Acts Chapter 9 – FIRE2 – 9/40

Day 9: Acts Ch.9. Saul, a Jewish Pharisee who is passionately persecuting Christians, has a dramatic encounter with the risen Savior while on the road to Damascus. We also read the story of Tabitha being raised to life by Peter. Pray for the church to grow physically, spiritually, and emotionally, and for others to be compelled to change because of our example.

Acts 9

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

This is the perfect example of God will use the people who you least expect him to use to do his will! The lord took a man who persecuted God’s people and used a miracle to change his heart and his way of thinking and used him in a mighty way to help change this world, he went from the one who hated God to being one who became loved by the father. So never doubt or judge who God will use to do his will because it may just be you who others doubt the master will use.

  3. Acts 9:3-4, 17-18, 20, 27, & 29
    3) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly here shined round about him a LIGHT from heaven:
    4) And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

    17) And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even JESUS, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST.
    18) And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received his sight forthwith, arose, and was BAPTIZED.

    20) And straightway he PREACHED CHRIST in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

    27) But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had PREACHED BOLDLY at Damascus in the Name of JESUS.

    29) And he SPAKE BOLDLY in the Name of the LORD JESUS, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

WOW!! It’s amazing when the LIGHT of JESUS shines into someone’s life how it changes them.
Saul persecuted and made havock of the church, and put men and women into prison. BUT when the LIGHT of JESUS shined into his life, and he was Filled With The HOLY GHOST (FIRE) and was BAPTIZED, he now PREACHED and SPOKE BOLDLY in the Name of JESUS.
That’s how it is for every New Believer. We’re so excited (FIRE of the HOLY GHOST) about what JESUS has done in our lives that we SPEAK BOLDLY to everyone we meet.
Yet sometimes, for different reasons, that FIRE starts to dye out and all you have left is embers glowing. But thank God for that ember that’s glowing, because all you have to do is “Put Fresh Wood” on it, and it will REIGNITE into a BURNING FIRE.

    Psalms 51:9-13 says,…
    9) Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 ) Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
    11) Cast me not away from thine presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
    12) Restore to me the Joy of thy Salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
    13) Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Let the JOY of His SALVATION be RESTORED in you.
Be Filled With The HOLY GHOST and FIRE.
PREACH and SPEAK BOLDLY in the Name of JESUS.

  4. There is something about the Master…..both Saul and Ananias responded to His call. Saul being a persecutor (simply not knowing truth yet) and Ananias a believer (simply knowing truth already); but, both knew they were speaking or hearing from the Master. There are so many (Saul’s) that simply don’t know yet; but, are waiting on their Ananias to also respond to the Master’s call.

Verse 22 MSG says “But their suspicions didn’t slow Saul down for even a minute. His momentum was up now and he plowed straight into the opposition, disarming the Damascus Jews and trying to show them that this Jesus was the Messiah.” A sense of urgency Saul now had to reach instead of destroy. We too need to have this same sense of urgency as there is no time to waste and we cannot allow for distractions to take our focus off the work at hand.

Verses 32-43 are encouraging and a source of strength for me today. There is so much going on, in every direction you look; but, I know that my God can still do ANYTHING. We need to have a “HIGH EXPECTANCY” as we LIVE-GIVE JESUS²

  5. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

    Follow to lead.
Before Saul could lead he had to follow. Saul was led by the hand but he had to put his trust in Jesus. Everything Paul lived for was to persecute Christians or disciples. All it took was one move of God in his life to hanged the course and motive of his walk. First walking to persecute the children of God now ready to persecute the devils wicked ways but he first had to follow. His first step after seeing the Lord was a step led by taking the hand of a stranger..

  6. “And Peter said unto him, Æneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:34-35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    The world is watching.

A hurting world will look at the church for help. They will see that they are broken and losing hope everyday with out a Savior to help them. When people are ready for change they listen, and watch and see. We as apostolic believers have to be on our toes ready to do Gods work, at all times. The hurting world is watching and seeking a God that heals and gives salvation. We must be that light, no matter where we go. Shine for Jesus.

  7. 26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

We can see how the New Covenant approaches those that are not aline with the Gospel. Rather than killing thoses of an opposed faith, the Lord brings them into the sheep fold. This shows the power of the Lord to convert the heart of an unbeliever. Now matter our previous state, the Lord can call us into service for His Kingdom.

  8. 41. And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

    42. And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

It doesn’t say that many believed in Peter; that’s because he knew and made sure they knew that the miracle wasn’t done to draw people to him, but to draw them to Jesus.

  9. Acts 9: 15-16-17 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way; for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.
    (16) For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
Jeremiah 31: 17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion whom no man seeketh after.
Go reach , preach, teach, speak, and be bold and tell the whole world about Jesus.
There are so many hurting people out here need us.
    They are watching us.
Be Jesus and Live for Jesus.

  10. 9:13,14,15 then amáñanos answer Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he has done to thy saint at Jerusalem.
And here he has authority to arrest those who call upon the name of thy name.

But the lord said unto him: Go thy way….
    ——
Ananias obeyed the Lord. After everything that he knew an heart about Saul, he still went ahead and did what Jesus told him to do.
🙏 that my faith be stronger everyday
Waking by faith and not by sight.
Regardless off what’s happening around me.

  11. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

We are all chosen by God. How wonderful it is to know, He is ready to defend those who bear His name. We are called and we are chosen – it is time to take the gospel to this city!!

  12. 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

This one verse/story speaks volumes about how God feels towards those who serve. All throughout the Bible we hear of these big and mighty Men of God. Men that God used to build an Ark, free Israelite slaves, take down Giants and build kingdoms but then there’s the story of a sweet lady named Tabitha. Not much is detailed other than she was full of good works and gave alms. But we know that God had honored her by raising her up just so she could continue doing the work and I love she was. We must always remember that God sees everything we do and honors us even if we don’t think it’s meaningful. God knows all that we do for his kingdom

  13. 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

The Power of God can soften even the hardest of hearts-

We see a great and mighty tyrant against all Christians that called on the name of Jesus be persecuted. But when the power of God comes down upon you, the power of persecution becomes the power preaching, instead of trying to convict them of a crime, Saul who become Paul converts those non believers to the word of the Lord. No matter somebody’s background, Jesus can utilize each person. I mean if God can speak through a donkey I know He can use a criminal.

We have to look beyond the exterior of a person and look at the heart to see if they are willing to receive Jesus because that is how Jesus looks at man. Once a person is spiritually changed then the physical appearance will change. That is why we should never give up on someone because God will never give up on them. That is why we have to Live Give Jesus in every opportunity that presents itself to us.

    40 Days of Fire2!

  14. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

What a beautiful transformation the Lord had made on Saul life. The same transformation God wants to do to those we know are lost and to those we least expect to be changed. God has no exception of people! We are all vessels that God can use. Some are appointed to fulfill what God has plan out for them, just like Saul. So instead of questioning as Ananias did, we must be encouragers and help fulfill what God has appointed them to do.

  15. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    A TOUGH ASSIGNMENT

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

Not every Mission from the LORD is without risk. We witness the response of a faithful believer here. Ananias was concerned about the well being of Saul. Seeing only his past. But as JESUS explained the future of Saul to him. Ananias was more willing.

I learn from this today that JESUS is more focused on our potential that our past. As Holy Ghost FILLED believers we are wise to take the same approach to new believers.

  16. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

But by the grace of God we all could be as Saul, but thankfully the Lord seen fit to bring someone to us with truth. How many more Sauls are there in Fort Worth ? Don’t count anyone out , tell everyone abs believe that God will open their hearts

  17. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

God has a plan for our lives. Sometimes it is not what you think it should be. But God’s will be done. Whatever God has chosen to use us for may be trying at times, but He will see you through.

  18. Acts 9::22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

MSG. But their suspicions didn’t slow Saul down for even a minute. His momentum was up now and he plowed straight into the opposition, disarming the Damascus Jews and trying to show them that this Jesus was the Messiah.

All of the significant battles are waged within the self. The greatest of the battles people wage is against their own flaws and failures. To have an opportunity to reach your potential, you must know who you are and face your flaws.

Find your strength, build on them passionately, we must dedicate ourselves to growth today.
Remember, to change your world, you must first change yourself.

    Thank you Jesus!!!

  19. El es todo Poderoso que puede cambiar hasta el mas perverso Corazon asi como Saulo y utilizarle para su causa y llevar su palabra por todo el mundo

  20. 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

In the Scriptures we see Saul prosecuting the Christians for preaching and teaching in Jesus name. God uses Saul for his kingdom, this shows us that God can use anyone and anything for his kingdom.

  21. And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
I want to be ready when the Lord is calling me. I will be about Gods work at all times whether it be a small or a big task. My father always said to stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. Thank you Lord for your word!

  22. Saul’s preaching became more and more powerful, and the Jews in Damascus couldn’t refute his proofs that Jesus was indeed the Messiah.
Acts of the Apostles 9:22 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.9.22.NLT

No matter how much they try to prove that God doesn’t exist, the more proof they find that He does!! No matter if it’s God’s existence or that Jesus is the prophesied Messiah you cannot deny it! Glory to the name of Jesus!!! He is Real, He is ALIVE AND WELL!!!

  23. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
The scales of pride had blinded Saul for all these years had finally fallen off. The Lord confirmed the battle in Sauls heart when he told him how hard it was to kick against the pricks. This is true with all of us when we are fighting against God. I texted a feller yesterday who no longer comes to the POFW. We were close friends but now he’s totally pushed me away. It must be hard for that feller to kick against the Holy Ghost. Why would you now not be my friend just because you don’t come to church?

Stop kicking against the pricks and just fall into the hands of the Loving Savior.

  24. Mission Impossible
11-12 “Get up and go over to Straight Avenue. Ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus. His name is Saul. He’s there praying. He has just had a dream in which he saw a man named Ananias enter the house and lay hands on him so he could see again.”

13-14 Ananias protested, “Master, you can’t be serious. Everybody’s talking about this man and the terrible things he’s been doing, his reign of terror against your people in Jerusalem! And now he’s shown up here with papers from the Chief Priest that give him license to do the same to us.”

    Mission Impossible
Sometimes God ask us to do things we think are impossible. Yet we must believe that God will equip us. I have found this true in the past couple of years . I will say “really God “ and He says yes. When I am I am obedient Gid gives me a surge of strength that can only be God Power for what I would consider “Mission Impossible “. Physically, Emotionally, Mentally and Spiritually He clothes me for the mission. Yes we may think Mission Impossible but God says Go . There are many Sauls in this world and how can they be reached lest we say Yes! With God all things Are Possible!

  25. 26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

When I had Bible studies and saw the truth, I was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Then I learned how to teach these lessons with the girl that taught me. Once I had taught a few people with her, I wanted to teach my family and friends-back home who were a little shocked at my conversion. But, I knew how they believed and knew how to witness to them. So, I said all this to say that we can be used by God even as a new convert. I did need to learn first myself, but I found that as I taught others, I kept learning myself. When I was confronted in a group setting during lessons, the gift of wisdom and knowledge came in to use so I could answer them. So, don’t be afraid to reach and teach when the door opens- God’s got our back!

  26. 21All who heard him were amazed. “Isn’t this the same man who caused such devastation among Jesus’ followers in Jerusalem?” they asked. “And didn’t he come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading priests?”

We all have seen many converted to God. Some enter the house of God, broken down, addicted to drugs, jailed, and look physically intimidating. But with God, they are healed, receive the Holy Spirit and began to serve God. Yes we may be amazed but not surprised that God has converted them.

  27. 42 “The news spread through the whole town, and many believed in the Lord.”

What news are you spreading around town? Talk of things of this earth? The joys of family and friends? What about the Good News?! What about the Great and Mighty Works the Lord is doing?!

There is plenty to spread about JESUS!

  28. 2 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

Get all excited go tell everybody that Jesus Christ is king
I said get all excited go tell everybody that Jesus Christ is king
Get all excited go tell everybody that Jesus Christ is king
Jesus Christ is still the king of kings
    (repeat)

    You talk people,
you talk about about things that really aren’t important at all
    you talk about weather,
you talk about problems we have here at home and abroad
But friend I’m excited about a solution for the world
I’m going to shout and sing
Jesus Christ is still the king of kings

What are you talking about today? Let’s get excited and spread the good news of what Jesus is doing at POFW!

  29. 8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

Jesus did a great things through Saul’s “handicap”…. when a person is blind, there other senses become greater, they can hear things that the normal ear cannot hear and feel things that a hearing person would not be sensitive to. In some situations and trials we face, we must allow Jesus to be our eyes and ears; allowing Him to guide and direct our paths for His namesake for His wondrous, miraculous works!

“Jesus, use me and Oh, Lord don’t refuse me
For surely there’s a work that I can do
    And even though it’s humble
Lord, help my Will to crumble
For though the cross be great
    I’ll work for you!”

  30. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  31. “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Self-indulgence gets many on the wrong path. Jesus, at some point in time, comes in nearness to each of us with His glorious Light. It stops us dead in our tracks and creates a point at which we can follow Jesus to eternal life, or follow the way of the world to destruction and hell.

  32. Acts 9

I always enjoyed this chapter. Saul was persecuting as many Christians as possible then Jesus turns him 360 degrees around! Jesus temporarily blinded him, and the realization that Jesus was God actually hit him.

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord,I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

The change that Saul had was miraculous. What can happen to the drug dealers? To the drunks? To all the hard core sinners? They are NOT beyond reach. If Saul can be reached, anyone with our Lord Jesus can turn around!
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  33. “But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up!”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:40‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The power of prayer is incredible! We go through so much in life for many prayer is never their first choice even though it should be. As the children of God we must know that nothing is impossible for God he can do all, we must never doubt him in anything have your faith and trust in him. Let us go out together as a whole as a family and reach out to the lost, bring them home show those struggling during these hard times that God can save them, and as they pray it will bring them peace. I pray today that we give some time unto the Lord everyday, and we give him thanks and praise and we never let the fire of out altar burn out.

  34. 17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

  35. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Here Jesus foreshadows that the gentiles are going to have a chance at salvation too..

Hope is coming, are we willing to work to carry on what was started so many years ago, and tell EVERYONE about Jesus??

  36. 26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

People do not forgive as Jesus does. They do not forget or begin to trust someone who changes their lives without time and a lot of action.
The Apostles allowed Paul into their circle rather quickly. The disciples, they found it hard to trust that he was with them instead of trying to convict them. The Grecians wanted to kill him for teaching about Jesus.
We must be willing to work with people teaching them, and helping them to gain our trust as well as helping them to reach those around them. That is how we teach people to reach souls, and to live / give Jesus.

  37. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

God will choose who he will. We may not understand what all he wants to do, but it will all work out in the end. We can not take our God for granted. He is able to raise up even the weakest. Trust God and he will direct your path.

  38. ““But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias, “I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem! And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.””
Acts of the Apostles 9:13-14 NLT

It does not matter what kind of background you have the Lord will use anyone to serve in His kingdom. We can’t allow ourselves to judge others, but love one another for Christ first loved us. Let us be united with boldness, faith, and confidence to reach the hungry people that want the word of God.

  39. “Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord!” he replied. The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are some that feel that they must have certain qualifications, a certain number of years experience or just a preacher or minister to be used of God. That thought is simply not true. The scripture said it was a believer or a disciple that was sent to Saul. A believer is one who is following, believing and a learner in Christ. Ananias was a believer who was willing to be used of God. God can use any disciple are you willing?

  40. “Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:13, 15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do not judge people based on their past. God can use anyone. We are to be witnesses and draw in people to Christ no matter what. We can not discriminate and forget someone’s soul just because of their past. Jesus died on the cross for our sins because he loves us. We must show the love of Christ to everyone we come into contact with no matter what their background is because god can do mighty works in anyone. He has no respected person.

  41. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

I found interesting these verses of the Bible. Paul preached the gospel proving that Jesus was the Christ. He did not learned how to preach, he did not learn a new doctrine, neither theories or beliefs from the apostles. He himself received the gospel from Jesus . Galatians 1:12 I did not received from man, but revelation. Even Peter said about Paul that he had a high knowledge and revelation. How he showed and demonstrated that Jesus was the anointed one? He knew the law. We need to learn the Word to preach with diligence the gospel! In Jesus name help us Lord!

  42. The cost of Testifying

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

Being the vessel that God transforms in front of others will cost nothing. Even if there was a price it will be nothing compared to the lives that were transformed because their faith was elevated. Testify will cost you nothing financially but can be a healthy price from a inward man. You will have to get out of the box but once you experience God transform a life through you. You will see there is not a great cost to testify.

  43. Not sure how applicable bur I am reminded of Galations 6:7. Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he reap.

  44. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

Sometimes we have to just take a moment and kneel down on our knees and pray. When we kneel or bow before God this is a sign of surrender. I pray tonight that we all are making sure we have our private prayer time with God!

  45. “So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Ananias came in faithfully to meet with Paul because of Ananias faithfulness it made Paul a great vessel in the kingdom of God. If we put faith in God and trust his words he will put faith in others.

  46. Acts Chapter 9

I tell you Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Paul saw a light and blinded Paul he also heard the word of God. In faith he was led to a place to rest. Have you in clouding me rested in Jesus today?
Paul spent three days fasting enclouding food and drink.

10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, . And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

11 And the Lord said unto Ananias, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

Paul was Saul’s Name was changed from Saul to Paul. Saul means ask/question from Hebrew Paul comes from Latin and it means small or humble He heard the Gospel received
his sight, filled with the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name. Even though it does not say in Jesus Name that was the practice of the early church.

26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus and in Jerusalem. 31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. How are we proclaiming Jesus in the Market square?

  47. Acts of the Apostles 9:15
But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.

Our world needs Jesus. When we serve other people through our actions, we bring the love of Jesus to them. We reflect the image of God through our work. We exist for the purpose of imaging God, reflecting him into the world, copying something of him into the lives of the people and societies around us. Doing good work with a servant’s heart and “as done for the Lord” brings glory to God.

    2 Corinthians 5:20
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

    Acts of the Apostles 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

  48. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
Act 9:14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
Act 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Could you be the new Ananias?
Everybody knows about the Apostle Paul. They know his story from begging the writings of the letters to the churches which are not in our bible. However, that simple servant named Ananias. The one who was scared to approach this Saul of Tarsus. The one that questioned the Lord and said you have heard and seen what this man is doing. The of the matter is that without an obedient vessel there would not have been an apostle Paul like we know today. Think about it… Those heroes in the background. Those that made the first invitation to church. Those that gave them a ride to the house of the Lord. Those that taught the bible study. Those whose name get only a small mention in the books of popularity. Yet, without them, we would not have the great men and women of God that we have gotten to know. It takes simple obedience. Yes, God knows your fear, what if they reject the invitation Lord? But what if they are the next Paul and you are that man or woman that God uses to lay hands that they may receive the Holy Ghost and be delivered. Think about it? Those heroes on the background are worth just as much than those where the light shines more. You can win a soul that wins thousands. And to God goes all the glory!!!

  49. 9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

Everywhere we go their are people without sight and they haven’t eaten or drank anything in a while because they haven’t seen the light yet. We need to be the light for those people in our city that are lost, they are everywhere around us. God help us be a light to all the people around us.

  50. “There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. “Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up. All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:33-35‬ ‭NIV‬‬

How bad do you want your miracle?? It always amazes me how much faith individuals in the Bible had. They were always willing and ready to believe in the word spoken to them. It would’ve been so easy for Aeneas to ignore what Peter instructed and question how Peter knew a miracle was taking place. However, as the story goes, he didn’t, instead he did just as Peter instructed without question. In the days we live in everybody is so quick to analyze a situation, weigh out the pros and cons, and question the individual giving the commands. But how bad do you want that answered prayer you’re seeking God for?? Do you want it enough to answer God’s commands and request without hesitation? Or are we going to simply believe and receive??

  51. “And there he found a certain man named Æneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. And Peter said unto him, Æneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:33-34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Aeneas needed someone to speak a word of faith back into his life. Here you see Peter at work. Working in the gifts of the Spirit where miracles, signs, and wonders were. Jesus gave some of these gifts to us not to keep them to ourselves and hidden. But to use them in His Kingdom for His GLORY alone.
Let us continue to reach our region as we preach, and minister. Our faith will spark a fire 🔥 in our region to revival!!!!!
All GLORY and HONOR to JESUS The Christ.
    We will take this city.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭KJV

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭KJV

  52. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Saul was a “chosen vessel”, even with his past life and doings, he still could be used.

This is what I want for Fort Worth! This is what I want to see!! This is one of the many testimonies that we will hear of and be able to see! A life turned around 180 degrees. I want to see someone win to God that had a reputation for actively “killing” the lives of Christian’s! It may be someone who tear down those of great faith simply with their tongue and their choice of words. Or maybe someone who would crush the spirits or drive of certain believers! Let’s win a well known “killer” and then think of great of a testimony that would be??!?!! People “. . . were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem. . . “. It was an amazing testimony and I would like to see that again today!

  53. “But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

People will try to defeat you with what you’ve done in the past, do not be discouraged. Rather be encouraged and recognize the work and effort God has put into shaping and molding you each day. We have overcome come by the Blood of the Lamb and our testimony! Don’t feel shamed over your testimony!!

  54. 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks?

The truth is nobody has it all figured out. Saul really thought he was doing the Lord’s work by persecuting the Christians. Sometimes people really don’t understand that they are kicking against the pricks. Therefore working against God rather than for Him. That is until they have a come to Jesus meeting. Our feelings and what we have been taught all our lives can get in the way of what God is trying to teach us. If we keep an open heart to seek Gods will then we will gain this revelation then next comes the course of repentance then redirection. Lots of Re’s if we are willing to re-do somethings.
