Matthew 12

At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

16 And charged them that they should not make him known:

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

  1. Verses 31-32 MSG “There’s nothing done or said that can’t be forgiven. But if you deliberately persist in your slanders against God’s Spirit, you are repudiating the very One who forgives. If you reject the Son of Man out of some misunderstanding, the Holy Spirit can forgive you, but when you reject the Holy Spirit, you’re sawing off the branch on which you’re sitting, severing by your own perversity all connection with the One who forgives.” These verses reminded me of our Sunday School lesson yesterday. We learned how Peter went from a denial to ministry. Peter’s life shows God’s life-changing power to forgive and transform us. Jesus is ready to forgive, restore, and change us into something greater.

  2. 33 Either make the tree good and it’s fruit good, or else make the tree and it’s fruit bad, for a tree is known by it’s fruit.

  3. ‘Shut up Michelle’

But I tell you, on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak. For by your words [reflecting your spiritual condition] you will be justified and acquitted of the guilt of sin; and by your words [rejecting Me] you will be condemned and sentenced.”
    MATTHEW 12:36‭-‬37

It is at times that you just want to speak up/out.
But it’s within that split second that i say out loud ‘shut up Michelle .’ There are some that laugh at me, some will say ‘just say what you want to say,’ then you have the wise ones that stop and agree with you in keeping quiet! These are the ones that i have a lot of respect for. Why, you may ask. Because they’re also are looking out for my salvation.

This is how you will actually know if you’re walking in the desires of the flesh or in the spirit.

But no one can tame the human tongue; it is a restless evil [undisciplined, unstable], full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. These things, my brothers, should not be this way [for we have a moral obligation to speak in a manner that reflects our fear of God and profound respect for His precepts]. Does a spring send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.
    JAMES 3:8‭-‬12 AMP

  4. Matthew 12:22-23 (English Amp) Then a blind and dumb man under the power of a demon was brought to Jesus, and He cured him, so that the blind and dumb man both spoke and saw. [23] And all the [ crowds of] people were stunned with bewildered wonder and said, This cannot be the Son of David, can it ? Because of there unbelief David told them it driven our by the Spirit of God and than the kingdom of God will come upon you will [ before toy expected it. There is nothing my God can do. Be bless in Jesus name.

  5. 24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

No matter what we do we will never please or make everyone happy, there will always always be be someone who has something to say negative against us. It’s a personal mountain I have had to learn to fight against bc I like to please people but out of my life experience, I’ve learn that if I please God in what I do, then and only then will I be at peace and have nothing else to worry about.

  6. 25. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

    26. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

    27. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

    28. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the KINGDOM of God is COME unto you.

    Kingdom Unity
There are already enough outside forces trying to tear us apart. We can’t give these forces any inside help. If we build each other up instead of tearing each other down, we can stand united against the enemy.

    Ephesians 4:
    1. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

    2. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love

    3. Endeavouring to keep the UNITY of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

    31. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

    32. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

  7. 44Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order.

This sounds like repentance. If evil, temptation, pride, etc tries to enter your heart it won’t find it. After repentance your heart is cleaned, swept from any sin and in order. You have decided to do good and follow Jesus. And will need continuous cleaning daily to have a righteous heart.

  8. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

  9. 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Lord knows how may times I have read this chapter and never noticed this verse. He spoke so clearly that he will spend 3 days and 3 nights buried. In the same way the disciples that walk with Him daily, after the crucifixion when He resurrected walked with Him and did not recognize Him until He cut bread. Let’s open our eyes so we may see the signs He has left for us as we await His return. Keep our eyes looking up, from where our help comes, let’s not miss what He has instored for us.

  10. 43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

Do you ever sit and think about where Gods brought you from. If this don’t make you think about then I don’t know what will.
I was delivered from a number of things.
    Depression
    Alcohol
    Tobacco
    Drugs
That’s 4 things right off the top of my head and they were all pretty bad so I don’t even wanna imagine these things 7 times worse.
I can still remember when all these things were pulled right out of me.
I opened my eyes and it was like scales were lifted off of them.
I pray today that we can share our testimony to those in need of a Word. People that need their faith to be lifted up.
    Sometimes that’s all they need..

  11. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

Jesus knows what to say and when to say it! These pharasies were so dumb to say Jesus was the enemy and they thought the enemy was cashing out the enemy. A Kingdom that stands will stand in unity but a Kingdom will fall when divided!

  12. Matthew 12:20

    How compassionate is our Savior.

20 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he has brought justice through to victory.

The Pharisees were looking at every fault they could find and in the midst of all of their accusations Jesus shows true live to remind them He cane to care for the sheep not to destroy them. He came to heal the broken the wounded who feel they are no longer capable of anything due to their weight of sin or just the cares of life. He didn’t break the the bruised reef off from the plants but he healed it . He reignited the smoking flax . Too many times we the people of God look as the Pharisees . Jesus Christ looked beyond the results of brokenness and healed everyone He touched. What attitude do I portray to this world will I Break the bruised reef and Todd out the flax that has lost its flame or show the compassion of our Gentle Savior. He came that all men and women could be healed. Spiritually, Emotionally and Physically. He wants to make us whole. Thank you Jesus .

  13. 21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Today we know he is greater than Solomon, the son of David, healer, deliverer and provider. There is power in the name of Jesus.

  14. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
    Matthew 12:20 KJV

When you’re bruised and bent and can’t find the strength to stand, when you’re battered inside and can barely hold up your head, when your fire has gone out and a thin trail of smoke is all that is left of your once bright flame, there is yet hope of a comeback. God doesn’t break off the bruised reed; He doesn’t snuff out the smoking flax. God can heal, restore, renew. God can bring victory to your impossible situation.

  15. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Another version simply translated gathereth to work but when you click on the little word for a definition it also means to lead. So in other words, if you’re not working by helping lead people to God you’re just like the enemy leading them astray. Don’t think it’s that serious? Here’s the MSG version:

30 This is war, and there is no neutral ground. If you’re not on my side, you’re the enemy; if you’re not helping, you’re making things worse. (MSG)

“This is war,” and what you do reveals who you serve, who you work for, and who’s side you’re on. Choose you this day whom ye will serve!

  16. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

What kingdom are you working for?
You cannot work for the kingdom of this world and the Kingdom of God, for you will surly fall.
You are either with God or against Him.
I choose to be with Him!

When we decide to serve Him and operate in His Spirit, then shall the Kingdom of God come and be established in us!

  17. iLove the Kingdom
0 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Wow, even Jesus gave Bible Stories from the Book of Jonah. This proves the accuracy of the Bible and also proves that he was literally swallowed by the fish and not just having a vision as some scholars suggest. The Word of God is powerful and every scripture accurate and one day the entire 66 books will judge each of us whether we believe it or not.

  18. “And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Now more than ever do we as families and as a church need unity. We need to speak the same thing. We need to display Godly character to all who see our actions. And another area we need unity is the kingdom of our mind, will and emotions. It must be in a agreement to you baptism and filling of God’s spirit.

  19. “But some Pharisees saw them do it and protested, “Look, your disciples are breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Only religions should people watch and inspect every move of people. They want to catch you fail. They want to tell their friends that you messed up. They want you to fail.

“Is it lawful to make food on the sabbath day?”

    Crazy.

  20. THY KINGDOM COME
    WE ARE FAMILY

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done, should be a daily prayer and mission for us. Here is a little motivation in this case. JESUS said when we DO the WILL of our Father, WE ARE FAMILY.

To DO means to hear instruction, follow instruction and complete assignments. When we seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD, we place our ear close to HIS mouth. When we hear, we place our desire close to HIS heart. When we feel, we place our hands and feet close to HIS.

We become ONE with JESUS, we adapt Kingdom VISION, Kingdom PURPOSE and Kingdom AUTHORITY.

Lets GO do the WILL of GOD today and GATHER souls for JESUS.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

  21. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
    Matthew 12:36‭-‬37 KJV
These verses remind us that Words are powerful! One day they will be judged. They have life giving power and the power to bring death. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 KJV. Words can justify us or condemn us so we must carefully choose our words and pray like David. Set a watch, O Lord , before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Psalms 141:3 KJV. Lord help us to speak words of life, love, and faith in Jesus name!

  22. 34 – 35 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. NLT

This is why we must guard our heart!
    You guard a treasure!

Its like they say trash in = trash out.

  23. 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

    Luke 22:42
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Jona and Jesus both went through the struggle of their will versus the Father’s will. Yet Jesus overcome his flesh to fulfill the will of the father. Jona as pastor preached last night went the long route to fulfill the fathers will which cause him to be shipwrecked in a mess of vomit back on the place he was running from.

Jesus took the cup He was given from the Father and sumitted to the father’s will the first time. Let us learn to allow ourselves to walk in obedience to the father’s plan for our lives and see many saved.

  24. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

This is the verse I think of when people protest or or in the streets or ask me to join them. If Jesus did not, strive or cry in the streets, why should I? I think it is far wiser to follow Jesus example than the one the world shows around us.

  25. Josiah: 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
What we say matters. Sometimes we may just want to say something to someone in anger when we should just turn the other cheeck. You can save a whole lot of trouble by not gossipping, or lying. If we tell the truth we do not have to worry about God’s judgement and what story we told to who. So, let us GO BE AN EXAMPLE TO THIS WORLD!

  26. A divided house

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Since our theme is “THY KINGDOM COME,” let’s talk about unity.

When I go to work there is an order of which we assist out clients. From just the simple Cashing a check, or doing a deposit, to opening new accounts and doing loans, or greater having a manger that needs to step in. But if the teller who only knows how to cash a check tries to open an account, it will probably not properly been opened.

In the Kingdom of God we all have a place and purpose. We need each other, to do our part. I am not a pastor, so i would not do well to pastor yet. And a child that is just learning piano, may not do so well in playing drums for a camp meeting service.
But I do well in helping lead our youth ministry with our Committee, and that child can reach their friends at their school. We all have a place and when we do our jobs, the Kingdom Of God is first established and then it grows. We cannot be divided in these last days. We are too close to let little differences come between us.

Same focused on souls, and His Kingdom Will Come.

  27. “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
    Matthew 12:43‭-‬45 NIV

I have seen this played out so many times. There’s so much truth and they scriptures and it’s very sad but it happens this way. When I was bound with addiction I tried so many times to quit and to do it on my own and I would do good for just a little while. That never lasted. I would always end up worse off then I had been. That went on for years until I finally got so bad that I hit absolute rock-bottom and I finally decided to submit my life to God. He had been crying for me, reaching for me, calling for me and I always told him I could do it on my own. I was stubborn and bound in sin. But I finally surrendered and submitted and he reached down and pulled me out of the Miry clay and set my feet upon the rock of Truth and established my Goings. My life is forever changed and it does not resemble anything of what it used to be. I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I am eternally grateful. You saved me remade me rearranged me. I’ll never be the same. I’m so in love with you. You are my God and my king. Thank You Jesus. You save me.

  28. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

  29. Matthew 13:34-37

  30. a flexible heart versus an inflexible ritual

6-8 “There is far more at stake here than religion. If you had any idea what this Scripture meant—‘I prefer a flexible heart to an inflexible ritual’—you wouldn’t be nitpicking like this. The Son of Man is no lackey to the Sabbath; he’s in charge.”

The point isn’t who is breaking which rule and who is getting away with it. Sometimes, we put the focus on keeping the rules and rituals, while God focuses on the person or the heart. Jesus told his disciples that it was the heart that gave meaning to the words that He spoke, not a dictionary. In other words, what is going on in the heart will show up in our life.

Ask yourself: “Why do I keep God’s rules? Is it because I want to, or because I have to?” What Jesus told the Pharisees was that He IS the rules. If Jesus is the rules and you follow Him, you will follow the rules. It’s that simple. What happens when you sincerely follow Jesus yet you make a decision to not follow the rules?

Mercy. A grace so rich and so free and so full of love reaches into our heart and reminds us of who we are to Him. He heals our broken heart and restores our soul. He gets us back on our feet again which should bring us to our knees. That’s why He prefers a flexible heart to an inflexible ritual.

  31. St. Matthew 12:3, 5, & 7
    3) But he said unto them, Have ye not read…
    5) Or have ye not read in the law…
    7) But if ye had known what this meaneth…

It’s good to read the Word, but we must also have an understanding of it.
Not only should we read it, but study it.
1 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

  32. 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

We are known by our fruits. If evil or sin is continually in our thoughts then this will be shown in our words, actions, and fruits. I need to always be living that which is holy; not halfheartedly living righteously. God has done so much for me, truly there is no reason why my life, my heart should be showing forth any fruits but good. God is good! Praise the Lord!

  33. There was a popular phrase among children that sticks and stones could break their bones but words could never hurt them. We know just as they likely did that this wasn’t so. Words can be some of the most damaging of afflictions. God would agree and adjures us ‘But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.’ Notice that the threshold here is not upon our weighty discussions, but upon every idle word that we speak.

God would apparently like us to understand that words do indeed matter! James even points out how great a fire such a little member as our tongue can kindle. If we’re supposed to be the ambassadors of Christ, perhaps we should consider that people will look to us even in our idle times. They know how we’re expected to conduct ourselves at the church, but what about on the job, or in their school, or over at the park, or all those other places where we go. Will they still hear words that display the love and character of the God we serve? They should be able to tell they’re in the presence of a Christian, but do our words and how we choose to conduct ourselves speak the same testimony.

Of course, if even our words matter that much to God, then what about his words! If he cares about every idle word that proceeds from our mouths, how much more importance is placed upon the words that do not return unto him without accomplishing the purpose for which he chose to speak. We need to esteem God’s Word… they are the path of light! They lead the way to heaven and ever warn us of the pitfalls that will lead us into hell. We live by His Word that we might have life… and we use our words to speak of that life to whosoever will listen of his goodness and truth!

  34. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Oh how it matters what we say… it is the Word that will judge our words and actions. What are we feeding ourselves? We must surrender our hearts and minds to God and His Word to be transformed. That the things that we speak, give life to in sound, are those that edify and please God.

    Romans 12:2

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

  35. 31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

  36. If we want to be Family, we must
Do the will of the Father in
Heaven, and His yoke is easy
    and His burden light.
And He will even help us!

  37. It seems as if Matthew, here taught; by the Spirit passes in quick review the many names and offices of the Load Jesus : is son of man ; Load of the sabbath; My servant ; My beloved; Son of Daivd greater then the temple greater than Jonas; greater than Solomon. He does so in order to show the enormity of the sin of refusing to accept Him and accord shim his righte.

  38. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Jesus is trying to explain kingdom vision to a blind generation of religious leaders. They are looking at every little thing that he and his disciples do to see what they can accuse him of and find fault in them. The enemy of our souls is called the accuser of the brethren for this exact reason. If they spent more time seeking God then trying to find something wrong in him they would find healing and eternal life. The greatest sin is rejecting God and his Holy Spirit. Jesus was always walking in unity they were too blind to see it but the house that stands divided will fall much like their own. Jesus is more important than the temple because he is the one we worship in and outside the temple walls. His death gave us the salvation to live eternally with him if we live our lives for him. In the end each physical structure of a building we use to worship in as an assembly of the church will be just that. What I mean is we don’t worship the walls or windows or pretty lights, its Jesus we worship and when he calls us home to heaven then we will cry holy, holy, holy before the Lord. We can’t get so caught up in rules and regulations that we miss what serving God is all about. We don’t need more church police calling out every downfall but lifting up our brethren when we see them down. Instead of talking about others faults how about encouraging them or praying for those we see struggling. A house divided will fall and a house much like any ministry that stands in unity can stand any trial. If my leg is against my foot it will be hard to stand or walk. I can limp and drag it or use crutches until it heals but until then it causes stress on the rest of the body to compensate. In the same way if I continue to cut down my brother or sister they will feel disconnected, scornful and may become unresponsive. Unity and standing firm take backbone and meekness, not back biting and tail bearing.

  39. Adoption

When you become a child of God, your family changes as well. My closest family are not natural blood relatives rather supernatural blood relatives. It is true that we cannot choose our family but we know that God can. Where he placed us is where we belong. Our family is where God places us.

  40. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

We cannot hide anything from the Lord. We may put on a front to our family and friends, but Jesus knows the very intent of the heart. It’s time to be real – Be united with what the Lord is doing, and be involved in what the Lord is doing. We have examples of the day of Pentecost when they were in one place, one accord everyone of them left full of the Holy Ghost. That is our desire for POFW that every service everyone leaves full of the Holy Ghost – so let’s walk in agreement, in unity because if we are not, God knows our thoughts and will reveal discord – disunity.

  41. 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Jesus is with those who seek and fulfill His will. Believing and keeping the gospel to one’s self isn’t enough. We live to know Him and make Him known. God’s heart is in souls. When we reach out to those who are lost and bring them to Christ, we do God’s will and please Him.

  42. At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.

2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

    3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Being in the corn-fields, the disciples began to pluck the ears of corn: the law of God allowed it, Deuteronomy 23:25. This was slender provision for Christ and his disciples; but they were content with it. The Pharisees did not quarrel with them for taking another man’s corn, but for doing it on the sabbath day. Christ came to free his followers, not only from the corruptions of the Pharisees, but from their unscriptural rules, and justified what they did. The greatest shall not have their lusts indulged, but the meanest shall have their wants considered. Those labours are lawful on the sabbath day which are necessary, and sabbath rest is to froward, not to hinder sabbath worship. Needful provision for health and food is to be made; but when servants are kept at home, and families become a scene of hurry and confusion on the Lord’s day, to furnish a feast for visitors, or for indulgence, the case is very different. Such things as these, and many others common among professors, are to be blamed. The resting on the sabbath was ordained for man’s good, Deuteronomy 5:14. No law must be understood so as to contradict its own end. And as Christ is the Lord of the sabbath, it is fit the day and the work of it should be dedicated to him.
