Psalm 122

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.

For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.

  1. GO IN PEACE AND PROSPERITY

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

We are commanded to “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem”. I believe this to be the physical and spiritual Jerusalem. The Promises of GOD toward Jerusalem are Peace and Prosperity.

Considering the fact of the Church is the Spiritual Jerusalem, we speak peace and prosperity on ourselves as well as the physical land of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that Love thee.

    I Love the Church
    I Love Jerusalem

I shall prosper in JESUS name.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  2. Pray for their peace and love them it’s an assured prosperity!

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

    “Prosper”……..

  3. This chapter is captioned in the NKJV “The Joy of GOing to the House of the Lord”. Verse 1 says “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 28:7 AMP says “The Lord is my strength and my [impenetrable] shield; My heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16 AMP “Rejoice always and delight in your faith;”.

“Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭122:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Wow, this verse is letting me know that the house of the Lord is for praise and for judgement. That is a concept I hadn’t really considered, yet once you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Judgement can be both good or bad depending what side we are on. We should bring God praise and let him judge us faithful.

  5. 7. O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.

    8. For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.”

    9. For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem. NLT

  6. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Besides being at my home with my family, there’s no better place I would rather be than the house of God. My family in Christ is not much different than my other family. The fellowship, the worship, the teachings, everything we do together for the kingdom. Let us GO into the house of the Lord! It’s our place of peace and place we congregate to worship and love one another.

  7. 5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

The Lord said I will bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you. What we send to Jerusalem the Lord will send to us. I send Peace, Prosperity, Apostolic Revival, for the Spirit of the LORD to pour out onto that land and for the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob to be glorified above all in that place! In Jesus name.

  8. 1-2 When they said, “Let’s go to the house of God,”
    my heart leaped for joy.

This is how my heart should respond every time I have the privilege to go to Church! Some people see it as an obligation, to me it’s my life’s bloodline. Without the community of the church family worshipping together, and the strength received from worshiping My Savior, I would be lost without hope.
The joy of the Lord is my strength!!!

  9. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

  10. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

Pastor is always saying to pray for Israel, Pray for Jerusalem, and dont support anyone who doesn’t support Israel! They are Gods chosen People! And now I see it with my own eyes, Thank you Jesus I will GO pray for Jerusalem

  11. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
Jerusalem is still the apple of Gods eye and still some were we must stay focused on. Im thankful that here at POFW we make it a point to pray for them just as this verse says and Im thankful for a country that values Israel.

  12. Psalm 122 consist of Joy In the House of the Lord!

    1. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

It is the will of God that we should worship him in concert, that many should join together to wait upon him in public ordinances. We ought to worship God in our own houses, but that is not enough; we must go into the house of the Lord, to pay our respect/honor to him there, and not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.
Heb. 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is ; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye See the day approaching.

GO to the House of the Lord with Praise,Worship!!
I love going to the House of the Lord!!

  13. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Coming to God, coming to church, living this holy lifestyle, it’s all a choice. When you choose to do something, typically it’s because you want it and like it. Hopefully, we choose to live this life because we want to, because we enjoy it and it makes us glad. Thank You Jesus for the wonderful opportunity to freely come before You.

  14. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
I shall go in the house of the Lord with joy and gladness expecting God to do something different and not leaving the house of God the same

  15. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord

It is truly a privilege to come to the house of the Lord, when we speak we need to carefully choose our words. We “get” to go church it’s not I “have” to go to church
There are so many that would love to go to church but aren’t able.

  16. Psalms 122:1,”I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

David was glad (happy) for two reasons. One, people wanted to GO to church, and two, they invited him to GO with them.
Let’s be glad (happy) about GOing to church, and INVITE someone to GO with you.

  17. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Don’t get sad get glad! I love Jesus! When I walk into the house of the lord and walk to the alter I praise him with my whole heart! All Jesus wants his our worship, Obediance, and faith in him. I love to praise him daily. I’m alive once agin another day does he give me. Thank you Jesus!

  18. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Not everyone has the privilege to freely walk into the house of God, but we do! Not everyone knows the only way to be saved is through Christ, but we do! Each and every time we come into the house of God we should begin to thank Him for another opportunity to come and serve Him, we should begin to thank Him for the freedom to walk into the house of God. We need to be careful to not take for granted the privilege we have to just worship Him! And the way to do is to rejoice each and every time we come into His presence!

  19. Prosperity & Peace

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

    In Jesus Name

    His Strength is Perfect

  20. Josiah: 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” Let us pray for the church, for POFW! Let us not only pray for peace but revival. When you or I pray things can happen, there are many examples in the Bible. However the Bible says in Mt. 18:19 “Again I say unto you. That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it SHALL be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” So, let US Go Pray for Revival! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  21. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

I thank God that we are able to go up to his house and worship him, and pray for those who have to work harder to do so.

  22. 6 Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.

Yes we should pray for peace in the region of Jerusalem. For God’s people are always under attack by Muslims. The country of Israel must always be on the defense from the surrounding countries. We’ll there ever be peace in the region, probably not. But individually, each can pray for peace of mind and that God will guard them at all times.

  23. 1 When they said, “Let’s go to the house of God,” my heart leaped for joy.

Thank you God for letting me be able to go to your house and praise your name! It’s not a I have to but its a I get to! Thank you God for everything I get to have in my life, and I give thanks and praise to You! Let me not take for granted everything you have gave but daily give praise and thanks to You!

  24. Hannah: “1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” I am so glad that we get to worship our God freely. He is our God and there is so much to worship him for. He has done so much for us and I am glad to be able to worship him for everything he has done. We should go joyfully into the house of the Lord and praise him for who he is. Go in joyfulness and exalt his name forever. Never stop serving the Lord and being glad to enter into the house of the Lord.

  25. Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.(Psalms 122:9 KJV)

In Gods house i pray that my heart and mind is all for him and that i come into his house with worship and praise. I will seek him for his goodness and whatever it takes to get to know my father.

  26. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
9 Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.

This should be our prayer. Let there be peace on this earth. We need God in our world more than every before.
Young People- WE must pray for this peace for our generation. Without the peace of God , this world will be lost. We have too much at stake to play around with our souls, and our eternity. Save yourself, and reach out to others.

  27. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

The more I read the Word and pray I have realized more and more how everything is spiritual. Even if we think it’s physical everything happens for a reason. Everyday we’re fighting in the spiritual but we have to remember that we have the victory!!! No matter what the enemy might throw at us we have to keep pushing!!!

  28. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

  29. “Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.””
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭122:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬

So thankful that we pray as a church body for Jerusalem. I pray that peace would be in Jerusalem. And for God’s protection to be upon his people.

  30. When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, God blesses us. God’s chosen people, God will take care of. For those who take care of God’s chosen, God will take care of them.

  31. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

Walls are places of boundaries and safety palaces are place of dominion and authority. As we pray for the peaces of Jerusalem we move into position to receive aboundance. We will find peace in the boundaries of His Word and fruitfulness in the areas we have overcome in our lives and now walk in dominion in.

Our obedience to pray for Jeruselum opens many doors of possibility.

  32. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord

It wasn’t till Solomon built the temple that there was another proper place to call Gods house. David was prophesying the joy that would come when he finally set his foot in the temple. Although David never saw it himself he rejoiced in the fact that he knew without a doubt it was going to happen. His faith was what let him rejoice. God had promised the temple and David believed it so much that he put himself there and rejoiced like it was already happening. What a testimony of faith. We can glen much from this simple verse. Gods promises are not contingent on our timing. If God said it, I believe it, and it’s going to happen so I might as well praise him for it now.

  33. “Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭122:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Smashed up together is kinda what that means. All squished together. The only way this works is unity. I pray for the unity of our church and my family all the time. Jesus help us to be unified.

  34. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Thank God for the house of the Lord where we can come and have an encounter with God.

  35. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

There are many things that are going on in Jerusalem this day. Let’s keep them in prayer and remember we have brother in Christ over there, too.

  36. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Peace and safety is what the people of God need today more than ever. We must take back what the devil has stolen and regain peace.

  37. Psalm 122:6 (English Amp) Pray for peace of Jerusalem! May they prosper who love you [Holy City] ! (7) May peace be within your walls and prosperity within your palaces! People need God’s peace and safety more than they ever had. I pray peace for Ft worth and there family.

  38. 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

This just shows how to come to the church. Another example of how to come in the spirit of expectation. For if David didn’t expect God to do, or anything to happen why would he be glad? I pray that God increases my faith so that I am living in the spirit of expectation.

  39. This is why it’s so important for us to pray for Israel. It’s the physical place that God has set apart for himself and in which he promised to live among his people (2Ch 6:6; Ps 135:21). The name Jerusalem means “city of peace” so it is only fitting that the psalmist ask worshippers to to pray for peace to reign there. When we pray for the peace in Jerusalem is not only to pray for the literal city, but is a prayer that peace will reign within God’s visible church and his eternal rule over heaven and earth will be sure and will come soon (Rev 22:20).

  40. An often quoted verse that is hopefully and prayerfully always true of our life. Going to the house of the Lord is an opportunity which should always bring joy to our soul. It doesn’t matter what else is going on, his presence restores our peace and calm in the company of those of like-minded faith.

Notice that Jerusalem is spoken of as a city that is compact together… that should be our strength as well. The church needs unity for the fullness of God’s blessings to truly be available to his people. Let me stand in his gates with joy both because of him and because of those who walk with us in our journey towards heaven! Let the bonds of love and unity be our strength as we strive towards the perfection of Jesus Christ! That is how peace will truly be within the walls, and how much easier is it to reach for that heavenly peace when we already share a natural peace amongst the body!
