Isaiah 8

Moreover the Lord said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.

And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the Lord to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.

For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

The Lord spake also unto me again, saying,

Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

17 And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

  1. Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward. verse 20 This little light of mine I AM going to let it shine

  2. 11 The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said,

12 “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.

13 Make the LORD of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. NLT

    Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. KJV

  3. 20 Go to God’s teaching and His testimony to guide your thoughts and behavior! If any response disagrees with the word of God, then it’s muddling and wrong and not the least bit illuminating. Voice

    1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. KJV

  4. The second half of this chapter in the ESV is captioned “Fear God, Wait for the Lord”. Verses 11-14 ERV says “The Lord spoke to me with his great power and warned[i] me not to be like these people. He said, “Don’t think there is a plan against you just because the people say there is. Don’t be afraid of what they fear. Don’t let them frighten you!” The Lord All-Powerful is the one you should fear. He is the one you should respect.[j] He is the one who should frighten you. If you people would respect him, he would be a safe place[k] for you. But you don’t respect him, so he is like a stone that you stumble over. He is a rock that makes both families of Israel fall. He has become a trap that all the people of Jerusalem will fall into.”

Psalm 115:11 NLT says “All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield.”

  5. 8
2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

We are seeing a trend of “creative truth telling” in many places. News writers have been caught fabricating stories. There was a scandal concerning a book written by James Frey, A Million Little Pieces that was exposed as a mostly made up. The internet and social media has afforded the opportunity to say anything they want to about anything; with little to no accountability. We must be a faithful witness, even when things go wrong.

Maybe, you volunteered to teach a class and people stopped attending. Maybe you planned a program and that flopped or tried to share your testimony with someone and became tongue tied and seemed to do more harm than good. Maybe you took a new job believing it is God’s will yet you find yourself more frustrated than you have ever been. Or maybe the ministry you love so much is falling flat.

People may not have called you a failure, but you see the stares and sensed the whispers. More than that, you hear the accusations of satan in your own heart and mind. This is why these words of Paul are so instructive to us. You know, brothers, that our visit to you was not a failure. 2 We had previously suffered and been insulted in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in spite of strong opposition. (1 Thessalonians 2:1-2)

  6. 12 Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy, do not fear what they fear, do not dread it.
13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.

  7. The overflow effect

8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

What do think of when we say overflow? An overflow room, maybe an overflow in the bathtub, but what about the overflow of a dam? When a dam overflows, it becomes very dangerous for the inhabitants around it and downriver from it. The power of water is so very great. It can clean out an area of all living things. But as we heard Pastor preach last night. It’s through our Praise, our Judah that wins. Now in this passage it talks about how Judah overflows. What would happen if we allow our Judah to overflow? What will it clear out in our lives? We must allow this to happen, for the overflow to happen. When we allow it, God with His water/Spirit can come in and clean us. Let the Spirit of God flow in our lives and change us.

Isaiah 8:17-18 KJV  And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.  (18)  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

WOW, Jesus fulfilled this prophecy that was written way back in the book of Isaiah. Notice what the book of Hebrews says at it quotes the words from Isaiah.

Hebrews 2:12-13 KJV  Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.  (13)  And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

Boom! What does this mean for us today? Wow, it means alot! Check this out. “…the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and wonders…”

Question: Are we not the children of the Lord? We are given for “signs and wonders”. That word “wonder” in the Hebrew is powerful.

    H4159
    מֹפֵת    מוֹפֵת
    môphêth    môphêth
    mo-faith’, mo-faith’
From H3302 in the sense of conspicuousness; a miracle; by implication a token or omen: – miracle, sign, wonder (-ed at).

Look how you pronounce it in the Hebrew! Mo Faith! We need Mo Faith because in the Hebrew it is miraculous! lol, I’m fired up! It’s time for the Children of God to exercise Mo Faith and do the miraculous

  9. Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are
Completely in the dark. Isaiah 8:20 NLT

There is a lack of desire to study the word of God, instructions and teachings.
So many times we find ourselves bonded and trapped in the affairs of this world due to the lack of understanding of God’s Kingdom.

The kingdom of this world is doing it’s job by over crowding our minds with information and propagand.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
Perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 (kjv)

  10. 19 Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?
20 Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

“Look to God” are the words standing out to me. After a point, I think it’s safe to say we all know better, but sometimes we need a reminder not only for ourselves but a reminder to tell others who don’t know better. We are children of God who walk in light of His glory, we walk in light because we know His word an have understanding. What we also have are loved ones and lost souls who are completely in the dark – find them and encourage them to look to God.

  11. MY SANCTUARY

The WORD and SPIRIT of GOD are our sanctuary.

Sanctuary – 4720. miqdash, mik-dawsh´; a consecrated thing or place, especially, a palace, sanctuary (whether of Yhwh or of idols) or asylum:—chapel, hallowed part, holy place, sanctuary.

While appreciate and enjoy the sanctuary if worship at 10264 Westpoint Blvd. This is not my only sanctuary. Wherever the LORD is that PLACE becomes my sanctuary.

When we fear GOD more than people, places or situations, that PLACE becomes a sanctuary. A place of refuge and worship to GOD. In this chapter we read of the judgement of the LORD against those who have planned and plotted evil toward the people of GOD. However, their wizardry and weaponry will not work.

GOD avails to us as believers the power and ability to make a sanctuary in any and every circumstance and opportunity. GO in Peace and not in fear.

12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

I look at as God Waring us not to walk in the ways of other people fear the LORD and not people because God the one who created us he also that will keep us save

  13. Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
    Isaiah 8:12‭-‬13 KJV

There are a lot of conspiracies out that have people living in fear of man. We should not be afraid of man, but have fear and love of God. This is where I would stumble a lot. I put my fear and trust in man. Instead of God: I am a sanctuary and God really should be my fear. My home, my work, and everywhere I go should become sanctified: because I am a child of God. I need people to see God in me. With recent events I know that God is with me and that I’m a walking miracle. I didn’t see it before; thank you Jesus for saving me and opening my eyes to who I am in you.

  14. 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness

Jesus is the light of the world, and with Jesus in us,we have the light in us, so if no one can see the light, does that mean that the light isn’t there? Is it a literal light?

light= dawn ( literal, figurative or adverbial):–day(-spring), early light, morning, whence riseth.
    1. dawn
    a. dawn
    b. at dawn (as adverb)

if we dont have the light of Jesus, there are going to be times when we suffer but cursing God is only going to make things worse. Sometimes we dont trust God to be who we NEED Him to be in our life! We need to Trust Him more than anyone because He is the only one who can take us from darkness to light.

  15. 6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

There are two distinct attributes of God. There’s His love, and His wrath. When we do not receive His love and guidance for our lives that brings about sin and sin will eventually bring His wrath. Yes, we serve a very merciful God who will forgive us, but we have to want repentance. He wants to protect us from all this world has but He gives us the freedom to make our own choices. And if we keep sinning and don’t come to Him with a true heart of repentance ( turning away from sin) then He will bring His wrath. Stay in the Love of God with obedience to His voice!

“And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Some people would rather seek the dead for the answer to their problems instead of seeking the one true living God. But we know the one who hold the future, we know the one who has all the answers and it is Him who we can trust to guide us throughout life!

  16. Isaiah 8 message version

11-15 God spoke strongly to me, grabbed me with both hands and warned me not to go along with this people. He said:

    “Don’t be like this people,
always afraid somebody is plotting against them.
    Don’t fear what they fear.
    Don’t take on their worries.
    If you’re going to worry,
worry about The Holy. Fear God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
The Holy can be either a Hiding Place
or a Boulder blocking your way,
The Rock standing in the willful way
    of both houses of Israel,
    A barbed-wire Fence preventing trespass
    to the citizens of Jerusalem.
Many of them are going to run into that Rock
    and get their bones broken,
Get tangled up in that barbed wire
and not get free of it.”
    16-18 Gather up the testimony,
preserve the teaching for my followers,
While I wait for God as long as he remains in hiding,
while I wait and hope for him.
I stand my ground and hope,
I and the children God gave me as signs to Israel,
Warning signs and hope signs from God-of-the-Angel-Armies,
who makes his home in Mount Zion.
19-22 When people tell you, “Try out the fortunetellers.
    Consult the spiritualists.
Why not tap into the spirit-world,
get in touch with the dead?”
Tell them, “No, we’re going to study the Scriptures.”
People who try the other ways get nowhere—a dead end!
    Frustrated and famished,
they try one thing after another.
When nothing works out they get angry,
cursing first this god and then that one,
    Looking this way and that,
up, down, and sideways—and seeing nothing,
A blank wall, an empty hole.
They end up in the dark with nothing.

Follow after God Study the Scriptures. The world, friends and family will try to sway you another direction. Satan has cunning devices that appear innocent but we must recognize the harm it can cause. Keep your heart guarded keep your ears open to what God is saying. If you have a question got to the pastor go to a God fearing leader get the answer. Don’t lose your soul it is not worth it. Gid us our Strength and our Refuge

  17. 12 Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy, do not fear what they fear, do not dread it.
13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.

This verse reminds me of those who said the world would end on Sept. 23! They called it a conspiracy. They called it inevitable. Then they rescinded their claims! The only one we are to fear is the Lord! Hes also the only one that knows the end from the beginning as well as when he will be returning to the earth. We ought to fear and reverence him. The great and terrible day of the Lord is who we should dread….

  18. 10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

Nothing can come against us for God is with us. The people in this world can talk all they want to but we know the truth of our Savor! God continually shows this world how His word is the truth that will never fail and we, his children stand firm upon that rock! God let us be a light in this world and not let it burn out, let us stand and declare Your name for you are with us always! Thank you God for being my strength that will never leave my side!

  19. 2 I asked Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah, both known as honest men, to witness my doing this.

During court trials the more witnesses you have the better the outcome in your favor. Even having 1 witness, the jury can decide in your favor or not. For when you do something in secrecy or in the dark, you never want a witness, because you don’t want to be seen. Unfortunately people dont realize God is your witness, he sees all things. On the day of judgement, God will be a witness to your doings.

  20. 11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

God warns us of who we shouldn’t be amongst and who we should fear. His warning signs are to help us and lead us to righteousness. Listening to God is what we should be doing.

  21. Isaiah 8:14-15
    14) And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
    15) And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

  22. “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.
    Isaiah 8:12‭-‬13 NLT

When troubles arise people begin to wonder and try to find blame; it’s what many logical minds do. That is when one thing can lead to another and panic may start. But we should know that we live in the world but are not from it. It is the Lord that has all power and control, and it is Him we should fear and respect for no matter what maybe going on around he will protect his people.

  23. I love to worship the lord
Familiar spirits refers to witches and wizards refers to male soothsayers peep and mutter is better rendered chirp and whisper

  24. 21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Continue to pray for the Lost, there is still hunger yet to be revealed. There is still a revelation yet to come. When these ones that God allows you to witness to show up be sure to feed them the word, for the word is as sweet as honey. The truth can upset them but don’t let them get discouraged, let God lead and direct them to their salvation.
If these people choose to Go the direction of the world you could even show them verse 22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.”

    Go Lead in Jesus name
    God is with US
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  25. I am the one you should fear and respect. I am the holy God, the Lord All-Powerful!(Isaiah 8:13 CEV)

We should give the lord our God the glory of his power, and goodness, and faithfulness, by trusting in his promises for deliverance and let him be our fear. He is the Holy of holy’s he also is our refuge to all that truly fear him, and rely upon him.

  26. 13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

This reminds me of the story of when Jesus met the woman at the well, and told her about the water that he provides and she knows not where she worships and and scripture that says we are the temple of God. Our place of worship should not begin at the church house…nor should it end there…it should be in out day to day life

  27. So many people in the world today want to ignore the word of the Lord in favor of what they want to pursue. They’re not as much interested in God as interesting in having the approval of those around them. Israel made this same mistake as a nation however and it didn’t exactly serve them well. Rather than worrying about what others may say or think, were need to ‘Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he shall be for a sanctuary…’

The very same words that are such a stumbling block to those in the world can literally become your sanctuary! That is what they were meant to be! They aren’t just there for our judgment, they can provide the very guidance we need to avoid that eternal judgment of sin. The world will always struggle against God’s word, but should someone who claims to walk with God speak after the same fashion we need to remember to look again ‘To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.’

We do not listen to the words of men above the Word of God. Think upon that before you consider in your heart whether an aspect of God’s word is still relevant today. Before you make the greater error of allowing it to be spoken from your mouth, consider carefully the true intent of your heart and take it to God in prayer! He is always faithful, both to forgive and to provide wisdom and direction, but he still expects us to ask. And when we approach him in that most reverent sincerity, he can truly become our sanctuary!

  28. Isaiah 8:14 (English Amp). And He shall be a sanctuary [ a sccred and indestructible asylum to those who reverently fear and trust in Him] ; But He shall be a Stone of stumbling and a Rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Isaiah 28:6 And a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgement and administers the law, and strength to those who true back the battle at the gate. Listen to what God is telling you it very important in your life. A stone that will cause stumbling and a Rock that will give men or woman offense; they stumble because they disobey and disbelieve God’s Word , follow Jesus and believe him. Put your trust in Jesus.

  29. 8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

The name Immanuel meaning “God with us” expresses two sides of God’s presence. He is with us to destroy evil, as in the name assigned to Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz (vs 3); and he is with us to redeem those who repent, as in the name given unto Jesus, which means “the Lord saves” Matt 1:21. God’s presence never yields complacency. It should rise up in us a war cry, when he goes before us and anything that rises up against us cannot stand.

  30. 20 Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

Many times we let other people know our problems before we telling Jesus!!! We can’t expect for people to help us when we haven’t even consulted our Father for guidance or asked Him for Help!!! If we can’t even help ourselves by praying, reading His Word, fasting, etc. How can we expect other people to do it for us. Yes we can peoples prayers and counsels will help but salvation is individual. No one can save our souls but our own selves. We can’t go to heaven by Pastors prayers on us only, or our parents prayers. We have to fight for our own salvation and get the counsel from Jesus first!!! Jesus hears ours prayers and is with us, sometimes He just wants us to run to Him FIRST before running to the doctors, to medicine, to the govt, to Pastor, to money, to our jobs, etc. Jesus help me to always put you first, no one like you Jesus!!!

  31. Isaiah 8:7 NLT
[7] Therefore, the Lord will overwhelm them with a mighty flood from the Euphrates River-the king of Assyria and all his glory. This flood will overflow all its channels

  32. 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Anyone that speaks against the word of God is lost. There are so called preachers out there claiming that there is a greater revelation than that of the Bible. Those same men declare that the deciples were wrong and didn’t write the Bible correctly. I. Slice the word of God is infallable, if not then why was David’s victories recorded right beside his failers. The Bible is not written by perfect men but it is written by them as they were moved on by the Holy Ghost. This makes the Word perfect. Anyone that discounts this word is evil. There is One faith One Lord One Baptism and One Word.

  33. 9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

I need to be careful even of who I associate myself with. If I associate with the wrong people I can end up being on the wrong side of the battle, against God. I do not want to risk the chance of letting my will be against His will! I need to always allow God to direct my walk, to direct my steps each and everyday! I do not want to risk stepping in the wrong direction. And then find myself fighting against God. It is pretty hard to fight against someone if they are the one you are trusting to lead and guide your very steps. I need to always trust in God! And allow Him to be the one directing me! Praise the Lord! For His mercy endureth forever!

  34. Isaiah 8:19-22
19 When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. 21 Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God. 22 Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.

    Watch who you call friend

We as humans tend to tell our friends or our family members about our problems before we even come to tell God in prayer. Our first reaction is to fear, cry or complain.

What about our friends? If the closest people to you are telling you to look at your horoscope, or to get your palm read, or to some herb store to ask a spiritualist for some advice, they are full of darkness. They are the followers of satan himself. This is why so many people are so messed up. They hang out and take advise from ungodly people, and end up in a dead end, full of darkness, distressed, hungry.

2 Chronicles 7:14King James Version (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Run from those people that tell you to look for anyone but God. Repent! Get away from yoking yourself from people full of darkness.

  35. 13. Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. 14. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Is’-ra-el, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Je-ru’-sa-lem. 15. And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken. Praise the LORD !!!!

  36. Maher-shalal-hash-baz “swift is booty, speedy is prey”
symbolic name given by Isaiah by the Lord’s direction to Isaiah’s son; prophetic indication that Damascus and Samaria were soon to be plundered by the king of Assyria

“And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the Lord to me, Call his name Maher–shalal–hash–baz. For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When God wants something done it happens on his time schedule. The prophetess gave birth and they is was said that before the baby knows to cry these places will fall. It was a quick work.

  37. 13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

Let’s fear God and obey His commandments.

  38. 13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

I will keep myself accountable! I’m not afraid of the enemy and his works or his wicked ways, I have the fear of the lord. For the lord has all power and authority. My God is a way maker and his grace and mercy endure the forever. The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom and many more things of the lord. That is why the fear of the lord is real and is mighty.

  39. 14 “Then He shall be a sanctuary [a sacred, indestructible shelter for those who fear and trust Him];

God’s people were disobedient so the Lord brought the trial of Assyrian coming against them. The Lord allows us go through trials/test for us to build our trust in Him and recognize that He knows what’s best for us.

You did not create me to worry
You did not create me to fear
But You created me to worship daily
So Ima leave it all right here

My hands are raised because I surrender
Your will is what’s best for me
I worship You because You’re Jehovah Jireh
I bow before the King of Kings

No more crying no more complaining
I believe Your word is true
Lord You promised never to leave me lonely
So this is what I’m going to do

I will trust in You Lord
I will trust in You Lord
I will put my trust in You

  40. who are we to think that God will do what we want on our own schedules? we should always remember that he is God and we aren’t so we should let him be God we should worry about doing what he tells us to do. because if he says something is going to happen, or he makes a promise then surely that’s going to happen. because”God is no man that he should lie”,

  41. Josiah: 11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying
This reminded me of how there is a fine line drawn between the ungodly and the Church. Yes, we are supposed to be a light. Yes, we are like lambs among wolves. However what the sheep grow from or eat from is different than what the wolves eat from. Yes we eat physical food but we also partake of His word and should keep it in our hearts. Matthew 4:4 says “But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God.” So let us GO BE A LIGHT TO THIS WORLD without getting lost in this world!

  42. 13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

These scriptures just spoke the same message as in chapter 7 to trust God. These go a bit further in that the only thing I should fear and dread is God. He will be my sanctuary and place of refugee. And offense against those that come against me. God is great and Greatly to be praised.
