2 Chronicles 36

1 Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.

2 Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

3 And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

4 And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

5 Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God.

6 Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

7 Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

9 Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.

10 And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the Lord, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

11 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

12 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the Lord.

13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.

14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the Lord which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

17 Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

18 And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.

19 And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

21 To fulfil the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.

  1. Verses 11-14 MSG “Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he started out as king. He was king in Jerusalem for eleven years. As far as God was concerned, he was just one more evil king; there wasn’t a trace of contrition in him when the prophet Jeremiah preached God’s word to him. Then he compounded his troubles by rebelling against King Nebuchadnezzar, who earlier had made him swear in God’s name that he would be loyal. He became set in his own stubborn ways—he never gave God a thought; repentance never entered his mind. The evil mindset spread to the leaders and priests and filtered down to the people—it kicked off an epidemic of evil, repeating the abominations of the pagans and polluting The Temple of God so recently consecrated in Jerusalem.” We must protect our mindset (the established set of attitudes held by someone) and stay focused on Jesus. Your attitude (a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person’s behavior) will attribute to your actions.

Colossians 3:1-4 AMP says “Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, [a]appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

  2. The evil mindset spread to the leaders and priests and filtered down to the people—it kicked off an epidemic of evil, repeating the abominations of the pagans and polluting The Temple of God so recently consecrated in Jerusalem.
    2 Chronicles 36:14 MSG

This is the order in which we The Church should be functioning , except their mindset was evil and ours should be contrary to this!!!

  3. So…All I can say for this chapter is Wow! In chapter 35 Josiah was brought to an end because he butted into someone else’s business. He had built a great kingdom in the fear of the LORD, but because of his mistake look at everything that happens after that! Neighboring nations come and do what they want, the house of the Lord is ransacked and perverted, the city and temple are destroyed and whoever doesn’t die is taken into captivity for 70 years. What a mess. Josiah didn’t consult with his man of God, he stepped out. As leaders in the Church we can never think so highly of ourselves that we can make such bold moves without consulting our man of God. We step out of the spiritual order of things. When things are out of order it brings chaos and destruction. But even through all this God still has compassion on his people and after the 70 years He moves on an unsaved person to save His nation. Jesus, Your mercies are new every morning. Let us walk in Your peace, Your love, and in Your laws and statutes all the days of our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.

  4. Jeremiah tried so hard to bring the word of God and warn the leaders of Judah but it finish d in chaos. Who is the Jeremiah of your life? Are you listening? Or your life in chaos? May the Lord place a Jeremiah in all of our lives and may He order our steps by His word so we may be in His will for ever change n Jesus Name Amen

  5. 15 The Lord, the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple.
16 But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the Lord’s anger could no longer be restrained and nothing could be done. (NLT)

God is warning us left and right when we come near to trouble. Are we listening and heeding the warnings or are we too prideful to even lend an ear?

  6. iLove to Grow in the Word
1Then the people of the land took Josiah’s son Jehoahaz and made him the next king in Jerusalem.
2Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months.
3Then he was deposed by the king of Egypt, who demanded that Judah pay 7,500 pounds of silver and 75 pounds of gold as tribute.

Notice who now has the influence over the entire nation of Judah…yes, it’s the king of Egypt. A reminder of yesterday’s blog and we will remember that Josiah picked a fight with this king of Egypt. The consequences of the mistakes of Josiah are now made manifest by having to be under tribute to Egypt.

  7. 12 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the Lord.

Unfortunately the new King was foolish and did not honor God or God’s people.
His biggest mistake was not humbling himself before God and the prophet. That always equals destruction. Secondly look at the fact that the people of God went as the leadership went. When the leaders served and honored God the people did too but when leaders stopped serving God the people turned away also.

  8. “The Babylonians set God’s temple on fire. They broke down the wall of Jerusalem. They burned all of the palaces. They destroyed everything of value there.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭36:19‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

It is so sad to have read how King Solomon held back nothing when the temple is being built. How everyone had a part of it and gave and sacrificed if themselves. And now to see the enemy come in and destroy all that hard work. After reading this chapter 2 things come to mind.
    1. Our Christian lifestyle isn’t a one time thing. It is something that we must maintain every day. It cannot be a part-time lifestyle for us. God is coming soon and we need to be Christians all the time and with every area of our lives. And Roman 6 says “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” GOD FORBID that we ever stop maintaining Christian lifestyle.
2 The word of God is so important. I’m so thankful that I live in a country but I can freely open my Bible at anytime and anywhere and hear directly from God. The Word is what helps us maintain the lifestyle that God wants us to have. The Word cuts us! The Word heals us! The Word guides us! The Word protects us! His Word is my everything. My prayer is that all Christians would go back to their first love. Fall in love with His Word like never before.

I can hear Mama Chennault say ” do you not read your Word? Read the Word” Read it means to understand what you’re reading and to apply the information to our lives. Mama Chennault was mightily used by God but more than that she had one of the greatest relationships with the King that I have ever known.

  9. 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

This chapter is full of chaos, down to mocking the messengers if God…..it sounds like the times we are ,living in. We must keep guard over our lives less we too get caught up in the folly of this world and the message it is sending out chaos. Oh but we have a peace that on,y God can bring if we will daily walk in His presence. We have the answer for this world just as Jeremiah the weeping prophet had….this is why it is so important to allow the peace of God to reign in our own homes so that hen we walk out into this world people will be drawn to what we have living inside of us. Don’t be afraid to speak peace in the midst of all the chaos that is going on.
We are the salt to this world who can we make thirsty for what we have. I am sure there is at least one person in your life and probably many more. There is a remedy to all the chaos it is Jesus and we must proclaim Him before it is too late!

  10. 22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.

Looking at all the kings that reigned after Josiah and all the evil they did, the chapter finishes off with a secular king over Persia to make that announcement over Judah and give glory to God. Not one king could humble himself and let God be with him but a King over a heathen nation did…

  11. It’s just so said what all these kings did the worst part is god send Prophets to warn them and the refuse to listen. They mock them many of the king had a chance to humble there self but refuse to one of them took on the name of the lord. And still. Did evil.
As we wrap up this book. I realize that all that all the king that were evil they abused their power they did what they want to do many time in this book god continue to warn them. But they never listen, i believe there was a few that humble their self.

  12. 15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

I can’t even imagine getting to the place where I could not repent and make things right with God, yet this people have ignored every warning, every plea from God to turn back to him.
    Psalm 95:8King James Version (KJV)
8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
And again in Hebrews 3:7-11New King James Version (NKJV)
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,In the day of trial in the wilderness,9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. 10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’
To enter his rest we must keep on this path, keeping our hearts soft and attitudes humbled, serving him according to the his word.

  13. 15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

God already knew that these ungodly people were not going to accept his word and regect him but he still have given then a chance to change. That is the kind of god we serve… He is a merciful God!

  14. 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

17 Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

When you reject the word of God and mock the people of God, there will be consequences to those actions. So remember if people are mocking you for your faith and how you follow God, God will defend his name, he will deal with them in his timing.

  15. THE HOPELESS END OF REBELLION

GOD is LOVE! He loves people so much that his mercy allows us a space of time to repent of our sin. We read of a corrupt system in perilous times, much like what we witness happening today, wicked works, trouble, rebellion, desecration of the house of the LORD.

GOD is sending messengers with messages for the Church, such like today. Calling for prayer, repentance and revival. However, as we witness at The POFW, not everyone is receiving the prophetic words. Many are mocking the men of GOD by refusing and rejecting their words, multitudes are offended by the words of TRUTH and despise the prophetic words of the coming judgement of GOD. While others are misusing the words of the prophets for personal control or popularity with certain groups to cover up specific sins.

However the WORD of the LORD says UNTIL the wrath of the LORD arose, then there was no remedy.

Hear the call today, do not wait until it is too late. Backslider come home, wayward child of GOD, select your path clearly. Return to the LORD with all your heart. The day is coming where there is no remedy.

  16. 15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

God called men to reach out to his people, and they were used and abused. So you want to be used by God? You want to be called of God? Gods favor was on the messengers and he sent them out of love and mercy for his people but there was no favor of man. Ministry must be God called and done for the heart of God, not for the lime light or to be raised up before men. The favor of God does not always abide by the favor of men, to accept ministry is to accept that.

  17. 7 Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

It hurts my heart to see God given talent taken from the Church and used in the word for wordily wealth and ambition. God gives each of abilities: singing, playing, good administration, teaching, preaching, organizing and knowledge to grow in our professions. However, it is wrong to use those talents and giftings to benefit ourselves through worldly gain and not put them to use to effectively grow the Kingdom of God.

  18. “And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭36:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God has shown great mercy and has sent many warnings through His word and the man of God, it is now in our hands wether to listen and obey or not!

  19. 15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
Be careful who you are mocking when God sends someone your way. The way you handle God’s word and people is going to go down the line to how your kids and family handle things. People are watching you, your family is watching you. You never know when that one time you may be having a bad day and say something and that one person hears you and falls out with God. We have to be careful not to be a stumbling block for anyone.

  20. In this chapter we see a warning about being careful of Mocking God! The bible also clearly states that we are NOT to pick and choose what we want to follow! We must follow all the laws! We have laws in place for protection and safety! For example, traffic laws to stop at a red light, to stop at cross walks, etc. In the bible we have laws and rules for dressing. For example, no one is to wear necklaces, etc. unless your married you can wear a wedding ring! For example we are called to live a pleasing acceptable life unto the LORD! The laws that were established in the old testament as well as the new testament still apply! The whole book applies! When we begin to place God into a box of picking and choosing, we loose out on the blessings he has for us! Be careful of allowing a spirit of picking and choosing to come forth unto you! We must be able to look at people and tell them they need the Holy Ghost! We must be able to look at people and proclaim the good news that JESUS is alive and well! We must preach about baptism in Jesus Name! We must preach about the Holy Ghost! We must preach about Repentance! Remember the ways of the LORD are not our ways! Remember the bible says to go and make disciples! Very blessed to be connected to this church as you all go and make disciples! Bro and Sis Morgan teach Discipleship Classes, known as Impact Class here at POFW! If your not plugged into Impact Class you need to be! It opened up my understanding to the word of God more deeper! POFW you all on the verge of a growth level like never before! Why? Because you all believe in preach and live the apostolic lifestyle! You all are not afraid to preach! You all are not afraid to outreach! Keep obeying the commandments of the LORD! Keep obeying the laws of the LORD! Remember what you SOW you also REAP!

  21. What will the scrolls detail about our lives?

We have read about leaders who did good in the sight of the Lord and leaders who have done evil in the sight of the Lord. Here Jehoiakim acts were described as abominations. We live in a state of grace. When we ask forgiveness for our sins the Lord no longer remembers them. I wonder if there are things in our lives that we are not willing to repent over?

We know that repentance is to turn around, leave things behind or leave things alone and start a new life from that moment forward never again to engage in the sinful activities. Are there things in our lives that we are not willing to let go of? Are there idols in our lives that manipulate time that we could be spending with God or reading His word?

Again; what will the scrolls detail about our lives?

  22. 23Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.

  23. 2 Chroniclse 36:15-16 (NLT)
    15) The LORD, the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple.
    16) But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the LORD’S anger could no longer be restrained and nothing could be done.

mocked – teased, taunted, laughed at, made fun of, ridiculed
despised – to feel contempt, detested, hated, loathed, abhored, disliked
scoffed – mocked, ridiculed, taunted, belittled

Be Careful – how you Treat or Speak About the Man of God, and Take Heed – to the Word that he has to speak.
If you don’t be careful or take heed – God’s anger will come down on you.

  24. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him. although the physical things that might represent God will diminish. (church building ) God still exist and he will always find someone that loves his law.and be a vessel to speak out in rightousness john soliz

  25. 2 Chronicles 36:15 (NLT)
15 The Lord, the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple.

God cares about his people and his temple. Not only his people but the way of salvation. Because of the rebellion of the people the temple was under attack. Items were stolen, and sacrifice was stunted. This meant as long as the temple was not being used the people’s sins were not being rolled forward.

I’m thankful to serve a God who not only cares for us but also that we make it to heaven.

  26. “And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.” The word of God (Jesus) records that he “stiffened his neck”. What ones believes as stubbornness, may not be too another; however what the Judge (God) sees is final. Dear God, help us not stiffen our neck towards you. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  27. “But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.” They were unwise in not obeying the word of the Lord. In addition the word of the Lord should never be mocked or taken lightly. God help us that we would never take your word for granted, in Jesus name.

  28. The Lord , the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple. But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the Lord ’s anger could no longer be restrained and nothing could be done. So the Lord brought the king of Babylon against them. The Babylonians killed Judah’s young men, even chasing after them into the Temple. They had no pity on the people, killing both young men and young women, the old and the infirm. God handed all of them over to Nebuchadnezzar.
    2 Chronicles 36:15‭-‬17 NLT

The Lord will send a message of warning. He loves his people so much that is slow to anger and great in mercy. However, there is a point where he says enough. And he will use the people and things of the world to bring judgement. Dont be so quick to blame the devil on all things going wrong. It may just be that one has a kingdom problem.

  29. “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭36:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When the Lord gives a word to someone it will come to pass no matter who he has to sway to make it come to pass. The king was God’s servant in this case and he did what God wanted because there was a prophesy to be fulfilled.

  30. 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

So true even today. Today there are churches around the world, that they are paying people to lie and say they had some ailment and through prayer or by some preacher laying his hand upon them, healed them, rather than their own faith. Since we have the truth though, we really need totruly display Jesus in everything we do.

  31. v22-23 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put i in writing, saying,
Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms o the earth the LORD God of heaven had given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah.
Who is there among you of all His people? May the LORD his God be with him, and let go up!

Thank you JESUS for your gracious love continually seeking ways to interact with HIS creation.
Thank you LORD for choosing to enter into agreements with a sinful humanity, because of the cross we can live and be free.

  32. 14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the Lord which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

There was a widespread storm of rebellion sweeping the nation from one leaders decision. The choices that are made without seeking council can be disastrous. He will allow those who stray to fall away until they are ready to repent. This is terrible to see what the children of God have become polluting thr house of the Lord.

  33. 23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.

“God had promised the restoring of the captives, and the rebuilding of Jerusalem, at the end of seventy years; and that time to favour Zion, that set time, came at last. Though God’s church be cast down, it is not cast off; though his people be corrected, they are not abandoned; though thrown into the furnace, they are not lost there, nor left there any longer than till the dross be separated.”

  34. 13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.

Jesus!!! My heart hurts when people deny the Lord due to things that shouldn’t matter to us. The devil has so many people bound, blinded, and so deep in their addiction that they are willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want. This world is full of evil deeds but here we are being that light to those that truly are looking for God. Lead me daily Lord to those that are hungry and crying out for you Jesus!!!!

  35. 21 To fulfil the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

What God speaks will come forth. The blessings as well as the curses.

  36. 2 Jehoahaza was twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months.

Wow, only reigned for 3 months, along with another king who also reigned for 3 months. They had in common of doing evil before God. This shows God can quickly remove someone from position for doing wrong. Follow God and grow in him, then God will bless you for many years…

  37. 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

    Beware of mocking the messenger

When the man of God comes sent my God with a messange and he is mocked and unreceived by his people, the wrath of God is kindled over his people. It’s not the mocking of his servant that he angers about, but because in rejecting the messenger they reject him. Preacher do not go before the people on their own but by the command of God.

God has chose man to speak to his people, do not despise your preacher.
