Acts 2

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

  1. So many great things happened here, but what stood out to me was identifying that the Gospel of Christ Jesus was to be made know. By essentially starting from home, where it originated from. God was always reaching out to the Jewish community with a passion and/or compassioned heart. They had to accept him, as both Lord and Christ. This was the biggest struggle that the Jewish community had, with receiving Christ Jesus. It opposed their beliefs, laws, customs, or religion.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

“Essentially, Jesus had to penetrate/change the heart”………………………………….

MORE is displayed in Acts chapter 2 clearly for us all to witness. They continuing daily. (MORE) from house to house (MORE) with gladness and singleness of heart (MORE) Praising GOD (MORE) having favor with all people (MORE) The LORD added to the church daily (MORE).

  3. 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

    16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

When the people heard them speak in the other mans tongues they said these men are drunk. Peter speaking said these are not drunk as you suppose seeing it is only the third hour of the day. Peter did not say they were not drunk, but we’re drunk with new wine. This new wine will not leave you with a hangover or feeling bad about what you did, but will leave you happy! Peter knew this is that! What is this that we call THAT? The Holy Ghost that fell from heaven to these disciples that believed in Jesus and followed him as he taught everyone the right way.

  4. Something else to do.

    Acts 2:1
The Coming of the Holy Spirit
2 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.

While they were waiting for the Holy Spirit for about 7-10 days after Jesus had ascended, they could have been doing something else. This was the last 10 days for the harvest. It is likely that some of them in the room were in agriculture.

There are times when God will test us to reason. We must be certain it is God. If it is we should listen. All the people who left or didn’t stay missed out on a historical event.

  5. 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

We are living in the last days. The world is turning more and more anti-God everyday, as in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. However, there will be a hungry people for God and those that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Sons and daughters will prophesy and see those things come to pass because they prophesy in faith, and an army of believers will rise up…….. I want to be part of that army that stands full and and running over of the Spirit of God!

  6. FIRE TALKER

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

When I first got the Holy Ghost I was scared; you see I have heard others in the church say word in French, Spanish, and even in Portuguese. I could understand what they said. Sometimes I kept it to myself, others I will tell them I understood and tell them what they said. The night came when I could not hold back and I became HIS and He gave me His name, My beloved, and He made sure that the language I spoke was His so I could not understand it. Some mock us and called us Fire talker, Holy Rollers, I WOULD NOT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY. To those who fear and can allow Him to take control all I can say to you is WHEN YOUR BELOVED COMES TO YOU IT IS THE MOST WONDERFUL, LOVING, AND THE MOST REAL MOMENT I HAVE HAD IN MY LIFE.

  7. 32 “God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this. (NLT)

We are all witnesses, we are all called and chosen by Him to declare His truth that multitudes of souls might be saved!

  8. The message in Acts 2 is what this world needs to hear. Too many false teaching are being proclaimed. It’s time that the real truth gets out. It’s not a secret that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. We must stop treating the word of God like it’s some kind of classified file and make it public.

  9. What stuck out to me was that when they were filled in the upper room and began to speak with other tongues, the noise from that was heard from this reach pretty far. It says that when they heard this, the multitude came together. They were amazed and marvelled. They later ask, “what does this mean?”
When we unite together in the power of the Holy Ghost, the multitudes will come together. They will be amazed to hear Glory to God given in their own tongues and they will doubt the life they’ve lived, asking what does this mean? Then we can stand, like Peter, and lead them.

  10. iLove to eat More Word

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Why does there always have to be a mocker in the crowd.

    χλευάζω
    chleuazō
    khlyoo-ad’-zo
From a derivative probably of G5491; to throw out the lip, that is, jeer at: – mock.

So, while some were talking in tongues from Heaven others are mocking with their tongues. While it would be easy to think if I were there that I wouldn’t be the one mocking, the truth of the matter is all of us could be guilty mocking at some time of our lives. The important lesson of life is to be open to the situation and be prepared to receive correction.

  11. 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Laomi Diaz said that when he prays he invoked the same thing this verse says. By the same Spirit that raised Christ from death, what a powerful way to pray. Why? Most of time we are so subtle with how we pray, very routine, and never really remember how mighty and great God really is. How that with just His words he brought forth very thing into existence. If death couldn’t hold you down, your with great victory.

  12. Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them Repent and be Babtized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We all need to have the Holy Ghost and be Babtized to enter into heaven. AMEN

  13. 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Our God is not dead, he is still a miracle working, chain loosing, holy God! And It is up to us to spread his truth to the rest of the world!

  14. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Psalm 77:14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
    Psalm 72:18
Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.
    Psalm 86:10
For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.
    Psalm 106:8
Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known.

  15. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

This is my favorite, and to all that afar off…Jesus has his arms open wide. It doesnt matter what we’ve done or how far away we are.
This book of Acts salvation with power is for everyone ,definantly no discrimination here.

  16. 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Peter preached a powerful message to the devout Jews gathered that day and coupled with the powerful moving of the Holy Ghost, there came a great revival. Prayer preceded this powerful message and move of God. The book of Acts church today must have great prayer to see another outpouring of this magnitude!
    John 14:12 …greater works shall ye do…
We will see the latter day harvest – greater than the former.

  17. Acts 2

The book in the bible where every religion picks and chooses what virse they will believe in but we were not commanded to pick and choose what book and what scripture.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
So when you pick and choose what scripture to believe in then you are picking and choosing what part of God to believe in, when we should believe in all of God!

  18. Acts 2:37 & 41
37, Now when they heard this, they were pricked (to pain sharply or sting) in their hearts, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
41, Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousands souls.

1 Thess. 2:13 says, “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which effecturally worketh also in you that believe.”

When we come together for church services, we need to pray that people will become pricked in their hearts (convicted) and gladly receive the Word of God, not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, so that they might be saved. (Repent, be Baptized in Jesus Name, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.)

  19. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Thank you Jesus that the pilgrim use is to everyone. Everyone that will accept it.

  20. Apostles’ Doctrine
2:42 The apostles’ doctrine was true, not because
an apostle taught it, but because it was consistent with the Scriptures.
A Christian should attempt to understand and believe true doctrine, while rejecting all that disagrees with the Word of God (1 John 4:1).

Be Sure the Spirits Are of God
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

  21. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Mission to reach out those that are lost daily because the coming of The Lord is near. Signs are seen more and more the days progress. Help us Jesus to testify of you because I know all we have to do is be sensitive and you will do the rest 🙂 Reaching Out Daily!!!!!

  22. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬ KJV)

Of the best habits I have developed over the years is the word I revert to in an emergency or time of unexpected happenings. Years ago, several prfanities might have come out of my mouth. I tried to clean things up and be more respectful of my surroundings. Once I dedicated my life to the Lord, I decided there was no other word with as much power as Jesus.

It is a great habit to develope to call on Jesus for all occasions. Whether in times of stress or joy, there is no better choice. Try it, you will like it!

  23. Every Tongue

Jesus know not only the language of our birth but He knows the language of our heart. Every person is created uniquely in their inner person, in how they think and respond and how life’s circumstances mould them. But when Jesus comes to us, He does not expect a one-size-fits-all approach to work for us. He honors the unique way He created each of us and draws us to Him with acknowledgement of our differences. He knows when one person needs a firm voice and another a gentle whisper; He knows when one needs comfort and another provocation. No one is left out from knowing unique, intimate relationship with Him.

    Psalm 139:14-17
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

  24. WINE VS THE HOLY GHOST. …

I AM GLAD TO SERVE AND WORSHIP THE LORD. P eople may think that the way I worship the Lord that I’m crazy or drunk one. But the truth be known…I’m dancing for Jesus and the fire of the Holy Ghost sets me on fire for Him. I don’t brag but I do brag on Jesus and what he has done for me. We all can couch for that. We all have a testimony of what Jesus has done delivered us healed us ect. I want to have the Holy Ghost fire everyday. I love you, Jesus. I burn for You!!!!!!!!.

  25. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” They were together, they were united, and they were all filled with Holy Ghost. Why would one not want to come together (church attendance), why would one not want to be united (praying and seeking God), and why would one not want to be filled with the Holy Ghost (required to enter the Kingdom). Dear God, forgive me and change me so that my actions or lack thereof do not cost another eternity with you; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  26. 35. Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Notice it doesn’t say ‘if’ or ‘possibly’; He will put your enemies under your feet!

  27. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The promise is for everyone. The only requirements, repent-turn away from sin- and be baptized, and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  28. Acts 2:28
    You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.

The Lord has opened up our eyes to a whole different way of living and thinking. He has shown us that no matter the situation that we are in, just to put our faith and trust in Him and we will always be glad because He has everything in control.

  29. “But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, “They’re just drunk, that’s all!””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

People will gossip and talk badly about things they do not comprehend. It’s not that they are bad people, they are just ignorant of the subject at hand. These people had never seen nor heard of ‘speaking in tongues’ just like a lot of individuals today. We should not respond in a negative attitude but see it as an opportunity to magnify the Lord by sharing Gods word and the wonderful gifts he bestows on people.

  30. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Many different languages all at the same time. This is the beauty of the Holy Ghost! Thank you Jesus for this wonderful gift.

  31. What does “moon into blood” refer to exactly? (vs 20) This astronomical event is actually called a Blood Moon, it occurs during a total lunar eclipse; the moon does not actually turn blood-red. If we are going to see these wonders in the heavens before the coming of the Lord, how long before His coming we will see them? Jesus only says “Of that day an hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” (Mat 24:6). Jesus said that “There will be sings in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars… When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your head, because your redeption draws near.” (Lk 21:25-28). He also said to his disciples while on the Mount of Olives “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened [solar eclipse] and the moon will not give its light [lunar eclipse]; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken [nuclear warfare?]. Then [after the signs in the heavens] the Son of Man will appear in heaven.” (Mat 24:29-30).

All of this scriptures specific signs in the heavens proceeding to coming global events. Jesus is using all things submissive unto him in creation to communicate with us. People (Eph 4:11), animals (Nu 22:28), environmental disasters (Lu 21:11) and even the sun, moon and stars will be a billboard signal pointing to the final days to come. Peter boldy tells the Jews here that the event of recieving the Holy Ghost is a fulfillment of the Word of God just like Joel prophesied long ago. Those who understand the natural calling of the Lord are being called to recieve the gift of the supernatural. What a great and mighty God we serve that he would use the sky as a high-definition billboard to send warnings and announcments of his coming.

Heb 2:6…”What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? 7Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:”

  32. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

I pray to see more of this in Jesus name! More people speaking in tongues and getting the Holy Ghost and more souls being saved!

  33. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Soon, we shall see another harvest, just as they did during Pentacost.

  34. “They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.”(Acts‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭NIV)

For they appeared among them divided tongues as of fire, and one of them sat upon each of them and was divided tongues, as of fire, appearing over each one of them , and were all unusual. For,It should’ve probably should been connected with John the Baptist’s prophecy that Jesus would baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire!!! In Jesus Name Amen!!!

  35. 13 But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, “They’re just drunk, that’s all!”
It’s sad but true that some people will believe a lie so much easier then the truth. Just as Pastor taught us, Moses had to cover his face with a vail so the people would listen.

  36. Verses 38-39 MSG “Peter said, “Change your life. Turn to God and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so your sins are forgiven. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is targeted to you and your children, but also to all who are far away—whomever, in fact, our Master God invites.”

Same verses AMP “And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you and your children, and to and for all that are far away, [even] to and for as many as the Lord our God invites and bids to come to Himself.

  37. Pentecost !!!! 1. AND when the day of Pen’-te-cost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4. And they were all filled with the Ho’-ly Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spir’-it gave them utterance. It is a Great gift when you get the Holy Ghost !!
