Jeremiah Chapter 27

family devotional – week three: vision for the future

Day One: Seeing the Impossible

Historical records are filled with the amazing (and often amusing) words of men whose vision was clouded on some important subjects…

On World Population: “The population of the earth decreases every day, and, if this continues, in another ten centuries the earth will be nothing but a desert.” Montesquieu, 1743

On Anesthesia: “The abolishment of pain in surgery is a chimera. It is absurd to go on seeking it today. Knife and pain are two words in surgery that must forever be associated in the consciousness of the patient. To this compulsory combination we shall have to adjust ourselves.” Dr. Alfred Velpeau, 1839

On Aviation:  “The demonstration that no possible combination of known substances, known forms of machinery, and known forms of force can be united in a practical machine by which man shall fly long distances through the air, seems to the writer as complete as it is possible for the demonstration of any physical fact to be.” Simon Newcomb, astronomer, 1903

On the Atomic Bomb:  “That is the biggest fool thing we have ever done. The bomb will never go off, and I speak as an expert in explosives.” Admiral William Leahy to President Harry Truman, 1945

Though well meaning, these men just didn’t see things in the right way. They looked at the natural world and concluded that certain things were not possible. As we consider their words, let’s be admonished to not look at the spiritual world and conclude that certain things are not possible; for, with God, all things are possible.

Today, pray with your family or a friend about the need to have 20/20 spiritual vision. And pray that in our capital stewardship campaign the entire church family will experience the unifying power of seeing and believing God for something that is beyond what we could ask or think.

Jeremiah 27

1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

Thus saith the Lord to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,

And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;

And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;

I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.

And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the Lord, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:

10 For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.

11 But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the Lord; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.

12 I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.

13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14 Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

15 For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

16 Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the Lord’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

17 Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?

18 But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.

19 For thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city.

20 Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;

21 Yea, thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;

22 They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

50 thoughts on “Jeremiah Chapter 27

  1. 5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

Sometimes God has to remind us that He is God, He created everything, and He can do with it as He pleases.

    Genesis 1:1 KJV
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

  2. 9 Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:

10 For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.

dont listen to everyone that say they are coming in the name . In these last day false prophet are rising up all around. Stay on the straight and narrow and trust in the Lords word. God never changes he is the same yesterday today and always

  3. Who has your ear?

Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are saying to you, ‘You shall not serve the king of Babylon,’ for it is a lie that they are prophesying to you. (Jeremiah 27:14 ESV)

Today there are many false prophets. They are on television, in our radios, in churches, and sometimes in our homes. The world is spiraling down and there is spiritual wickedness in high places. We are fighting a war within our minds. Good and evil forces are continually at work trying to draw us to the selves. Satan wants to destroy us. God wants to save.

Who are you listening to? Which voice has your ear. The voice of light or the voice of darkness. Satan doesn’t need you to about face from God. All he needs is to distract you or pervert your path. All he needs is for you to seek for human ambition. Who are you listening to? Who do you serve. Why do you serve? Do you serve God for himself or for yourself?

It’s a question we must asks ourselves every day. Be careful of the things you hear and watch. It has more of an effect than people realize.

  4. 14 Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

    REALITY

We live in a time when people listen to any prophets that speak even false prophets. Many of these people have a hard time with the simple things in life and just can’t face reality.
We live in real times and need to be ready to face whatever, but know that God can help us. We must have God help us. we can never be what we want to be without God’s help. Many times we come to cross roads and life will deal us some terrible blows. I am not saying accept things we can change. I am saying God help me change the things I have the ability to change and to accept the things I cannot change and the WISDOM to know the difference.
Help me Lord not listen to these false prophets.
Let me listen to the God of heaven and the true prophets!
    Let me accept reality!!!

  5. Which Yoke will you wear

8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the Lord, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

The Bible says a man cannot serve two masters.

    Luke 16:13
13 No servant can serve two masters:for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

We all serve. This is in our nature. We were created to give, worship, praise, exalt, and extol. We were created to honor, and proclaim boldly who we believe.

Yet many choose the yoke of this world. The yoke of sin, bondage, corruption, and death. Jesus said there is a better way.

    Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The service to God is easy, and the weight if responsibility is light. We are told he is right there with us, and he helps us carry the burden. The yoke of sin drags down, and only destroys.

Jesus said “learn of me.” He doesn’t give us something he hasn’t already carried.

    Hebrews 4:15
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Yet his yoke gives rest. The yoke of the world brings stress.

However if we refuse to choose his yoke then he will choose one for us. I would rather have the yoke, and burden from The Lord than the forced servitude to a pagan king.

  6. HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!
18 But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
LET US (POFW) MAKE INTERCESSION FOR OUR JERUSALEM (FORT WORTH)!!! IN JESUS NAME!!! AMEN!!! HALELUJAH !!! THANK YOU JESUS !!!

  7. Yes, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels which [still] remain in the house of the Lord, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem: They will be carried to Babylon and there will they be until the day that I visit them [with My favor], says the Lord. Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place. (Jeremiah 27:21, 22 AMP)

Thank you Jesus for the journey through the wilderness to the blessing. And for your favor and restoration.
God is always up to something!

  8. This takes me back to what Brother David Smith preached one of the times he was here. ” A set up in disguise” Sometimes God has us do things that don’t make since to us but that is where our faith gets tested. He tests our faith because he wants us to be set up to please him. Without faith it is impossible to please God. When a trial or circumstance arises we have to be sure too recognize the set up. When we please God blessings come down. It made no since to go serve the king of Babylon but that was the word of the lord. it made no since to cross the Red Sea on dry land but that was the word of the Lord. It didnt make since that water would spring out of a rock in the middle of a desert but that was the WORD. The bible is full of accounts of God that dont make since to us but who can argue with the blessings that came right after the obedience? The only place in the bible that it is ok to test God is with our tithe and offerings. Gods word says that money answereth all things. So the answer is just an offering or obedient tithe away for someone.

  9. 5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

God made everything and everything happens because he lets it my God has all power the devils know this that’s why he don’t want us to have a relationship with God

  10. 4 And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;

5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

HALLELUJAH!!! Lord you’re mighty!!!!!!! So amazing so awesome so powerful so great God!!!!!!!! Do as you please Lord and I’ll stand by and watch your glory shine.

  11. THE DEITY TO DELEGATE

    4 And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;
5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

There is only ONE GOD and HIS name is JESUS! In mans quest to make life easier and more comfortable. We find repeatedly man seeking man to tell us what we want to hear; about how good things are going to be, about how wrong everyone else is and how correct we are. Too often good people get caught up in this trap and fail to recognize that in seeking a soft word or a pleasant sound we are really setting ourselves up for a fall to deception.

“BATTLE PLANS AND WAR STRATEGIES” would be frowned on in most churches today, because it is not a smooth, soft, seductive message about good things.

Thank you POFW for allowing me to declare the WORD of GOD to us!

The WORD of the LORD will have us to understand today that GOD OWNS EVERYTHING!

DEITY – 1a : the rank or essential nature of a god : divinity
    b capitalized : god 1, supreme being
    2: a god or goddess
3: one exalted or revered as supremely good or powerful

GOD in HIS wisdom is attempting through the Prophet Jeremiah to convey to the people that HE alone made everything and that HE alone directs and delegates EVERYTHING.

Our response is to be one of FAITH and OBEDIENCE. GOD’s will and even HIS WORD will not always make sense to us. These are TESTS of our FAITH and OBEDIENCE.

It makes no sense to me for GOD to bring HIS followers under the rule of Babylon; then again were they really following HIM?

We MUST do more than come to church, we MUST follow, trust and obey every word that proceeds out of the mouth of GOD.

  12. 1-11
When envoys from nations along Babylons southern borders gathered to plot how to regain there freedom Jermeiah wore a wooden yoke and and warrned them to submit to Nebuchadnezzar. God showed his grace to pagan nations as well as his own people in O.T.

  13. Verses 12-14 MSG “Then I repeated this same message to King Zedekiah of Judah. “If you want to live, submit to the yoke of the king of Babylon and his people. Why do you insist on dying—you and your people? Why should you choose war, famine, and disease, which the Lord will bring against every nation that refuses to submit to Babylon’s king? Do not listen to the false prophets who keep telling you, ‘The king of Babylon will not conquer you.’ They are liars.”

Oh how these scriptures parallel to our today. So many are being deceived by this world and are unwilling to submit to anything or anybody. It is almost hard to imagine why someone would choose “death” over “life”; which in reality is what they are doing maybe unknowingly. You must have that close relationship with God in order to discern between the false and the righteous. We must remember that our decisions not only have a result on our life; but, those around us (those we say we love)!

  14. 21 Yea, thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;
22 They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

My thought for this is about being a willing vessel for God.

My parents taught me at a young age to be willing. Willing to do for God, whatever He had in store for my life. Just as Pastor preached Sunday morning, about the widow with the two sons. She barrowed vessels and started pouring the oil. How many of us would be willing to do what she did? Ehen God says it , it’s so. Being only 22 ,I have had many opportunities to be a willing vessel to be used by God. I have also been blessed by those who have been willing to be that willing vessel too. When we are willing ,God blesses.

  15. Sugar Coated Messages

16 Then I spoke to the priests and the people and said, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not listen to your prophets who claim that soon the gold articles taken from my Temple will be returned from Babylon. It is all a lie! 17 Do not listen to them. Surrender to the king of Babylon, and you will live. Why should this whole city be destroyed? 18 If they really are prophets and speak the Lord’s messages, let them pray to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Let them pray that the articles remaining in the Lord’s Temple and in the king’s palace and in the palaces of Jerusalem will not be carried away to Babylon!’

19 “For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has spoken about the pillars in front of the Temple, the great bronze basin called the Sea, the water carts, and all the other ceremonial articles. 20 King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon left them here when he exiled Jehoiachin[b] son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, to Babylon, along with all the other nobles of Judah and Jerusalem. 21 Yes, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says about the precious things still in the Temple and in the palace of Judah’s king: 22 ‘They will all be carried away to Babylon and will stay there until I send for them,’ says the Lord. ‘Then I will bring them back to Jerusalem again.’”

Be aware of sugar coated messages–of preachers who are only preaching what you WANT to hear and not what you NEED to HEAR. By the people of Judah choosing to listen to the false prophets it blinded them to the Lord’s vision and deafened them to his warning that he sent Jeremiah to speak. This seemingly harmless disobedience, lead them into fatal inevitable consequences.

Let’s not be like the people of Judah. Let be a church who listen’s to God even when it is something that we don’t WANT to hear. That we always remember the importance of building a foundation on TRUTH. Let’s be a church that realizes that sometimes God calls us to do things or go through things that aren’t pleasant in order to stretch and grow us. Let us welcome the wilderness, instead of wishing it away. For there is no place in the bible, where people went through the wilderness and came out worse then when they went in. In fact they always came out with abundantly more. Let’s be a church that jumps for joy for we recognize the wilderness is ahead–because that’s when we know God has something GOOD on the other side and we want all he has for us, but we have to WORK, LISTEN and LEARN to get it.

  16. 28: 1-17 The true prophet Jeremiah confronts the false prophet Hananiah.

    22. They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

See 2 Chronicles 36:21 To fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath , to fulfil threescore and ten years.

  17. 18 But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.

Someone made intercession for us, so that we would come to the knowledge of the truth, now it is time for us to intercede for our lost families and the city that God has placed us in!! Let’s take the city of Fort Worth by our intercession to the only God that can save a sinful heart.
If God can use a small pot of oil to save a family from destruction ,then let’s let Him use us to impact those around us with the fire of the Holy Ghost!!!!

“The True Purpose of The False Prophet”

15 For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

The false prophet is truly inspired…he truly hears voices…he truly has an open ear that can tap into the supernatural realm…he speaks what he hears…the only problem is that he hears the voice that is directly opposed to the voice of God.

It appeared that the preachers (or prophets) were preaching faith. “Glory to God, Jehovah is gonna bless Jerusalem…God is going to drive that devil Nebuchadnezzar outta here. We serve Jehovah and we will never serve that pagan king!” It appeared the prophets were speaking faith and Jeremiah was preaching negative… In reality, the opposite was true.

The devil is the voice that inspires the false prophet. The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. The true purpose of the false prophet, whether it sounds like they’re preaching faith or not, is to bring destruction.

  19. 13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14 Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

15 For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

    Why would you die?

It seems that the only person who had a plan was Jeremiah. Surrender! Serve! It was Gods plan, maybe not what anyone wanted to hear but it was an answer to their dilemma. All the other people who were prophesying in Gods name seemed to be preaching faith but they offered no solutions, no suggestions, no options. Just it’s all going to be ok. God will take care of us, we don’t need to do anything. Forget that the actions of the people, by serving other gods and whoring around, got them into this position. Sometimes our actions get us into less than desirable positions in life, we can’t just keep doing those actions and expect God to save us. It’s going to take action on our behalf, we need to make the change to repent and walk the other way, then God can help us. Sometimes the action we need to take is surrender to the consequences just like Jerusalem needed to. Why would anyone choose to continue to serve their own life when it leads to death? Deception. We need to remove any scales from our lives to see the truth. Bondage. We need to break every chain in our lives! Nothing will be able to hold us back! We need to repent from any sin, we need to praise and submit to Gods will.

  20. 4 Give them this message for their masters: ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says:
5 With my great strength and powerful arm I made the earth and all its people and every animal. I can give these things of mine to anyone I choose. (NLT)

    How great is our God!

  21. Where is your obedience and submission

Would you be obedient enough to wear the yoke that God tells you to wear??? Would you be willing to say Yes Lord and place it upon your neck as required by God when He says is for your own good?? How far are you willing to go to be obedient to Jesus?

There is a song we used to sing:

    I will give you all
    I will give you all
If all is what you ask of me
    I will not with hold
and if my sacrifice is less
than giving you my very best
    Help me remember Calvary’s cost
and be willing to say Yes.

Give it all, your freedom, your money, your labor, your life… In some countries that is what is required of you to be able to follow Christ. We are privileged that it has not been required of us, but there will be a day, when it will be illegal here also. ARE YOU WILLING TO SAY YES?…

  22. 18 But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.

  23. Vs.9-10, “Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon. For they prophecy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.”

    False prophets speak lies.

2 Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

2 Peter 2:1-2, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”

    False teachers speak lies.

Be careful who and what you are listening to. Not everyone who calls themselves a christian or a man of God, is. Matt.7:21-23 says, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Oh. Lord, may we always have a heart to know you and an ear to hear the Word of Truth.

  24. 5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.

God has set our leaders in over us, knowing how and what they were going to do, just to build us, and to cause everything to work according to the plans that He has…

  25. In this scripture, it was obviously a yoke thay had to wear to live. A choice had to be made. But, God left them with a promise of restoration in the end. Does this sound familiar, blessed are those that endured to the end. Is one that comes to mind with me.
    “Be blessed”………………

  26. The Lord told them to put on the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar -his servant-and serve him and if they obeyed, they could stay put and till their own lands. What’s so bad about that?

Scripture says the Lord’s yoke his easy and His burden is light compared to what it will be like if we disobey and have to wear the yoke of the enemy. The yoke of this world destroys and the Lord’s yoke brings us under submission. Pride will cause us to reject God’s yoke. We must search our lives to see whose yoke we wear.

  27. 5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

If humanity would never forget who created everything it would be easy to stay in their place.

  28. This chapter illustrates discernment. They were enlightened about false prophets. One must study the word of God (Jesus), so one can recognize the false; “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  29. And command them to say unto their MASTER, Thus saith the Lord of host, the GOD of Isreal; Thus shall ye say unto your MASTER.

  30. NLT 4 Give them this message for their masters: ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: 5 With my great strength and powerful arm I made the earth and all its people and every animal. I can give these things of mine to anyone I choose.

This shows God is under control of all things. If you want blessing, submit, and the blessing will come.

  31. 4 And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;

    Yes Sir!!!

When you first read it this chapter it’s the first very obvious response might be what!!?? He wants them to be servants of the King of Babylon!? It doesn’t make sense at all. However the Lord also reminds the people here that He is the creator of all; man, beast, and the earth. In other words, everything is in my control, and I give and take as I wish. Some times God has us do things we don’t understand, but it might just be a test of faith. Do we really trust Him? Perhaps what seems to be something crazy is really just positioning us for the great blessings and miracles to come. Remember it is the Lord that has the kings hearts in His hands, and turns them whichever way He pleases. May be this is just the test can I trust them to do I command before I empower them with more? SUBMISION IS OBEDIENCE, which in place gives you authority. You wanna be blessed, just answer.. YES SIR!

  32. Simple obedience can get you a long way. Listening and obeying what The Lord has to say, obeying what The Lord has given pastor to say can allow us to get very far in God.
Lord search me to know that I have an obedient spirit.

  33. Jeremiah chapter 27 verse 2 : Thus saith to the lord that i may, make thee bonds and yokes, that i put them upon thy neck. In jesus Name Amen !!!

  34. 5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

  35. 5. I have made the earth, the man and the beasts that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given unto whom seemed meet unto me.

The Lord has saw us fit to purchase land. He will see us fit to pay it off and begin the next phase. Any and all things are possible when my God stretches out his arm.

  36. Yoke-Mates

God at times asks His prophets to do something that is a picture of a future event or judgment to come. Jeremiah is told to wear a yoke (Jer 27:2). A yoke is a wooden frame that joins two cattle or oxen together to work in unison. Jeremiah actually wears a yoke around his neck for an undisclosed period of time, until the false prophet Hananiah removes it from Jeremiah’s neck and breaks it in Jer 27:10. Jeremiah’s yoke symolizes Judah’s inevitable bondage to the Babylonians. The Bible mentions yoke more than 50 times. Most of the Old Testament references describe the oppressive bondage that results from disobeying God (Isa 10:27; Eze 34:27). The New Testament symbolically uses the word to exhort believers not to be “burdened again by a yoke of slavery” to sin (Gal 5:1), not to be “yoked together with unbelievers” (2 Co 6:14) and to bear the light and easy yoke of the Savior (Mt 11:29-30). Numbers can be powerful, but divided they will fall (Amo 3:3). Two can become one (Gen 2:24).And ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ (Matt 18:16). “For the body is not one member, but many.” (1 Cor 12:14). “..if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt 18:19,20).

  37. Therefore hearken not unto the words of the

    14

prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet

    15

they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.
God stands behind his word and rbukes false prophets. I am determined to speak the truth of God’s Word to be a real true preacher.

  38. Be careful who you are listening to.. There is so many false prophesies. I pray that God opens my eyes and I only see the truth!

18 But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.

  39. 6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

Nebuchadnezzar a servant? I amazed at Holy Ghost filled people that are so upset with those in political leadership. The say and do things that sometimes seems contrary to the word of God.

And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: -Daniel 2:21

We should pray that the will of God would be done no matter who is in office.

God is not surprised or worried about those in political office.

  40. Truth

Some people mean well but have an unbiblical mindset about some scriptures. Beware just blindly taking others’ interpretations; we must search the scriptures ourselves and pray.

    Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

    Proverbs 23:23
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

    Proverbs 7:1-4
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. 3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. 4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman

  41. You must be sent

For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you. (Jeremiah 27:15 KJV)

  42. 21 Yea, thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;

22 They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

God is looking for “vessels” and we must be be looking for vessels also. He has sent us to do His will and purpose and that is to introduce people to a relationship with Jesus Christ. We must be a full and running over vessels so that we have something to give to those we come in contact with. There are also broken vessels, vessels that have once been part of the kingdom of God, but somehow have lost their way, developed a flaw, God wants to take those broken vessels, place them back on the potters wheels and repair the brokeness, repair the flaw and make them over so restoration can take place.

We, as the body of Christ, must be on the look out for vessels of any type to bring to the Kingdom of God.

  43. Job said that we should accept the bad as well as the good and have a praise for God in the middle of it. This passage shows us that it may well be worse for us if we do not receive what God is doing in our lives, even if it seems bad. It may be his will for us to suffer for a time, to bring us to a new level of love and respect for him.

  44. Deceiving Mouths- Serpant Tongue

When the pressure in life falls on you deafen your ears to those who have not held their place under the yoke of The Lord that the Man of God carries. Accepting an ear to these falsified words will only lead you to death, distraction, and destruction ( 3 D’s). You can discern who is lead by God by their obedience to the one who carries the yoke. God is not the author of confusion!
