2 Chronicles 13

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.

He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.

And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;

Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.

And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with your golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

11 And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him.

12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

13 But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them.

14 And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.

17 And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

18 Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers.

19 And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephraim with the towns thereof.

20 Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the Lordstruck him, and he died.

21 But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.

22 And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.

  1. Verse 3 AMP “Abijah’s army had four hundred thousand troops, and Jeroboam met him in battle with eight hundred thousand troops.” This chapter reminded me of our lesson in Sunday School yesterday, as we learned how God opened Elisha’s servant’s eyes. Even though you may be met with what seems to be unfair odds or circumstances, remember that God is fighting for us, so we should not be afraid! Fear can be irrational and will capture your mind until you may feel like you are paralyzed and cannot even move. Elisha’s servant based how he reacted on what he thought he saw. Yes, there was an army who had an evil plan; but, God’s army was bigger and His plan was more powerful. Exodus 14:14 AMP says “The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm.” Our Proverb today AMP says in verse 19 “So that your trust and reliance and confidence may be in the Lord, I have taught these things to you today, even to you.”

  2. 10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

11 And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him.

Abijah sound the words of those that came before him, stating that they were serving the Lord like their fathers before them did. It shows the difference in how when you make a covenant with God and maintain the disciplines that came before you or if you would turn away from way that is straight and begin to make other gods. When you put other things before the most high God, you will find out quickly which god is most powerful. We see here that Jeroboam was defeat by the hand of the Lord.

You have a major decision to make and that is you either choose to serve the Lord and prosper or you choose some idol that can’t save you and you get destroyed. God did not have any problem helping Abijah and those that followed Him destroy five hundred thousand of Israel’s descendants. It goes back to the commandment that God gave Moses, Hear O Israel the Lord thy God is one Lord! We have come to far right now to have swayed our love for God and let the world steal our promise. It’s time the church stand up and be counted for the kingdom of God.

    Live Jesus to give Jesus!

  3. 12. And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

    15. Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

    18. Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers.

    20. Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the Lord struck him, and he died.

Fighting against those that follow God’s plan never pays! Don’t be a Jeroboam; he tried it and never recovered

    Who is on the Lord’s
    Side among you?
    Who will help us join
    In the fight?
    Who is on the Lord’s
    Side among you?

  4. 2 Chron. 13: 13- 14-15 But Jeroboam set an ambush to come about behind them, so they were before Judah , and the ambush, was behind them.
14] And when Judah looked back, behold the battle was before and behind; and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
15] Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
Chapter 13 : 1-7 is showing that Abijah suceeds Rehoboam; a war between Judah, and Israel.
When me and you are going through a battle shout out a ” War cried to the Lord”
For the Lord will take care it.
    Hallelujah!

  5. 10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.

You cannot lose with God. Even whenever the circumstances are stacked against you, even if you are outnumbered and and especially whenever you have absolutely no chance in winning you cannot lose when you have God fighting your battles. You would imagine that the history that Israel had fighting much Superior enemies they would know that it had nothing to do with them winning but still they foresook their God and lost to their own people whom they outnumbered because God was not on their side. When you are following me the word of God and in tune with him any enemy No matter its superiority is outnumbered by you. It truly is evidence that you are not alone and more than a conqueror with Christ

  6. “But while Abijah was talking, Jeroboam had sent some of his troops to attack Judah’s army from behind, while the rest attacked from the front. Judah’s army realized they were trapped, and so they prayed to the Lord. The priests blew the signal on the trumpet, and the troops let out a battle cry. Then with Abijah leading them into battle, God defeated Jeroboam and Israel’s army. The Israelites ran away, and God helped Judah’s soldiers slaughter 500,000 enemy troops. Judah’s army won because they had trusted the Lord God of their ancestors.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:13-18‬ ‭CEV

You’ll always have a victory over the enemy when you seek the LORD and allow Him to fight your battles. Hallelujah!!!

“I am certain, Lord, that you will help your chosen king. You will answer my prayers from your holy place in heaven, and you will save me with your mighty arm. Some people trust the power of chariots or horses, but we trust you, Lord God. Others will stumble and fall, but we will be strong and stand firm. Give the king victory, Lord, and answer our prayers.”

  8. “When [the men of] Judah turned around, they were attacked from both front and rear; so they cried out to the LORD [for help], and the priests blew the trumpets. Then the men of Judah raised a war cry; and as they shouted, God struck Jeroboam and all Israel [with defeat] before Abijah and Judah.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:14-15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Jesus will fight the battle if you submit to Him. Cry out to Him and Him alone.

  9. The Covenant of SALT
    Promises, Provision and Preserved
5 Ought you not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingship over Israel forever to David and his sons by a covenant of salt?

I have never taken a look at this or can’t even say I’ve ever studied it out. More so today when SALT is the name of our singles at POFW . Abija makes a grand declaration here that God placed this Covenant of Salt over Israel forever. I had to stop and find out what it truly meant. Salt is a preservative yet the more I looked into it it also was a very valuable asset in the Biblical days. It was valuable. I also found that it was used as a promise between individuals. Provision and Promises!
No wonder Abija makes the proclamation that God had made a Covenant of SALT. Covenant a promise . Salt provision of being preserved!

Abija knew what this covenant meant and God always keeps His promises. Too many times we allow circumstances to bring us to a breaking point in life when if we would take a look at what God had promised us. He will keep His promises. He will provide. He will preserve us . How valuable are we to God . Will He prevail for us as he did in these scriptures. Why because of the faith and the remembrance of a Covenant.
A s to every single adult hold to God’s Promises. He will preserve you and always make provision for the battles you , we are fighting ! Wow SALT covenant. Not only that scripture declares we are the salt of the earth. How much we have to give fir the Kingdom of God. What a value placed within us . Acts 1:8 Ye shall receive power ….The Lord will fight our battles !

18 Thus the men of Israel were subdued at that time, and the men of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the Lord, the God of their fathers

  10. 18 Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers.

The only way to have Victory is to serve God!!! There is no other way!!! Jesus will always have the victory and if you want victory you have to make sure that you are in His Team!!! No matter what the situation may be JESUS IS YOUR ANSWER!!! Your help comes from the Lord!!! They called Him in the most of their battle, they sounded their trumpets and Praise!! God answer with Victory!!! Why? Because unlike the golden calves and whatever other images they made our GOD IS ALIVE!!! HE CAN HEAR YOUR CALL!!! Not dead like those images. JESUS LIVES!!! HALLELUJAH!!!

16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.
17 And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

Judah = Praise when the tribe or army of Praise was surrounded by adversaries, they were not intimidated, fearful or arrogant. They reminded themselves of the Power of their GOD, their commitment to their GOD and demonstrated their TRUST in their GOD.

PRAISE is empowered by our RELATIONSHIP with JESUS.

10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

  12. 15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

And they did a Battle cry to the Lord . And the Lord answer by giving his people a great victory 500,000 chosen man of Israel fell. A staggering price to pay for turning away from God!

    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:15‬ ‭CEV‬‬
“and the troops let out a battle cry. Then with Abijah leading them into battle, God defeated Jeroboam and Israel’s army.

  13. 14 And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

When trouble comes our way, we can be assured that the Lord will deliver us when we cry out to Him.

  14. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
2Ch 13:3 And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.

Even though Judah was outnumbered two to one here, they were still in the majority. The angelic army of God outnumbers the enemy three to one and the Word says there are thousands upon thousands of angels. It is in fact very sad that Judah and the other 10 tribes of Israel were killing each other here, but this is a direct result of sin. The sin that caused 500,000 deaths could be traced all the way back to Solomons bad choices. We must make good choices in life or our offspring will pay the price.

  15. 2 Chronicles 13:5 Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

This shows God’s faithfulness (covenant of salt)

Leviticus 2:13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou with salt ; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering : with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

The reference to SALT indicates the act of sacrifice was a reminder of the eternal covenant relationship between the worshiper and his God.

God is always faithful if we obey and worship Him🙌🏼 Give Him our BEST!

  16. 4 And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

If God be for us, who can be against us? The men of Judah prevailed because they honored God with their worship and their covenants.

Many people look for the blessings of God to come in monetary benefits. However there is so much for that is a benefit of being the child of the Most High King. He fights for us, He watches over us, He comforts us, He leads us, He lifts us up when we are discouraged, He covers us with peace, He supplies our needs and many of our wants, He protects us – He knows our very end from our beginning and all the in between.

If we will keep Him, He will keep us!

  17. 12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you.

God is our Captain in every battle because we know the battle is the Lord’s. Trials come and go but when we pray and give it to the one who is for us, we will see victory.

  18. “Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, “Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel: Do you not know that the LORD God of Israel, gave rule over Israel forever to David and to his sons by a covenant of salt [a permanent pact, extending to each generation of Israel]? Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, a servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his lord [the king], and worthless (unprincipled, unethical) men gathered around him, useless and wicked men, who proved too strong for Rehoboam the son of Solomon when Rehoboam was young and timid, and could not assert himself against them.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:4-7‬ ‭AMP‬‬
Wrongs don’t offset each other. The only thing that can set things right is adherence to the truth regardless of who committed which sin.

  19. ““But for the rest of us in Judah, we’re sticking with GOD. We have not traded him in for the latest model—we’re keeping the tried-and-true priests of Aaron to lead us to GOD and the Levites to lead us in worship by sacrificing Whole-Burnt-Offerings and aromatic incense to GOD at the daily morning and evening prayers, setting out fresh holy bread on a clean table, and lighting the lamps on the golden Lampstand every night. We continue doing what GOD told us to in the way he told us to do it; but you have rid yourselves of him.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:10-11‬ ‭MSG‬‬

We live in a generation that is obsessed with the “latest model”. Everyone wants the newest thing out there, the next best thing to make life “easier”.

New religions have been made throughout time that are “easier” for people to follow but if it doesn’t follow the word, it won’t get you into heaven.

In a world that is all about making life more convenient for self, we need to stick by Jesus. We need to continue to sacrifice time, talent and treasure, to continue to obey His Word and build relationship with Him.

After all, an eternity in hell isn’t very convenient.

I love this passage! I love POFW! WE NEED TO FOLLOW AFTER TRUTH. I always want to go with truth and not comfort. Truth is everlasting and comfort is for a season.

  21. 2 Chronicles 13:12
So you see, God is with us. He is our leader. His priests blow their trumpets and lead us into battle against you. O people of Israel, do not fight against the lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed!”

God is and always has been with us. He is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere all the time. God has always been present, throughout the universe. But He’s been present with His people as well. This was what made Him so different from all the false gods the pagan nations worshiped. Through a select group of people, the Jews, He revealed Himself as I Am—a present, personable and knowable God—to all people, triggering within them a hunger for intimacy with their
Creator. Because of Christ’s death and resurrection, we truly can receive the gift of “God with us.” Not just with us, as a friend who walks beside us, though He indeed does that. But God with us, as in He comes to live inside us, giving us strength in place of weakness, courage in place of fear, and vibrant life in all those dark places that once felt dead.

  22. 10 “But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not abandoned him…” NLT

There is only One that is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. That is Jesus. We would love to say that we are consistent everyday, and would never abandon the Lord.

However, the word states teaches us Light and Dark can’t coexist. So the moment we disobey, or fall short of the glory we are no longer in the light.

It takes a daily choice to repent from shortcomings. Arise and LIVE Jesus to make the daily choice to strive to never abandon the Lord.

Psalm 113:4-5 “The Lord is high above all nations,
And His glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God,
    Who is enthroned on high”

  23. 2 Chronicles 13:12-15 & 18 (AMP)
    12) And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain,… (KJV)
    12) Behold, God is with us at our head,…
    13) But Jeroboam had set an ambush to come from the rear, so that Israel was in front of Judah and the ambush was behind them.
    14) When (the men of) Judah turned around, they were attacked from both front and rear; so they cried out to the LORD (for help), and the priests blew the trumpets.
    15) Then the men of Judah raised a WAR CRY; and as they SHOUTED, God struck Jeroboam and all Israel (with defeat) before Abijah and Judah.
    18) Thus the sons of Israel were subdued (humbled) at that time, and the sons of Judah prevailed Because They Relied On The LORD, the God of their fathers.

When you put your Trust in God and Rely on Him as your Captain, your Head, your Deliverer, Your Help, etc…, and you feel like the enemy has you surrounded, front and rear, all you have to do is give a WAR CRY and SHOUT, and God will Defeat your enemy.
    WAR CRY! Yyyyyyyeeeeeeesssssss!!

  24. 16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.

Sin always come with a price… God’s voice may not “tickle” our ears or make us feel good in every situation, but it’s then when God is watching to see how we respond to His voice! Be very careful when listening for His voice and seek guidance from the authority above you, even when you don’t like the answer. Keep trusting and heeding to His purpose.

  25. “Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Who are you relying on? Where is your strength coming from? What resource are you connected to? If he is the Vine and you are the branches. We should be relying on Jesus Christ.

  26. 10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

God is our everlasting father. Through him we can do all things. Life is not always easy, but with God on your side more things are possible. The enemy would love to see us to continue to fail, but through God we are winners. We must look past our own faults to do what God wants us to do. We must move forward even when things get little rough. God is on our side and he will always provide.

  27. “Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we put our trust in the almighty father anything can happen. Things change when we call his name. All we have to do is call upon his name and have faith. We can’t rely on our own selfs for things to happen. When it happens don’t neglect what he has done. Always give him a praise, even if it doesn’t happen how you envisioned. In everything give thanks.

  28. Where have the pastors gone?

9 Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

We live in a world today that doesn’t want pastors, they want a rockstar to entertain them but never get into their business. The kingdom of God cannot advance if the leaders of the Kingdom cannot lead. No war will ever be won by armies with no leader. I don’t know what “Christians “ are thinking when they cut off their pastor??

  29. 12 So you see, God is with us. He is our leader. His priests blow their trumpets and lead us into battle against you. O people of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed!
    2 Chronicles 13:12 NLT

Nothing is greater than the power of the Lord your God! Not a single thing in this world can defeat the Lord or his faithful children. Why? Because everyday those who remain faithful are filled with his spirit and strength. God gives us the power of victory, he gives us the strength to overcome any enemy there is to come. We are his children let us make a decision to follow the Lord make him the most important leader in your life, for with him anything is possible. Let the Lord use you to those lost in this world, help save and return those lost to the Lord to get home. Remember to grow more in him daily fill yourself with his word and wisdom.

  30. 8 And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with your golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

9 Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

I wonder how many people that forsook God and followed Jeroboam thought they would be ok even though they didnt have God with them in battle. I know that I have been guilty walking out of my house at sometime without taking God with me to battle. We got to make sure we put God first in everything, that way we know we are taking God with us everywhere we go, and we are ok because we are more than conquerors with him.

  31. Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
    2 Chronicles 13:15

Love the Lord, keep your faith in God and He is always there for us; ask and you shall receive. You must pray and give thanks to Jesus, as we owe everything to Jesus!
Thank you for this day Jesus.

  32. 11 And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him.

Every morning and every night, every mourning and every night. . . Every morning and every night. They sacrificed not only daily but twice daily!! They knew that so much happens when you put somethings aside and sacrifice continually. Have you told your flesh “No!” Recently? What have you recently sacrificed lately? What have you not done in order to fulfill his works?? Are you doing it out of necessity or want??

12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

  33. “But didn’t you drive out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and make priests of your own as the peoples of other lands do? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may become a priest of what are not gods.

As for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him. The priests who serve the Lord are sons of Aaron, and the Levites assist them.”

    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:9-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When you look at this scenario we can see there are some practices that remain the same even though time has continued to move forward. With technology literally in the palm of your hand anybody can easily tap a few things on their phone and within fifteen minutes can become a licensed minister. I’m sure we’ve all seen it happen, whether in TV, in real life, or by word of mouth. Some go through classes, reading books, taking tests, and again, becoming a licensed minister. My point is, just like in the scripture reference it’s easy to become a minister and to call yourself a minister but are you actually putting the work into it like those of Jerusalem or are you just flaunting a title? Putting it in a different perspective, it’s easy to call oneself a Christian but are you actually being Christlike and following the path he’s laid before you? Or are you simply flaunting a title everywhere you go?

  34. “And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Cry out to the Lord in battle! BUT do not forget the battle wasn’t won at that moment when they shouted, the battle was wondering when they chose to follow God and keep ahis commandments. Don’t think our triumphant battle will always have a climactic series of events. Know that the battle is won when we pray everyday, when we read the Word and tuck it in our hearts, when we worship, when we praise, when we fast, and when we witness. Abijah fought with valiant men of war. They didn’t just wake up and say let’s fight but they prepared and made sure they could use their weapon!

  35. 12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

We should all know by now that with God on our side nothing shall come against us! Many people question God’s Authority to do things, but we all just have to trust the process. There is a right moment in time for everything. God has everything planned out for everyone! I pray tonight that we are all putting our whole heart in Him, and trusting what He has planned for us!!!

  36. But you have chased away the priests of the Lord (the descendants of Aaron) and the Levites, and you have appointed your own priests, just like the pagan nations. You let anyone become a priest these days! Whoever comes to be dedicated with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of these so-called gods of yours!

The compromises of the modern day church bring consequences of their own.

  37. 10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

11 And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him.

Regardless of everyone else surrounding us with negativity and situations. It is up to us to be steadfast and immovable in what God is doing

  38. “So you see, God is with us. He is our leader. His priests blow their trumpets and lead us into battle against you. O people of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God was with the people that obey His word and did His will. Let us not fight against God or blame God because things aren’t going our way, but let’s trust in the Lord for He does not fail us for He can do all things. Nothing is too hard for God He will make a way when there is no way, and if God is for us we got the victory so let not be afraid but let’s trust in God who is the everlasting Father.

  39. ““Do you really think you can stand against the kingdom of the Lord that is led by the descendants of David? You may have a vast army, and you have those gold calves that Jeroboam made as your gods.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We don’t have a chance of winning when we are in the opposite side of God. We can’t put other gods before him because is drives us away from him,it damages our relationship with Him.

  40. 1 And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him.

If God is for you who can be against you. Yes sometimes the children of God do not do all that is He wants. However, if you do not forsake the Lord he will always hear your cry. The people that were with Jeroboam, had turned away from God and had gotten themselves idols and to them they worshiped. it may have been that the people of Judah were not all great in the eyes of the Lord but Israel provoked God. Judah did not kick the priests of the Lord out but kept with the original command of the Lord. There will be times when you may fail but if you repent and turn your ways to the Lord he will hear you out. He will come to your rescue. You are his child and will not forsake you.

  41. “Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  42. 15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

There is victory in your shout! Walls fall down, enemies are defeated, all in the name of Jesus!

  43. 5 Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.

Sometimes you gotta sit back and re read a few chapters.
This guy steals a whole nation to rule over and causes them all to sin. When leading a country or a nation theres probably a lot of folks that are just gonna go with the flow of things and have no idea but for those that knew the history of things you think at least one person would have it all together.
This could apply anywhere outside the leadership of your pastor. If you’re at work or school or anywhere that has secular leadership then watch yourselves and cover yourselves with the full armor of God. It don’t matter how long you’re at your job o how close you are to getting the starting spot on the football team. If theres anything that opposes what the man of God says then those are things that opposes what GOD says.
Do not let jeroboam still your kingdom that you are called to serve!

  44. I feel like there’s one thing I worry about in this younger generation of apostolics. Our world is much different now than it was 50 years ago. At times it feels like evil is progressing. And yes we do our best to fight against it. But we have to do better to not be influenced by the world and let it bleed in to our church. We have to defend the truth at all cost. Don’t let us change the way of the apostolic church.

“But you have chased away the priests of the Lord (the descendants of Aaron) and the Levites, and you have appointed your own priests, just like the pagan nations. You let anyone become a priest these days! Whoever comes to be dedicated with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of these so-called gods of yours!”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬
