Deuteronomy 17

1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the Lord thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:

5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

7 The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;

9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:

10 And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the Lord shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:

11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

14 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the Lord hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

“He must always keep that copy with him and “read it daily” as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the LORD his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:19-20‬ ‭NLT

Someone say “Daily”…yep daily is the key word here that we should focus on. Daily read the Word . This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud is what the NLT has to say about the blog. Got Pride? Then Get Blog and thus get delivered!😀

  2. The end of verses 6-7 MSG says “…..You have to purge the evil from your community.” You have to remove and/or rid, clear, or free yourself from all that is evil or keeping you from where God wants you to be. A portion of verses 14-17 MSG says “He must not send people to Egypt to get more horses, because God told you, “You’ll never go back there again!”” In other words do not back paddle into sin; but, rather move forward, trusting in what the Lord will provide for you and has for you. We have to recognize the hour in which we live and live in reverent obedience. As the end of the chapter says we cannot become proud and arrogant, changing the commands at whim to suit ourselves and/or make up our own versions to suit what we want to do.

  3. 11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

    14 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

  4. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

We should give unto God the best the we can in our service, lives and offerings.

  5. 1. Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

These sacrifices were without blemish, and when Jesus gave Himself on the cross for one, last, eternal sacrifice, He was without blemish.

    1 Peter 2:21-22 KJV
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

    V1
So many years, so many lambs were offered up
But all the blood that was spilled could never fill that bitter cup
Till one spotless lamb, in the form of man, gave His life on Calvary
His was the only blood that could ever set me free

    Ch
For His blood was not just blood, of another spotless lamb
But His blood was precious blood for it washed the sins of man
And His blood it heals my body and it sets my spirit free
And I’m so glad this precious blood still flows from Calvary

    V2
No other blood could heal my broken body
And there’s no other blood that could save my sin-sick soul
And no other blood could conquer death and win the victory
There’s no other blood but the blood Jesus shed for me

  6. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

When we learn to go to the Word of God for any and everything. We will gain a love and respect for His Word that will lead us through life. The first step is to learn to go to His Word.

He will lead us to truth. He will become more than the sacrifice for our sin but He will become our Lord and most trusted friend.

  7. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

Whether you be the king of a kingdom, your home, workplace, or wherever you may be leading people, this is something to continuously live by.

  8. Deuteronomy 17:13
And all the people shall hear and fear and do no more presumptuously.

We shall hear the voice of God and do as he says . Grow with Jesus Amen

  9. 9 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

In the same manner, we read THE WORD OF GOD we become GOD fearing, humble and obedient.

If this isn’t occurring then we have missed it!!!
HALELUJAH!!! Thank you JESUS!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  10. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

We need to give all that we can and obey the Lord

  11. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

Never give GOD the sick or defective sacrifice, because HE will get very angry!
You should always give HIM the best sacrifice!

  12. “That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  13. “When he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he must make himself a copy of the law I’m teaching you. He must write it on a scroll. He must copy it from the scroll of a priest, who is a Levite. The king must keep the scroll close to him at all times. He must read it all the days of his life. Then he can learn to have respect for the Lord his God. He can carefully follow all of the words of that law and those rules. He won’t think of himself as being better than his people are. He won’t turn away from the law. He won’t turn to the right or the left. Then he and his sons after him will rule over his kingdom in Israel for a long time.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:18-20‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Now I can see why King David was the apple of Gods eye. Even though he was a king when they pointed out his failures he was so quick and humble to repent. It is because he hid the word of the Lord in his heart and he meditated on the word day and night.

Thank you to our leadership that encourages us to blog “DAILY”!

“How can a young person keep his life pure? By living in keeping with your word. I trust in you with all my heart. Don’t let me wander away from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart so that I won’t sin against you.

Following your covenant laws gives me joy just as great riches give joy to others. I spend time thinking about your rules. I consider how you want me to live. I take delight in your orders. I won’t fail to obey your word.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119:9-11, 14-16‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  14. 12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

If we still practiced this law then things would be a lot different in the church. It is serious business when you don’t listen to Godly council.

  15. 19 He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. (NLT)

We must daily build our relationship with the Lord. “Jesus Christ, my one desire is to know You all my life!”

  16. Proverbs 29:18 If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.

It is so much harder to do things “our” way. We mess things up, get in God’s way and generally delay the eventual outcome due to our medaling. Waiting on the Lord’s time is a very hard thing to do. Sitting on the front row of the battle we believe we can see an alternative way to victory. However, it does not always turn out that way. In fact, most of the time, it turns out worse. I pray continually for God to grant me patience and wisdom to wait for His timing.

So, does God simply grant patience when we pray for it or does he provide opportunity for us to be patient?

  17. THE ATTITUDE TO GROW IN GOD

The attributes of attitude in chapter 17 are those that are expected of a king. We can sum up this production in 1 word. HUMILITY. If we will live humbly before the LORD he will BLESS, ELEVATE and FAVOR us in HIS time. But the entire promotion process hinges on our willingness to submit to JESUS and HUMBLE ourselves in HIS sight, which is also in the sight of man.

You may say those are lofty expectations and they are for a king. True, thats who we are!

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Through the BLOOD of JESUS we are made kings and priests as we SUBMIT to and OBEY him and the voice HE places in our lives.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

JESUS draw us to you as we humble ourselves in your sight and submit to THE ATTITUDE TO GROW IN GOD.

  18. The WORD of The Lord will keep you from sin!!

“When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests. He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the LORD his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel. (‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17‬:‭18-20‬ NLT)

When we pick up the bible daily to read, it will keep me in obedience to His word. Truth will prevail in our city, and in our nation.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O Lord : teach me thy statutes. (‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭11-12‬ KJV)

Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭23‬:‭12‬ KJV)

  19. 1 And don’t sacrifice to God, your God, an ox or sheep that is defective or has anything at all wrong with it. That’s an abomination, an insult to God, your God. 2 If you find anyone within the towns that God, your God, is giving you doing what is wrong in God’s eyes, breaking his covenant MSG
God wants our first not what we have left at the end of the day. at the end of the day we are tried and worn out and God only gets a mild thank you God for the day, no that’s not right. for instance, how would you or I feel if someone gave us a nice crystal bowl and when we opened the gift if had cracks in it and stains from being used and maybe some chips on it. What would you think? As humans our first thought would be how in the world do they have the nerve to give me something like this and then for it to be used that is just so wrong. Well, how do you think God feels when we go to him at the last resort and offer to him ourselves broken and since we can’t fix it then we go to God. How do you think your/my troubles would turn out if we went to GOD first and gave him 100% of our first? I want to be the one that gives my first to God daily and everyday. God doesn’t want no hand me down he wants the genuine and serious. If you are hanging around with people that is breaking God’s covenant its time to rethink your friends cause you are displeasing God.

  20. 8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;

  21. Deut. 17:18-19
    18) And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
    19) And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them.

READ the WORD of GOD DAILY! “… Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecc. 12:13

  22. 15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

  23. Obey the limits

12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

Let’s begin by defining presumptuous:: overstepping due bounds (as of propriety or courtesy) : taking liberties

Very simple God established people of authority above us to keep us within certain limits. Those were set for OUR BEST, to keep us safe and secure. Now, you are thinking why should the person acting presumptuously should be put to death???? Because others will follow the actions of that person that’s why verse 13 says::: And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.
Because we do not want the same punishment. May be if stricter punishment were in place we wouldn’t have so many crimes. May the he Lord help us be humble and follow His word and the rules established by our authorities above us with humility and love knowing it is for our best in Jesus Name AMEN

  24. 2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the Lord thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

    3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

I’m thankful for the grace and mercy of the Lord. It was the duty of man to find those in fault, bring them for judgement and put them to death. We have an advocate with our Father, that should we find ourselves worshipping other gods, we can come with a repentant heart, turn away from that other god and find forgiveness and mercy.

  25. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

God knew that power and authority can corrupt and he already had a plan to keep the King humble. He knew many wives would also corrupt the man’s heart. He set the plan before them and it is their job now to follow the Lord as he spoke. Leadership in this highest of positions determine the fate of the rest of the nation. As a leader, people watch our actions and attitudes and we too can cause people to be blessed or cursed.

  26. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

The word of God should be read daily to keep our spirit right. With everything that happens in this world it is easy for our soul to be filled with darkness, this is why it is important to be sure that we keep our soul filled with His word, so that there will be NO room for darkness to even come in!!

  27. 20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
this verse and the verses preceding it give a clear definition of the lifestyle of a liter a leader should not be given to access or Indulgence but should be temperate in all things. By leading humbly and obediently to the will of God You can prolong your time in the kingdom and also be a blessing to your children as well.

  28. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

  29. In my understanding, if we want to save more souls, we not only have to invite them and bring them to church but also be an example to them by living a righteous life that is pleasing to Jesus.

  30. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

  31. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

Read , Read, Read…and know I don’t have all the answers, But if I stay in God’s word and put into action what is spoken, God is amazing! All he wants is to Know me!

  32. Deuteronomy 17:6-7 (NLT)
6 But never put a person to death on the testimony of only one witness. There must always be two or three witnesses. 7 The witnesses must throw the first stones, and then all the people may join in. In this way, you will purge the evil from among you.

Jesus told those who stood in front of the woman caught in adultery “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”
The witnesses were the first to throw the stones yet they refused. Perhaps they were taking inventory of their own lives.

Today we are witnesses because of the power of the Holy Ghost. When we see those who have fallen to sin we have a choice to make. We can either pick up a rock or we can do what Jesus did and forgive while offering hope of salvation.

  33. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

Our sacrifices must be pure before God

  34. A perfect sacrifice.

1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

How many times have we gone and “praised” God when we have some evil thoughts in our heart towards something or someone? As we read here God wants the best we have. When we sacrifice to God is it our best that we have. Or is it the left overs. You know those that you keep back for a rainy day. Or the ones that you’ll give your enemies but not your guests. We are all guilty at one point or another that we have down this. But now that we know what God is looking for. We are charged to give him our best that we have.

  35. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

We won’t skip a day without eating unless we are doing it on purpose such as fasting. So why would skip feeding our spirit with the word of God? Feeding our spirit is certainly more important than feeding our body. We should be careful to feed ourselves with the word of God every day. And sometimes it requires more than reading just one chapter a day, but even a couple times a day, once on the blog and once in your own private time, to get the word to dwell deeply in you.

    Deuteronomy 17:19-20 NLT
    http://bible.com/116/deu.17.19-20.NLT

His word is what we need daily so we can learn how to live and not stray from the Lords way. Not only does it teach us but it also keeps us humble and hungry for the things of God.

  37. The king was to be a man of gods word , he was supposed to make a copy of the law keep it with him at all times read from it every day , and obey it completely through this process

  38. 20 This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.

In a sense, continue to read the bible, this grows your relationship with God. It also keeps you humble, makes you realize there is someone in authority over you, God. Once you loose your sense of having someone looking over you, that’s when you loose your humbleness, and believe you are above the law!

  39. No stranger nor anyone that’s not your brother to be your President……..(king). Hmmmmm…….

15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

Be careful who you vote for, we have been warned!

  40. 5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

    8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;

9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment

  41. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

To keep the words. The more we expose ourselves to the word of God the more we retain and remember.

  42. God conveyed to Israel several times that he wanted things done a certain way. By not following God’s commandments, you could be assured there was a punishment that followed. When God’s Word is obeyed there are great things in store for that individual.

  43. Deuteronomy 17:20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment ,to the right hand, or to the left : to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.

I Kings 15:5 Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

  44. “Now the man who acts presumptuously and will not heed the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or the judge, that man shall die. So you shall put away the evil from Israel.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If such a case should occur, as that a man or woman transgressed the covenant of the Lord and went after other gods and worshipped them; when it was made known, the facts were to be carefully inquired into; and if the charge were substantiated, the criminal was to be led out to the gate and stoned.

  45. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them

One thing I’ve learned having a relationship with the Lord is that we need obedience, discipline, and sacrifice.

Exodus 19:5-  Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,

    1 Tim 1: 7 But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness;

Luke 9:24For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.

  46. And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

  47. 14 When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me; 15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

The children of Israel were instructed on how a leader would be chosen, and from where they were too be chosen. One is very wise to pray that God’s (Jesus) choice is the one that leads. Dear God, give us God fearing leaders that will support your word and Israel; and remove any that will not, in Jesus name. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  48. “That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.” There was instruction provided so that the king could rule, and do what was right in the sight of the Lord. Pride and arrogance will hinder a person from hearing clearly; whereas humility and servitude will make them want to hear clearly. God help us to examine ourselves, in Jesus name.

  49. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

If we were to read the word, s is described here, we too would feel such a strong conviction we too would better follow His Word.

  50. 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

Is if then they could not take any sacrifice that was blemish, why do we half heartedly bring God a repented heart, or a praise or and offering. Repentance has took the place of a animal sacrifice in the new covenant, we can not be bringing blemished sacrifice to God of any kind.

  51. v16″ forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way. ”

Although we are in the the world, we are not of the world because our citizenship is in heaven. We are just passing through this world as pilgrims.
Let’s continue to grow and win souls for HIS KINGDOM. HIS KINGDOM will abide forever and its increase will be like the stars in the heavens and sand of the seashore. That sounds like an ever increasing harvest of souls.
GOD WILL ADD DAILY, MUITPLYING GREATLY the number of souls. ( Acts 2:47

For John saw those who belong to the kingdom of God coming from many nations
Peoples, and tongues, .Those born of water and the Spirit.

  52. Deuteronomy 17:14 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you and have taken possession of it and settled in it and you say Let us set a king over us like the all nations around us be sure to appoint over you a king the Lord your God chooses. He must be from among your fellow Israelites. Do not place a foreigner over you one who is not an Israelite. The king moreover must not acquire great number of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them for the Lord has told you. You are not to go back that way again. He must not take any wives or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold. When he takes the throne of his kingdom he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law taken from the Levitical priests. It is to be with him and he is to read it all the days of his life so that they may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees and not consider himself better than his fellow Israelites and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will regin a long time over his kingdom in Israel.

  53. Deuteronomy 17:12,13
Authority was to be respected and obey. Disobedience was punishable by Death. The Law was strict at this point in order to deter others from committing the same sin.
