Psalm Chapter 3

Pray Today

Acts 5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Fort Worth, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Psalm 3

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

  1. ‭Psalms 3:3-4 NLT‬
[3] But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
[4] I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy mountain.

The Lord is our protector. Thank Lord for your protection from things that could have hurt us that we don’t know about. You are our strength when we are weak. There is no one like you Lord. You deserve all the praise and glory. You hold us up and protect us. You are the glory and lifter of our head.

    ‭Isaiah 59:1 NLT‬
Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.

  2. In the AMP version this chapter is captioned “Morning Prayer of Trust in God”. No matter the situation you are in or find yourself in, calling on the One who can truly save you is key. Many times we take it for granted or it becomes mundane as we start every daily bible reading “JESUS today YOU will SAVE me”! In reality we are declaring who is the one and only true savior of the world, Jesus. Revive us oh Lord!

Romans 11-13 MSG “Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.” It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.”

  3. 6. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Even with ten thousand people against you, with God on your side, you don’t have to be afraid.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

  4. Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

But this does not mean that prayer is no longer necessary. The grace that sustained us last night will not do for today. We need a fresh supply of God’s grace every day. So David comes to the Lord for continuing deliverance, believing that God will strike his enemies on the cheekbone and break their teeth.

  5. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

We all know the Bible stories of trials, trouble, and deliverance. It is when we encounter our own tough times and have victory through them, then the Bible stories have a new and enriched meaning.

  6. 4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I cannot count the number of times that I have been in a place of emotional desolation and cried out for salvation and immediately felt a release of hopelessness and an infilling of faith. Much like David has written all throughout the Book of Psalms where he would seek the face of God for his troubles and by the end came to a conclusion that knew his place with his Lord. God has never left us and he never. Selah

  7. I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me.

Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people. Interlude

    Psalms 3:5‭, ‬8 NLThttps://bible.com/bible/116/psa.3.5-8.NLT

YOU Oh, Lord are my hiding place. My shield, my covering. I find rest in You. You go before me. All victory belongs to You.

  8. Psalm 3:3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Because He is my shield I trust Him and praise Him and thank Him everyday.

    Psalm 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart rejoices, and I give thanks to Him with my song.

To be under God’s shield is to have God as your protector, I trust that God will look out for me and protect me.

    BLESS YOUR PEOPLE

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Regardless of adversaries or adversities SALVATION is of our LORD JESUS. Meaning my response to adversaries and adversities determines my BLESSING from JESUS.

Righteousness prepares us for the BLESSING of the LORD. When we allow JESUS to be our SALVATION or deliverance from our adversaries we walk in, live in the BLESSING of the LORD.

When we ALLOW JESUS to take vengeance on our adversaries then “Thy BLESSING is upon thy PEOPLE”. Thank you JESUS for BLESSING me, my family and The POFW church family.

Psalms 3:1 (KJV) A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

David wrote this Psalm at one of the lowest points of his life. In some KJV Bibles like the e-sword, the Psalm is written with the Psalms context. Notice above in Psalms 3:1 the context is when David is running for his life when his son was trying to kill him. This is truely very sad and we can all learn from David’s attitude that he never gave up trusting in the Lord

  12. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

when no one else has your back, know you will be more then ok with God by your side.

  13. 3 “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.”
    ‭‭

David was in a stressful situation, but he had confidence that God would shield him, be his glory, encourage him and be the lifter of his head. I pray we all have that same confidence in God as David had.

  14. 3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

No matter what the problem is, we can cry out to God and he hears us. We may wonder how it will all work out but with Jesus included in the trial or the problem, we will see that he can and will help us through it. Praise God!

  15. Psalms 3:4-6 (GNT), “4) I call to the LORD for help, and from his sacred hill he answers me. 5) I lie down and sleep, and all night long the LORD protects me. 6) I am not afraid of the thousands of enemies who surround me on every side.”

No matter what you are going through or how many may be against you, when you call on the name of the LORD JESUS, HE will hear you; HE will Protect you; and HE will give you Peace. You don’t have to be afraid.

Psalms 118:6 says, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”

  16. Psalms 3: 1 [ amp] Lord, how are increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.

Trails of the Godly- This shows David was in a period of deep anguish when Absalom ,his son, rebelled. God gave him peace and encouragement, and answered his prayers, David could rest in the Lord.

It’s sad the David son ,was trying to kill him, and rebell against him. David trusted God, and never gave up.

When you or me are in a heavy storms of Life, we can rest assured, that God will take it, and calm that storm down, and give you peace.

    Be Blessed in Jesus !

  17. 3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory [and my honor], and the One who lifts my head.
With my voice I was crying to the Lord,
And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.
    I lay down and slept [safely];
I awakened, for the Lord sustains me.

We don’t have to look any further than Jesus because He is our Rock and our Fortress, a very present help in the time of trouble.

  18. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head

    —— Hallelujah!!

Blessed be the name of the Lord.

    this I speak

    this I believe

    this I declare

    this is the truth

    It is the truth!

He is my shield and the lifter of my head.

  19. “But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; My glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the LORD with my voice, And he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.”

    Amen!!!! Thank you Jesus 🙌🙏🙏🙏

  20. vs-3

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me: my glory, and the lifter up on mine head.

David found courage in realizing what God was to and for him. The phrase “who lifts up my head” is a metaphor for strengthen.

  21. Psalm 3

3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Whatever we need, God is ALWAYS here for us. Some people say they are all alone. With Jesus you are not alone. Our saviour is awesome. Ask and ye shall receive~

Thank you Jesus for this day.

If we looked at the future, we would understand what Revelations has told us, how in the end times so many people will turn from God, mother against daughter, son against father, and vice versa, and all other scenarios where families turn from each other, friends betray one another, government threatens all that don’t take the mark, thousands will stand up against Christians and even kill them. But we are reassured that God will be with us and will never leave us. I would rather die and have lived for Christ, than to never have known Him and die an eternal death. We must not fear man, for man can’t do anything that God does not allow. We must fear God, for He is our living savior.

  23. Laments in Psalms vs1) see Gen 15:1; 1 cor 13:7. vs3-6) …I will NOT be afraid…see Habakkuk 1:3. Ps 10, 63, 69, 74, 79, 120 are other Laments in Ps.

  24. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

No matter who or how many people rise up against us in our life if we trust in him there will always be more with us than with them. Thank you Jesus for being our protector!

  25. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

we must trust Jesus, and He will keep our head lifted. Most days on the way to work, I see accidents and wonder how close that might have been had something happened slightly differently that morning…
