Acts 5

1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told,

23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.

24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.

25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;

35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.

36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.

38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

  1. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Peter said, why has Satan filled thine heart, We should learn a lesson that lying to God or the man of God is not good. This was a simple deed, it was not a commandment that they had to sell what they had, this was a simple you can if you want to. We can do what we want to do and it is left up to us totally, but to say we will and not do it is a sin. If we want to be know as doing what God wants us to do we should do that for the GLORY OF GOD!

  2. 12. And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

    14. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

    28. Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

When all the leadership was with one accord, multitudes were added to the Lord and they filled their region with doctrine.

  3. 12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

When we are in unity (one accord) more can be done and more will come to Jesus.

  4. iLove to eat More Word

And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) (‭Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭13-14‬ KJV)

These 2 scriptures are very interesting for the fact that the Word says ,”And of the rest durst no man join himself to them” then it says, “And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women”. The Word does not contradict itself as some suppose, it does however make a distinction between those wanting to “join” and those who were becoming true “disciples”.

The moral of the story, is to not play church.

  5. God is a God of opportunity, DO NOT ABUSE IT.

Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus with a Kiss and even then if he would of humble himself and cried up to God, I truly believe God would of forgiven him. You know why I know this?? Because Christ knew what was coming way beyond their understanding. I also believe that because Jesus Christ knew that Judas was just a pawn on the trial that He had to endure for men kind to be cleansed for their sin was great but His Mercy was greater.

In this verse Peter gives them an opportunity to come clean, to say the truth, and again I believe that if they would of jumped at the opportunity and say the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help me God. Why continue with a lie if it is obvious Peter already new.

My advice is this when given a second, third, fourth, fifth opportunity hurry, run to the Mercy seat, humble yourselves, and all will be so happy there

  6. The work of God or of men…
38-39 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Who are we working for? I am not referring to how you pay your bills, rather how we live our lives. Do we work for the Lord in our daily lives or on the weekends? I have been a weekend Christian. It seemed no matter what I did at my secular job I never had enough money or time to do the things I wanted to do. I have learned that keeping the Lord first in my life has changed my perspective and changed my reality. On paper, the numbers do not work. However, God is not bound by mathematical figures. Where we might add or subtract the Lord with multiply and divide.

  7. Acts 5:27-29 & 40-42
27, And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28, Saying, did we not striatly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, YE HAVE FILLED JERUSALEM WITH YOUR DOCTRINE, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
29, Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

40, And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41, And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42, And daily in the temple, and in every house, THEY CEASED NOT TO TEACH AND PREACH JESUS CHRIST.

This brought a song to mind this morning.
We won’t stop till the whole world knows
We won’t stop till the whole world knows
We won’t stop till the whole world knows
    That your a great God
    A great God
    Whoa-Whoa

I believe this is the mindset that the disciples had. That no matter what came their way, they couldn’t stop preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ until the whole world knew about the greatness of God.
We have to have this same mindset. That know matter what comes our way, we can’t stop preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ until the whole world knows about the greatness of God. We need to FILL Fort Worth with the doctrine of Jesus Christ.

  8. MORE SOULS

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

The excruciating pain of dishonesty and deception is revealed in and through the judgement of Ananias and Sapphira. The closing comments of chapter 4 reveal the “Impacting our Future Together” of the book of Acts.

Acts 4:34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

While other disciples were giving all, this couple attempted to give some. Their deceptive, dishonest measures cost them their lives. But generated fear of GOD and MORE SOULS were added to the LORD.

My prayer is for MORE SOULS to be added to the LORD. However, I do pray that it is not at the expense of a deceptively, dishonest family that is withholding their commitment to the LORD. JESUS is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and is witness to every thought and action of mankind.

We must approach the altar of the LORD with honesty and sincerity.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iLove TRUTH

  9. Worthy to suffer disgrace 41-42

Suffering for Jesus is suffering with Jesus and has been a source of unusual joy through the ages.

  10. 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

    Thou shalt not steal

If this would happen today, what would we do? How many times have we stolen from God? What we do with our time, our talent, and our treasure. We are the Lords. We belong to him. We are the stewards of what is Gods. And just like the unfit steward we will be let go of we don’t practice good stewardship.

  11. 1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Seeking possessions and material things before Salvation!!! Doing their own will instead of GOD’S will. Costing them EVERYTHING………

    1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

    HELP US LORD

  12. A matter of the heart.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (‭Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭41-42‬ KJV)

What an attitude of perseverance did these men showed! The effort that was displayed despite of all the stumbling blocks that were set before them. They didn’t fear, but simply trusted and believed that The Lord would see them through..again and again!!!
When you truly believe in what you stand for nothing can stop you, there may be some obstacles along the way, but your determination will get you further in life to accomplish all that you must. God already has your life paved to walk the course, stay with it and don’t give up, you got ‘it’ in you to win. Rejoice as the apostles did. Keep teaching and preaching despite the nay sayers!!

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬ KJV)

  13. 29 But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.

This scripture isn’t an excuse to ignore the man of God in your life. I believe God won’t tell you something without telling the man of God in your life first. In the last days we know this world is going to get crazy. Although certain things are legal, doesn’t make it right in the eyes of the Lord. Obedience is a sign of love, so love the Lord and obey Him.

    Matthew 22:37
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

  14. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.
4 The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!” (NLT)

My mother would always say, “you’re not lying to me, your lying to God” (and point her finger up to the sky). So of course either my sister or myself would be convicted in our little hearts and hesitantly let the truth out because we knew punishment of some sort was going to follow.

Obedience is obedience, deception is deception, and a lie is a lie. No matter how you twist your head and try to change perspective, your actions are what they are. We have the choice to either lie and deceive and pay the wages of sin which is death or we can as Bro. Johnson preached, love the truth and please our Heavenly Father by always walking in His truth.

  15. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.
4 The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!” (NLT)

  16. MSG – 11 By this time the whole church and, in fact, everyone who heard of these things had a healthy respect for God. They knew God was not to be trifled with.

Too many people have lost their healthy respect for the Lord. They think just because it is in the Word it doesn’t mean what it used to mean, or it doesn’t apply to them. Sometimes God has used examples that will cut right to the chase of our heart and pierce our consciousness to recognize He means what He says.

  17. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

This needs to be our attitude through all suffering, no matter what kind.

  18. no lies, no deception, no dishonesty, God knows all and he expects us to do what is right in all aspects of our life.

  19. Counted Worthy !!!! 38. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39. But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. 40. And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Je’-sus, and let them go. 41. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. Matt. 5 : 12 42. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Je’-sus Christ. Acts 2 : 46 Teach And Preach the Word men !!!!

  20. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

You cannot lie to God and think it will not come out. God knows all thing and expects us to do what is right in his eyes. Nobody is perfect but that doesn’t mean we can’t strive for it!

  21. Acts 5:12 The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomons Colonnade. No one else dared join then even though they were highly regarded by the people. Nevertheless more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. As a result people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by .crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits and all of them were healed.

  22. 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. (ESV) Acts 5:29

Obedience is the key to honor God, even when it’s beyond our understanding and it looks like it’s coming out of left field, it is always better to obey God. God knows what he’s doing. Let’s not forget what happened to those who disobeyed Him in the bible, and the consequences that come after.

  23. 38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

The work of God will not be stopped. The question now becomes who are you working for? Something that is not of God will not be able to stand. Remember that just like a secular work place, God has standards and order. We need to be aligned with God that we don’t find ourselves out of place, out of covering, and like it’s mentioned here, just die and disperse. In ministry we are given a great example here; keep the truth and keep the unity. Those that didn’t fell dead and those that did the doors were opened for them.

  24. vss. 18-20 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

” He that the Son hath set free is free indeed ”
We are not bound . I pray that GOD will wake sleeping gaints for HIS KINGDOM is and lives within our hearts The Holy Ghost, and
To bring to fruision that which lies dormant within us.

  25. Ananias and Sapphira’s severe punishment is similar to that of Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, at the commencement of the Jewish priesthood (Lev 10:2); and the way in which Aaron and his family are forbidden to mourn for those whom God so punished may teach us what interpretation to put upon the judgment of Ananias and Sapphira. For they were of the members of the infant Church; they had presumed to come nigh unto God and in a wrong spirit. We can see some gifts had been offered, and in this they differed from Simon Magus (Acts 8:20) and Elymas (Acts 13:11), which they are sometimes compared to, so that the words which God spake of Nadab and Abihu may be used of these offenders, “I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me.” We see what evils the spirit of greed and hypocrisy wrought in the Corinthian Church, even to the profanation of the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor 11:17-21) We also come into the presence of God like the sons of Aaron, because we have the salvation purchased by Jesus’ blood and now are now called priests. We have the Spirit of the Lord living in us, and if we lie to the Holy Spirit we are rejecting the Spirit of God (the reason why they each “gave up the ghost” vs5&10)and “blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven” (Matt 12:31). The death of Ananias and his wife is the finger of God at work to save his Church from these dangers. We simply cannot be suitable vessels for the work of the Gospel if we harbor a spirit of Ananias and Sapphira. He issues a warning for us today to be real with Him, the one who knows everything, and owns everything.

  26. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

We should not lie to God or anyone . He knows .

  27. 29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!
39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

Never fight with God or people God uses, God will always be with them and will always have the victory! Listen to God because he will always be with you and never leave you with God there is victory! 🙂

  28. 17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

Because of the Great God we serve, He will protect us from all that come against. We have no reason to fear because He has a hold of every thing in our lives!
    Deuteronomy 7:23
But the LORD your God will deliver them over to you, throwing them into great confusion until they are destroyed.

  29. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

Do you have that much faith? Is this the mountain moving faith that the Bible talks about? We can safely say that Peter walked in a amazing anointing. It was demonstrated miracle working power that was upon them that testified. The people knew without a shadow of doubt the healing would come, and just like Jesus told that woman with the issue of blood, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.

When we take the step in faith and reach for God without doubt, we can extract healing virtue from God.

  30. 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

If God be for us who can be against us. The word tells us that his thoughts are above our thoughts and his ways above our ways. If he said it then it will surely come to pass. When we are in the waiting we must have faith, and trust God that we knows just what he is doing. Nothing can overthrow God. His kingdom will reign, and he will receive the glory. We must not allow ourselves to be found on the wrong side of what God is doing lest we be called his enemy. Our sensitivity to the spirit, and submission to authority will ensure that we are poised, and aligned with him and his purpose.

  31. You can’t stop what God is doing!

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

A fight that no experienced fighter could ever win!

  32. 12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

God displayed his ability to show the men of God through the gifts of the spirit to ‘know’ which got the attention of potential new believers. Then Unity brought the many signs and wonders for the Purpose of making believers.

  33. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

God knows when you’ve given half heartedly. But this example is really talkin about trying to holding back what you have dedicated or given to God. This is the dangerous place you can get to when you commit to God all these wonderful things that you are going to do for his Kingdom and you find yourself holding back. You find yourself going to the Ranger game instead of the prayer you committed to, or you are golfing Saturday morning instead of outreach. These are outrageous examples but it can be as simple as holding back in worship. God knows our hearts and he wants all of it!

  34. 32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

This verse really jumped out at me tonight. We know we can’t give anyone the Holy Ghost. Even so, sometimes it’s difficult to understand why some people don’t get the Holy Ghost while you are praying for them and have walked them through the steps. God looks on the heart. He knows who has truly repented and who is just talking. Man looks on the outward, we cannot tell the whole truth. God gives the Holy Ghost to those who obey him! It is gods will for all to be saved but he will not fill anyone with Holy Ghost until they obey him.

  35. 3Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.

We all have sinned, and we can ask ourselves why have we allowed Satan to enter into our hearts? Satan is roaming around looking for every opportunity to get us to sin. We must be able to fight against him, but we need the Holy Spirit within us. It’s impossible win a spiritual battle without the Holy Spirit within us. I thank God for dwelling in me and giving me the experience of receiving the Holy Spirit!

  36. Acts 5: 1-2

Sold a possession. The word here used (κτῆμα) does not indicate whether this was land or some other property. In ver. 3, however, we learn that it was land that was sold; and the word here translated possession is translated in the Syriac, Arabic, and the Latin Vulgate, land. The pretence for which this was sold was doubtless to have the appearance of religion. That it was sold could be easily known by the Christian society, but it might not be so easily known for how much it was sold. Hence the attempt to impose on the apostles. It is clear that they were not under obligation to sell their property. But, having sold it for the purposes of religion, it became their duty, if they professed to devote the avails of it to God, to do it entirely, and without any reservation.

    2. And kept back. The word here used means properly to separate, to part: and then it means to separate surreptitiously or clandestinely for our own use a part of public property, as taxes, &c. It is used but three times in the New Testament, ver. 3, and in Tit. 2:10, where it is rendered purloining. Here it means that they secretly kept back a part, while professedly devoting all to God.

Albert Barnes, Notes on the New Testament: Acts, ed. Robert Frew (London: Blackie & Son, 1884–1885), 92–93.

  37. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

Ananias heard and fell dead others heard and feared. There are you two kinds of hears those that hear and die and those that hear and are transformed because they fear. Fearing out of reverence and respect.

  38. The end of verse 16 in MSG says “….And they all were healed.” What a sight that must have been….miracle upon miracle upon miracle. I want to see more upon more upon more.

Verses 41-42 AMP “So they went out from the presence of the council (Sanhedrin), rejoicing that they were being counted worthy [dignified by the indignity] to suffer shame and be exposed to disgrace for [the sake of] His name.
Yet [in spite of the threats] they never ceased for a single day, both in the temple area and at home, to teach and to proclaim the good news (Gospel) of Jesus [as] the Christ (the Messiah).” We too must share the good news at church, at work, at home or where ever we are.

  39. “Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.” Those that were false were fearful of what could come. As one hears all manner of corruption trying to arise, one should all the more get to the temple (church) and see what will grow out of praise and worship to the King (Jesus). Dear God, let me truly hear you and your man of God; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. In God we trust! What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  40. 38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

When it’s not Gods will things will not work out because men like to do things as if we can do it alone with no help. However, when we put God first before EVERYTHING He will allow things to flow because we are under His submission. Just like the Word says….32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.:)
    HOLY GHOST IS POWER!!!!

  41. Hunger For More

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

Their desperation left them willing to take a chance on receiving nothing in favor of staying the same and not trying to change. Even if only some of them were touched, it was worth it. Their hunger for more became bigger then their comfort, and miracles followed in their wake. Our hunger for MORE produces an opportunity for God to reveal His power and sovereignty, but we must hunger for MORE above the less.

    Mark 2:1-2
1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

  42. 9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
It is was a sin to lie back then and still a sin to lie now. God said if you lie you will spend eternity in hell.

  43. And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. (‭Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭2, 9-10‬ KJV)

    The value of the truth.
These two people lid to the holy ghost and lost their lives this is what happens to people who sit on church pews all over the world and never love the truth. They will die if we don’t reach them with he truth.

  44. 16. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about into Jerusalem, being sick or vexed with unclean spirits, and they were healed every one.

Lord, the city of Fort Worth needs healing. Let this church be a beacon of YOUR LIGHT against the darkness, leading these people back to you.

  45. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed. (‭Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ESV)

They prepared their way to get to the place where their healing was. They expected to be healed. And in the end all were healed. What is the Lord speaking to you today? Have you made preparations and are you expecting God to complete just what he said?

  46. We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.” (‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭5‬:‭32‬ NLT)

We are Jesus witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit, this was a reliable testimony, and because it was based on eyewitness testimony, which was also confirmed by God. In Jesus Name Amen!!
