Job 14

1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

3 And doth thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?

4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.

7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:

12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.

13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?

17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.

18 And surely the mountains falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.

19 The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.

20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.

21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.

22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.

  1. This chapter is captioned “Job Speaks of the Finality of Death” in the AMP. As Job said in Job 1:21 He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” The end of this verse also reminded me of the song lyrics from “We’ve Come to Praise Him”:

    We’ve come to praise Him
    We’ve come to praise Him
    We’ve come to praise Him
    And bless His holy Name

    Make a joyful noise
    Unto the Lord
    Make a joyful noise
    Unto the Lord

    You ought to praise the Lord
    While you have the chance
    You ought to praise Him
    You ought to praise Him
    You ought to praise Him
    And lift His holy Name

  2. 1. Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

    James 4:14
    Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

    Life is a few days of trouble a wise man once said
    But I’ll not complain; I’m sheltered, I’m clothed, and I’m fed
    But many’s the trial my wants and my dreams put me through
    And the only real peace that I have, dear Lord, is in You

    The only real peace that I have, dear Lord, is in You

    The only real peace that I have, dear Lord, is in You

    With all life’s temptations, I need You, I know I do

    Cause the only real peace that I have, dear Lord, is in You

  3. This chapter to me is telling us about death and hope . We are sinners it dates all the way back to adam and eve. But there is also hope . It also tells me that sometimes you have to be cut down to sprout again . Which is to me life . We need to be cut down to sprout again . And give ourself to God . Let him work in our lives.

  4. 14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

    1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

  5. 1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

    2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

    We have but one life to live, and it’s not long and has many obstacles. We have three options: to live it out in self pleasure, mope around and feel sorry about our issues, or live the purpose God gave us and allow our troubles to be a blessing to others.

  6. Until My Change Comes

    14 “If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”

    14-17 MSG
    “If we humans die, will we live again? That’s my question.
    All through these difficult days I keep hoping,
    waiting for the final change—for resurrection!
    Homesick with longing for the creature you made,
    you’ll call—and I’ll answer!
    You’ll watch over every step I take,
    but you won’t keep track of my missteps.
    My sins will be stuffed in a sack
    and thrown into the sea—sunk in deep ocean.”

    My end goal is Heaven and regardless of the troubles here on earth I’m patiently waiting until my change comes. For when He calls I will answer and take flight. Yet while I’m here I can take courage in knowing that He gives me seasons and each season will come to an end. So while I’m in a season of mourning or hurt I can hold onto His Word and wait until my change comes. In times of great Joy and favor I stock up for the seasons of drought.

    Yet through it all “I’m gonna put a praise on it!”

    Wow, our days on the face of this earth are surely short. So much we take for granted. We are here for a purpose, we must Go and make disciples while there is yet time. Thank You Jesus for the opportunity to be alive in the land of the living. Give us the tongue of the learned that we might speak a word in season to them that are weary.

  8. Hide and Seek

    13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

    Job wanted to be hidden until he was over his trials. He wanted God to remeber him and his afflictions. Many times when we are going through a trial we would rather hide away so no one can see our pain, our questions to God our confused thoughts. I do not believe this is what God wanted from Job nor us. How will the world know that our God is really a true Gid if they do not see the strength that on,y God can give during our times of afflictions. If it never rained we would never know the Betty of a rainbow.
    If we never have any pain we would never know the healing touch of the Great Physcain. Our hope is in God and through each trial and afflictions we as the people of God must reflect the beauty of His sustaining and healing touch. The world looks for it in a bottle or a relationship, but we can show them where our strength comes from. We cannot hide for the world seeks after a peace that we through Christ can share with them.
    Don’t play hide and seek. Stay in the light and let His love shine through every day.

  9. 7For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
    8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

    Let you dream GrOw.

    Don’t let it die and rot. Let it expand and grow. Let it go and watch it. See what God can and will do through a willing vessel. Know that he is God.

  10. STAY PLANTED

    7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
    8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

    HOPE Is for the future. When we HOPE for something we anticipate its outcome. Job shares us a revealing illustration for HOPE. A tree that has been cut down, will GROW again as long as it remains PLANTED.

    Christians destroy their immediate HOPE when they “change churches”. GOD uses HIS WORD and HIS MAN to prune or cut us down, and if we will remain planted we will GROW again. That is our HOPE.

    By Job comparing himself to a tree, he finds himself in the position of the tree. He has been cut down, but is grasping and searching for HOPE.

    Job found his HOPE in a TREE just like all of us. That TREE was on Calvary.

    Do not despise the pruning of the LORD.

    Romans 11:21-22 MSG
    If God didn’t think twice about taking pruning shears to the natural branches, why would he hesitate over you? He wouldn’t give it a second thought. Make sure you stay alert to these qualities of gentle kindness and ruthless severity that exist side by side in God—ruthless with the deadwood, gentle with the grafted shoot. But don’t presume on this gentleness. The moment you become deadwood, you’re out of there.

  11. Today chapter it talk about death
    How short our lifes our
    Because our lifes are so short why worried about the little things why fight fight battle that god has already fought

    Giving ourselves to the lord

  12. 7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

    8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

    With God there is always hope. He is so amazing that He will take something that is completely dead and bring life back to it! It’s amazing how God does that. As long as we don’t give up there is hope! Let’s trust and hope in the Lord!

  13. Roots

    8 “Though its roots grow old in the earth and its stump dies in the dry soil,
    9 Yet at the scent of water [the stump of the tree] will flourish and bring forth sprigs and shoots like a seedling.

    Roots are crucial for nutrient intake for plants. Leaves play a vital role as well but not as important as the roots. Roots bring nutrients from the earth into the system of the plant and most important: store nutrients during dormant periods. We are similar to trees in that our foundational relationship with God can be considered our roots. Storms may come and break parts of us. Times may come as with Job and our leaves may wither and fall away and we may feel dead and dormant.

    What are our roots tapped into? Here in Texas, nearly everyone knows about Mesquite trees. What one might not know is the root system of these trees. Having spent many hours removing these trees from hay fields as a youth I know the root system of these trees. The taproot of a Mesquite grows straight down. It continues to grow until it finds moisture. Some Mesquite tap roots have been recorded as 65 to 175 feet deep/long. The largest trees in Texas (Oak) only have tap roots 15 feet deep.

    I must strive to tap my roots into the word of God. No matter what is going on in my life, the answers are in the Word. I am thankful for the foundation that I have but I want to continually grow deeper in the Word.

  14. Oh Remember Me!

    13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

    Remember me, how many times do we fine ourselves in situations and then go running to God and begin the bargaining prayer. You know the one that usually begins with God I’m sorry I haven’t spend anytime with you
    But please remember me, if you do this I promise I will change, I will go to church more, I will tithe, I will do everything you say. Then we forget our promise after
    He remember us. Then you have the one that does everything right by God but
    the rains and storm comes and they yell Remember Me God for I am your child please come to my rescue. Why must we go through the storms of life Matt 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Either way may we have peace that HE DOES REMEMBER US ! !!!! Deut 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

  15. Were born into this world beautiful and innocent like a flower, but the older we get the more mischief we get into. So were slowly fading, some faster than others. Some of us find God before others, before scars on your heart are to deep. Some of us find God because the scars on our hearts are to deep and theres no one else to turn to. 7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. 8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
    Were all given a chance, a choice to better ourselves and the people around us.
    Love you all

  16. Job 14:1 (ESV Strong’s)
    Job Continues: Death Comes Soon to All
    1 “Man who is born of a woman
    is few of days and full of trouble.

    Not to sound brash, but this scripture says to me “get over it, and get on with it.”

    Trouble can’t be avoided. Challenge, heartache, problems, and trials are all part of life.

    Instead of letting the inevitable sink you into depression, and sadness turn it around and use it as fuel for the cause.

    Life is temporary, and the earth will pass away. All that matters is eternity for you, your loved ones; and everyone else you meet. We can’t avoid trouble but we can help others escape an eternity of trouble.

    With right perspective we can get through it, and GO.

  17. MSG – If we humans die, will we live again? That’s my question.
    All through these difficult days I keep hoping,
    waiting for the final change—for resurrection!

    What a promise we who have been born again have, waiting for that blessed day of resurrection, when those who are dead in the grave will rise first then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up to ever be with the Lord.

    We can’t get caught up in this world, because we have promise of another world. One where there is no death, we will never grow old, there will be no pain and no sorrow, forever we will be with our beloved Savior.

  18. For there is hope of a tree, If it be cut down, that it will sprout again, And that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, And the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will bud, And put forth boughs like a plant. (‭Job‬ ‭14‬:‭7-9‬ ASV)

    If there is hope for a tree that has been cut down, why would I be any different from it. As I stay connected to GOD, then there is continual hope for me!! It’s the ‘scent of water’ that will allow me to bud, and put forth (GrOw) like a plant.
    Praise The LORD, I am encouraged by His word!!!! Because with out Him, I am just a dead man walking!!

  19. Life will chop, cut and wear us down. If we stand firm hold our ground God will keep us rooted. I go through battles with myself daily. And at times want to give up. I continually feel the prayers of my church. And because I’m rooted and nothing can pull me up by my roots. I’m planted!

  20. Job 14:14 If a man die shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait till my change come. Thou shalt call and I will answer thee thou wilt have a desire to work of thine hands. For now thou numbers my steps dost thou not watch over my sins?

    We must work for the Lord while their is time

  21. 1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

    As long as you’re human, you will always have problems. It is through prayer and reading God’s word daily where we will find peace.

  22. reading the chapter the song kept running thru my mind ” Just like a tree planted by the waters I shall not be moved”. It is not time to play around we have to be rooted and grounded in the truth and let the world go by. This world is not our home we are just passing by.

  23. 1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

    2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

    Our biggest enemy is not the devil, we give him too much credit for the problems in our lives. Our biggest enemy is our own flesh, we have this problem ever since we were born. Our flesh wants to do things for ourselves, it does not want to do things for God or others. It’s something we constantly have to struggle with and overcome. It is the reason why we have to press the “Reset button” in our lives. If we let go and let God take control of our flesh and have his will be done in our lives, then there is nothing we can’t overcome in our lives.

  24. 7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

    8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

    10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

    I want to be like the tree with its roots deep. When I’ve been cut down there is still hope for new life.

    In my mind backsliders are like these trees. They have roots in the word, they know, but for whatever reason they look dead to us. Cut down by life, circumstances, or even choice they are just a stump of the person they use to be. But we can’t see how deep the roots are and with just a scent of water they spring forth new growth. Water is often time used to represent the Holy Spirit, what those backsliders need isn’t judgement or condemnation, what they need is to sense the Holy Ghost in us. They need us to show Gods love and mercy to help them grow again.

    There is still hope as long as there is still breath.

  25. 14 Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death.
    15 You would call and I would answer, and you would yearn for me, your handiwork.
    16 For then you would guard my steps, instead of watching for my sins.
    17 My sins would be sealed in a pouch, and you would cover my guilt. (NLT)

    Halleujah, Thank God we have the hope to live again through Him. Crucify this flesh and daily recommit yourself to Christ. He gives us hope for each new day. Each day is a new beginning, each day is a new opportunity to righteously serve Him. Our sins are long forgotten and He desires to guard our steps and to lead us, but we have to be willing to go and follow Him with each new day. Thank you God for hope, we will GO and follow You, we will GO and do the work You have called us to do!

  26. 14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
    15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
    16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
    17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.

    Waiting on our change, because…our days are numbered. He has a plan for our lives, our iniquities and short comings and we must answer his call; we must seek him while he can be found and work while it is still day because night comes when no man can work. John 9:4 It’s time to Go.

  27. Job ask only for 2 things that God will stop tormenting him and that he have a chance to defend himself Instead Job is helpless before God. Death is the only hope his only comfort is the assurance that in time God will rember him and he will be raised his sins forgiven. But until then his hope is gone .

  28. 7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
    8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

  29. 14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

    Job compares trees and bodies of water to the lives of men. Trees may wither away and sprout back up, water can leave one place and be restored in another. The life man has to live is short and numbered by only the Creator himself. We may not live another life of flesh and blood but as blood bought, Holy Ghost filled believers we have the opportunity to live again in the Spirit. When the world turns back to dust the only thing that will remain will be the pulling away of Gods children who bare his Holy Spirit. If we endure til the end as Job does we shall see our reward.

  30. ““How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble!”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭14:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    “We blossom like a flower and then wither. Like a passing shadow, we quickly disappear.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭14:2‬ ‭NLT

  31. I remember elderly people saying life is short and whatever you di, make it count. Life as we know it, is short because our timing and Gods timing is different but as long as we have hope, when we are cut down ( Glory to God) we can can rise again. My hope is in the Lord. He has allowed me to be cut down but i gave hope in Him that He will raise me up again. Thank you pastor for the commebt on changing church homes. Confirmation like our struggles are real

  32. 10 But a man dies and is laid low;
        he breathes his last and is no more.

    Lord help me reach those that are dead spiritually. Those that can’t even breathe anymore, those that think that they have no more hope. You are the only one that gives us the strength and the breathe of life Lord. I pray Lord you will help us reach those that are so hungry for something just like how you reached us. We were so hungry for something that we didn’t think existed, but by your grace and mercy we found what we were crying out for. Help us Lord everyday to reach those to be able to guide them to you. Your the only one we can trust Lord!!!!

  33. 7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

    22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.

    When there is a drought the roots of a tree go deeper and deeper to find water! When pain comes we need to let it drive us to go deeper and deeper in our relationship with God!

  34. Job 14:14 (MSG)
    “If we humans die, will we live again? That’s my question. All through these difficult days I keep hoping, waiting for the final change – for resurrection!”

    St. John 5:28-29
    28) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice;
    29) And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

    In answer to Job’s question – Yes, we will live again.
    When we do, the question is, “Will it be a resurrection of life or a resurrection of damnation?”
    It all depends on how we live our life on this earth.

  35. 15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

    Just as God is answering our call, we should be answering He’s!

    Isaiah 65:24 (NLT)
    I will answer them before they even call to me.
    While they are still talking about their needs,
    I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

  36. 9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

    I HEAR THE SOUND OF RAIN!!! JESUS SEND THE RAIN!!!

  37. “At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.
    Job 14:7‭-‬9 NIV

    Just like trees and plants not only are they rooted but the roots are always looking for water. So must we be also rooted in his word but also continue to go deeper in it because that is where life is.

  38. v4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

    We no longer have to be the same filthy sinner.JESUS sacrificial blood will wash us from our degraded lifestyle. I’m thankful for HIS cleansing blood!

  39. 14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

    It is appointed for all men to die that is why we always need to make sure that we are ready to meet our maker Jesus. We have to make our calling and election sure. If we miss heaven we missed it all. All what you have done for God all the years of serving in Ministry will be in vain. My family and I are going to make sure that we do everything that we need to do to make it into the kingdom of heaven.

  40. 4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

    You cannot mix unrighteous with righteous. Your going to do what’s right or continue to sin. You cannot do both and still make it to heaven.

  41. For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?(Job 14:16 KJV)

    I learned in life that taking baby steps just makes you learn better and make smarter and wiser choice and to grasp things better in life. God will watch over us as we take each step. Though we may stumble and fall he is always there as our caring Father. When we make mistakes he isn’t holding it against us instead he is rooting for us to get back up again.

  42. 4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

    When we are Baptized in the name if Jesus and when we receive the precious gift of the Holy Spirit, We are new, so we cant keep trying to live a dirty life if we have been cleaned! My favorite verse about the old verses new is …Matthew 9:16-17
    No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
    Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

  43. “Even a tree has more hope! If it is cut down, it will sprout again and grow new branches. Though its roots have grown old in the earth and its stump decays, at the scent of water it will bud and sprout again like a new seedling.
    Job 14:7‭-‬9 NLT

    The bible says in Jeremiah that the ones who put their trust in the Lord should be like trees planted by the waters

    “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
    Jeremiah 17:7‭-‬8 NLT

    Some may feel as if they were cut and left to die by life and situations. although if they can just get water from the river of the Spirit, that living water they will bud again with new life. The key is tapping into the water source and staying close to it. Like we read here in Job, there is hope for a tree.

  44. 13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

    Oh what singing, oh what shouting
    On that happy morning when we all shall rise
    Oh what glory, Hallelujah
    When we meet our blessed Savior in the skies
    When with all that heavenly host, we begin to sing
    Singing in the Holy Ghost, how the heavens will ring
    Millions there will join the song, with them we shall be
    Praising Christ through ages long, heaven’s jubilee.

  45. 4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

    5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

    7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

    8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

    What does it mean to not be clean? To me it means to be spiritually dead: I fight everyday to keep my soul clean, but there are times that it is so difficult to respond in a positive way. I know that God has a purpose for my life; I feel like the tree that has been cut down, but instead of water building me back up. I feel that my roots are being pulled out. I have to refocus and dig my roots deeper to find God. This has been the struggle; to go deeper and completely commit myself to Jesus. I must let the old pass away and the new come forth. Just like the tree; allow the world to be stripped away and God’s glory come into me. Thank you Jesus……Amen!!!!

  46. For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

    8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

    9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

  47. Job 14:13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set tme,and remember me!

    Keep me secret -Hide my soul with thysef,Where my enemies cannot invade my repose;or,as the poet expresses it

  48. ““Man, who is born of a woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil. “Like a flower he comes forth and withers; He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.”
    ‭‭JOB‬ ‭14:1-2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    Our lives are very short and fragile compared to eternity. We only have one life to live. Choose your eternity today

  49. Job 14:5 A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.

    You have one life, opportunity to get right with God. Most people take to the other extreme and live it up, not realizing that this physical life is only a grain of sand in our existence. No one can escape the divine appointment with the death angel. Only if your prepared and the rapture happens, then and only then with you have escaped physical death.

  50. 4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

    Wrong motives can never produce good things. Things might appear like they are going well, but time will show that it too will end up poorly.

  51. 7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

    When we are strong in The Lord our family stays strong also. When our child leaves at some point they have the truth in them and the Word will not leave them. Soon they will return, but if they wait too long, we must continue to raise their siblings in the hope that not all is lost. I have seen many friends that were once in my youth group leave and yet others stay to live for God and trudge through hell to win them back. We cannot give up on them.

  52. 2 We blossom like a flower and then wither. Like a passing shadow, we quickly disappear.

    None of us know when our number will be called. We have had losses at the church that catch us be surprise. We should all be prepared, and say we are ready to meet the Lord at any time.
