Exodus 26

1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

2 The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.

3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.

4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.

5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.

7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats’ hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.

8 The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall be all of one measure.

9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.

10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

11 And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers’ skins.

15 And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.

16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.

17 Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.

19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.

20 And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:

21 And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.

23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

26 And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.

28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.

29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.

30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.

31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.

33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

36 And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.

37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.

  1. While reading about the details of the tabernacle and all the gold, I was reminded of the book of Acts. At the gate Beautiful when the lame man was asking for alms and Peters response was “…silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

You see the tabernacle was made of the finest and most costly material that one day would perish because it was not eternal. Yet, after Jesus died and rose again we took on the position of being His Holy place. We became the living tabernacle of God and the beauty is that our beauty is not earthly.

This natural man was formed from the dust of the grown but my spirit man was formed and is continually being shaped and formed by the Holy Ghost that is living within me. As I allow myself to grow in Him I no longer have the nature of sin but the charcter of God is strengthened with in me and I take in the nature of God.

My natural instinct because my God instinct when I die daily in order to walk in the spirit daily.

  2. Attention to details

Details are important to the Lord. This chapter gives a glimpse to this fact. There are many scriptures in the bible that deal with details and the recording of facts. Some say “The devil is in the details,” meaning solutions break down when you examine them closely enough. Some say “God is in the details,” meaning opportunities for discovery and creativity come from digging into the details.

Sometimes we can do our most creative when faced with the least important problems. The important problems often demand quick solutions, so we fall back on familiar methods. This is where we expand our horizons for growth or go fall into a repetitive rut. Do repeat familiar behavior because that is all we know or can we trust in the Lord to teach us new ways of coping with difficult situations?

  3. ILove to eat more Word

As to the construction of this place of atonement and worship, every detail was precisely laid out in a great divine blueprint that was to be followed to the letter in order for the salvation of mankind.

  4. In reading this chapter in the AMP version we see the details, the loops, the panels, the hooks that all come together to make one unit. Verse 30 says “You shall erect the tabernacle according to its plan [the direction corresponding to its meaning and purpose] which has been shown to you on the mountain.” What has the Lord shown to us at POFW?? To work together to reach this city….We each have a purpose, some are support poles, others bring things together; but, we all must remain under the covering to add to the continuation of this body/unit.

  5. GOD IS IN THE DETAILS

37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.

People often ask why do we have so many expectations in the Apostolic Pentecostal church. One could also ask the question. Why do we need all those details of wood, brass and gold for a tent in the wilderness?

The answer is simple. GOD IS IN THE DETAILS. When we consider the details that GOD laid out for a Tabernacle (tent) in the wilderness, we should also consider the details that GOD has laid out for the tabernacle (our body) in the wilderness of this world.

We can also relate to the details of the Tabernacle as we build a house for the LORD. Over 20 pages of detailed drawings of size, number and matter for the the construction of The POFW. How much MORE is GOD interested in the building of the eternal souls of man.

GOD IS IN THE DETAILS so we should pay attention to the details. Read, Study, Pray, Worship, Give, Evangelize, Praise, Testify.

  6. “The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The curtains are to connected into one curtain. They are designed separate, but God wanted they to be so joined together that they became one tremendous curtain.in ministry we all come from separate places. We are separate panels. They God has us joined together to make one tremendous group that serves together in unity. Bus teams, children’s teams, music team, hospitality, cleaning teams, care teams, maintinence teams, and pastoral teams ( forgive me if your team may have been left out) all are the individual large curtains. When we all come together it creates THE CHURCH which is a tremendous work! Let’s be in unity and create re massive covering for our church to operate through.

  7. Exodus 26:5-6
    5) Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.
    6) And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.

What an amazing God we serve.
We can see here, even in the making of the Tabernacle, that God has the same plan for the Church to be one body.
The Tabernacle has many parts, yet it is one Tabernacle. Same in the church, the church has many members, but we come together (uniified) to make one body in Christ Jesus.

  8. 34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

To me this means, the mercy God gave to you , the testimony of where God found you ,you should put within . so when you go to your prayer closet with Jesus you will be always reminded to have compassion on others, and be reminded you need Jesus today more then you did yesterday. .

    More mercy… More testimony…

Because we will be overcomers by the word of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb.

  9. And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you betwee

We live with the Vail gone. No more separation from God. We can have a one on one relationship with Him. Thanks be to God.

  10. Exodus 26:31 (NLT)

31 “For the inside of the Tabernacle, make a special curtain of finely woven linen. Decorate it with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.

The cherubim are the Angels of God who worship him and give him glory. The veil represents our flesh. The Angels already praise him but to get to his presence we must deal with our flesh. Just a thin layer and we are in the presence of God and the Angels.

Yet no one can be brought to this holy place but by their own volition. We all individually must deal with our flesh. No one can do it for us. It’s our decision. Yet just beyond the flesh lie a whole world of miraculous possibility and power of God.

  11. 33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

  12. 1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.
the tabernacle plans were very specific and important to be done correctly. God very much still works this way he has very specific order and direction for the way he wants things to be in his house. It is important for us to follow that order.

  13. 35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

With such detail, how can anyone try to argue that God does not care about details….

  14. “Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle”. The Lord (Jesus) was very specific. One would be wise to reverence what God (Jesus) does, also. Dear God, let me be mindful and respectful of your church; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  15. Amazing how exact God wanted the tabernacle, that is why we do everything with detail because God expects everything to be with detail and correction. Going into this new year into a new construction we are gonna have to grow into a new dimension that God has led us to because we have the details in plan and ready for action. We know that the church is going to grow so fast that we need to be ready mentally and spiritually because we need it to all be done with excellence for His Kingdom. Hallelujah!!!!!

  16. 33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

I am so thankful that Jesus tore that division! Im so thankful for my relationship with God!!!

  17. 33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

Before only the preists could reach this place and be in the presnece of God. Thanks be to God that sent us His Spirit that we too can be near him in his presnece.

  18. As slaves in Egypt, the Israelites learned to make exquisite cloth. They make this caused by twisting to gather many find strands a linen and then weaving them into fabric this method produces a soft, heavy, extremely strong cloth. Once it’s embroidered, this colorful Curtain will enclose the Most Holy Place which is where the arc, the symbol of God’s presence, will sit (Ex 25:22). The significance of the colors are red: sin blue: wealth purple: royalty. The high priest can enter the Most Holy Place once a year. There he makes atonement before God for the nations sins (Lev 16:2-3). Thanks to the blood of Jesus we can go before Him anytime and without a high priest or curtain in the way.

  19. “You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy.”(Exodus‬ ‭26:34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

The Lord is very specific in the design of the tabernacle. Here many curtains are mentioned and each one holds their own purpose. The most significant is the curtain that separates the Most Holy Place. The priest is only allowed inside to atone for the sins of the people once a year. Jesus died for our sins and in Matt 27:51 records that as Jesus dies, this curtain is torn in two down from top to bottom. Christ’s death provides total cleansing. There is no longer any need for separation from our holy God. We can now freely approach Jesus because of His perfect sacrifice
