Psalm 108

1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

11 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

  5. 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

Many times as men and women when we have someone give us acknowledgements, we swell with a pride in having done right. As the church though we need to be pushing the glory away from us and back toward God. If we give Hom the glory, then we are lifting Him up, and His word says that if we lift Him up, He will draw all men unto himself. Besides, we would never be able to accomplish anything without Him blessing it…

  6. Psallm 108:12,13Give us help from trouble:for vain is the help of man.
13Through God we shall do valiantly:for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

    AMEN!
Zechariah 4:6 So he said to me, “this is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:
“Not by might not by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD ALmighty”.
    ————
We understand that we do not walk in the flesh,so we don’t think fleshy, we look at things in the spiritual for we are spiritual.
So, if we just agree with the word of God, and put our 100% confident on him (JESUS)our Enemies shall be destroyed Away from us.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who gives me STRENGHT .
    I love you abba!

  7. Give us help against the adversary, for vain is the help of man. Through and with God we shall do valiantly, for He it is Who shall tread down our adversaries. (Psalm 108:12, 13 AMP)

There’s power in the name of Jesus! Through and with God we are victorious and saved.

And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 AMP)

  8. 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

When our heart is fixed on God, nothing can separate us from Him. We may go through the wilderness, spend time on the mountain top, and have various processes in life to endure and walk through, but there will be no confusion or question in our mind about turning around to the beggarly elements of the world, because our eyes on fixed on the prize of the high calling of Jesus Christ! I won’t turn back!

  9. Vs. 12-13, “Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.”

Ps. 124:8 says, “Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” ( His name is JESUS ! )

It is only through JESUS that we can be strong, courageous, and victorious, because it is He who destroys our enemies. There is only One Name I call on when I am in need of help and that is JESUS.

  10. God is calling his people back to praise, the word praise is mentioned over and over in the bible, Praise gets you out of your WILDERNESS!!!! Lord I will praise you at all times!!!!

  11. This chapter illustrates preparation. There was praise offered up in preparation; “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations”. One would be wise too always prepare by seeking God first; “Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  12. 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory

My heart is fixed on living for God,I give Him all the praise for giving me the Hoy Ghost and helping me get a good foundation of the truth ,that has helped me live for him for over 40 years.Sometimes we may have to walk thru some rocky places on our journey, but if we will stay on the path that God laid out for us,just alittle ways down the road it will be smooth and not such a struggle to keep going .We must always remember, the night may seem long ,but JOY comes in the morning!!God will always hold our hand thru the rough times,if we are not the one that took our hand out of His!!

God is GOOD all the time!!Praise the Lord

  13. WHO YOU GONNA PICK?

12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

As I read this verse today I was reminded of my childhood, when we would be outside playing and want to play a game of football, baseball, dodgeball, or kickball. We would first choose 2 captains and the 2 captains would choose alternately until the all of the people were chosen. Usually the Captain that chose the most talented player(s) won.

In verse 12 the psalmist is asking (picking) the LORD to be HIS help. As I thought about this verse , I said, “duh” everybody is going to pick the LORD. However the LORD reminded me of how many times I have chosen people over HIM and how many times I have seen others choose people and the help or relationship they may offer over the HELP of the LORD.

The help of man has no value in dealing with the Kingdom of GOD. The LORD places us in strategic places to give us a testimony, based on HIS delivering power. Often we inquire the help of attorneys, doctors, bankers, friends, family, neighbors, associates before we seek the help of the LORD. Only to find out the the help we gained from man is of no affect on the true dilemma.

These other translations make the message clearer.

    NLT
12 Oh, please help us against our enemies,
for all human help is useless.
13 With God’s help we will do mighty things,
for he will trample down our foes.

    MSG
    12-13 Give us help for the hard task;
    human help is worthless.
    In God we’ll do our very best;
he’ll flatten the opposition for good.

    NIV
12 Give us aid against the enemy,
    for human help is worthless.
13 With God we will gain the victory,
and he will trample down our enemies.

Pick the LORD for your HELP today, regardless of the trouble you may be in. Lift up your head, lift up your heart, look to him, inquire of him.

Psalms 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
Man can only confirm what GOD has said.

HOLD ON, HELP IS ON THE WAY! Come LORD!

  14. A FIXED HEART WONT BE DISTRACTED

Psalms 108:1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

The devil hates praise, therefore his target are the praisers. Those that are not ashamed to testify of the goodness of GOD, those that are not afraid to declare the greatness of GOD, those that are not intimidated to proclaim the NAME of JESUS. The deceiver has practiced his art of deception for generations and many mighty men and women have fallen prey to his tricks. His most frequent trick is to stop the mouth of the Praiser. He knows he has no chance as long as Praise is given to GOD. He was the first eyewitness to what happens in the heavens when praise arises to the throne of GOD. The GLORY of GOD is released and hope, help, healing, deliverance and salvation are available.

For this reason GOD inhabits the praises of Israel. He abides in the praises of HIS people. Faith is built, miracles are executed, and salvation is administered where people Praise the LORD.

Verse 1 is my prayer for every service that I attend; especially those at The Pentecostals of Fort Worth. This Sunday at Brewer High School we will have a great opportunity to demonstrate our LOVE to and for JESUS. I have already fixed my heart:

    I will SING
    I will PRAISE
    i will give GOD GLORY

The word FIXED is the key word in this passage.

FIXED – 3559. kuwn, koon; a primitive root; properly, to be erect (i.e. stand perpendicular); hence (causatively) to set up, in a great variety of applications, whether literal (establish, fix, prepare, apply), or figurative (appoint, render sure, proper or prosperous):—certain(-ty), confirm, direct, faithfulness, fashion, fasten, firm, be fitted, be fixed, frame, be meet, ordain, order, perfect, (make) preparation, prepare (self), provide, make provision, (be, make) ready, right, set (aright, fast, forth), be stable, (e-)stablish, stand, tarry, x very deed.

My heart, my core is already decided that nothing that happens between now and Sunday will stop me from Praising GOD. I will not be distracted, because my heart is FIXED. I will not be deceived, because my heart is FIXED. I will not be discouraged, defeated or dismayed, because my heart is already FIXED.

POFW family FIX your heart today that you will not be intimidated, distracted or deceived, make up in your mind and purpose in your heart that this Resurrection Sunday will be a day of sacrificial PRAISE unto the LORD.

We will see miracles, signs and wonders for the GLORY of GOD in JESUS name.

  15. 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

At the very small feeling of “pain” our nerves react quickly with an “ouch!” and just as fast we want a fix to our discomfort. That’s how we react to our troubles. The reaction of many is to freak out. And its funny that a lot use the phrase “oh my god, what am I gonna do!?”. Then the quest for the solutions begins. The answers is always gonna be to seek God first. When we do that, He will place our paths, or provide what we need for the solution. When we acknowledge Him He will direct our paths like proverbs says. I am also reminded that the word compels us to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and who do we find in the kingdom? The King of kings, Jesus. The Word tells ous what to do every time. We just have to get it in our heads. We sing about it; “we have over come by the power of your name.”. “He wears the victors crown.”
When we choose the help of man first, we will still end up having to come to God for the right answer because by doing that, we lean unto our own understanding. Oh I have this trouble, let’s go to a doctor lawyer, etc, you name it. Why not go to the one that gave the doctor the knowledge, and the lawyer the wisdom? I our quest for a “quick fix” we end up wasting time by not going to God first. When situations arise its because He is trying to get our attention and draw us near. Instead of freaking out with whatever arises and seeking counsel of men. Stop and listen to what God is trying to say. Go to Him in prayer for He is waiting to hear from you. He will come to the rescue stretch forth His tight arm with power and might for you. Remember as a member of the church, the bride, you are His beloved.

  16. Psalm 108:13 With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.

13 We shall make virtue in God; and he shall bring our enemies to nought. (With God’s help, we shall do valiantly/we shall have the victory; and he shall bring down our enemies into nothing.)

See……Psalm 44:55 Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes.

  17. 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

The heart is the core of who we are. What we let into our minds affects our heart. When our heart is fixed we will respond with praise. When our heart is wandering we silence out praise to God and give attention to unworthy things.

  18. 13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

There’s an army rising up in Fort Worth and it’s the Pentecostals of Fort Worth, taking back what the enemy has stolen from our forefathers. It is God’s battle and not our own, and thing is is that God has already won! If we will stay in focus and do what God says to do than we have nothing to fear. This is why our church leaders; Pastor, Sis.Watts, the elders, directors, etc…, need our prayers more now than ever before, because they are the ones leading the church body to what God is wanting. The prophecies of what Fort Worth is to become has been said multiple time over the years, and NOW in this DUE SEASON we are reaping that which our pass generations have planted. Just as Bro. Fielding said back a few weeks ago. We will reap the harvest that has been planted for many years. I was meditating on the thought of the harvest , and as I was praying the Holy Spirit had reminded me of a value. That is when I was living in Illionis, soy beans and corn grew until the harvest season in which time they died. Now to someone that was not from around there they would say the crops are dead and not good to harvest. But this was the right season for the harvest, when all seemed dead it was time to gather. We have heard and some are feeling as though the DUE season has passed, but maybe, just maybe it is the right season to gather the harvest. This weekend is the biggest event that I have been privailaged to be apart of @POFW. It Is Due Season!

  19. 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

If Blessed is the man that puts his trust in The Lord, and those who put there trust in men is cursed. I’ll take the blessing God will never fail us he will never leave us or forsake us hallelujah that even when were not doing right he is merciful. Why put our trust in anyone else? No one can do what God can do he is the almighty and he always has our back. Thank you Jesus

  20. reading this chapter my mind goes to the song: My heart is fixed, my mind’s made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
His Spirit lives in me and that’s the reason I’m souled out

Yes, my heart is fixed, my mind’s made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
His Spirit lives in me and that’s the reason I’m souled out
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes

My heart is fixed, my mind’s made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
His Spirit lives in me and that’s the reason I’m souled out

I’m souled out for Jesus. We have trails that temp us to throw in the towel but as Pastor preached last nite sometimes we have to go to the wilderness so God can get our attention.

  21. v12 Give us help from trouble : for vain is the help of man.
v13 Through GOD we shall do valiantly: foe he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Humanity is subject to distress and deterioration . GOD does not exempt us from life’s circumstances, for they happen to all people .
Thank you JESUS that when we encounter trouble , the SPIRIT helps our infirmity
We may not understand that which is happening in our lives but the SPIRIT gives us hope. We may be rejected and attacked by others, but there is ONE who never leaves or forsake us.
    GOD PREVENTS our destruction!
    iPray
    iAm strengthen and encouraged
    iPraise
iReap HIS POWER TO overcome every difficulty

  22. 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

My life is lived around The Lord. If he births my action I don’t have to ask him to fix my mess all the time.

9 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

If we keep Jesus at the center we will triump over sin.

  23. 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

We must put our trust in God alone. And he alone is worthy of all praise. By him we accomplish his will & not by our own abilities alone.

  24. 5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

6 That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.

I thank God today for his saving power in the lives of his people. With his right hand of power he pulls us out of our worst situations and saves us.

  25. 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. (KJV)
12 Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless. (NLT)
12 Help us defeat our enemies! No one else can rescue us. (CEV)

*Who do you turn to in times of trouble??? I choose to turn to God for help because…

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. (KJV)
13 With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes. (NLT)
13 You are the one who gives us victory and crushes our enemies. (CEV)

  26. 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

So beautifully put. I am reminded of Ps 20:7 “Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God.” We simply cannot rely on the things of this world nor the people who are idolize them, both are worthless in the end. Human wisdom will be futile, that is why we serve a supernatural, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient God. Hallelujah!

  27. 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

I am a overcomes. Victorious in Jesus Christ. I can do all things through Christ. Great is our God!

  28. 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

My heart is fixed, I cannot be swayed. This reminds me of the choir song:

I am souled out! My mind is made up! No room, no vacancies I’m all filled up! His Spirit lives in me and that’s the reason I’m souled out!

  29. 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him: And he said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter? And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins. (1 Kings 12:8-10 KJV)

Who do you listen to ? When we don’t listen to the voice of God we go sideways. We should always listen to God and the people who God has ordained. Hallelujah God has mighty things for this weekend! Listen to the man of God and be in UNITY! God is doing mighty things!

  30. 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

When the storms and trials come, will our hearts be fixed in Jesus? It’s something we must decide now and not wait until the hard times come.

    Hebrews 6:13-20
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; 20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

  31. Verse 13 CEV “You are the one who gives us victory and crushes our enemies.”

Phillipians 4:10-14 MSG “I’m glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess—happy that you’re again showing such strong concern for me. Not that you ever quit praying and thinking about me. You just had no chance to show it. Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. I don’t mean that your help didn’t mean a lot to me—it did. It was a beautiful thing that you came alongside me in my troubles.” Jesus you are the ONE!

  32. Blessed is your Holy Name Lord. There is no other name like your name Jesus. Let everything that has breathe praise the Lord! I praise your Holy Name Lord. Enemy get behind me.
