Proverbs 14

Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

28 In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

  1. In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life. To turn one away from the snares of death. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  2. Verses 24-28 MSG “The wise accumulate wisdom; fools get stupider by the day. Souls are saved by truthful witness and betrayed by the spread of lies. The Fear-of-God builds up confidence, and makes a world safe for your children. The Fear-of-God is a spring of living water so you won’t go off drinking from poisoned wells. The mark of a good leader is loyal followers; leadership is nothing without a following.” Wow God, just like we heard Wednesday night! Hallelujah, Lord help us to always be loyal followers of truth.

  3. 12-13 There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough; look again—it leads straight to hell. Sure, those people appear to be having a good time, but all that laughter will end in heartbreak. MSG

Don’t take first appearances for truth; things are not always what they seem. Often, the ‘life of the party’ is only that way while under the influence of something that is destroying them.

  4. GO WITH GOD

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Most active believers are open hearted and open spirited. With this open concept, we are often approached by others to be tempted and deceived. Through prayer and the word of GOD we are able to discern the spirit of people. Through this valuable gift from GOD we are equipped to identify a foolish man.

Remember who JESUS says a fool is:

Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 10:18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

Proverbs 14:9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Proverbs 15:5 A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Proverbs 18:6 A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.

Proverbs 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

Proverbs 29:11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

The WORD of GOD is very clear that a fool has no control over their tongue, so they easy to spot, the one that attempts to control every conversation. We are to GO away from these individuals and GO WITH GOD.

  5. Proverbios 14:1 La mujer sabia edifica su casa;
    Mas la necia con sus manos la derriba. 21- Peca el que menosprecia a su prójimo;
    Mas el que tiene misericordia de los pobres es bienaventurado. 26-En el temor de Jehová está la fuerte confianza;
    Y esperanza tendrán sus hijos.

  6. 11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

There are two worlds that will be at battle always and that’s the righteousness and the wicked. We know the righteousness has the victory and the wicked will never prosper. Remaining on this righteous path will only take you up up up. Remember to trust in God and you shall be blessed in the name of the Lord
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  7. Stay away from fools, for you won’t find knowledge on their lips. Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation. The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the godly will flourish.
    Proverbs 14:7‭, ‬9‭-‬9‭, ‬11 NLT
If choose to listen to fool you will be deceive because the know not what they are talking about lies come out of there mouth I also tell not not worrying about what the fool say about you if serving God it really doesn’t matter what they say it only matters what God say you can’t wrap you mind of this world because the only thing that will happen is you. Will start to think like this world and so you will become this world

  8. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

I use the scripture before I teach any Bible study to explain that a man cannot trust his own thoughts as well with Jeremiah where it says that the heart is deceitfully wicked and how they cannot trust their feelings, and in Roman it says that every man is a liar and we can only trust the word of God and how I use that with every person that I teach to explain that it’s not about our opinions or our feelings but with the word of God says.

  9. 34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Our nation is in need of a touch from God for righteousness. If only this nation had righteousness all in there hearts. Our systems of government and everything would follow the will of God. Jesus is what this nation needs. Thank you Jesus!

  10. 23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

When we work and labour for the lord and for our secular jobs and passions we can be sure that we will profit from it. Everything that we do for the Lord will in one way or another be profitable and worth every second! But if we just sit around and talk about what were going to do or what we want to do and never do anything we will never see a return on our investment. So lets stop talking about doing something and lets rise up in action to perform what God has called us to!!

  11. 7 Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.

15 A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.
16 A Wise man fears the Lord and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless.

  12. 26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

  13. There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.
    Proverbs 14:12 NLT

When we follow what we think we can be greatly deceived. That is why we must turn our ears to the LORD and LISTEN to what He is saying.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
    Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NLT

  14. 25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

    Deliver= naw-tsal’
a primiitive root; to snatch away, whether in a good or a bad sense: at all, defend, deliver, ( Self ), escape, without fail, part, pluck, preserve, recover, rescue, rid, save, spoil, strip, surely, take ( out ).

When we are a TRUE witness for Jesus, we can literaly snatch someone from the pits of hell, that hell may be the life they are living, because when we give the the gospel of Jesus we are giving them hope, but to be deceitful, can really discourage someone, and make them feel like they cant trust anyone when it comes to the gospel, ministry! We are all representations of Jesus! Its my prayer that when I speak about the Goodness of Jesus, They see the light, even when my mouth is closed!
    iblessyouinthenameoftheLord

  15. 29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Proverbs 15:18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Maintaining our level of anger and exercising temperance in this area is part of the fruit of the Spirit. The Bible says be angry and sin not. We must keep our human spirit under control so that the fruit of the spirit can shine through.

  16. Proverbs 14
1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Oh the wisdom of women. Satan trues in every way he can destroy the home.
The wise woman will pray daily for her husband guard her thoughts and her mind.
Lift up your husband even if it may be difficult in some cases. Yet you are building a strong house one where the adversary will have to leave
For a praying woman puts the enemy in his place. God will cover your home. So ladies we may be the weaker vessels but we can build up strong homes we can have a home where Peace is the foundation. I know for a fact that a woman can tear down just by a few words she says so let’s be wise and build strong hines. A place where people are drawn by love and God’s reflection in our lives.

  17. Proverbs 14:16 A wise man feareth, and departure from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Psalm 34:14 Departments from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

  18. 26 In the [reverent] fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will [always] have a place of refuge.
27 The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that leads to obedience and worship] is a fountain of life, so that one may avoid the snares of death. (AMP)

Hallelujah, if we truly fear the Lord we should be confident, obedient, and we should be a worshiper. This fountain of life should be evident in our daily lives.

  19. 12 There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough; look again – it leads straight to hell. 13 Sure, those people appear to be having a good time, but all that laughter will end in heartbreak. Sift and Weigh Every Word 14 A mean person gets paid back in meanness, a gracious person in grace. MSG
You know you see billboards showing something good but what it does not show is the bad stuff that happens to you on the other side of the billboard. Sure you may think someone that is out of the church is having a good time and flourishing but they are not, like Bro. Smith said Wednesday night they are going to get their just judgment. People can laugh or try to laugh thru way their heart ache but nothing is going to cure that heart ache except you turn it all over to God.

  20. “GO”
Our theme this year is to “GO.” GO Pray, GO Reach, GO Work, etc…
Here in Prov. 14:7 we are told to “GO from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceives not in him the lips of knowledge.” A foolish person only speaks foolish, corrupt, unsavoury, hurtful, filthy words. There is no knowledge or edifying to his words, and this is why we must “GO” (get away from, depart) from his presence.
As a Christian, our words must edify, bring encouragement, uplift, and teach knowledge to others.

  21. iLove to Go Blog
25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

Evangelist David Smith has a very unique altar call. One of the things he says is never tell anyone at the altar what you did. He says folks are nosy and will say, “Really, you did that…” He says the next thing you know Word will come back around and folks will be accusing you of things not even close to what happened….

Wow, our job at the altar is not to be an inquisitor and waterboard confessions out of folks, but it is to bring deliverance to people and let Jesus use us to heal them.

  22. 24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

  23. 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death

Don’t be fooled by appearances! Sin may look fun now but in the end it will only bring sorrow. It is never worth it! Following God may not be as easy as following sin but the reward of following God is so much greater than anything this world can offer!

  24. 8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

  25. “Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When I think of an ox the first thing that comes to mind is “servant”. They serve their master by being used to harvest crops. We are likened to the oxen by the way we serve our Father with the harvest of souls. It’s harvest time for POFW! His Kingdom will come. We have a great opportunity this weekend. Let SERVE the Lord with gladness. I’m also reminded that our role as an oxen isn’t finish after the souls come in. WE NEED TO SERVE OUR FATHER BY MAKING THEM A DISCIPLE! They must GrOw from babies to mature apostolic’s. In the end we ALL want to hear “Well Done Good and Faithful SERVANT”
    Be Church!
    Be an Ox!
    Be a Servant!

“”His master replied, ‘You have done well, good and faithful SERVANT! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”

  26. Josiah: 15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
If we want to be prudent we have to look at where we are going. If we want to be wise than we should fear and depart from evil. Notice how it says “feareth, AND DEPARTETH from evil”. Not just fear and know it is bad. Yes, we should be an example and light to this world, but sometimes a line needs to be drawn. School is starting soon and some of us may hear and see stuff that is sin, but we do not have to take part of it. We do not have to choose to be where kids will stretch limits more. We can and I will be a light in this world. We may be the only light some people may ever know. So, let us GO GUARD OURSELVES from the evil in this world. Let’s be a city set on a hill with a fire burning for God!

  27. 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Ther are churches that are letting the things of the world come in them. They do it to be loving and accepting and for whatever reasons but it’s wrong before God. It’s better to please God and make others look down on us than please people and have God look down us.

  28. Hannah: “26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. 29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.”The Lord is my strength and in him will I trust. He is where I go to in my weakness and in my joy. He is always there and he never deserts me. In verse twentynine it talks about the wise being slow to anger. It is better to be slow than anger and settle the situation than it is to be quick to anger and make the situation worse. In my life it is my desire to always get slower and slower to anger andto always be continuing on building my relationship with the Lord. Always continue to grow with the Lord never go away from him.

  29. Always so many good thoughts in Proverbs. Although work may not be so popular in the world today, this proverb assures us that ‘In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.’ It’s good to plan and talk about what you’re going to do beforehand, but if talking is all you ever get to, therein lies the way to poverty. If you want to profit from those plans, it going to take some labor, and any labor you do for the kingdom of God can be profitable!

Sometimes it may seem discouraging when you look at all the mess that can transpire when you’re attempting to do something for God, but remember ‘Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.’ It’s easy to be tidy and clean if you’re not doing anything… the enemy will even allow you that satisfaction. It’s when you decide that going to accomplish some work in his name that things begin to get messy and you need to remind yourself that in ALL LABOR there is profit!

All you have to do is remain faithful and remember ‘The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.’ Don’t allow yourself to be deceived from straying away from the path that God has directed for our lives. The enemy may even make it seem right and a quicker means to accomplishing your desire, so remember ‘There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.’ So in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths! He will allow us to reap in due season of we faint not. Just remember to keep your hand on the plow and be willing to exert some effort of labor in what God has set your heart to do!

  30. 14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Bro Smith reminded us Wed night that the backslider or prodigal son must come to himself or come to his senses. Praying this for the many backsliders/prodigals in this region.

  31. 33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

    Peace in heart, Have wisdom.

When we know what to do is right, but don’t do it. Then we tend to feel bad, like we didn’t do something right. But when do it right we have peace in our hearts. If you know what to do is right, simply put, DO IT. GO DO SOMETHING that you know is good to do.
    So #GODOSOMETHING

  32. 25-26 Souls are saved by truthful witness and betrayed by the spread of lies. The Fear-of-God builds up confidence, and makes a world safe for your children.

God I find my confidence in you! I’ll stand and not be ashamed of your name as a truthful witness in this world! The next generation rises and I pray that the God fearing people now build their confidence to help lead the next generation to you!

  33. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
    Proverbs 14:29‭-‬30 KJV
    http://bible.com/1/pro.14.29-30.KJV

As I was reading this: it reminded me of just a few days ago. I had to pray for wisdom and guidance. It was one of those days where everything was coming at me. I literally had to stop and go into the back room and ask God to forgive me of my feelings. It amazes me how quickly your whole attitude can change once you put God in it. Never take for granted the things that we are being prepared for. One split second is all it takes for the enemy catch you in a weak moment. Father guard my mind and heart: make me quick to hear, but slow to anger. Never let wrath take the place of your joy and love. Thank you Jesus.

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  34. 2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

May I always fear the Lord for I know I do not despise him. May God control my tongue and guard my lips that I may be preserved and not Kindle a great matter that destroys me.

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

Amen, and may I perceive quickly

8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

My I have understanding and truth.

  35. Proverbs 14:3 NLT
[3] A fool’s proud talk becomes a rod that beats him, but the words of the wise keep them safe.

  36. 5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

  37. 20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

We don’t need to be envious towards the rich we need to have the right mind and the right spirit!

  38. Proverbs 14:14 (English Amp) The backslider in heart [ from GOD and from fearing God] shall be filled with (the fruit of) his own ways , and a good man shall be satisfied with [ the fruit of ] his ways[ with the Holy thoughts and actions which his heart prompts and in which he delights. My prayer for backslidders is for God to soften there hearts and renew their minds. They have to come to their own senses to want to have a better life with GOD. I bless them in the name of Jesus Christ .

  39. 7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

This will keep you out of a lot of trouble. There is no reason to hang on to a foolish conversation or continue in the company of someone that is acting or talking foolishly. Some of the greatest trouble I got into was when I hung around after I realized the situation was foolish or wasn’t getting better.

  40. 13Even in laughter the heart may ache,
and the end of joy may be grief.

I’ve seen many miserable people laugh and attempt to display to everyone they are happy. If a person has to go out of their way chances are it’s a show and their laughter is purely for entertainment. Some laughter is good for the soul for a “cheerful heart is good medicine” Pro 17:22. We have to think ourselves happy (Acts 26:2). Even if our hearts have places that ache God will lift us us for joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh 8:10). Those who smile aren’t always happy and those who are happy don’t always smile.. like smiling teeth and sad eyes. Joy can end in grief too just like rain falls on the just and the unjust alike. It shows great character to go from grief to seeking joy and laughter.

  41. The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.(Proverbs 14:15 KJV)

A foolish man would believe anything and gets tossed about in many directions. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. So that means a prudent man will seek after understanding and direction.

  42. We must have a clear understanding of God’s word. We may not understand it right away, but if we continue to trust in God he will give us the understanding needed. We must rely on God to bring us through.

  45. 7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

I noticed this from some Jehovah’s Witness. They came up to me asking, do you want to learn something new?

When I started to witness to them about Jesus Christ they tried to tell me that I needed clarity in my understanding, so they tried giving me a copy of the Book of Mormon. They said that there book would give me understanding about the Bible.

Needless to say, I “went” from the presence of those foolish men when I didn’t perceive knowledge in their lips.

  46. 33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

God knows what’s in a servants heart. Staying away from sin will honor God. Making wise choices will keep you from falling short of the glory of God.

  47. 5 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Its not wise for us too be gullible and believe every thing that we hear. We ought to be wise and fear God stay away from evil doers.

  48. Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

In most homes the woman/mom/wife is the core of the family you can say. The women either builds a safe place for the family or is just careless and selfless. A woman has many responsibilities in a home but most all is the strength of the home. A husband needs a strong women to stand by their side to support them, a child needs the counsel and love of the mother. Jesus help me build up a home where my children know the fear of God, where they alnowledge that Jesus is our everything in the good and the bad, to have faith in you Lord. Help me Jesus to be love and see how you see Jesus!!!

  49. 26 “In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.”

27 “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”

  50. 29 People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.

People who can’t control their anger, look and act foolish. Just playing a round of golf, I’ve seen guys throw their driver, and say a cuss word because they hit a bad shot. I just tell myself, I’m glad I’m not playing with him. Those individuals make others miserable. I thank God for the patience he has given me.

  51. 23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

  52. 24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

  53. 8. The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. 9. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour. Thank you Jesus !!!!
