the name of Jesus. We need to remember that God can give us strength. The power that controls creation and raised the dead is there for us.

  18. PSALMS 29:11 THE LORD WILL GIVE STRENGTH UNTO HIS PEOPLE; THE LORD WILL BLESS HIS PEOPLE WITH PEACE. O LORD thank you for peace and strength. I PRAISE YOU JESUS!!

  19. The voice of the Lord breaketh the ceaders he makes them also skip like a calf . Don’t know about you but I wood like to see that There is nothing that God can’t do so why dout God

  20. 2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness
God didn’t have to do anything that He has done for me, but He did because of love. Therefore I will praise Him and give glory to His name!
11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
Thank you Jesus for the strength and peace!!!

  21. David is edifying the Lord in this Psalms be commemorating all the wonderful things that He has done through the power of the spoken word. Image the power in a word that would break the cedars?

If we could only tap into the using the word in our lives, the power we would possess to break every chain of addiction, sickness etc that we would come in contact with would be phenomenal.

  22. In this scripture, you can see our God reigns and he sitteth upon the floods and sitteth King forever. He strengthens and wll bless his people. Floods…..hmmm….just like the days of Noah. He is still King! He is our strength, and our refuge. We will see his Glory…for we have beheld his glory. He gave us grace for grace, grace and truth Christ gave us.

    “Now”……………………….

  23. 2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness

God I give you Glory!!!I want to be Holy before you!!

  24. 1GIVE unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
I will worship and praise the lord every day because he is worthy to be praised!! He deserves all glory!
11The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
    HALELUJAH! THANK YOU JESUS!

  25. 2 give unto the lord the glory due unto his name;worship the lord in the beuty of holiness.
i love the lord and will worship him till im outta breath and untill the day he comes he desurves to have my all. and that i will do.hes my everything and i will rejoice everyday of my life

  26. A thunderstorm towers above the promise land motivation Davids praise and the realization that its the Lord who is enthroned in nature. God is so great that he is able to strengthen and bless his people

  27. Psalm 29:11 KJV

The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. Glory To GOD!! That I am able to say, that I have the Strength and Peace that the Almighty God has given to me!

  28. 2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

  29. 11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Everything is Amazing about God including His voice and the Wonderful things He has to tell us….and I’m glad He helps us through so many things!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!

  30. So much amazing things about the voice of The Lord and what it can do! This is the same voice that His children know! This brings the power of God even more into perspective and is very humbling. Why is it so easy to doubt when we hear His incredible voice?

  31. 11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

The entire chapter speaks of what God Is doing only the last verse speaks of what he WILL do. I encourage you not to focus solely on what Is going on, but also on what WILL happen.

  32. This chapter tells me that no matter the situation his voice is greater. Even if it seems overwhelming he sits on top of the flood. He always has an answer. The same voice who spoke let there be light speaks into our hearts today!

  33. Verse 2 Is beautiful especially after just leaving leadership meeting and being reminded about the beauty of holiness. the church is the light of the world and the salt of the earth we should not look like everybody else we should not do what everybody else does. We are separated people for God. I love holiness!!

  34. The Lord is worthy of all the praise and glory that we give.

1 Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lordglory and strength.
2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

We should always look for an opportunity to give to the Lord of ourselves. Give of our strength, effort and commitment.

  35. Response To The Voice Of God

4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

It is amazing the sense of contrast here found by the human mind. God is awesome and powerful, high and lifted up, greater than any other… and He still is gentle enough to not destroy us with a single breath of His awesome voice. Instead He uses His amazing strength to strengthen us and give us peace, to lead us carefully and lovingly as our Shepherd.

    John 20:19-22
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Simply His breath was so powerful He could have destroyed us yet He chose instead to use it to give us life. That mighty voice that thunders and shakes the wilderness and breaks trees instead brings forth trees of men:

    Isaiah 61:1-3
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Creation brings Him glory in response to His voice, but there is something special about when we respond to Him out of choice. From the beginning in the garden, He reveals how important it is to Him to receive that relationship of choice. It began with a tree of choice in the garden, whether humans would choose relationship, and ended with a tree of choice on Calvary, where He chose to lay down His life so humanity might choose to be restored in relationship. That life is fulfilled in us when we choose death to self and burial in baptism and resurrection through being filled with the Holy Ghost, called pneuma or the breath of God. Through having Him alive in us, we reveal the *choice* that brings Him glory in response to His breath.

An application of relationship with Him and with other saints, in response to Him:

    1 John 4:7-19
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us.

  36. The voice of the Lord is powerful. Just one word and every plant stands at attention waiting for the next command. When we realize the power that is carried in God’s voice we wouldn’t hesitate to call his name and await a reply.

  37. 11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Made me question some that say ” I’ve lost my strength and I have no peace.” If The Lord gives strength and peace? What are you really saying? I’ve lost my Lord?”!

I have Been guilty of saying this but the scripture talks about Him being the prince of peace and The joy of the Lord is my strength. we must becarful that in the mist of the world we do not wake up and find ourselves without strength and Peace because it maybe telling us we ate further away from God than we should be.

  38. 11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Whatever God has spoken- he has spoken it into existence. And we know that He does speak strength unto us. The Holy Spirit of God in us is strength, love, peace…it’s everything we need.

  39. If we are to hear the voice of the Lord, we must first seek it. Give him time, and he will grant you the blessing and peace will all long for.

  40. 29 1-2 Bravo, God, bravo!
Gods and all angels shout, “Encore!”
    In awe before the glory,
in awe before God’s visible power.
    Stand at attention!
Dress your best to honor him!

David has been through storms and knows that through God all things are possible. He knows God is mighty and powerful. All we have to do is seek him. God gives us the strength and peace if we follow his commands. He will bless us abundantly all we have to do is reach out to him in faith NOW!

  41. The Voice of the Lord…as thunder it resounds thought out this chapter. The voice of the Lord: powerful, shakes, breakes, devides, makes…the voice is power to change a life, to break the chains of bondage, to shake yourself awake, to devide the dark from the light. Shines light into all the dark areas of our life..to make all things new. The voice God is His Word..He is alive and well

  42. “Honor the Lord” is mentioned in this Scripture alone 3 times ..”The voice of the Lord” is mentioned a total of 7 times also. But why? To understand the magnitude of God’s strength, power, name, and splendor of His holiness, which are all things we do not have, but can only posess when God posesses us. Now in order to see the might, strength, power and splendor we must see Him, and we do this my developing a relationship with Him. In doing so we learn to understand where He is (which is everywhere) by hearing His voice, which will always align with His word. The voice of the Lord is powerful, and majestic, when spoken into words (which is a 2-edged sword) becomes audible to the person/people He is speaking to. The voice of the Lord is compared to breaking cedars (the cedars of Lebanon) now Lebanon was well known for its pagan influence and its pagan links in Israels chain (2Ki 14:9) Gods voice responds and strikes with flashes of lightning or judgment (much like what Job encountered with his conversation with God) it shakes the desert (shaking the desert of Kadesh) Kadesh is where the Isrealites stayed after going up the hill against the Amorites even though God wasnt with them in battle, they rebeled anyways. vs 9 the voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forrest bare.” Why? because when we rebel the voice of the Lord is mighty to correct us. It acts as a two edge sword cutting at the disobedient fat that has accumulated from rebellion to His words. Now Gods voice is not always so sharp, in fact their is Scripture to say his voice was still and small, like a whisper. In 1Kings 19 Elijah had fled at Jezebels cruel words, and the Lord comes to speak to him because Jezebel spoke cruel words, false words. Now God steps in to clear things up…11And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 12And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 13And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

God responds to His children and those who are against Himself differently, for Elijah it was a still small voice. The Lord showed Elijah the sound of distruction..in which He was not a part of or in, because God isnt trying to destroy us but teach and prosper us. Elijah held tight to the mantel, the mantel of humility is what he and we need. To humble ourselves before the Lord to hear His voice, to be soley His voice and not the distortion of the enemy. Hearing the Lords voice can be compared with His word for neither will contradict the other. Elijah did not have the written word or Holy Bible then, but we do and we can identify the Lord’s voice over an imposter. Jesus said in John 10:26 “But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30I and my Father are one.”
His words and voice is severe, and this Chapter discribes just that. Know your masters voice little children, do not be led astray.
