Joshua 22

Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:

Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord your God.

And now the Lord your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side Jordan.

But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.

Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them,

And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.

And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

10 And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to.

11 And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.

12 And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.

13 And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,

14 And with him ten princes, of each chief house a prince throughout all the tribes of Israel; and each one was an head of the house of their fathers among the thousands of Israel.

15 And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,

16 Thus saith the whole congregation of the Lord, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the Lord, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the Lord?

17 Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord,

18 But that ye must turn away this day from following the Lord? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to day against the Lord, that to morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.

19 Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the Lord, wherein the Lord‘s tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the Lord, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the Lord our God.

20 Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.

21 Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh answered, and said unto the heads of the thousands of Israel,

22 The Lord God of gods, the Lord God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the Lord, (save us not this day,)

23 That we have built us an altar to turn from following the Lord, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer peace offerings thereon, let the Lord himself require it;

24 And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the Lord God of Israel?

25 For the Lord hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the Lord: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the Lord.

26 Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice:

27 But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the Lord before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the Lord.

28 Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.

29 God forbid that we should rebel against the Lord, and turn this day from following the Lord, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the Lord our God that is before his tabernacle.

30 And when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation and heads of the thousands of Israel which were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them.

31 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the Lord is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the Lord: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the Lord.

32 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.

33 And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.

34 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the Lord is God.

  1. 4 And now the Lord your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side Jordan.

  2. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    REST

3 Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord your God.
4 And now the Lord your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side Jordan.

There is no PEACE like Obedience. PEACE is a gift from GOD when we are obedient to HIS commands and instructions. We need each other to fulfill and complete this REST in JESUS.

We also glean from this chapter that we are not forgotten by GOD. We must not become frustrated or discouraged by the absence of fellowship. Knowing that it is for a season. We have this promise from GOD.

    OBEDIENCE = REST

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGive
    iReap

  3. This could have been a great misunderstanding and it could have cost lives. However Joshua sent men to investigate the matter and found that the tribes building the altar as they returned to their land was not done in rebellion but as a sign to their families to come.

It is best to not jump to conclusions about any matter but search it out before taking action. Otherwise souls could be lost unnecessarily.

  4. Love the LORD with all your heart , soul, might. When we truly love GOD we will do anything to let him know. Also we have the right to praise and worship GOD. GOD isn’t just for one group of people. He’s for all who come to him.

  5. 22 The Lord God of gods, the Lord God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the Lord, (save us not this day,)

  6. 29 God forbid that we should rebel against the Lord, and turn this day from following the Lord, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the Lord our God that is before his tabernacle.

Jesus wants a relationship with you. Do you ever get upset if your wife or husband is ignoring you or your kids aren’t talking to you because their too “busy”. I imagine Jesus feels the same way. We have to make time out of our day that’s given by him and give him the appreciation and praise he deserves. That’s all in return he’s asking for, just relationship. It’s all through the Bible Old Testament and new. “Seek ye first the Kingdom”

  7. Verse 5 MSG “Only this: Be vigilant in keeping the Commandment and The Revelation that Moses the servant of God laid on you: Love God, your God, walk in all his ways, do what he’s commanded, embrace him, serve him with everything you are and have.” Same verse MEV “Only carefully obey the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to obey His commandments, to cling to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and soul.” We must serve God with diligence and devotion in all things. We cannot forget what he has brought us through and what he has blessed us with; but, rather treasure it by being thankful and obedient to what he has commanded. As you LIVE-GIVE JESUS, your life will be a testimony to your children, their children and future generations will not only hear; but, see the blessings of God.

  8. 27. But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the Lord before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the Lord.

    28. Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.

We can’t just live our lives and take for granted that future generations will be okay, we must make sure we lead them and show them how to LIVE JESUS and GIVE JESUS.

If we could find a way
    To preserve our faith
    So those who follow us
See the price that was paid
    Then maybe when they question
What it’s gonna take to survive
They’ll find the strength to carry on
    In what we leave behind

    I won’t bend and I won’t break
I won’t water down my faith
    I won’t compromise
    In a world of desperation
What has been I cannot change
    But for tomorrow and today
    I must be a light
    For future generations

  9. Joshua 22 : 5-6 [Amp] But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you; to love the Lord your God and to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and to cling to and unite with Him and to serve Him and to serve Him with all your heart and soul [ your very life.]
Each of us have a purpose and a promise from God.
We should honer it, We need each other.
Obeintence and submissive to his commandments.
To love and pray for this lost world that need us.
    Have peace with Jesus !

  10. Joshua 22
Two thoughts came to mind as I read this chapter…
    1) Be obedient and faithful, and when it is time for you to “GO,” the Pastor will send you, and you will be sent with his blessing.
    2) Why are we so quick to judge? Why do we jump to conclusions? Why do we assume things before we know the facts?
Know the facts, and it will keep a lot of people from being hurt!

  11. 5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Once you receive your promise, you receive rest and I say Thank You Jesus! But that doesn’t mean we become slack in our commitments. Adhere to the Word of God and continue boldly living and giving Jesus!

  12. 21Then the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh answered the leaders of the clans of Israel: 22“The LORD, the Mighty One, is God! The LORD, the Mighty One, is God! He knows, and may Israel also know. If this was in rebellion or breach of faith against the LORD, do not spare us today. 23If we have built for ourselves an altar to turn away from Him and to offer burnt offerings and grain offerings on it, or to sacrifice fellowship offerings on it, may the LORD Himself hold us accountable

Looks can be deceiving when you don’t know the full story and all the circumstances. But when the rest of Israel showed up to reubenites and the gadites and half of Manasseh, they were automatically jumping to the wrong conclusions. Sometimes we as humans do this out of reaction and we have to back step once the information is gathered. I find until I know the entire story and all the details I try not to jump to conclusions. I find it is safer that way.

Here we find that they wanted God to hold them accountable for their wrong doing and not man. They knew that God had been good to them and helped them and gave them their inheritance. We have to stop looking to the outside of man and be like Hid to look at the heart of man. Because whatever is in the heart of man will eventually expose itself.

  13. 2 And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:
3 Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord your God.

They did what there leader commanded them to do and kept there word to help the rest of the people get there blessing.
what would happen if the church wouldn’t just worry about there blessing and help others to get there or one ministry helping another or one church helping another we are all seeking that one goal Jesus. To get to heaven.
Today let us have our eyes open today to see others in need.

  14. Remembering to pray. As long as these east bank tribes actually fallow through with their plans of using this altar as a memorial for their children and reminding them to go to Israel to worship at the Tabernacle then everything will be ok. But I do believe that descendants in later generations fall away and use this altar as a place of worship saying that you don’t have to make sacrifices to God. So the memorial for prayer and relationship was lost in the desires of the flesh. Not wanting to go the full extent of what God commands us to do is detrimental for us and future generations.

  15. 5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

it is the reoccurring theme of the entire word of God. From Genesis to Revelation you will see this theme as a banner: to love the Lord your God with all your heart mind body and soul and to walk with him in all his ways. It seems that every generation had some form of this given to them by the man of God. David and Solomon give it to the people, Moses and Joshua gave it to the people, God gave it to Adam when he walked with him, Peter and Paul told the churches and Jesus told his disciples. It’s not as complex as we sometimes make it. If we love the Lord our God and walk in his ways everything else will fall in place

  16. 5 But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the LORD your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.

Yes, obey God, walk in his ways, and serve him wholeheartedly. God has blessed you in many ways, in ways you may have not even noticed. God has been good to you and your family. Remember the blessings God has given you and thank him.

1 Samuel 12:24 But be sure to fear the LORD and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.

  17. Joshua 22
24 “No! We did it for fear that some day your descendants might say to ours, ‘What do you have to do with the Lord, the God of Israel?

Good intentions misunderstood. An automatic response is something we all are guilty of. The Israelites immediately thought they needed to once again rise up in war. When in reality they learned it was actually beneficial for this altar to be built. Not for division but unity . Quick reaction to something someone has done us called an “automatic reaction.”
Anger Management teaches we can learn how to change this response by becoming aware of our own self. Learning how to react differently by learning how to control emotional outbursts. Sounds complex. Well take a look back at the entire chapter here. The “brothers” had assured in what Moses had commanded. They had first listened then loved them obeyed thus results had been blessings. Yet as they are doing as commanded because of one action they become in question by an automatic reaction . They had just finished having unity and now disunity arose.
When they explain what they had done reconciliation was there. They were looking at the future . So many times we are so caught up in the heat of the moment we fail to see what cause and effect this could be having on the future generations. Is it truly about me or is it about the God that needs to be lived and given . Our children are the future and they have got to have memorials something rooted to keep them adhered to the word of God. Too many are rising up against one another . Unity and staying in accordance to God’s order is important. Hold fast to unity . Watch your automatic reactions . The altar was being built to keep unity . Prayer within the family can keep this unity . So well spoken last night . Pray and keep praying. We can only change ourself . I can’t change the past but I can do something with the present in order for the future to be altered. In Jesus name.
    Live Jesus Give Jesus

  18. iLove King Jesus

It was about to go down…The Children of Israel came for battle to show these folks up. Perception was that these folk had set up an altar to worship false gods. In my mind I could see them pull out the sword and with no questions asked just start slaying folk. But instead of jumping to conclusions, they sat down and talked about what was going on and got an explanation.

Pro 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

  19. 10 And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to.

11 And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.

I can see how they got upset. It would be like me building a small building in n Mineral Wells with the name POFW. Y’all would get upset thinking I’m going to begin to worship in Mineral Wells and never com back to POFW. Therefore splitting the church and creating division. When all I wanted was to be identified as a member of POFW. All the tribe of Ruben, Gad, and part of the Manasseh wanted was an altar to remind their brethren that they were one. That they were Israelites just like them. It wasn’t an altar to worship or sacrifice but an altar of remembrance. God never wants division in His body only unity. Those that think “I can have church all by myself at home” that’s a lie from the devil!!! Don’t take me wrong, I love to watch POFW LIVE on Wednesdays and Sunday night when I can’t make it to church but we NEED THE CONGREGATION!!! We need the unity of each other!!! Romana 14: 7-13 and Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. We need the UNITY to see the miraculous happen!!!! We need to be UNITED IN PRAYER AND WE WILL SEE HIS POWER OVER OUR LIVES!!!

  20. Joshua 22:34

And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the alter Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God.

We, The Pentecostals Of Fort Worth, have prayed for unity in our congregation. Let us not forget that it is a witness among us that the Lord our God is One Lord, and our Lord.

    Hallelujah!!

    Thank you Jesus!!!

  21. 11 And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.
12 And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.

Israel knew that the Lord’s anger would be against all of them when even just a few sinned against Him. They had come too far to lose their blessings, so they rose up against their brethren. Thank God they had the wisdom to ask first before they acted. This is something we all must control: responding and not reacting when adversity hits. We must see both sides and understand the situation and not jump to conclusions! It will save us a lot of grief and regret by biting our tongues with a response.

  22. 22:8 and he spake unto them saying: Return with much
Riches unto your tents and with very much cattle, with silver and with gold, and with brass and with iron,
And with very much raiment, divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
    ———
    Wow🙌🙌🙌👍
Well they all had gotten together and Joshua talki g to them
Making sure he is telling them that they have done good, they have kept the Lords commandments, they have followed Joshua’s instructions, they have kept the word of the Lord,The Lord has given them the Victory over their enemies and else…..
We can see how blessed they are. They lack nothing.
It’s time to move on, it’s to get up, and continue
To march the direction The Lord has command.
The were in a season . Of being favored by God.

    🙌🙌🙌
Let us keep pressing on, let us continue walking forward

  23. 4 And now the Lord your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side Jordan.
5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
6 So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.

God had promised rest and he delivered. But once that time has passed, you have to go out again for the rest of your promised possessions. It also reads to take heed of the commandments and the law. If you get your blessings but then refuse to follow the commandments and instructions given them you cannot continue to expect to be blessed. “. . . to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

29 God forbid that we should rebel against the Lord, and turn this day from following the Lord, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the Lord our God that is before his tabernacle.

  24. 5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Most of us have heard the classic “be good” before going to school or out with friends. It’s not that the we don’t already know we need to behave and do as they are taught. Like God, Joshua wants to see that the people don’t stray away in their walk. This is why he tries to remind them to remain dedicated servants.

Focus and determination are just nouns until they are impacted by a catalyst to become an action verb. Loosing weight for instance requires that focus and determination, but keeping it off requires a life change to maintain it. Israel has shown their obedience to God by claiming the promised land now they must live for God to keep it. Distractions, discouragements, and temptations will come to test our ability to hold on to Gods hand. We have to love God with all our heart and soul that we could resist them and never let go.

  25. 31 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the Lord is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the Lord: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the Lord.

Phinehas recognises the presence of God in the congregation, because he recognized that God was among them. That they had FAVOR with God. They were not going to trespass again the Lord. We must keep holy and pure from idolatry. For there is only one God and His Name is JESUS.

  26. 5 “But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.” NLT

When we love someone we choose to do things that we would rather not do. All out of love. We choose God’s will over our own, we choose to obey his commands and instructions.

  27. “Only be very careful and diligently observe the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD has commanded you to love the LORD your God and walk in all His ways and keep His commandments and hold fast to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul [your very life].””
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭22:5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

A commandment that was repeated throughout scripture. Just how important do you think it is to God?

  28. Reuben and Gad named the altar: A Witness Between Us. God Alone Is God.
    Joshua 22:34 MSG

Will your witness be bright enough to leave a sound message and memory that generations after you’re gone can say ‘Let us serve the One true living GOD as they did!’ We have seen His faithfulness, His word is true, There’s nothing else out there that can compare.

O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good; How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him.
    Psalms 34:8 AMP

  29. 4 And now the Lord your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side Jordan.

5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

The Lord our God is a promise keeper, he does his promises. We need to follow the commandments of our God, we need to keep our promises to him and obey him. Our Lord will never let us down so why should we?

  30. 5 But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Loving God is not optional, it is commanded. If I am going to be intimate with God, I have to obey His commands and He never commands us to do something impossible or unreasonable. So to love God is to serve Him with the totality of our existence, all we have, and all we are, holding nothing back.

  31. Joshua 22
God never wants division among his people. Gad, Ruben and Manasseh didn’t want an alter for sacrifices or worship. They wanted all the Israelites to realize that they were one group, even though there was land division among them. Before we judge others we must hear the whole story. This almost started a war against each other but it would have been a mistake.

  32. 19 Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the Lord, wherein the Lord‘s tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the Lord, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the Lord our God.

Too many of us lack this willingness; we tell people to stop sinning, but are not willing to help them if it costs us something. Jesus help me to always be willing to help someone that is need.

  33. 4 And now the Lord your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side Jordan.

5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

When we adhere to God’s commandments His blessings will follow us. There is peace and contentment when we are obedient to God.

  34. But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

6 So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.

7 Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them,

8 And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.

  35. 5 But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

    Joshua 22:5 NIV

We must be faithful to the word of God, we must obey his commandments. The Lord loved us so much that he placed our Pastor to show us and remind us His way. We have to be faithful and keep holiness in our lives.

  36. 8 And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.

God will take from your enemies and give it to you. Don’t ever think that what the enemy has God is not able to take it away. He will cause your enemies to bow down before you. The God we serve has the power to keep you out of harm’s way and still bless you. It is his because of his mercy that we are not consumed.

  37. 16 Thus saith the whole congregation of the Lord, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the Lord, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the Lord?

17 Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord,

18 But that ye must turn away this day from following the Lord? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to day against the Lord, that to morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.

Our disobedience and sin not only hurts us but those around us. We must be careful what we let into our lives that my harm others.

    Live Jesus!

  38. our faith is pure, it is what keeps us following God. it is precious and we need to preserve it so it wont be harmed by the enemy.

  39. 5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Even today, the same still applies, and we have to strive to be holy.

  40. 4 And now the Lord your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side Jordan.

5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
    Proverbs 3:4‭-‬6 KJV

Direct thy paths…. We think of direction and knowing where to go and which way you have to go to get there. Being diligent to keep to the map so that we don’t get lost. Its those commandment that our GPS gives us, “in a quarter mile turn left…” Its that pathway that will get us there safely and quickly. Or maybe we need to take a detour to avoid construction. Or it tells us to slow cause there is road work ahead. We take heed to the direction we are suppose to go so that we go down the right path. When we take his direction, walk his way, trust his way, obey, follow, lean, connect we are able to find our rest area we are able to get to the destination, his promise, and possess it and keep it.

  41. 5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul

GOD IIS FAITHFUL!!! Especially when we are obedient

  42. 10 And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to.

Accountability and communication are key. It is very important to keep yourself submitted and accountable. We see here a situation rising for lack of clear understanding. When it was expressed and described why of their actions then they understood that they were not being rebellious and doing their own thing. That is the importance of effective communication. However this conflict of misunderstandings could have been avoided in they would have kept themselves accountable and communicated clearly their intentions and or plans before acting on them. Accountability and effective communication keeps you covered.

  43. Some say you can’t do Gods math

The beginning of this chapter begins with obedience to Gods word. The end of this chapter is God fulfilling his promises to those who obeyed. It is simple to do Gods math here. Obey and be blessed.

  44. “But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.””
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭22:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We need to hear the word of God and Love God with all of our heart and walk in obedience.
We can’t say we love God and don’t hear His word or walk in disobedience.
We Must do what Joshua told the people to do on this verse.

  45. Joshua 22:5 KJV
[5] But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

** Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the Lord is with thee.

    ♥️2 Samuel 7:13 KJV
[13] He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

    2 Samuel 7:27 KJV
[27] For thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
