Mark 3

3 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,

8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;

17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.

20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.

32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

  1. And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

I have heard this taught in the way of us bind ing the strong man ,but what if we look at it the other way. As the church being the strong man that us as a church bind ourselfs together and keep strong no evil can break us apart.

  2. 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

This is why as a church, we needed to stay united as one body, for if we are divided against ourself, how are we gonna accomplish the things God has in store for us? We can’t, we have to rely on God and also on each other to help spread the word to other people about the Good News.

Plus noone wants to follow people who squabble among themselves and go their own way, we need to set an example for other people and love our brothers and sisters in Christ and be united together for the same cause: Souls.

  3. 11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

Even the devil & his demons know that Jesus Christ is the Living God and many humans go through life without recognizing the obvious. What took the devil & demons seconds, a men may take eternity with. What a waste of Tim. GET UP, BE BOLD Speak the Truth loudly for Today is the day of SALVATION, NOW IS THE TIME. IN JESUS NAME AMEN.

  4. 13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

Jesus went into the mountain and called unto him his chosen 12 to preach and have the power to demonstrate the miracles of God. If we are going to do the works Jesus wants us to do, we will have to be chosen. There is much work to be done by the church today and we must be busy about our father’s business. But our efforts will be worthless if we do not find our calling and chose to live for God!!!

  5. 35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
Lord give me a hunger for you! Let me do your will!!:)

  6. Position or Promises

Mark 3:5 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
” 5 And having looked round about on them with a righteous indignation, being grieved at the callousness of their hearts, He says to the man, Stretch out your hand at once. And he stretched it out. And his hand was restored to its former state.”

    Isaiah 35:5-6 (KJV Strong’s)
“5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart,
and the tongue of the dumb sing:
for in the wilderness shall waters break out,
    and streams in the desert.”

    Isaiah 29:18 (KJV Strong’s)
” 18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book,
and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.”

Jesus stood in the temple ready to deliver the long awaited prophecies from Isaiah. He was sent to fulfill the law, and restore the people of God. His purpose was salvation through sacrifice.

However the religious elite of the day had gotten tired of waiting. So much that they themselves occupied great positions as somewhat demigods.

Jesus said of them in Matthew 23:5-7 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
” 5 Furthermore, all their works they do with ostentation for the purpose of being contemplated in the admiring glances of men, for they make broad their amulets and enlarge the tassles of their garments. 6 Moreover, they are fond of the most prominent places at the dinners, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 and being accorded deferential respect and regard when they are greeted in the market places, and to be called by men, Rabbi.”

So when the promise shows up anger changes their proud demeanor into disgust. Under the guise of religiosity, and keeping the word of the Lord they become defensive. This is not because of their hearts wanting to uphold the Torah, but rather not wanting to be dethroned.

They made it about themselves and not about the one whom they supposedly served.

We must occupy position knowing God is ultimately the one in charge lest we miss the promises. Our position is never greater than our provider but only equates to levels of servitude in the kingdom.

  7. iLove to eat the Word

    Mark 3:5
    (5) And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

Jesus was angry. I have never really noticed this verse before this morning. Hardness of heart grieves the Lord and causes anger.

26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27Neither give place to the devil. 28Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

  8. Divided we fall

    Mark 3:24
” If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.”

United we stand; divided we fall. Whenever a team is not working together, they aren’t able to do as much as if they were. We must be united in all things lest we fall.

  9. 16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;

    One of the twelve.

We have all been called to do something for the kingdom of God. Yet are you following as close to the man of God as you need to be? Are you afar off in the distance looking in. Or are you looking outward? Even God allowed Judas to follow him even though he knew he would betray him. Follow the man of God. As God has appointed him the shepherd over us.

  10. “I tell you the truth, all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. This is a sin with eternal consequences.” (‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭28-29‬ NLT)

Be careful lil mouthed what you say, be careful lil ears what you hear…

  11. THE FAVOR OF LIVING IN THE WILL OF GOD

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Disobedience is disguised as an attractive alternative, only to be found as an ugly deceptive destiny. The WILL OF GOD is not always attractive, but it is always correct and covered in the FAVOR of GOD. When we PLEASE GOD and walk in HIS ways we are bound to succeed, not only in this life but in eternal life. Paul wrote:

1Thessalonians 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

As we fulfill the will of GOD become part of HIM, we are accepting our adoption into the family of JESUS.

    iRepent
    iObey
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  12. In order to change who we are we must let go of who we are now, what the situation is now, of the way of thinking now. forget what you are for that moment and think of who you want to be, and trust God, let God do what he needs to do to you. But don’t forget to praise him. there might be a hidden blessing.

  13. 4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

God knows the intention of our hearts. The people here were scared thinking Jesus could do evil. They had no faith . Lord My prayer is that every soul will know you and follow you.

  14. Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭35‬ NLT)

I want to be part of Gods family.

  15. 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

If the church is dived against itself it cannot stand. As a church we must come together as one to reach the lost souls.

  16. 13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

Jesus empowered those he called out (leadership) and He equipped them. When we are called of God, He will empower us with the tools necessary to do the task at hand. I must listen for the call daily !

  17. 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

As church we need to set aside our differences, the Kingdom of GOD is not a about you( yes your needed) but, it’s to bring Him glory. We all have different gifts and talents. And we can use them in different areas.

  18. 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

…God has a purpose for everything.

  19. 11, “And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.”

It is so hard for me to understand why people don’t believe in God. Even when unclean spirits saw him, they fell down and confessed who he was. James 2:19b says, “… the devils also believe, and tremble.”

Church, the time is NOW, to go teach and preach to the city of Fort Worth that there is only One God, and His Name is JESUS.

  20. Reaching Jesus

Mary, of all people, was especially chosen by God for a role that, unlike with Judas, could not be “replaced” in that there was only one woman who could carry the Christ child in her womb. Yet we see here at first a seeming denial of her role. Jesus points out that there is more to with walking with God than just position. He differentiates between positional relationship and personal relationship with Him.

    John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

The core the Jesus brings out is our love for Him. No matter how we serve or are honored or recognized, what is more important is our relationship with Him. I am reminded of Mary Magdalene, the outcast who interrupted the party, offended the crowd, and touched the Lord’s heart because of her desperation for Him. Socially, she didn’t have much of any clout, but with the Lord she received favor, blessing, and remembrance. If we want to truly reach Jesus, we must reach with our hearts.

  21. 14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

God see apart 12 good men that he could use for his kingdom.. when he did I’m sure 10 of those 12 never expected to be martyrs for Christ but they were. They simply answered the call and obeyed God. Today God is still looking for men and women who will answer him and take up their cross and lay down their life for him.

  22. “Being grieved for the hardness of their hearts”. The Lord (Jesus) purposed to do good, unfortunately there were fault finders, just as there are today. One that continually finds fault should examine self, even the more if one looks for fault with God, or the man of God. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  23. 7. But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,

    8. And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

People today, just like then, are ready for their lives to be changed; let’s lead them to Him and show them He is the only one that can help them.

  24. And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.” (‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭34-35‬ NKJV)

How bad I want to be called a brother and a friend of God. JESUS I hunger for you!!! I need you. I want to be alrt of you.

I need you. I want to be apart of you.

  26. 11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

Here Jesus is telling the unclean/ evil spirits to not make known to everyone who He really is. Could it be that Jesus didn’t want angles stepping in and doing the work that He created man for? Remember the fallen angles became satan’s evil spirits…

  27. Stretching forth the withered hand is harder than it reads. It’s is faith. It is the knowing that not only will your short comings be found out, but also that you risk exile. Sitting on this side if the scripture it seems like a fairly safe venture, but the actuality of the stretch is harder than reading about it in the bible.

JESUS help me to stretch forth my shortcomings so that my faith can cause your healing. Help me to be bolder to witness. Help me to think less of the opinions if others and more about what The Book proves that you CAN do.

  28. 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

We must pray to keep unity at all times. The greatest attack a house can have is discord from within. When the people are one great things will be achieved

  29. Brethren !!! 31. There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 32. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. 33. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34. And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35. For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!! I PRAISE YOU JESUS I LIFT YOU UP JESUS !!!!! YOU ARE HOLY!!!!

  30. Family is who you make family

34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

I have a wonderful family now, a smart and beautiful wife that gave me such great kids, but it had not always been that way. I grew up with a totally different family setting than Im living in. I wont go into detail on the blog but it wasn’t normal, loving, or even good, but they are still my family. I found myself as a young man thinking of how I was going to make my life different from what was going on in my family. When I thought of a wife I thought of a strong but loving woman that would do what it took to raise a family right. I imagined myself loving my children and spending as much time with them as possible. I am, by the grace of God, living what I would dream of back then. What I didnt think of was this great church that Im a part of now that has become my family that I always would dream about. I found a spiritual father in Pastor Watts that is there when I need him to teach me, guide me, encourage and correct me. I found a spiritual mother in Sister Watts that is always there to do the same. My brothers and sisters here have proven themselves to be with me and there to give a hand to pick me up or even keep me grounded when I need them. I have learned that Family is all in who you allow in your heart. You chose who your family is. Although I would love to have my Johnson family in our church I couldn’t imagine a better family than POFW.
