Deuteronomy 29

These are the words of the covenant, which the Lordcommanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.

And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;

The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:

Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the Lord your God.

And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:

And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,

11 Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:

12 That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day:

13 That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;

15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the Lordour God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:

16 (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;

17 And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)

18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

20 The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven.

21 And the Lord shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the Lord hath laid upon it;

23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the Lord overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

24 Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the Lord done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?

25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:

27 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:

28 And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

  1. Verses 9-19 MSG “Diligently keep the words of this Covenant. Do what they say so that you will live well and wisely in every detail. You are all standing here today in the Presence of God, your God—the heads of your tribes, your leaders, your officials, all Israel: your babies, your wives, the resident foreigners in your camps who fetch your firewood and water—ready to cross over into the solemnly sworn Covenant that God, your God, is making with you today, the Covenant that this day confirms that you are his people and he is God, your God, just as he promised you and your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I’m not making this Covenant and its oath with you alone. I am making it with you who are standing here today in the Presence of God, our God, yes, but also with those who are not here today. You know the conditions in which we lived in Egypt and how we crisscrossed through nations in our travels. You got an eyeful of their obscenities, their wood and stone, silver and gold junk-gods. Don’t let down your guard lest even now, today, someone—man or woman, clan or tribe—gets sidetracked from God, our God, and gets involved with the no-gods of the nations; lest some poisonous weed sprout and spread among you, a person who hears the words of the Covenant-oath but exempts himself, thinking, “I’ll live just the way I please, thank you,” and ends up ruining life for everybody.” We must diligently (in a way that shows care and conscientiousness in one’s work or duties) keep the words of this Covenant with the Lord. We cannot afford to let our guard down or allow anything to lead us astray. We must stay alert, recognizing evil for what it is and weed it out before it spreads.

  2. 19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

    Romans‬ ‭1:28‬ ‭
    “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”

    That is one bad spot To be on, That is the spot that not a whole lot of people get to come back, Or at least fully recover.

    Like the Children of Israel, POFW has seen too much and come too far to let anything come between us and what God has planned for us.

  4. 26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:

  5. 5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

    When you allow the Lord to lead you, he will take care of you. You don’t have to worry about things being undone because will take care of it. It’s time for the people of God to realize the power he possesses. There is nothing to hard for my God to do.

  6. 4 Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
    5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
    6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the Lord your God.

    We don’t see every blessing that we have. She reminds me of a story about angels that traveling from one place to the next, the first house a stop to the man was very generous and kind to them and when they woke up his only cow had died the night before, then went to the next house and the man treated them like garbage but let them sleep in the basement. During the night when Angel woke up to the sound of the other fixing a hole in the man’s wall. The next one that got up and left. Troubled, the angel asked his friend about the two guests they had just encountered. He didn’t say it right that the man that had been kind of them has lost his cow but the man who had been unkind received better treatment by fixing his wall. The Angel reveal to him that the death angel had come to the first one for the man and the angel told him to take the cow instead, and the other one he had patched up a hole to hide the valuable stuff that the very unkind man would not see it. The moral of the story is we don’t always know what’s going underneath the surface in our lives. That’s why it is so vital that we trust and love the Lord thy God with all of our hearts minds and strengths and I understand let the things that happen to us are for a reason and sometimes there a blessing in disguise

  7. My God reigns, he is the author a finisher of our lives. He will keep you safe and warm and cool at the right times. Stay close to him and victory will come alot!

  8. 2 Moses caused all the people to come together. Then he said to them: You have seen what the Lord did to the king of Egypt, to his officers and to his country.
    3 You saw with your own eyes all the great and powerful things that he did.
    4 But until now the Lord has not let you understand. Your eyes do not really see and your ears do not really hear.
    5 The Lord says, ‘I led you through this desert for 40 years. Your clothes and shoes are still fresh and good.
    6 You did not eat bread or drink any alcohol. I am the Lord your God. I wanted you to know that I am your God.’
    Deuteronomy 29:2-6 EASY

    The Lord our God has asked us not just to obey his comments but to listen to what he has commanded us to do. We need to listen with our ears and see with our eyes what the Lord our God is doing for us.

  9. 4 Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
    5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

    This should have been enough for them to realize God was with them every step of the way, yet they doubted every time they could.
    When we are walking through the dessert sometimes we dont see the clear picture, that God is right there with us. His promises are true and his plans are perfect.

  10. 18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

    Sometimes we lose sight of whom we serve, but when i think of ALL HIS goodness…..there is no way HE is a god, BUT HE IS THE GOD!!! Here in the Bible it is written God and not god. I feel it is important that when i write on social media, text or a letter, GOD is to be wriitten with a Capital letter and not to made out just a little god!!! People may think we are talking about one of those little pagan gods, or idk but we need more people to know JESUS!!!

  11. 2 And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;

    3 The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:

    4 Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

    God is with us every single second. You should know that with every temptation God is with you to help you push through it. We should listen to the Lord thy God’s commandments with ours ears and see them with our eyes.

  12. 3The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: 4Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. 5And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot. 6Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.

    I am so reminded everyday of the provisions of the Lord. Here Moses was reminding the children of Israel that they never had to go without while they were journeyed through the wilderness. Some times the provisions of God may not appear to us that it is enough, but we never go without as long as we trust and depend on him. I find that his grace and mercy is a fresh every morning and I have breath in my body, that to me is enough for me to trust him and rely on his provision.

    I find that we can not out-give God no matter how hard we try. I believe that when we look at the circumstance that surrounds us today, we are not I’ll equipped to handle them but we have everything that we need. If God be for us then who or what in this world can be against us. Remember we are not alone.

  13. 25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

    How many of us would show disgust for a gift right in front of the person who gave it to us? How many of us would say no thank you and toss it to the side or give it back? Probably none of us, so why would we ever do that to our God? Be grateful and thankful everyday for the gift He has given, the sacrifice He has made, and fulfill the desire He has to daily find us in prayer.

  14. 25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

    26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:

    27 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:

    28 And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

    29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    Our God is a jealous God! He is the ONLY LIVING GOD!! Worthy of all of our adoration. Our attention should only be Him, our priority should only be Him, our first love should always be Him!!! We do not need anything else as long as we have Him! He is our God, our Provider, Our Defender, Our Redeemer, Our Physician, He is ALL WE NEED AND MORE!!! He is CHRIST JESUS!!!

  15. Deuteronomy 29
    18 Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

    19 When such a person hears the words of this oath and they invoke a blessing on themselves, thinking, “I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way,” they will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry.

    Bitterness can destroy an entire family if left unattended.. it goes deep and will try to destroy anyone and everyone within it’s’ path. It is ugly painful and bold. You cannot remove it from anyone but yourself. The only way to destroy this poison is through forgiveness and love . I must search me and allow God to use His magnifying glass His flashlight to search in every room of my heart. Bitterness buried itself deep and only the great Physician can root it out . When His Hands take a hold of your heart and compassion begins to root out every ugly thought pain affliction healing begins to flow . It is such a beautiful cleansing that takes place. His Balm of peace has now began the process of a new heart . He takes out the Stoney heart and gives you a heart of flesh. Guard your heart and thoughts and when encountering someone with such a disease love them and never allow their venomous sickness to lure you into the same disease.. it can be contagious.
    Prayer love and the Word protect yourself and allow God to bring healing to the infected . Some only come out through prayer and fasting but there can be healing! Love Lifted me when nothing else could help Love Lifted me!
    God’s love is worth protecting remember it’s about Him and not us and if we recommit daily the covenant we have made with Him nothing can separate us from His Love! Oh beautiful and faithful are His Promises!
    Live Jesus Give Jesus. None of us are perfect it’s our choice to become bitter or better . I Corinthians 13

  16. 18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

    God lead the Israelites out of Egypt, a type of the world and it’s systems. He chose them as the people to enter into the lands he promised their forefathers. Even as blessed as these people are, having survived the 40 years travel through the wilderness, some may turn astray. It says “that he bless himself in his heart” for this is a heart condition. Not giving God the glory or praise when He blesses us is wicked. For that turning away will lead to His jealousy and anger, blotting out his name from under heaven.

  17. 10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,
    11 Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:
    12 That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day:

    We should enter into a covenant with the Lord. I am so happy that we have a Pastor that helps us very year enter into a covenant with the Lord. I love that we also do this a a leadership team and church family. We enter into our covenants united just as the Bible tells us to. Before our elders and officers, family heads, all the men, women and children, even in front of strangers. They may not understand but we do. “That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day”

    29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    Some people can see miracle after miracle service after service and still be blind and still be faithless. It’s written right here in the scriptures and I think most of us have experienced it for ourselves as well. We know “God can do anything” but we are not confident He will do it for us”.

    God is not a respecter of persons. He answers faith. I pray the blinders will come off the eyes and we would receive what is rightfully ours

    THE WAY OF INCREASE

    9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

    Covenants or agreements are a type of commitment that leads us to increase. The Kingdom of GOD is founded and built on TRUTH. TRUTH is demonstrated by commitment to that. Covenant is an agreement to be truthful or faithful to an agreed set of rules, guidelines or responsibilities.

    We practice this at The POFW with our Discipleship, Leadership and Ministry covenants that are currently in place. The WORD of GOD states that to “keep” or honor and obey the words of a covenant will bring prosperity in ALL that you DO.

    ALL that you DO. Everywhere and in everything. To prosper means to increase or grow. May JESUS help us to remember that ALL we DO has the opportunity to PROSPER and GROW if we will commit to keep and do what we agreed to do.

    May the LORD JESUS prosper us today as we keep our commitments to HIM.

  20. ‘“Therefore, obey the terms of this covenant so that you will prosper in everything you do. ”
    Deuteronomy 29:9

    If you could do one that would change your life for the better, would you do it?
    Want to prosper in EVERYTHING you do? Obey God!
    It seems simple in concept but could be life-changing.

  21. AMP – 14 “It is not with you alone that I am making this covenant and this oath, 15 but with those [future Israelites] who are not here with us today, as well as with those who stand here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God

    Repeatedly Moses reminds the Israelites where God brought them from, what He provided for them and the covenant He made with them bringing them out of Egypt. Yet, here we find another covenant God is making with them, all hinging on them serving Him with all their heart, mind, soul and strength.

    God looks at the “end” of a thing and then works His way backwards to get to the beginning. He was making this new additional covenant with the Israelites, not only for them, but for generations to come.

    The disciplines that we develop and observe for ourselves and our families will last for generations to come if we instill them not only with our mouth but also with our actions. Too many times we live on the fringe of “what do I have to do to get by” or “I don’t think that is necessary so they can live a separated life, but I’m not.” These attitudes will produce the same attitude but to a greater measure in our children and grandchildren. As each generation some spiritual disciplines, we are slowly removing anchors that were established many years ago and eventually we won’t believe or uphold anything.

    It’s time we evaluate the spiritual disciplines in our lives – be all in! Live for God with all we have, and instill the same love for God and the things of God in our children. Should God tarry, our children and grandchildren are going to have to pass these Godly disciplines to their children and they need something to pass on.

  22. “For forty years I led you through the wilderness, yet your clothes and sandals did not wear out.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/deu.29.5.nlt

    Testimony after testimony we read how God always provides and he never left us completely astray. Today we still yet struggle to believe He’s gonna make a way when there is no way. Why is it that we say we have to see it to believe it but we can’t say I gotta read it to believe it. If the Bible says it then it means it came to pass. Let’s go in faith in Jesus name!

  23. Matthew Henry Commentary:
    “In spite of all they had experienced (verses 2-3), Israel was spiritually blind to the significance of what the Lord had done for them, lacking spiritual understanding, even as Moses was speaking… The Lord had not given them an understanding heart, simply because the people had not penitently sought it (compare 2 Chron. 7:14).

    It is as if they are blind and deaf. The miracles are soon forgotten. They are a people of little understanding. It seems nothing will cause them to have faith in God, the way they need to. Their hearts are hard, and they have scales over their eyes and ears.”

    This makes me wonder if God’s miracles can become common to us and we get so used to them that they are no longer significant! Every miracle IS significant and the life it changes should cause us all to rejoice. It says that God has given us favor and we should rejoice over every single move of God in the lives of others because we are 1 body. Whether the miracles occur in Thailand, China or here at home, God is up to something! He is building his Church, getting it ready to go.

  25. Deuteronomy 29:10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, Your little ones, you wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of the wood unto the drawer of the water: That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day: That he may establish thee today for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God,as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

    29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

  26. 29:29 the secret things belong the Lord our God,: but those things which are reveal belong unto us, and to our children forever that we may do all the words of this law.
    ———
    The word of God is perfect, God did not miss a thing !
    Let us rejoice in his word,let us taste and see that the Lord is good.

  27. Moses had led the Israelite’s in the wilderness for forty years and their shoes, and clothes never wore out and they were fed Manna. Our Lord took care of them by keeping the covenant with God as they would prosper and do good. If they took on idols and went against our Lord, the wrath of God would be on them. A choice was given to them so they could choose. We have choices today, shall we be blessed by God or cursed? It is OUR choice.

  28. “Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them, “You have seen with your own eyes everything the Lord did in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to his whole country— all the great tests of strength, the miraculous signs, and the amazing wonders. But to this day the Lord has not given you minds that understand, nor eyes that see, nor ears that hear!”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:2-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Israel saw great wonders from the hand of God since coming from Egypt. They saw the plagues, they saw the death of the firstborn, they saw the Red Sea parted, they saw the Egyptian armies destroyed, they saw victories won by prayer, they ate the manna, they drank the miraculously provided water, and they saw miracle after miracle.
    Each of these great wonders each proof in themselves of God’s power and love for Israel has a spiritual counterpart in our lives.

    We have seen miracles happen at POF, we have seen the power of God manifest in many different ways.
    Seeing these great works of God, there is one logical response. Knowing the greatness of God’s love and power should make us more committed than ever to His covenant.

  29. Deuteronomio 29:29

  30. “These are the terms of the covenant the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites while they were in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant he had made with them at Mount Sinai. Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them, “You have seen with your own eyes everything the Lord did in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to his whole country— all the great tests of strength, the miraculous signs, and the amazing wonders. But to this day the Lord has not given you minds that understand, nor eyes that see, nor ears that hear! For forty years I led you through the wilderness, yet your clothes and sandals did not wear out.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:1-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    During their forty years in the wilderness, their clothes did not wear our, their sandals did not wear out, and though they had no bread to eat , their needs were provided for.

  31. 5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

    We serve a faithful God, He will provide for His children.

    “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:31-33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  32. Deuteronomy 29:10-21

    The national covenant made with Israel, not only typified the covenant of grace made with true believers, but also represented the outward dispensation of the gospel. Those who have been enabled to consent to the Lord’s new covenant of mercy and grace in Jesus Christ, and to give up themselves to be his people, should embrace every opportunity of renewing their open profession of relation to him, and their obligation to him, as the God of salvation, walking according thereto. The sinner is described as one whose heart turns away from his God; there the mischief begins, in the evil heart of unbelief, which inclines men to depart from the living God to dead idols. Even to this sin men are now tempted, when drawn aside by their own lusts and fancies. Such men are roots that bear gall and wormwood. They are weeds which, if let alone, overspread the whole field. Satan may for a time disguise this bitter morsel, so that thou shalt not have the natural taste of it, but at the last day, if not before, the true taste shall be discerned. Notice the sinner’s security in sin. Though he hears the words of the curse, yet even then he thinks himself safe from the wrath of God. There is scarcely a threatening in all the book of God more dreadful than this. Oh that presumptuous sinners would read it, and tremble! for it is a real declaration of the wrath of God, against ungodliness and unrighteousness of man.

  33. Deuteronomy 29:5-9 (AMP)
    5) I have led you in the wilderness forty years; your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.
    6) You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or strong drink, so that you might know that I am the LORD your God (on whom you must depend).
    7) When you reached this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out o meet us in battle, but we defeated them;
    8) And we took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
    9) So keep the words of this covenant and obey them, so that you may prosper and be successful in everything that you do.

    “GOD is the One on whom We Can Depend”
    God is our Provider and our Protector. If we will Keep the words of this covenant and Obey them, HE will also make us Prosperous.

  34. In this agreement, the Lord promised that you would be his people and that he would be your God. He first made this promise to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and today the Lord is making this same promise to you. But it isn’t just for you; it is also for your descendants. So make sure that everyone in your tribe remains faithful to the Lord and never starts worshiping gods of other nations. If even one of you worships idols, you will be like the root of a plant that produces bitter, poisonous fruit. You may be an Israelite and know all about the Lord ‘s agreement with us, but he won’t bless you if you rebel against him. You may think you can get away with it, but you will cause the rest of Israel to be punished along with
    You.
    When we came into a covenant with the LORD, we agreed to obey and truly live according to His word! Moments of pleasure will never bring you closer to Him. Why can’t we understand that we are keeping our children from having a covenant with the LORD. We can never say the Lord isn’t here, or the LORD isn’t hearing my prayer. FYI Jesus never broke a covenant…it was you!!

  35. 10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,
    One of the things we must remember that we have made a commitment with the Lord. The covenant that we signed with the Pentecostals of Fort Worth, that’s a covenant we have made with the Lord, and all of us have been a witness to this covenant. We must remind our self that it is Jesus that we serve and not men. God has established an authority over us and that’s Pastor and sister Watts. We are committed to them, just as we are committed to the Lord. We must Live Jesus, give Jesus.

  36. 29 The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

    The secret things belong to the Lord, so let’s trust Him in what we do not know and understand. The things He has revealed belong to us, so let’s obey Him in what He has made known to us. They’re ours! They are given to us, to help us always.

  37. 13 That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

    14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;

    It sticks out to me because the way it uses himself to sworn on the sons and father

  38. 29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    The Treasure of a revelation… There is nothing more enriching and more valuable than getting revelation on His Word, the law, commands and precepts. When you finally understand the obscurity of some scriptures. When He talks to you right from his Heart, the Word to yours, His creation. There would be scriptures that you have read and said ok yeah I get it, but when the deeper meaning of a passage just speaks at you, speaks at your current situation and life that is the greatest riches that any man or woman can acquire. When you finally get it and apply it and it becomes more alive than anything else in your world. This treasure is forever yours and to those whom you share and they choose to accept. Just like gold, if you dig you will find it. And it will utterly bless your life in correction, instruction, direction and blessing.

    There are some things reserved only for those that are willing to seek and know Him, know his Word. Those get rich quick schemes do not work in the world nor in the word. You have to seek and then you have to dig. And the best part is that He promised to be found of you…when you seek Him with all your heart.

    2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

    John 5:39.“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

  39. 9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
    follow the covenant and God will bless you.

  40. 5 Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet. 6 You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”

    The Lord provides physical and spiritually!!!

    We all know that clothes and wear off with time but yet God maintained them. This just shows the great power and love God has for His people. The Lord will always provide!!!

    He gives us shoes- and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Eph 6:15

    He gives us bread and wine- For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. 1 Cor 11: 23-26

    We conquer our enemies- No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:27

    The Lord has given us dominion!!! We must protect your anointing!!! Don’t let your faith slip by and miss what Hod wants to do with you.

  41. 16 (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;

    17 And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)

    18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

  42. 5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

    When we put God first in our lives. He will provide all of our needs. As we have read previously, we see how the Lord provided Israel with food, water and shelter. Jesus has been providing His people accordingly to their needs since the beginning of times until now. Why turn away from all He has given us? We have come so far and been through so much and He still provides Thank you Lord! You are mighty!

  43. 16“You remember how we lived in the land of Egypt and how we traveled through the lands of enemy nations as we left. 17You have seen their detestable practices and their idols made of wood, stone, silver, and gold. 18I am making this covenant with you so that no one among you—no man, woman, clan, or tribe—will turn away from the Lord our God to worship these gods of other nations, and so that no root among you bears bitter and poisonous fruit.

    In this scripture Moses reminds the Israelites what they went through in Egypt. When they enter the land of Egypt, they knew that they were going to go faces trails and the Lord wanted tested the Israelites. Would they go and worship other false idols or would they stay in the path of righteousness with the Lord our God and as they went through Egypt they saw many false idols that were made by man’s hands. Then Moses made a covenant with the Israelites saying that no man, woman, and nations will turn away from the Lord our God to worship other false gods of other nations, and when we stay fruitful to the Lord our God our roots will stay strong with the Lord our God, and if you turn away from the Lord our God your fruit will turn into wickedness and the taste of your fruit well be of a fool.
    Deuteronomy NLT 16-18

  44. 25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:
    26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
    27 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
    28 And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
    29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    You have to choose to worship the world or God. God will punish you if you worship other god for he’s a jealous God. God know everything even your deep secrets because God everything one of us.

  45. 29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    Praise the Lord for the Holy Ghost that helps us follow God’s Word and the gives us the power to overcome.

  46. 29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    My God, I thank You for keeping your hand on us. Thank You for revealing Yourself to us that we may know You. It says so right here that what has been revealed to us is ours!!! Thank You God for revealing Your truth and promises so that they may be ours to hold dear and hide in our hearts. Jesus name.

  47. Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

    Keeping the covenants of God will bring favor and blessings to you. We can always count if God when we obey His Word to show up and bring all His blessings. Even when it’s not what we want it’s what we need.

  48. It’s ok to give it to God

    29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    Some folks think you need to come to the altar and confess your sin to each other. This is not true at all. Repentance is done to God not man. No one needs to know what is under the blood in your life. The secret things belong to the lord.

  49. 6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the Lord your God.

    I did this specifically so you can not blame the wine on what your very eyes witness. That these incredible things would stand the test of time. That generations of people after would takes about how Mighty and strong your God is!

    This was how God started his reproach on Israel may times, “Did I save your from bondage in Egypt?”

    Don’t ever forget, we’re you come from, drink a lot of humility!

  50. 12 That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day:

    13 That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto the a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

    Hallelujah!!

    Praise the Lord our God!!

  51. 3 The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:

    4 Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

    5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

    6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the Lord your God.

    7 And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:

    8 And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

  52. For forty years I led you through the wilderness, yet your clothes and sandals did not wear out. You ate no bread and drank no wine or other alcoholic drink, but he provided for you so you would know that he is the Lord your God.
    Deuteronomy 29:5‭-‬6 NLT

    Even though we might be going through hard times and feel like everything goes wrong. We might feel alone and that we will never make it. God is always there we just have been focusing on on problems instead of our God.

  53. 4 Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

    5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

    I showed you miracles signs and wonders, you’ve seen what i can do to the enemy. I brought you out of bondage and protected you from pharaoh at the red sea. I established my law and built your faith step by step piece by piece. I took care of yo in the wilderness while you wondered. I raised you up after forty years and brought you into the promise land where you have had victories and lived triumphantly.

  54. “All the nations will say, ‘Why has the LORD done this thing to this land? Why this great outburst of anger?’ Then people will say, ‘It is because they abandoned (broke) the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:24-25‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    As life gets increasingly busier and it seems we don’t have enough time in the day, I pray we remember the covenant we made with God about being leaders at POFW. I thank God that even through the roughness we may go through in life, He remains the same, never leaving nor forsaking us.

  55. “Don’t let down your guard lest even now, today, someone—man or woman, clan or tribe—gets sidetracked from GOD, our God, and gets involved with the no-gods of the nations; lest some poisonous weed sprout and spread among you, a person who hears the words of the Covenant-oath but exempts himself, thinking, “I’ll live just the way I please, thank you,” and ends up ruining life for everybody.“
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:18-19‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    I know we get around those we trust and learn to follow but no matter how much we think good of them we should always keep our spirits guarded. Sometimes it’s those closest to us that are capable of saying something corruptive and bringing us down the hardest.

    Not only that, doing things your way because you’re too stubborn to say “hey, I’m wrong,” doesn’t only hurt yourself but also those around you, sometimes even those you had no idea were looking to you for direction or inspiration. Let your light always shine and lead other to God and not your own righteousness.

  56. They entered into another covenant. They were already in one covenant and now they made another. It sounds like they are similar covenants. This sets the example that we can enter into many covenants with God as well.

  57. 2cMoses summoned all the Israelites and said to them, “You have seen with your own eyes everything the LORD did in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to his whole country— 3all the great tests of strength, the miraculous signs, and the amazing wonders. 4But to this day the LORD has not given you minds that understand, nor eyes that see, nor ears that hear!

    Many have seen signs and miracles, but continue not to believe. They want to inject science into the equation to believe. Instead of just having faith, and believing in God. Put your hope in the Lord, and all will be fine.
