Psalm 11

1 In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

4 The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

  1. Separation from believers who are wicked

2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Who can be considered wicked? Are the wicked those who are lost in sin without the knowledge of God, or perhaps those who claim to be a Christian and live in sin?

9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; 10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so- called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler —not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.
    (1 Corinthians 5:9-13 NASBStr)

    It looks like the latter.

Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person
    Sixteen Biblical reasons for excommunication:

    2. Causing divisions (Rom. 16:17)

    4. Covetousness (1Cor. 5:11- 13)

    6. Trouble making (1Cor. 5:11- 13)
    7. Drunkenness (1Cor. 5:11- 13)
    8. Extortion (1Cor. 5:11- 13)
    9. Refusal to love God (1Cor. 16:22)
    10. Unbelief, infidelity (2Cor. 6:14)

  2. 2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

Anyone who has had to deal with anyone outside that church at some point has felt that they may have been targeted because of their righteousness or that fact that we simply try to do the right things as Christians. We have felt those arrows strike us as we attempt to be a witness and live our lives above reproach. Thankfully the bible tells us we are a city set on a hill and the salt of the earth we are supposed to be different and set apart. So when we feel those darts of the wicked hit us just know we are fulfilling God’s command for our lives to live upright.

  3. 3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Thee foundation is the most important part of any building, and we are a building in progress for Jesus Christ. The Psalmist said it like, if the foundations be destroyed? What can destroy the foundation? The first thing I can think of is the foundation was not properly laid to start with. How you start is so important in your walk with God.
The proper foundation is to start with REPENTANCE. Do we really understand what repentance means, turning from our unjust ways. I have saw many people turn only to go back to in a few days. We look for the problem and find the proper foundation was not laid, people never fully got all the old ways out of their heart.
If we don’t use the right steel and dig the foundation deep enough and use the right concrete with the correct PSI, our foundation will crack and cause sever deteriation.

Then things can happen that can cause the foundation to give. A storm of some kind, earthquake, and etc. we must be ready for such a time in our lives. If the foundation was not properly laid it will be easier for the, foundation to give and start to see the walls crack and doors jamb. I can see these things both inside and out side the structure. people can tell if your foundation in giving way to other things.
I could say so much, but I will refrain from preaching and say God bless.

What can we do, check our foundation. Get an inspection from THE WORD. Hear the Word of God.

  4. 2. For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

    6. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

The wicked bent their bow and made ready their arrow…and received a shower of snares, fire, and brimstone in a horrible tempest. Take THAT, devil!

  5. Where do we put our trust?
KJV 1 “In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?”
MSG 1 “I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of God. So why would I run away now when you say, run to the mountains.”

    According to Webster:
Trust: belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest, effective.

I have found that trust is something that is earned. I trust that when I flip the switch on the wall the lights will come on. The lights always come on; except on few occasions when the power company has issues. I trust when I turn the key in my truck the engine will start; it always has. I trust in the Lord for all things; do you?

  6. 5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

God does not like wickedness or anything close to it. Every wicked heart shall have their judgment. The righteous shall also be judged, but their reward shall be great.

  7. 2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

  8. 1 In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

This truth has a good foundation if we stick to the blueprints and don’t try to cut corners by not going exactly by the plan which is true repentance ,baptizing in Jesus name, being filled with the Holy Ghost and then living a holy life .If we do these things we will have a steady foundation that can with stand the strong winds of every storm.
We are not built on the sand like the foolish ,but we are wise in the way we have built!!

  9. 5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Whenever we face trouble, we must ask ourselves if we briought it u[pon our selves, or is Jesus allowing us to be tested, that we might come out more like Him….

  10. In The Lord I will always put my trust. I already ran to him for cover. Seeking for help day by day. When the enemy’s whole army is aiming at me. God is my protection. My defense.

  11. The right foundation

3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

If you don’t have the right foundation the building falls apart. This reminds me of a teaching our pastor did once. Where little by little he build a house and the first thing they brought in was a cement slab and he wrote with spray paint JESUS all over it. For if our faith is not anchored on Jesus when the hardships come it will fall apart. I am thankful for a Pastor that help us build the right foundation in Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for being our Corner Stone.

  12. Bold As A Lion

    Psalm 11:1-3 NLT
1 I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me,“Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety!

2 The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right.

3 The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?”

    Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

    2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Psalm 11 seems to detail the psalmist’s response to an attack of fear. Fear and intimidation try to paint a gloomy picture in which the righteous are helpless, hopeless, and can only try to run and hide and no longer have protection. That attack tries to paint a picture in which the devil says, “I was successful in de-throning God, He won’t help you now; whatever I say, goes.” But the psalmist begins his address of the attack with the firm statement, “I trust in the Lord for protection.” We have a promise in the Word that we Christians are not given a spirit of fear but can stand bold as a lion:

    Proverbs 30:29-31
29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:

    30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

A lion turns aside for none, so why should the children of God, the Lion of Judah, turn aside when the enemy brings an attack of fear and intimidation? Our confidence should be in Jesus that fear should not climb over our faith to have any dominion over us. God is love, so if we have Him, we have the perfect love that will cast out every fear.

    1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

    Psalm 34:1-8
1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

  13. DO WHAT IS RIGHT

7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Every day we are alive is filled with choices. Choices create habits, habits create lifestyles, lifestyles create destiny, destiny reveals eternity.

There are 2 known powers in the world GOD and the devil. There are 3 known wills in our lives:

    1. The Will of GOD – The most important!
    2. The Will of MAN – The most obeyed and dangerous.
    3. The Will of satan – The most deadly.

Occasionally the will of man aligns with the will of GOD, we call this MINISTRY. The will of satan can strongly influence the the will of man, this is called SIN.

The will of satan will NEVER align with the will of GOD.

Choices we make every day affect the direction of our lives. “The RIGHTEOUS LORD loves righteousness;”

Since JESUS loves righteousness we are showing our love and respect for and to him by making the right choice in every thought, word and action. We cannot be right by making the wrong choice.

Adam and Eve made a choice in the Garden of Eden to disobey a covenant and we are still paying for their choice. We must wise in our daily choices as we never know who, how long and how many people our choices will affect.

Joshua gives a clear path to making the choice of RIGHTEOUSNESS:

Joshua 24:15 ¶ And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

We MUST consider every decision and how it will affect our walk with JESUS, our Spiritual influence, our Testimony and our eternity.

Choose today to trust, honor and obey the voice, will and WORD of GOD. Our eternity depends on our choices.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  14. 1 In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

Trying to live righteously in a world full of wickedness can be hard, our faith is constantly tested and sometimes it seems as though the enemy is always trying to knock us down. He doesn’t stop, but neither will I. I will continue to seek after God during trying times and I will put my trust in him again and again and again because he is faithful.

  15. iLove to eat the Word

    “One Nation Under God”
Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

This scripture takes on new light as I looked up the Hebrew word for “foundation”.

    Foundation H8356
    שׁתה
    shâthâh
    shaw-thaw’
From H7896; a basis, that is, (figuratively) political or moral support: – foundation, purpose.

This word foundation refers to political or moral support. Think about it for a moment. This Nation was built and founded on the Word of God and the principles of God. The Nation that was once “One Nation Under God” has been attacked at its very foundation.

Also, when Saints of the Most High God are attacked they are attacked at thier very foundation. Prayer, Bible reading, and having a genuine love for God are the basic foundations of life and living for Jesus. Once our foundation starts cracking, it will not be long until the whole house falls.

Let us return to the One Nation Under God that help propel us where we are today.

  16. MSG – But God hasn’t moved to the mountains; his holy address hasn’t changed.
He’s in charge, as always, his eyes taking everything in, his eyelids
Unblinking, examining Adam’s unruly brood inside and out, not missing a thing.
He tests the good and the bad alike; if anyone cheats, God’s outraged.

He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Nothing about God has changed. We can trust Him, we can trust His word. He sees all and knows all. The challenge with people is we are not consistent, we change everyday and depending upon our prayer life and study of the Word of God, our opinions and direction in life is effected everyday. We must remain steadfast, unmovable, standing for truth and righteousness daily.

  17. 5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

    James 1:3
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

    2 Samuel 22:31
    31 As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is tried:
he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

    Job 23:10
10 But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

The trying of the righteous is in no way meant to cause stumbling but rather to create a perfect work. God knows perfection and he seeks to perfect us. And though we occasionally fall during the trying, we see our weakness and what we can work on with God.

    Proverbs 24:16
16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:
but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

We can get back up knowing we are working toward a better us.

  18. Psalm 11

A vision of the Lord on His throne (v.4) is all the righteous need for security in the face of the threat of the wicked (v.2).

Rev.4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

    Thank you Jesus!

  19. 1 I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety!
2 The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. (NLT)

In any given situation always keep your trust in The Lord. People may try to bring you down, this word will try to distract your attention from God, but always remember the one you can trust and turn to when these times of trial come.

  20. 1 In the Lord put I my trust:
how say ye to my soul,
Flee as a bird to your mountain?
    (Psalms 11:1 KJVStrongs)

The word trust means hope, refuge, and protection.

Why should I run away from the enemy? Why should I cower in fear? The Lord is my refuge! He is my trust!

Nothing can penetrate a refuge! Nothing can get in! When we are protected by God there isn’t a being created that can get through.

No weapon formed against us shall prosper, but the weapons of our warfare prevail mightily against the enemy.

  21. Vs.1, “In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?”

If we put our trust in the Lord, who is our refuge, our protector, our provider, our strength, our sheild, and so much more, Why would we want to go anywhere else? There is nowhere else to go but to the Lord.

Makes me think of the song, “Where could I go but to the Lord.”
    chorus…
    Where could I go,
    Oh, where could I go,
Seeking a refuge for my soul.
    Needing a friend,
To help me in the end,
Where could I go but to the Lord.

  22. The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven. His eyes behold; His eyelids test and prove the children of men. [Acts 7:49; Rev. 4:2.] (Psalm 11:4 AMP)

Who can compare to our God. Heaven is his throne and the earth is His footstool. He is all seeing and all knowing.

Heaven [is] My throne, and earth the footstool for My feet. What [kind of] house can you build for Me, says the Lord, or what is the place in which I can rest? (Acts 7:49 AMP)

  23. But the lord is in his holy Temple; the lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. For the righteous lord loves justice. The virtuous will see his face. (Psalms 11:4, 7 NLT)
    Amen!
It must be our desire to turn away from what is sin, to hate what The Lord hates and do what is right. Nada esta Escondido, todo biene a la luz!

  24. I trust in the lord for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! (Psalms 11:1 NLT)

A friend makes you fill safe and protected . God is a good friend as you can tell. 💙💙😁

  25. 5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

  26. God loves righteousness, and his countenance upholds us……..”Stay Upright”………..

7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

    “He is Risen”…………………..

  27. “In the Lord put I my trust”. David understood the safest place was to be right before God (Jesus). One must come to the realization, one must first be right with the Lord (Jesus). What a mighty God we serve, thank God for his word! God bless Jerusalem and you all, in Jesus name, Amen

  28. Certainly the Lord is just; he rewards godly deeds; the upright will experience his favor. -Psalms 11:7NET

Doing what’s right according to the word of God will always lead to the favor of the Lord.

I hear a lot of people talking about God’s favor, they testify & sing about it. But it takes more than those things, it takes living it everyday. It is a lifestyle.

  29. 7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

There is right and there is wrong, black and white, hot or cold… That just seems to be the way of God. Being stuck in the middle could be the worst place in life. One foot in the church and one foot in the world will get you nowhere. There are no blessings or enjoyment of life there. The Lord is righteous, and we are to be like Him. Unrighteousness could pretty much me explained as failing short, missing the mark, not balanced, anything that is not right… We have to allow God to shine the light to all areas of our life. Our goal is to be like Him, set apart, sanctified, holy, for He is Holy.

  30. 4 The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

The Lord tries the reins of our hearts- sometimes with a trial & other times with free reins…just to see what we will do. Either way he is trying to bring forth purity in our hearts & souls. When being tried the impurities rise and we can see what needs to be removed from our life….then we are the one that has to remove it ….with the Lord’s help! So Praise the Lord no matter what is happening! Know that he has our best interest in mind.

  31. 5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

  32. The wicked bend the bow and strike the heart how i see it is that the enemy is trying to creep into our lives and wait for the right moment to take you down and that is by your heart
What i mean is that we get so down in sin that we refuse to listen to our loved ones and then when we don’t mean to we take down our loved ones and cast them to the side and bring down all and when we notice what we have down and see the blood on our hands we have no choice but to feel the arrow in our hearts

  33. 4 The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

Isn’t it great to know that no matter what we are going through, God us still on the throne. Our lives may be shaken. We may be hard times, but we know that all things work together for good.

    Ephesians 1:11 (KJV)
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

    Romans 8:28 (KJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

  34. We must trust fully and completely in the Lord. If we are fully grounded in him ( a firm foundation) we will stand in the day of trouble.

  35. 3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Our foundation is The Lord. When Jesus was crucified, the devil though he had destroyed the Foundation. But oh thanks be to God, on the third day he rose again.

  36. 4 The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

God is the holiest of holies and more than we can imagine and he knows and sees all

  37. Faith in the Lord’s Righteousness 2. For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. 3. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? 4. The Lord is in his holy temple, the LORD’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. Ps.2:4 5. The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
