Read Proverbs Chapter 5

And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

14 The sower soweth the word.

15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

33 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

  1. 38. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

    39. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Not only did He know the storm was coming, but he brought His pillow, planning to sleep through it! He is never surprised by what comes our way, but He wants to know how we will react to it. He isn’t worried by the storms, He knows He has all power over them. Will we panic, or will we act like we know the Peace-Speaker?

    “I know the Peacespeaker
    I know Him by Name
    I know the Peacespeaker
He controls the winds and waves
When He says, “Peace! Be still!”
    They have to obey
I’m glad I know the Peacespeaker
Yes, I know Him by Name”

  2. iLove to eat the Word

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

In the society that we live in today, its always about rushing about here and there. As Jesus walked the earth, everyday people thronged him and crowded him. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. He got tired and He needed rest. As a people in general, we need to learn to get rest no matter what storm is raging around us. We need to have faith and believe Jesus is on board.

  3. How would you like if Jesus would the storms in your life. “Peace Be Still”……….

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

    It takes faith………

  4. 3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

The sower of the seeds, We can sow seeds everywhere, but that does not mean all seeds will germinate, sprout and bring forth a plant. The ground has to be prepared right for the seed to sprout. Many things can and will hinder the sowing of the seeds. All the seeds are good, but the difference is the ground.
What kind of ground are we? When you come to church what kind of attitude or ground do you bring for the preaching of the Word.
Can the Word fall on good ground?

  5. 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

Everything will be revealed in its sppointed time. The question is are we ready? Are we preparing our hearts to recieve and reproduce the Word? It’s not enough to just recieve it but it must reproduce also. There are lives that need to pick from our trees. We must first make sure we have fruit. Then make sure its not spoiled rotten fruit. But God gives us daily bread that we may daily have fresh fruit for others.

Keep the pesticites (those small foxes that spoil the vine) and animals (the appetite of carnal things and sins) off the tree and feed the harvest.

  6. 14-20
We cannot exscuse our failures to respond to God by claming that a sovereign God should had made us respond. God gives us freedom he exspects us to use it to respond when he speaks.

  7. DONT FEAR THE STORM

Fear is the most terrorizing, paralyzing emotion that man is subject to. We learn form this testimony in the WORD of GOD that regardless of how close JESUS is or how close we are to JESUS, fear can still intimidate and affect even the called of GOD.

JESUS associated fear with the absence of FAITH.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

We are commissioned to exercise our FAITH in GOD when fear arises in our hearts. Each of us have been favored of GOD and Blessed by HIS promises and every has been given a measure of FAITH.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Exercise your FAITH in GOD and IT will become stronger.

  8. 30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

This is the example of what I believe every christians’ life should exhibit. We should allow the seed of the word of God to grow in us, and we should grow up and out in Him, so that those that are hurting and lost, find refuge from the things that we share with them about Him, and we are able to lead them to that relationship with Him that they need.

  9. 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Let us grow our seed in good ground and not just keep it to ourselves but spread it!!! The gospel wasn’t meant to be kept to ourselves but to share it with everybody!!! Somebody shared the word with us so let’s do the same and bring forth fruit! Thank you Jesus for your precocious Word!

  10. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

Just like Jesus spoke to there storm in their time of need. He will speak to our storms that we go through in life. But we must have faith that he will do it. We don’t ever need to stop building our faith up on the word of God!

  11. What fear?!

And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? (‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭40‬ KJV)

Fear has the ability to paralyze you, to keep you bound, to torment your mind, it causes sickness, high blood pressure, anxiety, causes you to become blind(spiritually), shattered dreams, broken marriages, broken relationships, loneliness.

We were not created to fear! All of this is a tool of the enemy, satan himself. For he knows that if we can understand the power that is in the name of Jesus, we can see the sick healed, the dead raised from the dead, the addict free from drugs, marriages put back together, the weak strengthened , mountains removed, and so much more!!!
Activate your faith. Put it into action. Speak the living word of GOD to your circumstances, move out of the way, and see the salvation of The Lord.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ KJV)

  12. 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

With Jesus on your side, you can calm any storm that’s trying to uproot you in your life. For with God, nothing is impossible!

  13. 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

He is a great God. Even in the storms of life.

  14. “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” They were in a panic, until Jesus (God) said, peace. There may come a time when one is also in need, as such one would be wise to build up one’s faith through prayer and the word of God, which will bring peace. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  15. 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

The more we hear and comprehend, the more Jesus is going to entrust us with knowing….

  16. The Greastest Seed

    Genesis 2:15
And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

    Genesis 3:17-19
    17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

    18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Adam was originally set in Eden to tend the seed the Lord planted, but after the fall he was left with having to plant his own seed and deal with weeds. So in our lives we must now choose what seed we will allow to be sown. Just as sin brought a curse on the ground, so will we battle the weeds of sin springing up as we daily must die to the flesh. But of all the seed we could plant in our lives, that of the Kingdom is the greatest. We have many choices in life but none is greater than the sowing of the Kingdom.

  17. Mark 4:31-32 (KJV Strong’s)
” 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: 32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.”

Our faith may start small but when it is put to use it will grow up. God wants us to take steps of faith that will lead to amazing promises.

The tree started as a tiny seed but over time it grew into a tree. Now it is a shelter, a protection, and the field lodge under it.

Faith put to practice can become a 10,000 soul revival! However it all takes one step.

  18. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Storms…sometimes you see the sings of it coming and at others it catches you by surprise.   The thing to point out is that storms are not meant to destroy but rather strengthen your faith and prove your trust in the all powerful God.  We see here the question that Jesus asks his disciples; “why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?”  This are men that had been already walking with Jesus and seen a demonstration of His power.  What Jesus wants us to know is that in the middle of the storm, He is right there with us.  Now knowing that He is the all knowing God, we read how he slept.  Anyone can feel a storm and be waken, but perhaps he purposefully “slept” to see what reaction the disciples did.  Sometimes we may feel as if Jesus is sleeping in the middle of our storm, but He still knows all things and Hr still can do anything and He still has control and perhaps is just watching.  We are given the Word of God to guide us and give us instruction in all matter if life.  Will we trust what it says?  Will we have faith that He is by our side?  He never leaves our side he promised to be with us even to the end of the world, so why should we feel alone in a storm.  If the word of God tells us that that same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead  dwells in us, then we are empowered to speak to the storm in our life in Jesus name.  And or to call on him in time of trouble..  We are never alone in the storm…

  19. 21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

We are the light of the world, let’s not hide it but shine for jesus!

    Matthew 5:16
” Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

  20. Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another,What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him??

The fear must have been a mixtureof reverential awe and real fright—it would be chillingly eerie to witness the instatantaneous dissipation of a violent storm.

  21. Hiding in plaini sight
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

  22. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Torranting winds or raging sea, it doesn’t matter what kind of chaos life tries to throw at you. With Jesus in our hearts we can speak “Peace, be still” and everything comes together. It’s all in faith. Fun how that works….. I love my God!!!

  23. 19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things
Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
We need to marvels at God’s work and brag to other about Gods wonderful works.

  24. 2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

Jesus teaches to all those who will hear him. He wants us to apply them to our lives, just listen and obey. What a mighty God we serve.

  25. A Parable !!! 26. And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27. And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. 30. And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? Matt. 13 : 31 31. It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: 32. But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. 33. And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS !!!! I EXALT YOU JESUS !!!! YOU ARE AWESOME !!!!!! GLORY TO YOUR NAME !!!!!

  26. Understanding the Man Christ Jesus…

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

It has always made me crazy to think that the disciples were right in front of God robed in flesh, talking to him, touching him, and hearing his teaching and they still didnt understand who he was. You would think that they could somehow catch on, but Jesus did more than tell parables he lived a 33 year long parable of a human life. Jesus’ most astonishing parable was his own life hear on earth. He lived in a way that had deep meaning and purpose. He gave us the greatest example of humility. He didnt come right out and say that he was God Almighty but he showed himself to be through his life. If we take no other example given by Jesus it should be that his life give testimony to who he was. Our lives also testify of who we are. Let us make the parable of our lives reveal Jesus as the parable of his life revealed God Almighty.
