1 Kings 7

1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

2 He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

3 And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.

4 And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.

5 And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.

6 And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.

7 Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

8 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

9 All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

10 And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.

11 And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.

12 And the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the Lord, and for the porch of the house.

13 And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

14 He was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

15 For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.

16 And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:

17 And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the other chapiter.

18 And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.

19 And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

20 And the chapiters upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, over against the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter.

21 And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

22 And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.

23 And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

24 And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.

25 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

26 And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.

27 And he made ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.

28 And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:

29 And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.

30 And every base had four brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.

31 And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.

32 And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

33 And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.

34 And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters were of the very base itself.

35 And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.

36 For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

37 After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.

38 Then made he ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths: and every laver was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one laver.

39 And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward over against the south.

40 And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the Lord:

41 The two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars;

42 And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the pillars;

43 And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;

44 And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

45 And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the Lord, were of bright brass.

46 In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.

47 And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.

48 And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the Lord: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was,

49 And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

50 And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple.

51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

  1. But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, he finished all his house
    1 KINGS 7-1
Solomon had finished building God’s Temple, Hre has put God first. This let me know that, when we take care of God’s business firts he’ll take care of our business.

  2. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

King Solomon did a great work in having the house of the LORD built. He always put the work of GOD before himself. I can’t say that; there has been many times I put myself before the LORD. Now it’s time for me to just be about the LORD’S business and forget what the world thinks or says. I need to be more like King Solomon; in the sense in tune with GOD and open my eyes and ears to HIM.

Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

    Thank you Jesus…….Amen!!!

  3. In reading this chapter, my mind can only envision how magnificent and grand it must have looked. No detail was overlooked, only the best of the best was used from building materials to craftsmanship. We too should always give our best in all that we do. The end of the chapter talks about the completion and how Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated. This made me think about how we cannot afford to get lost in the newness or newest of things; but, remember the important things that got you there.

  4. 1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

Before Solomon set to build other things, he had to build his own house first. From what I seem to understand, before we can help others draw closer to Christ and build them up, we must have an intimate relationship with Jesus first.

  5. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

This is why we have to be so detailed on what we do and put it on paper. We need the discipline to write and execute what needs to be done for the house of God. Everything has to be done with excellence doing everything as done to the Lord because everything is done for Him. All the honor and glory is for Him. Hallelujah!!!!

Rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. ( Eph 6:7-8)

But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also. ( 2 Cor. 8:7)

  6. NO PLACE FOR THE WORLD

8 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

The WORD of GOD has declared King Solomon as the wisest man to live. Wisdom is the application of knowledge. With this fact in mind, how could the wisest man alive make such stupid decision? The King of Israel is taking an Egyptian wife?

Egypt is a type of the world, a form of bondage, slavery, idolatry and different values. What business does the King of Israel, chosen by JESUS have building a house for and being united with Pharaohs daughter an Egyptian?

    NONE – NO BUSINESS

1John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

We are instructed repeatedly to separate ourselves from the world. So how could the wisest man alive make such a stupid choice. There can only be 1 answer.

    R E B E L L I O N

Wisdom does not supersede a proud, arrogant heart that is driven by rebellion. No man in their right mind would cross the lines of Spiritual maturity and take an Egyptian to wife and build her a house in the Kings Palace. The point is even the wisest man alive rebelled and made a bad decision. We are wise to remain under authority and make choices that are affirmed by our Elders.

Proverbs 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

The most regretful choices we make are the ones we make on our own. Dont become a legend in your own mind. Seek counsel, make conscious, guided choices.

  7. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

What a father has designated and offered up to God a son should not take it away but follow through with the words of their father. In that way they will continue to live through their legacy.

  8. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

The dedication of the temple. It was a beautiful temple but as soon as it was built it was dedicated back to the service of God.
We are the temple of God and we too must completely dedicate ourselves completely back to God. He is the one who gives it and takes it away. It all belongs to Him any way so why not use what He has given whether talent or monatary we must dedicate to God for His service.

  9. 1 Kings 7:13-14 (AMP)
    13) Now King Solomon sent word and brought Hiram (a skilled craftsman) from Tyre.
    14) He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a craftsman in bronze. Hiram was filled with wisdom, understanding, and skill for doing any (kind of) work in bronze. So he came to King Solomon and did all his (bronze) work.

Where did Hiram get his wisdom, understanding, and skill for working with bronze from? Most likely his father, who was a craftsman in bronze.
So my question is, if Hiram learned his skill from his father, what are we teaching and training our children, this generation growing up, to be skilled in for the work in the kingdom of God?

    Train Up the Children!

  10. Solomon gathered the best of the best to use in building the Lords temple. We too must be sure to give God our very best. He is worthy!

  11. How beautiful Heaven will be…

I can only imagine how beautiful this house must have been. However, my mind runs to the finish line and wonder how much more Heaven will be than the prettiest home on earth. It took 51 verses to describe this building in this one chapter. Would a whole book of chapters be enough to describe the beauty of Heaven in the same detail? This keeps my mind running to what else will be or not be in Heaven.

Even though we do not know just exactly what everything is going to be like in Heaven, we do know that it is going to be better than anything in the world today. Can you imagine a place without sin, without wickedness, without trouble, without weariness, pain, sickness or problems? No envy, strife, jealousy, hatred, cheating or lying.

I believe it would help us all in our walk of faith to stop and consider how beautiful heaven must be. When we look around our world and see that it is full of both good and evil things it should help us to think about how heaven will be nothing like this place we live in now. Mere words cannot even begin to adequately describe the true beauty of heaven. It is calculated there are over 1 million words in the English language and we cannot accurately describe the beauty of Heaven.

Now think about this – no matter how great you imagination is or how vivid a picture you have in your mind of Heaven it will not even come close to real beauty. That is why we can only say how beautiful heaven must be because we cannot fully know its beauty until we get there.

  12. iLove to Grow in the Word
1 Kings 7:7 NLT Solomon also built the throne room, known as the Hall of Justice, where he sat to hear legal matters. It was paneled with cedar from floor to ceiling.

Today is the day I put 2 and 2 together. I never really realized that the throne room was designed with the purpose of judging legal matters. I actually never really thought about it in that sense. But today, I finally understand the power and significance of the throne.

Hebrews 4:16 NLT So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

  13. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

Solomon saved all the things that his father David had dedicated to the Lord in a storage room of the new house built unto the Lord. Solomon had his house and the house of the Lord build with every detail imaginable to the human eye. There was much sacrifice in building the house it didn’t matter the cost nor the time it would take what mattered was that it was built to perfection and pleasing to the Lord. We should also build our own altar and give our sacrifices that are pleasing to the Lord.

  14. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.
King Solomon kept God first and in doing so God blessed him greatly. He allowed him to build his own house and it was beautiful! It reminds me of Matt 6:33″ But seek year first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”.

  15. In this chapter it talks about a building and the process and the details of the materials involved. Just like the process of building and the details…that’s the exact same as the process of growing the body, weather it’s in ministries, souls or even the body growing in the area of being more mature. It’s all a process.
Then with using the different materials as an example of the different types of fruits we need to help grow in those different areas.

God uses everything for a reason. We all need a teachable mind and heart so God can not only work on us but as well as help us grow the body and so much more.

  16. 36 For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

The significance of the palm tree.

The Palm tree is used throughout the bible, we see it here and in other chapters that it was carved into the temple walls, the judge Deborah gave counsel under a palm tree, in psalms it’s said the righteous will flourish as the Palm tree(psalm 92:12). The tree was used in Song of Solomon as a comparison to a person stature, the Palm leaves were used in greeting our savior as he entered Jerusalem in humility upon a donkey, and in revelation saints from all nations are found around the throne of God with palms in their hands.
What is the significance of the Palm tree?
Physically, Palm trees grow straight, they do not branch out. They can grow up to 80 feet tall but more frequently 40 or 50. The leaves sometimes reaching a length of 20 feet. They begin to produce fruit after being planted for 6 or 8 years. The date Palm tree was abundant in the area here in the bible and was used for many needs of the people such as food, wine, timber, rope, mats, bags, baskets and etc.
Spiritually though Palm leaves have represented victory for ages. One writer states that the Romans would reward their champions of games with palm branches and would also celebrate their military victories with them. The writer goes on to say that the palms came to represent victory over death through the New Testament and martyrs of the gospel would be represented in art with Palm leaves in their hands.
    (http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/sunnysweb/palms.html, http://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/palm-tree/)

In the temple God had cherubs, lions, and Palm trees. Cherubs are spiritual beings, lions represent power and can symbolize royalty, Palm trees represent victory and provision.

  17. 7 Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

8 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

  18. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

In the process of building the temple (ourselves) we have to remember the purpose of it. The more we feed our spiritual life the more we build on ourselves to become better children of God every day. Always remember that at the end of each day you that you continue to live on earth , the most important thing is to please God and give him the best in everything you do.

  19. 40 And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the Lord:

Without allllll of the material and tools used, they could have never began to build anything. It’s like the church we need every part of the body to do THE WILL OF GOD WITH EXCELLENCE!!! UNITY UNITY UNITY!!!

  20. 9-12 No expense was spared—everything here, inside and out, from foundation to roof was constructed using high-quality stone, accurately cut and shaped and polished. (MSG)

    No expense was spared!

  21. Huge carved stones of this size? Think of the cost of the foundation for this magnificent building! I think of Jesus as the foundation of the church and our redemption and of the great cost of laying down his life from a cruel death. Since most people do not know biblical salvation, we must reach for and teach our circle of family and friends so that his salvation reaches every one he intends it for. Matt 28:18-19 Go, tell, teach…Acts 2:39, John 3:3-5

  22. I wrote my blog earlier but it doesn’t look like it posted 😦 so I will try to redo it here.

36 For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

The significance of the Palm tree.

Throughout the bible we find the Palm tree. The judge Deborah sat under one as she gave counsel, we find them here carved into the temple, in psalms we see that the righteous will flourish like the Palm tree (psalm 92:12).The leaves were used to welcome our savior as he entered humbly on a donkey, and in revelation we find saints of all nations surrounding the throne with palms in their hands.
What is the significance of the Palm tree?
Physically, the Palm tree grows straight and tall, it doesn’t branch out. It can reach heights of 80 ft, but mostly around 40 or 50. The leaves can even reach a length of 20 ft. The date Palm was found in abundance in this area in the bible days but is now said to be rare. The trees were resourceful, producing fruit after being planted 6-8 years, they were good for timber, the sap was made for wine, the leaves made baskets, bags, mats, ropes, etc. they provided for many needs of the people in the surrounding areas.
Spiritually though, Palm leaves have represented victory for ages. One writer states that the Romans would reward the champion of their games with Palm leaves and use them to celebrate military victory as well. The writer goes on to say that the Palm began to represent victory over death in the New Testament with martyrs of the gospel being represented in art with Palm leaves in their hands.
    (References: http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/sunnysweb/palms.html, http://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/palm-tree/)

Here we find cherubs, lions, and Palm trees carved into the walls of the temple. Cherubs are spiritual beings, lions represent power and can also represent royalty, and Palm trees are victory and provision. All attributes of our God!

  23. 13 And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

14 He was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

We are all given talents and gifts that can be used for the kigdom of God.

  24. “King Solomon finished all of the work for the Lord’s temple. Then he brought in the things his father David had set apart for the Lord. They included the silver and gold and all of the articles for the Lord’s temple. Solomon placed them with the other treasures that were there.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭7:51‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Even though David had passed away his vision and passion lived on. As a leader it is important to make the vision plain. The vision should always out live the leader. Make your vision plain m and invest in someone to take your place.

  25. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.
    The dream must go on!

  26. 1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

2 He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

  27. 1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

2 He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

Solomon first built his house, then once he had it built he began to work on other houses. We must first make sure our relationship with God is right, because if we’re not right with Him we cannot help others turn their lives to Him.

Even when a house is built and you are living in it does not mean that it will never need work or you will never want to change anything. Houses many times need a repair or maybe you just want to change how something looks in it. But as long as it’s built on a strong foundation and its standing, not only can you live in it but you can invite others to enjoy it. Our relationship with God will always need work and we will continually have the need to grow, but as long as we build our lives on God and stand on his word, we will be able to help others draw unto Him!!

  28. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

  29. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

  30. 50 And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple.

51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

  31. 1 Kings 7:21 (KJV Strong’s)
21 And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

    Jachin he will establish
    Boaz – quick and nimble

The pillars were at the front of the temple. In order to go through you had to pass through two pillars named after two men.

Jachin means he will establish. In other words the foundation, the beginning. This pillar represents God as the Lord and the creator.

Boaz was the kinsman redeemer. He foreshadowed Christ.

In order to go into the temple you had to pass by two foundational principles. One that God is the creator, and two the kinsman redeemer, our savior Jesus Christ.

Today if we desire entrance into the temple we must believe that God is the creator and the savior.

  32. 51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the Lord. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the Lord.

Give honor where honor is due.

Even King Solomon who built this beautiful temple, used that which his father had already made. Giving honor to him. How many of us could say that what we do has a bit of honor for our members of our family.

  33. 8 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

Solomon was given the gift of wisdom, but why would he marry an Egyptian princess. It’s evident he was leaning into his own understanding thinking that turning her into a trophy wife would not harm his walk. Instead this step along with worship in high places will lead Solomon down the wrong path worshiping false gods. It’s important to be evenly yoked for how can two walk together unless they agree.

  34. 1 But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

2 He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

It is one thing to build our own house but it is the will of God for us to build ourselves and others. We can take these verses and apply them to our lives by opening our lives up to others as a testimony of the goodness of God! We can also help others and teach them the Word of God and the foundational principles thats needed to build their lives the way that God is building ours.

  35. All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

Sometimes within our walk with God it will cost us some things! Don’t be afraid to loose that place you live at a relationship or a job but rather rejoice in that because it could be God showing you that you need to throw some stones to prepare you for another attack of the enemy! A lot of the times we get in this mindset of we can do everything ourselves which in turn gets us out of the will of God! Remember God is not a man that he should lie and God will not force himself upon any of us! So the next time your in a battle remember this very thing you have the power to throw stones at the enemy!

  36. Gods house has to be right. From the man who builds it to the servents who work to the materials that are used. It has to be right.

  37. Priorities are often shown by the order things are talked about. In this chapter we hear a great deal about solomon’s own house before we hear about God’s house. We even hear about his Egyptian wife’s house before we hear of the house of God.

This should be a reminder to all of us that even when we are doing a great work for the Lord we still need to stay focused on Him before our own wants.

  38. How easy it would have been after the temple was completed for Solomon to put his things in the temple. Instead, he place the items that David had dedicated to the Lord in the temple. Once again we see Solomon completing a vision that his father had, carrying it through to completion.

Too many times people are not willing to help carry out the vision of another man. Ministries come in many different forms. Not everyone can/will be the Pastor, but everyone has an important role in the Kingdom. We are one body all fitly joined together making up the bride of Christ. Every part is important and necessary for the body to work properly.

  39. That place was huge. Over 11,000 square feet. A rather nice size three millennia ago. If only we could find its ruins. That would be revolutionary to biblical archaeology.

  40. You are the best one of the best ones! God chooses to use us to be formed into the very best, because He has such high expectations we should also have high expectations for ourselves. Let’s serve the Lord with our very best!

  41. 1 Kings 7:8-11 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch. All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court. And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits. And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.

Solomon build his wife a house, but not just anti house. A house that’s compared to today would have been one of the most expensive just because of its glamour.

Comparably, we men to should build our wife a home like this. A house that filled withe the Spirit of God, filled with peace, love, kindness, etc. A house in the spirit that is beautiful and pleasant to the eyes of God.

  42. 7 Solomon also built the throne room, known as the Hall of Justice, where he sat to hear legal matters. It was paneled with cedar from floor to ceiling,

Just like today, they had court rooms to have hearings and make judgement. It would have been great to listen to Solomon making decisions whether innocent or guilty. Im sure he provided very good words.
