Psalm Chapter 4

Pray Today

Acts 5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Fort Worth, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Psalm 4

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

  1. Verse 8 MSG “In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.”

Psalm 62:5-8 CEV says “Only God gives inward peace, and I depend on him. God alone is the mighty rock that keeps me safe, and he is the fortress where I feel secure. God saves me and honors me. He is that mighty rock where I find safety. Trust God, my friends, and always tell him each of your concerns. God is our place of safety. John 14:27 CEV also says “I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn’t like the peace this world can give. So don’t be worried or afraid.” ReVIVE and trust God!

  2. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Here Psalm 4, of course, the words are spoken to wicked men to warn them against the overflow of anger into violent action. As they lie awake in the quietness of the night hours, they should search their hearts and consider the stupidity of fighting against God. Such sober reflections would silence their slanderings and terminate their wicked plans.

  3. 7. You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. NLT

God’s Spirit within us and the hope of eternal life gives us greater, lasting joy than the fleeting pleasure of earthly possessions.

  4. 1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

He starts out this psalm in distress knowing who is God is, and in desperate need of his Mercy and help and within eight verses he’s able to go to sleep knowing that God will hear his prayer and take care of him. A man after God’s Own Heart. Someone who can start off upset and distressed and leaving disheartened by God can easily change his whole perspective with one prayer and by the end, submit his will and everything over to God. His faith is restored within a short amount of time. It gives so much Clarity and peace to knowing that we are not only allowed to be human with feelings of doubt and even anger As Long As We Know who God is and revere Him, then we remain under his safeguarding and care

  5. But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

In times of questioning your purpose in this life, we can know that the Lord has a purpose for us. Sometimes all we can do is just basically meditate about the fact the Lord saved us, and put are worries in God’s hands.

  6. “You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.”

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is so easy to let circumstances defeat us when all we need to do is turn everything over to the Lord. If David could experience true joy and peace under these difficult circumstances, so can we.

  7. “Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the LORD.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭4‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In every situation, we must uphold righteousness. Whether we face trials without apparent results, endure sickness or pain, or even when everything goes smoothly, we should always strive to live righteously. Our hope is in the Lord, and we should trust in him always in every situation regardless of the outcome.

  8. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

there’s nothing in this world that could ever compare to Gods joy, only God can lift us up like no other and love us like no other.

  9. In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.

    Psalms 4:8 AMP

You’re my Comforter, my Security Blanket! ❤️ AND my Protector!!! I TRUST in YOU!!!!

  10. te amo señor JESUS, acada momento veo sobre mi vida tu amor , tu protecciòn hacia mi familia y agradezco por todo.

  11. 4 “Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.

As imperfect humans we will sometimes get angry. however, we must make sure we don’t sin in our anger. Every time we are mad, we should check ourselves to see if we are upset at the things God hates. Otherwise, we may be angry without just cause and give opportunity to the devil.

  12. Psalm 4:4,5 Stand in awe and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still, Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

    Ephesians 4:26
“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger:

Trust the Lord, sacrifice is trusting the the Lord God Almighty.

  13. Psalms 4: 4-5 [ KJV] Stand in awe, and sin not ,commune with your own heart upon your bed and be still, Selah.

5] Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

Another hymn of trust, An evening prayer.

David trusted God and was sustained by faith, being assured of God’s help, God gives joy, peace, and security.

Our hope comes from the Lord in every situation, whatever we may face, we should always trust the Lord.

You’re my Hope, Comforter, Provider and my Proctector.

Thank you Jesus for Everything you have Done.

  14. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

Even when situations rise in our lives that would bring stress to us, we can be confident that God is in control therefore we can have peace and rest in Him.

    JESUS MAKES ME GLAD

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

The GLADNESS of JESUS is from knowing the GIFT of GOD.

FAITH, GRACE, MERCY, SALVATION, HEALING, PROVISION and PROTECTION. This is a short list of ways JESUS has put GLADNESS in my HEART.

GLADNESS from JESUS is GREATER than provision and blessing.

Think about the GOODNESS of our LORD JESUS and allow HIS GLADNESS to FILL your HEART today. JESUS make us GLAD.

We used to sing the song

I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart
I will enter His courts with praise
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made
I will rejoice for He has made me glad

He has made me glad, He has made me glad
I will rejoice for He has made me glad
He has made me glad, He has made me glad
I will rejoice for He has made me glad

I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart
I will enter His courts with praise
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made
I will rejoice for He has made me glad

He has made me glad, He has made me glad
I will rejoice for He has made me glad
He has made me glad, He has made me glad
I will rejoice for He has made me glad
I will rejoice for He has made me glad

    Hallelujah
    Hallelujah
    Hallelujah
    He has made me glad
    Hallelujah
    Hallelujah
    Hallelujah
    He has made me glad

Psalms 4:2 (KJV) O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

That word “leasing” actually means “falsehood”. God hates lies and deceit. Actually this whole chapter goes right along with our Wednesday night Bible Study. But, God really despises falsehood and He will judge accordingly. Let’s walk in the light, lets be filled with gladness, let’s cast the works of the flesh aside

  17. 3 But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Being godly doesn’t mean we are perfect, rather that we are living our best for him according to his word, asking forgiveness for when we fail. Repentance is daily/nightly and as soon as we realize our sin. Then when we call on him he hears us and as we prepare for sleep we have a clean heart and peaceful sleep.

  18. Psalm: chapter 4

The setting is the same as Psalm 3. David pleads for God’s help and warns his enemies not to wrong him because he is God’s own. David is able to rejoice despite his desperate circumstances, because all he cares about is God. The Lord, not his lost royal glory, is the source of his joy and the source of his inner peace.

  19. Psalms 4:8 (VOICE), “Tonight, I will sleep securely on a bed of peace because I trust You, You alone, O Eternal One, will keep me safe.”

No matter what we are going through, when we put our TRUST In GOD, HE Will Give Us PEACE. PEACE in knowing that HE Will Keep Us Safe, Protect Us, Provide For Us, Make A Way For Us, Fight For Us, etc…

Phil. 4:7 (KJV), “And the PEACE of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

So Thankful for the PEACE of God in my life!

  20. I will lie down and sleep in peace,

for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety

    ———

This is must be said at bed time

with confidence, believing knowing that mighty God is in control of everything

and that no matter what life brings, all things will work together fo good.

    in the name Jesus Christ.

  21. Psalm 4

8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

With Jesus, I trust he will take care of me. I refuse to live in fear. I love our Lord and I feel he will protect me.

“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:12-13 (NIV)

Thank you Jesus for this day.

People get really happy when they get something new, a raise at their job, a special event, so many things that bring them joy. But do they have inter-joy, the kind that only Jesus can give. When you’re going through difficult times, bad things happen, you lose your job, a death in the family, so many things that could cause you grief. Do you look to God, and pray for His peace, His joy, His guidance, it is when you have the Holy Spirit inside that you know without a doubt that no matter what happens God is in control. You don’t have to worry, fret over lost causes, God has it. Knowing this brings me peace. It helps me get through the tough times. He helps me get through each day. Giving me joy in my heart. Deep inside where no one can take it away for He is my shield.

  23. Joy of the Lord! His Light! Vs 6-8) see Rev 21:23 then 2 Peter 3:13 where God is preparing a new world and when He returns He is looking for believers living pure lives on earth.

  24. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

when we truly trust Jesus, we can find peace in the roughest of storms.

  25. 1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.3 But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

sometimes when were tested and we feel nothing changing is because we’re doing the same thing we say we won’t do and continue to do those things and keep repenting every second. But when you surrender all your old ways and things hendering your walk with God you see what God has in store for you and you’ll see what he can and will do when you commit. When you don’t want to pray, pray anyways. When you don’t want to fast, fast anyways and when you don’t want to read his word, read anyways. Take charge of your flesh and then will you see what God will do when you put him first in your everyday life.

  26. ‭Psalms 4:8 NLT‬
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

God is our peace, our place of safety, our hiding place, our comforter, our firm foundation, our protector, our shelter.

I know right where I’m turning
    When trouble’s on every side
The lesson I keep on learning is I just need You
I may never know every reason
Why things are the way they are
Oh, I don’t need all the answers, I just need You
    Shelter, I need Your shelter
Hide me away from the harm
    Away from it all
I’m safe here in Your loving arms
    I need Your shelter
    Whatever the future’s holding
    Whatever tomorrow brings
Oh, one thing I know is certain
    I just need You
    Shelter, I need Your shelter
Hide me away from the harm
    Away from it all
I’m safe here in Your loving arms
    I need Your shelter
    Oh, I need Your shelter
Hide me away from the harm
    Away from it all
I’m safe here in Your loving arms
The weight of the world’s falling off of my shoulders
I’m letting go, ’cause I know that You hold it
You care for me more than I even know, and
    I just need You
The weight of the world’s falling off of my shoulders
I’m letting go, ’cause I know that You hold it
You care for me more than I even know, and
    I just need You
    Shelter, I need Your shelter
Hide me away from the harm
