Deuteronomy 9

1 Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,

2 A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!

3 Understand therefore this day, that the Lord thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the Lord hath said unto thee.

4 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee.

5 Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

6 Understand therefore, that the Lord thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.

7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the Lord thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the Lord.

8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the Lord to wrath, so that the Lord was angry with you to have destroyed you.

9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the Lord made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:

10 And the Lord delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the Lord spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

11 And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the Lord gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant.

12 And the Lord said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.

13 Furthermore the Lord spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

15 So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.

16 And I looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the Lord your God, and had made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the Lord had commanded you.

17 And I took the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands, and brake them before your eyes.

18 And I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.

19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the Lord was wroth against you to destroy you. But the Lord hearkened unto me at that time also.

20 And the Lord was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

21 And I took your sin, the calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the mount.

22 And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibrothhattaavah, ye provoked the Lord to wrath.

23 Likewise when the Lord sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the Lord your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.

24 Ye have been rebellious against the Lord from the day that I knew you.

25 Thus I fell down before the Lord forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the Lord had said he would destroy you.

26 I prayed therefore unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

27 Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:

28 Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because the Lord was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.

29 Yet they are thy people and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest out by thy mighty power and by thy stretched out arm.

  1. 4 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee.

  2. iLove to Grow in the Word

“The LORD was so angry with Aaron that he wanted to destroy him, too. But I prayed for Aaron, and the LORD spared him.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭9:20‬ ‭NLT

I’ve read this scripture several times in the past, but this morning it really stood out and yelled at me.

The thing about it is this, many folks in the church are deceived into thinking they are “getting” away with something…but how can we “get away” from an all knowing God? The only reason some folks haven’t been judged for what they’re doing is because men and women of God have made intercession in the prayer closet for us.

  3. In reading the beginning of this chapter, we must remember Deuteronomy 8:17-18 MSG “If you start thinking to yourselves, “I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine!”—well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today.” There are so many times I can think back and know that it was God’s great mercy and the prayers of so many that spared my life from sure destruction. We must also understand and remember as Pastor reminded us yesterday with John 3:5 KJV “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” You cannot “good deed” yourself into the kingdom; but, we must be born of water and of the Spirit.

  4. If it sounds like a duck, looks like a duck and acts like a duck – it must be a duck.

Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart… but for the wickedness of these nations…

We are never holy enough to deserve what God does for us. He does what He does because He loves us. These nations were destroyed not because of the righteousness of Israel but because they were wicked people. If it sounds like a duck, looks like a duck and acts like a duck – it must be a duck. Good is good, bad is bad and sin is sin.

We have become a nation too afraid to call things as they are. Consider for a moment the prison system. These facilities are no longer called penal institutions they are now called correctional institutions. We no longer punish our criminals; we re-educate them. The law is still referred to as the penal code but I predict the reference may be destined for the cutting floor.

  5. 3. But recognize today that the LORD your God is the one who will cross over ahead of you like a devouring fire to destroy them. He will subdue them so that you will quickly conquer them and drive them out, just as the LORD has promised. NLT

When you go to possess what God has promised you, don’t let your fear of the obstacles ahead hinder you, for God is going ahead of you like a devouring fire. As long as you remain obedient and faithful to Him, you have nothing or no one to fear.

  6. 6 …for thou art a stiffnecked people. 7…ye have been rebellious against the Lord.

People are people and we are too much like the Israelites, stubborn and rebellious against God. We must yield to the leading of the Holy Ghost and follow God’s will.

  7. “I lay down in front of the Lord with my face toward the ground for 40 days and 40 nights. I did it because the Lord had said he would destroy you. I prayed to him. “Lord and King,” I said, “don’t destroy your people. They belong to you. You set them free by your great power. You used your mighty hand to bring them out of Egypt.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭9:25-26‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Intercessory prayer is powerful. This passage of scripture is an encourgement to keep pressing in intrercessory prayer. We have many prodigal sons and daughters coming home. And many that are broken-hearted, captive, blind and bruised. They are depending on the church of the Living God to rise up in intrercessory prayer.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  8. 25 “That is why I threw myself down before the Lord for forty days and nights—for the Lord said he would destroy you.
26 I prayed to the Lord and said, ‘O Sovereign Lord, do not destroy them. They are your own people. They are your special possession, whom you redeemed from Egypt by your mighty power and your strong hand. (NLT)

There are always people watching and praying for us, even at times we don’t realize. I thank God for every man and woman of God that stood in the gap for me when my life wasn’t right with God. Remember where the Lord brought you from, how He spared you total destruction probably because someone was on heir knees praying for you. Let that and verses like this one today, encourage us to be sensitive to the spirit and intercede for those who’s lives hang in the balance.

  9. 3 Today know this: God, your God, is crossing the river ahead of you—he’s a consuming fire. He will destroy the nations, he will put them under your power. You will dispossess them and very quickly wipe them out, just as God promised you would.

  10. 6 U nderstand therefore, that the Lord thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.

7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the Lord thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the Lord.
the Bible says our righteousness is as filthy rags in these verses God reminds his people that even though they are blessed it is not a result of them but of the goodness of God. We must remember every day as we serve the Lord that anything good that we are or that we receive comes from him and we deserve none of it. therefore we should be grateful thankful gracious and show God appreciation through Our lifestyle.

  11. Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee. Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Understand therefore, that the Lord thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people. (‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭9‬:‭4-6‬ KJV)

And this should be a constant reminder to us. It’s not because of our righteousness, but we are Blessed beyond measure because of The mighty GOD that is faithful to His word!!

  12. The blessings and favor of God are not based upon our righteousness.

    Isaiah 64:6

But we are all as an unclean thing,
    and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
    and we all do fade as a leaf;
and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Gods love looks past our uncleannes. We will never be good enough. We are limited beings but we serve a God who is more than enough. He takes our filthy rags and washes us whiter than snow. Gods mercy and righteousness are what gets us through.

    Romans 9:14-16
What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

  13. Intercessory Prayer

    Deut. 9:18-19
    18) And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
    19) For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also.

“I fell down before the LORD —- forty days and forty nights”
The question is “How long is to long?” to stand in the gap and make intersession for lost souls dying in their sins? I prayed for 4 years for my mother, and I am HAPPY to say, that on this passed Wednesday, she Celebrated her 30th birthday in Jesus.

“Long is never to long” when praying for a lost soul in need of salvation.
Never give up but keep on praying and interceding. JESUS hears your prayers!

  14. 12 And the Lord said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.

13 Furthermore the Lord spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

We are carnal by nature, and all it takes is for us to get caught up in the daily routine of life, and let our prayer life, our Word, our faithfulness slip just a day and we begin to see the carnal nature appear. This is why Proverbs 4:23 instructs us to “Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the outflowings of life.”

Everything in life is a “heart matter.” We must daily inspect our heart for “infection” from the carnal nature of man and provide spiritual “antibiotics” when necessary.

  15. GUARD YOUR HEART

4 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee.

Our heart is the birthing place for great FAITH or destructive deception. As we read here; GOD knows every thought of the heart. Whether we are arrogant, deceptive, proud, humble, submissive, resentful or rebellious in our heart GOD knows.

    Wisdom concludes:
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

    JESUS warned:
Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

    Lucifer fell:
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

GUARD YOUR HEART is a WORD of Wisdom and a WORD of Knowledge from the LORD to the body of Christ. In these last days, especially in Revival churches, satan will attempt to deceive the very elect believers. We must be cautious about what we allow our heart to consider and entertain.

  16. have been rebellious against the Lord from the day that I knew you.

While reading this passage of scripture I was reminded of my own life and walk with God as a young person. I was like the children of Israel walking with a great man of God and God was providing but I was too stiffnecked to see all his provision and obey Him when things got hard.

Many times people are so use to living with their bondage that they are blind to the provision of God. They grew up with the bondage they are comfortable with it and they know the bondage. Yet, God is calling them to a place of freedom and prosperity and it is a unfamiliar place so they allow fear to cripple them.

Let us allow a spirit of intercession to grip our hearts to pray for them that they will trust God to lead them out and bring them to a place of promise.

  17. 6 Understand therefore, that the Lord thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.

7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the Lord thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the Lord.

How many times did God bless me in ways that I didn’t deserve, I know that I have a stiff neck at times, and I have ways that God don’t like at all, I am constantly repenting because my flesh, my mouth, but everyday God allows me to see another day, he allows me New Grace, New Mercy every day, He forgives me, He Loves me! HE IS A MIGHTY, AWESOME GOD, THERE IS NO ONE GREATER!

  18. 18 And I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the Lord was wroth against you to destroy you. But the Lord hearkened unto me at that time also.
20 And the Lord was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

Moses fasted 80 days and 80 nights!!! JESUS and we are fainting for fasting one day!!! Oh JESUS help us DADDY!!!
Give unto us your heart and renew our mind DADDY. LORD give unto us MORE passion for souls a greater Desire to seek your face until we are completely consumed With YOUR Love!!! Thank you JESUS FOR YOUR MERCY!!!

  19. 3 Know right now that the LORD your God, who is crossing over before you, is an all-consuming fire! He will wipe them out! He will subdue them before you! Then you will take possession of their land, eliminating them quickly, exactly as the LORD told you. 4 Once the LORD your God has driven them out before you, don’t think to yourself, It’s because I’m righteous that the LORD brought me in to possess this land. It is instead because of these nations’ wickedness that the LORD is removing them before you. 5 You aren’t entering and taking possession of their land because you are righteous or because your heart is especially virtuous; rather, it is because these nations are wicked—that’s why the LORD your God is removing them before you, and because he wishes to establish the promise he made to your ancestors: to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. CEB
It’s nothing we do, it is all in God’s timing. Don’t be bragging on yourself..Let God guide you and he will bless you. People don’t want to hear how you did this you did that God will bless. If you are bragging about what you did or have done then you have gotten your praise. Just do as God wants you to do and he will guide you thru.

  20. 6Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.

Moses has encouraged and lifted the people up from the fear that may have been holding them back from possessing the promised land. The Anakites are bigger, harder and a more advanced nation. Like David when he went against Goliath it was in the name of the Lord and the victory was His. It’s “not by might not by power but by my Spirit” (Zech 4:6) that any victory comes. Defeat is for those who opose God and make themselves His enemy. When we claim the victory to of been by own own might and take the Lord’s glory we make ourselves his enemy and subject to the same judgment made. The glory belongs to the Lord and we are blessed to be His people chosen of Him to walk in his will.

  21. 3 Understand therefore this day, that the Lord thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the Lord hath said unto thee.

  22. 3 Understand therefore this day, that the Lord thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the Lord hath said unto thee.

God doesn’t do things because of our “goodness”. All of God’s work is for His glory, because he is worthy!

  23. 24 Ye have been rebellious against the Lord from the day that I knew you.

We must be thankful for the men and women of God who daily intercede for our souls that we may be saved!!

  24. 3 Understand therefore this day, that the Lord thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the Lord hath said unto thee.

Don’t mistake the blessings of God for his approval. Although we know he blesses those whom he loves and is pleased with. If he has promised something he will do it. For God does not lie. Now that’s not saying that if your being blessed that you’re doing wrong. But remember God cannot go back on a promise. Whoa be unto us that we think that we are blessed because we deserve it. Keep yourself under submission.

  25. WHO WILL STAND BEFORE THE PANTHER OF FOR WORTH?

    Deuteronomy 9
1 Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,

WHO WILL STAND BEFORE THE MILLIONAIRES OF THIS CITY?

We are about to posses the City of FORT WORTH, and let us NOT FORGET when we do, THAT IS GOD IS GOING BEFORE US AS A CONSUMING FIRE.
God is opening doors, braking door locks, braking chains, God is making a way for us to posses this city of FT. Worth.
We must unify in prayer and pray for one another, the Panther is not happy for we are in her territory.
So we must be in UNITY and pray for our Leaders of our church so that God uses them to speak the truth to our lives and lead us according to God’s will for his church.

Let us ALL STAND BEFORE THE PANTHER OF FORT WORTH, AND POSSES THIS LAND!!!

  26. 6) understand therefore that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness for thou art a stiffnecked people

  27. “After the Lord your God has done this for you, don’t say in your hearts, ‘The Lord has given us this land because we are such good people!’ No, it is because of the wickedness of the other nations that he is pushing them out of your way. It is not because you are so good or have such integrity that you are about to occupy their land. The Lord your God will drive these nations out ahead of you only because of their wickedness, and to fulfill the oath he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
    Deuteronomy 9:4-5 NLT
    http://bible.com/116/deu.9.4-5.NLT

Every victory we have had in our lives is not because we are good people and we deseved it. No we have not earned it, its because we serve a merciful God that always keeps His Promises. Promises that he has made even before we existed. He is true to His word. This proves that his Word is eternal.

  28. 9This happened when I was on the mountain receiving the tablets of stone inscribed with the words of the covenant that the LORD had made with you. I was there for forty days and forty nights, and all that time I ate no food and drank no water.

It only took 40 days for the Israelites to return to their old ways of worshipping other gods. This shows the importance of having a leader. A leader has to be in the people’s presence and communicate with them. A job, home or church with out a leader will fail very quickly.

  29. 3 But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deut. 31:8

“I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars. Isiah 45:2

But you will not go out in haste, Nor will you go as fugitives; For the LORD will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard. Isiah 52:12

Jesus goes before us in everything and yet personally talking I worry about things? When his own Word says to not worry but to pray! Prayer is everything, don’t let the guard of the Lord leave due to our lack of faith. Believe that the Lord is going before us making places smooth and being there for us. Jesus is there with us, we just have to call on His name and trust in Him.

  30. Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee.

The word of God (Jesus) is very clear of who and why. Because of who (Jesus) and why (his righteousness) one can be; blessed, healed, forgiven, set free, and so much more. Dear God, let me not become high minded. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  31. “Furthermore the Lord spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people”. The Lord had enough and would have destroyed them, but Moses. Serious consideration should be given as too how the Lord sees it, and not self. God help us not to be stubborn, prideful, and rebellious, in Jesus name.

  32. Deuteronomy 9:20
20 The Lord was so angry with Aaron that he wanted to destroy him, too. But I prayed for Aaron, and the Lord spared him.

The only thing standing between Aaron and utter destruction from the righteous indignation of God was the prayers from the man of God.

The Lord was ready to cast Aaron into eternal torment because of his disobedience, leading the people into rebellion, and lying to Moses.

Never underestimate the importance of Pastor’s prayers. Sometimes they may be the only thing keeping you from judgment.

  33. 20 And the Lord was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

  34. 5 Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

6 Understand therefore, that the Lord thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.

Here’s the problem with society. We (I) think that we can deceive GOD. How can you (me) deceive and omnipotent, all seeing GOD. YOU CAN’T, so why even try. Yeah you can deceive man into believing what ever, but to what avail. Why try to cover the truth, GOD wanted to destroy the Hebrews for turning from him and Aaron too. He didn’t though because Moses interceded for them. Same thing applies with GOD today. He sees those that are trying to deceive Him and wants to destroy them, but we as a church have interceded for those that GOD wants to take off this planet. The people don’t know it yet, but they will know and feel it when that trumpet sounds.

Every Knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that you are Lord and Savior.

You can never hide or run from GOD. Yeah you can try, but it will not work. There is no place in the universe that you can run to. Learn the truth and then repent all lands and be baptized in the name of Jesus, filled with the Holy Ghost. GET THE FIRE OF GOD IN YOUR (MY) SOUL!!!!

  35. Moses reminded them in almost every verse of this chapter, of their unrighteousness and how the land was given unto them by GOD because of the wickedness of the other people .
Perhaps it would help in keeping us with a humble and contrite heart of we remembered where GOD brought us out of?

  36. 1 Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,

We cannot say that we are destined for anything less than greatness because God has established or victory before we even get into battle!

  37. 18 And I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.

19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the Lord was wroth against you to destroy you. But the Lord hearkened unto me at that time also.

20 And the Lord was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

    Don’t underestimate your pastors prayers!

Pastor just preached to us POP, Prayer Outreach Praise. A life style that we can all see he lives by. I can imagine him on his face warring for us especially the prodigals. Our friends and family that once were, that are not. We should follow this example, taking prayer into our own hands for all the fallen, strayed souls that need someone to stand in the gap for them.

Let’s join up with our pastor and pray. When do we stop? Until something happens!

  38. This chapter recalls the idolatry with the golden calf and the intercession of Moses for the people. Moses’ intercession is an example of how to intercede on the behalf of sinners. Imagine what could happen if the collective body of Christ could reach a place of intercession like Moses did. We could turn this city upside down.

  39. God is with us through every victory and every trial. Who are we to ignore the things He asks us to do? Without God we are nothing. Take some time to count your blessings and listen to His commandments.

God is good even when we don’t deserve it he still blesses us. We can’t forget where he situations he took us out of. God don’t owe us anything, we owe him everything.

  41. 20 And the Lord was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

    ………..
    James 5:16
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Do not think that your intercession for some one is taken lightly. There are many that need the prayers of the saints that none should perish but that all shall come to repentance. Never stop praying for the backslider or the sinner it is your prayers that can keep some from being destroyed. God is a prayer answring Lord

  42. “It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you go in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD your God drives them out from before you, and that He may fulfill the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
    ‭‭(Deuteronomy‬ ‭9:5‬ ‭NKJV)

Moses represents the strength of the enemies they were now to encounter. This was to drive them to God, and engage their hope in him. He assures them of victory, by the presence of God with them. He cautions them not to have the least thought of their own righteousness, as if that procured this favour at God’s hand. In Christ we have both righteousness and strength; in Him we must glory, not in ourselves, nor in any sufficiency of our own.

  43. “Understand therefore this day, that the Lord thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the Lord hath said unto thee. Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭9:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  44. “Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee. Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭9:4-5‬ ‭KJV

More things are a heart issue than we think. Sometimes things begin to go sideways because we have something in our heart. The heart of a man affects everything. We need to guard our hearts and not allow ourselves to become this way. So many issues are matters of he heart. We have to have a pure heart before God.

  45. 25 Thus I fell down before the Lord forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the Lord had said he would destroy you.
26 I prayed therefore unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

Thank God that someone prayed for me that I would come to the knowledge of this truth and salvation. We have a city before us, a community surrounding our new church. We must make intercession for these souls and claim them for the kingdom of God so they can come out of darkness and into Hid marvelous light!

  46. 4 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the Lord thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the Lord hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord doth drive them out from before thee.

I read this and am reminded of all my shortcomings, and yet He is still faithful. He still forgives me.

  47. 13 Furthermore the Lord spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

Don’t refuse or ignore instruction from the people that are trying to watch out for you spiritually. The people of Israel won’t listen to Moses when he tried to lead them the right direction and it ended up stirring the fury of God.

  48. v 19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was worth against you to destroy you. But the LORF hearkened unto me at the time also

So thankful for HIS MERCY AND GRACE.
” The prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16

The LORD LOVES the righteous and is always ready to hear their prayer.
Living right outside the prayer room is powerful prayer in the prayer room .

  49. Deuteronomy 9:23 And when the Lord sent out from Kadesh Barnea he said Go up and take possession of the land I have given you. But you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God. You did not trust him or obey him. You have been rebellious against the Lord ever since I have known you. I laid prostrate before the Lord those 40 days and 40 nights because the Lord had said that he would destroy you. I prayed to the Lord and said Sovereign Lord do not destroy your people your own inheritance that you redeemed by your great power and brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand. Remember your servants Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Over look the stubbornness of this people their wickedness and their sin. Otherwise the country from which you brought us will say. Because the Lord was not able to take them into the land he had promised them and because he hated them he brought them out to put them to death in the wilderness. But they are your people your inheritance that you brought out by your great power and your outstretched arm.
