Zechariah 12

The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.

And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.

In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;

14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.

  1. 10 And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication, then they will look on Me whom they pierced, yes they will mourn for Him as one mourns for His only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

  2. Verse 8 CEV “I, the Lord God, will protect Jerusalem. Even the weakest person there will be as strong as David, and David’s kingdom will rule as though my very own angel were its leader.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 AMP “but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].”

Philippians 4:13 AMP “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”

  3. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Many people see God as an Angry God one that is full of Wrath find destruction ready to destroy anything that opposes him. And look at the scripture opportunity to show Grace and to defend his people, and every situation is just waiting on a repentant heart. God’s grace is sufficient if we truly desire it and it is readily available to anybody and everybody to turn away from everything that opposes God

  4. Zechariah 12:10 (English Amp) And I will pour out upon the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace or unmerited favor and supplication. And they shall look earnestly upon Me Whom they have pierced, and they shall mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness For Him as one who is in bitterness For his firstborn [ Rev.1-7] Behold, He is coming with every eye will see Him, Even those who pierced Him, and all the tribes of the earth shall gaze upon Him and beat their breasts and mourn and lament over Him.Even so [ must it be].Amen [ so be it]. We must get ourselves ready for his coming when we will Jesus face to face. Wow want glorious day !

  5. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. They will realize who their Messiah was and is in that day.

  6. 5 Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’ NIV

We are not strong of our own accord, but because the Lord Almighty is our God, and He works through us.

    Ephesians 3:
    16. That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by HIS SPIRIT in the inner man;

  8. 6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

  9. 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

Notice the Lord says He will make Jerusalem… Not that Jerusalem will make themselves. We need to remember that God will raise us up out of every situation. HE will make us an immovable rock if we stay devoted to Him. Troubles will come and things will try to sway us but God has strengthened us. We will not be moved!

  10. Zechariah 12:10, “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”

    St. John 19:34 & 37,
    34) But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
    37) And again another scripture saith, They shall look upon him whom they pierced.”

Rev. 1:7, “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

  11. Zechariah 13:7-9

7 The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

  12. 1 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
I find it interesting that God places the formation of the human spirit on the same level as the heavens and the foundation of the earth. Although it should come as no surprise since God considers man His crowning creation! For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
    Psalms 8:5-6

He also said we were fearfully and WONDERFULLY made. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
    Psalms 139:14 KJV
In fact, the Bible says God watched over every detail of our creation. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
    Psalms 139:13‭-‬16 NLT

  13. Josiah: 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
It is not good to go against things of God. This verse tells us that God was going to destroy every nation that came against Jerusalem. In our lives we do not need to worry if God is on our side. Yes, God will let us GO THROUGH things but only to make us stronger or more proved! So, let us GO BOLDLY IN JESUS NAME!

  14. There’s two things we can talk about right here; Gods power and love to protect Jerusalem and his love and mercy for the world.

“This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord: “This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit. I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah.

We’re reminded by the Lord that he created this earth he told the sea to stop at the shoreline he told the stars to hang over here and the moon to hang over there and the sun to sit right where it’s at. So when God says He’s gonna protect Jerusalem I don’t even know why the adversary would try to step against that.

“Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.”

For his grace is sufficient thee

  15. Zechariah 12

9 “On the Big Day, I’ll make a clean sweep of all the godless nations that fought against Jerusalem.

10-14 “Next I’ll deal with the family of David and those who live in Jerusalem. I’ll pour a spirit of grace and prayer over them. They’ll then be able to recognize me as the One they so grievously wounded—that piercing spear-thrust! And they’ll weep—oh, how they’ll weep! Deep mourning as of a parent grieving the loss of the firstborn child. The lamentation in Jerusalem that day will be massive, as famous as the lamentation over Hadad-Rimmon on the fields of Megiddo:

Prophecy concerning the return of Jesus

He will come to defend and restore His people. When the nation of Isreal begins to seek where is their Messiah they have been waiting for Jesus will accend from the Heavens to assist in their battle.

NIV 10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

    Grace and Supplication
A Spirit of intervention by Jesus Christ the natural and the spiritual the war we all fight daily. He is coming to our an end to the war and His grace will save the people who have been waiting for their Saviour to come. The battle will have been raging but Jesus Christ will come and bring the peace they have longed for . I am so glad that we can know the Saviour and that He calms the wars within the heart of man and through His grace and through the prayers of intercession souls can find the peace they long for. Zechariah is a prophecy to those who never accepted that Jesus was the Messiah but soon every knew shall now and every tongues confess that Jesus Christ is Lord ! Thank You Jesus.

  16. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

  18. God prtes the people that bilev in him in vers 8 it seds I that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem ; and he that is feeble among them at thet day shall be as David and the house of David shall be as the angel of the Lord before them.

  19. 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourners for his only son, and shall be bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn..
    ———
Well… God is good, and mercyful, he forgives and here it is being shown; conviction, repentance, supplication to the Lord. Because it’s necessary!

  20. 3 “On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves.”

I couldn’t help but remember the service, that Pastor asked for help to reach the next level of the ladder.

There are going to be times when we will have to ask for help to reach the next level. Without the help, we will only hurt ourselves which could result in pushing us back rather than forward.

Romans 12:4-5 “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.”

Without asking for help would be as useless as trying to walk on our big toe without the foot.

  21. 1 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

“My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do!” I see this intro as like God’s credentials or post-nominals – He is the creator. He made and controls all of Heaven and earth. He formed us: He can place us according to His divine will and purpose. With this in mind, God lays out His plan and seeing how it plays out, one would be a fool to contend with God.

Know who Your God is and don’t doubt Him; recognize His never ending list of credentials and see You serve a mighty God who loves you and wants to be your protector, your deliverer, your guidance, and so much more.

  22. “Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.
    Zechariah 12:10 NLT
Lord open the eyes of those who are spiritually blinded as you have opened ours to see the truth!
It is by your grace that called us to a place of repentance, and to have experienced such great salvation amd living life in obedience and relationship with you the Messiah my LORD.❤❤❤

  23. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

God’s mercy is great and he desires to pour out His grace upon us just like he will upon the house of David. We must receive that grace and kindness and allow God to bless us.

  24. “Then I will pour out a spirit [The Spirit] of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.
    Zechariah 12:10 NLT

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
    Luke 24:46‭-‬47‭, ‬49 KJV

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
    Acts 2:17 KJV

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
    Acts 2:4 KJV

And… the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
    Acts 19:6 KJV

The Spirit of Grace and Prayer was not just promised to the house of David, but it opened up a dispensation of Grace to all who would look on Christ with repentance and who would obey His death, burial, and resurrection. That Spirit is the promise (down payment) of His eternal grace in our lives.

Moreover, the Spirit we’ve received is also a Spirit of Prayer, enabling us to connect with God here while we wait for the promise of reunion up there. He has not left us comfortless, but has put His Spirit within us to intercede for us and to enable us to intercede for others. How great the grace of God is; He has given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness. Thank You, Jesus, for pouring out Your Spirit on us Gentiles as well.

  25. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

This is why we MUST ALWAYS be Jerusalem’s ally! For all nations that go against Jerusalem will be destroyed by God almighty! Pray for Jerusalem! Pray for Israel! May the be Peace and Prosperity in their land!!! In jesus Name Amen

  26. 8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

It would be a mighty sight to behold, with Israel raising up with power and authority. I just pray that our nation does not join the nations that come against Jerusalem, so that God does not seek to destroy America. But instead we stay a protector of Israel and rejoice when they have this victory.

  27. Save your Praise

As we read in vs. 7, the Lord said that he would save the tents of Judah First. How can you tell if a christian is struggling with something? You can usually tell by their praise. Are they as joyfully and excited when they Praise God? Has their attitude changed at all?
I say this because we all struggle, but we cannot allow our praise to weaver. Save your Praise, Save IT!!!! Save it for the one and only KING!

  28. AMP – 10 “I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace (unmerited favor) and supplication. And they will look at Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him as one who weeps bitterly over a firstborn. 11 In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of [the city of] Hadadrimmon in the Valley of [d]Megiddo [over beloved King [e]Josiah]. 12 The land will mourn, every family by itself; the [royal] family of the house of David by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan [David’s son] by itself and their wives by themselves; 13 the [priestly] family of the house of Levi by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of Shimei [grandson of Levi] by itself and their wives by themselves; 14 all the families that remain, each by itself, and their wives by themselves [each with an overwhelming individual regret for having blindly rejected their Messiah].

There will come a time when Israel will recognize that the prophesied Messiah had come, and they crucified Him. All this time they could have been living in relationship with Him but they are still searching for Him to come.

We would have been grafted in don’t have to wait for a second chance. We have been give the opportunity to build that relationship now, be filled with the Spirit, be baptized in His name and carry the gospel to others around us.

The Lord will turn back to the Israelite people and give them another opportunity to have relationship with Him, but we don’t have the second chance. It’s now or never.

  29. iLove the Kingdom

1 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

Wow, the “burden” of the Lord is a powerful statement. The Word “burden” is as follows:
    04853
    TWOT – 1421d,1421e
    מַשָּׂא
    massa’

    mas-saw’
    from (05375)
from ; a burden; specifically, tribute, or (abstractly) porterage; figuratively, an utterance, chiefly a doom, especially singing; mental, desire.

This is the reason why preachers carry such a heavy load until they preach thus sayest the Lord. The Lord is the one who adds the heavy load and the real goal is ultimately to get folks to repent.

  30. THY KINGDOM COME
    PRAISE FIRST

7 The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

The eternal heavens will be filled with PRAISE. A nonstop continual jubilee of glee and adoration for our LORD and Savior JESUS. This fact establishes PRAISE to JESUS as The Kingdom culture of attitude and demonstration of appreciation and adoration.

We know and understand in the WORD of GOD that Judah means or is defined as Praise. What caught my eye today is the fact that those who were identified as or by Judah or Praise were the tents or houses that The LORD saved FIRST.

Yet another motivation and inspration to Seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD and especially through our PRAISES to JESUS.

Sunday is coming, lets make up in our mind and purpose in our hearts today that we are going to Bless the LORD at all times and his Praise shall continually be in our mouth.

Psalms 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

So when Sunday arrives we can approach The KINGS House in the expectation of PRAISE.

Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

    Thy Kingdom Come
    Thy Will Be Done

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  31. ““The Lord will give victory to the rest of Judah first, before Jerusalem, so that the people of Jerusalem and the royal line of David will not have greater honor than the rest of Judah. On that day the Lord will defend the people of Jerusalem; the weakest among them will be as mighty as King David! And the royal descendants will be like God, like the angel of the Lord who goes before them! For on that day I will begin to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. “Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12:7-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  32. Imagine the day when God ‘will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem…’

There may be many conflicting opinions today regarding the tenets of religion, but in that day when even Israel finally recognizes that Jesus did indeed come for them, it will be settled. There will be no more debates about whom God is or what God desires. There will be no more discussions over whether we really needed to live our lives in a fashion that is pleasing unto God. There will be no more wondering our questions… but it will also be too late to make a change.

That is not the day we want to find out that our lives are in need of restoration. That is not the day we need to realize that our dedication wasn’t all that our could’ve been. That is not the day to fall short… because it will be too late to make a change.

So ‘Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.’ The time to pray is today! The time to mediate upon his word is today! The time to bestir ourselves and make a difference is today! So let us exhort and encourage one another to be all that we can today!

  33. 8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.

  34. ““On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a flame that sets a woodpile ablaze or like a burning torch among sheaves of grain. They will burn up all the neighboring nations right and left, while the people living in Jerusalem remain secure.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    http://bible.com/116/zec.12.6.nlt

My God will give me victory over my enemy even in the midst of my own trial. God has grace and mercy everlasting, God is my strong tower. In Jesus name.

  35. Let the fire burn

6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

When someone catches on fire it is not something that can be ignored. If you were in a crowd of 1000 people and only one of them were set ablaze, everyone would know it. All eyes on the one that is on fire! Who is it going to get next? This is the way our walk with God should be. No matter if we are the only one around living for God, our torch should burn bright and start catching other people on fire When we embrace our flame and fan it with prayer and lifestyle worship it will start to spread and become a wild fire. We are not waiting on God tonsend the fire, it is already inside of us. Stir up the gift that is inside of you. Let that fire burn

  36. Zechariah 12:10

‘And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

Prophetic words of God, speaking of his crucifixion as Christ.

God pour out a spirit of revelation upon Fort Worth. That people from all walks of Christendom would seek to know the Oneness doctrine. To want to know the revelation of your name!

    In the name of Jesus!

  37. 3 “On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves.”

We will go against God’s plan, but just end up hurting ourselves.

  38. “And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we trust in the Lord he will lead us. And with Him although we maybe weak He is strong. It is His power that leads us

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  39. 12 A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel.

The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares:

The Lord of beauty, majesty, power, love, and of everything. Jesus is the only one that can do it all!!! This reminds me of how big God is!!! God is bigger and mightier than any problem!!! Nothing is impossible for God!!! Let’s not let anyone or anything steal our faith of how great God is!!

  40. “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In bible studay today we talked about how Solomon lead the children of Israel into their punishment, but God waited out of respect for David. It wasn’t until Solomon’s children took over that the nation expirenced judgment. For two long years the children of Israel were trembling in their own homes as their city was under siege. Then as the country fell and it’s king was taken ransom, some fled. Oh how the Bible keeps the truth of God’s words!

  41. “On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a flame that sets a woodpile ablaze or like a burning torch among sheaves of grain. They will burn up all the neighboring nations right and left, while the people living in Jerusalem remain secure.
    Zechariah 12:6 NLT

Like a flame. That our praise be constant and always like a flame! A flame that burns up all those around. There is something so special about Judah or praise that brings forth the Fire of God. May our desire is to be Worshipers in Spirit and Truth. May we be on fire. May the praise team know the great privilege and importance to praise like a flame. Burn in is God, burn till will be one with your fire.

  42. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Gods people will mourn the one they have pierced with the intensity of a parent who has lost their only child they had been blessed with. He lists how each land will mourn by clan and the significance is in each family group. This chapter depicts the depth of grief that accompanies the realization of the significance of Jesus Christ’s atoning death, and pierced by our own sins. This should lead us into repentance and submission into God and his Will.

  43. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

One day, everyone will see that Jesus is God. They will see that He died for us and sacrificed Himself for us because of love. It’s not too late to seek God and find salvation. Jesus desires to have a relationship with us and to glorify Himself. Let’s give it to Him, He bought us with a price.

  44. 6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

The praise leaders of the church do a fantastic job of doing just this. As we worship and the Holy Ghost moves…

  45. glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.

    Shall the Lord defend?
Yes, God will defend His people. God is always on outside fighting for us. In our moments of weakness He makes us strong. Remember compared to Goliath David looked to be the weaker vessel but with the Lords help and David’s willingness to learn how to war and tend to sheep He prepared himself to contend with giants.

The small fights will train us for the bigger giants so don’t give up.

  46. 7 The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah

Nobody but GOD gets the glory!!!

  47. 8On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem; the weakest among them will be as mighty as King David! And the royal descendants will be like God, like the angel of the LORD who goes before them!

The Lord will be with you, even when your weak, he will make you strong. You’ll have no fear and will give you courage to face the enemy head on. Remember, God is always with you.
