2 Chronicles 7

1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house.

3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.

5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the Lord, which David the king had made to praise the Lord, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.

8 Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.

9 And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the Lord had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord, and the king’s house: and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

12 And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;

18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

  1. We are hungry for you. Your bride is desperate for you. We need you Jesus we need you personally to help us and to heal our land. Save us from this wicked generation. Jesus!
We are nothing we never been anything. Forgive us as I turn from my wicked ways. To see your glory shine like ever before.
Father hear me. Hear our cry. Make this right and use my generation to show the world your majesty.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

  2. 2 Chronicles 7:14,15 If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

While this promise was originally given to Solomon regarding the people of Israel, it is certainly applicable to all who will call on the Lord in repentance and faith. These verses stand as a high expresssion of God’s loving readiness to hear the prayers of a repentant people.

Deut.28:5 And all the people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.

Isaiah 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

  3. The end of verse 3 in the MSG says “….Yes! God is good! His love never quits!.” God’s love never quits and he is good period. We must never quit; but, rather come out stronger from whatever storm we may be facing.

  4. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
    17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

Side note: I Love the blessings of the LORD. He is never stingy on blessings. He goes all out. 🙂

God heard the prayer and saw the sacrifice and He answered with fire! When you seek first the kingdom of God and God righteousness then all things shall be added unto you… Solomon was not only blessed in every area, but his worship was on fire as long as he kept his eyes on the LORD.

  5. 3. And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

    1 Kings 18:
    38. Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

    39. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

When we pray until the fire falls, those around us will recognize that He is God and worship Him with us.

  6. And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 7. 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

    Pray for America!!!!

  8. “”People will answer, ‘Because they have deserted the Lord. He is the God of their people who lived long ago. He brought them out of Egypt. But they have been holding on to other gods. They’ve been worshiping them. They’ve been serving them. That’s why he has brought all of this horrible trouble on them.’ “”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:22‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

The price of having pocket idols is never worth it. The blessings that God has for his children outweigh the life of idolatry. My prayer is that we don’t find ourself hanging on to other gods while trying to live in the blessings of God. In this chapter we have heard directly from the Lord if we as children of God would humble ourselves, pray, seek his face and turn away from my wickedness then he would hear her cry, forgive us and hear our land. I pray that all idolatry that maybe hidden within our hearts would be exposed by God’s light.

“You have been set free from sin. God has made you his slaves. The benefit you gain leads to holy living. And the end result is eternal life. When you sin, the pay you get is death. But God gives you the gift of eternal life because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:22-23‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  9. 1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

It’s a amazing thing to watch God bless and honor his people’s sacrifices. It was like a stamp of approval from God that he accepted them and that his glory came down. There is nothing better than Offering a sacrifice to God and for him to accept it with his Glory and his spirit. My prayer is that when I offer sacrifice to him that He accepts it and that His glory fills my life.

  10. 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

We need to always seek his face in prayer. But there is also more to it than that, we also need to live a holy life. For it says we need to “turn away” from wicked ways. So if pray every day and we don’t turn away from the earhtly and sinful things in our lives, it won’t do us any good. We need both, and then God will heal our land.

  11. 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

    2 Chronicles 7:14Amplified Bible (AMP)

14 and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Very popular quoted scripture humbling, ourself before God, craving what He wants for our life. Require as a necessity. If we take a look around us we all have more than necessity but if we take a look at our spiritual life are we craving even after just a portion the necessary . I must crave daily more of God and less of self. He increases as we decrease.

  12. iLove to Grow in the Word
2 Chronicles 7:21-22 NLT (21) And though this Temple is impressive now, all who pass by will be appalled. They will ask, ‘Why did the LORD do such terrible things to this land and to this Temple?’ (22) “And the answer will be, ‘Because His people abandoned the LORD, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and they worshiped other gods instead and bowed down to them. That is why He has brought all these disasters on them.'”

If we really caught the concept of these scriptures, there would be revival like never before. The idea behind the temple is not a building. The true temple of the Lord is our bodies.

1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

True revival will bring the blessings of God into our lives. God gets our attention through trials of sorts and all that comes against us is not always from the devil…

  13. 14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. 16 For I have chosen this Temple and set it apart to be holy—a place where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart. (NLT)

We are now the temple of God, so to think this all applies to us is amazing! He hears every prayer, sees every tear, and even every moment of rejoicing. He had chosen us to be set apart, to honor Him always. And because He loves us so, because we are dear to His heart and the apple of His eye, He keeps watch over us. God, reveal to us those things that would keep You from dwelling within us. I desire to be a holy temple that pleases You and that You desire to dwell in.

  14. 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

  15. The time is now!!!

What happened? What happened to the fire? What happened to the glory of God? What happened to the pentecostal church? Has the fire ran out over the past 2000 years? The internal fire cannot be ousted. But it’s a personal thing. The Holy eternal fire cannot be put out ,yes. But for the individual, one can oust it out, by letting it go out. We must keep the fire, the personal eternal fire going. It’s not hard, but we have become lazy in keeping our own fire burning. Just as the story of the ten virgins. You have to keep the oil ,the Holy Ghost with you at all times. Because the night is coming that the Holy Ghost will not be able to be felt.
The time is now church to buy more oil.

  16. 19 “But if you[a] turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you[b] and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples.

There is always a consequence in everything we do and everywhere we go. There are rules and regulations everywhere we go. When we do wrong here in earth there are consequences so much more in heaven. Just because God loves us and is a God of grace doesn’t mean we can do whatever we want. We need to wake up and realize everything we do will benefit our walk with God or curse us. Not only to us but to those that are around us. I’ve seen people be a in a mess, they wonder why, yet don’t want to follow God!!!!! If you have all the answers to pass a test why wouldn’t you use them????? Jesus is always there to help us we just have to get over ourselves like Pastor says and let God be God. Don’t try to do things that only God can do. We need to do the natural and God do the supernatural. He’s the only one that can do the EVERYTHING!!!! Thank you Jesus for disciplining me!!!!

  17. Mighty Move of God – why so soon forgotten…

I can only imagine being there and seeing the hand of God move in such a way. There are events in my life that I can still reflect on and kind of transport myself to that moment and relive the emotions, sounds, sights and smells of the event. It would seem that I may never forget these special moments in life. How is it the Israelite’s forget so easily? It won’t be long before they start worshiping other images and suffer the wrath of the Lord.

I am not perfect and strive daily to be the man that God wants me to be. How is it that we humans can forget how good God is and how his mercy and grace has saved innumerable times throughout our lives?

  18. 3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

  19. AMP – 14 and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Lord let me have that craving, requiring as a necessity to seek your face on a daily basis so that I might be pleasing to you.

There are many “if you will, then I will” in this chapter. God is not a puppet on a string, we must act first and then He will react to us.

  20. GROW YOUR FIRE

1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house.

Do may prayers invite and invoke the FIRE of GOD? Solomon had ended his prayer that began in chapter 6 verse 14-42 give us an example of prayer. Consider praying these verses and insert personal requests, desires and needs.

I glean from this passage that each prayer session should conclude with the FIRE of the Holy Ghost falling in our lives.

Are my prayers producing FIRE or passing TIME?

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  21. 1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

FOR HE IS GOOD, FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER!!!!
    HALLELUJAH!!!

God’s glory will fill the temple!

  22. 2 Chronicles 7:14
    14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Isaiah 59:2 tells us, “But your iniquities have seperated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

If you’re struggling today and feel like God has turned away from you and is not hearing your prayer, most likely it is because there is SIN in your life.
What you must do is: HUMBLE yourself before God, PRAY, SEEK His face, and TURN from your wicked ways – Then He will hear your prayers, Forgive you, and bring Healing into your life.

  23. 1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

    Grow pray
This take verse me back to when pastor was talking about pray is there are we growing Our pray is there fire in our pray noice yesterday in the blog Solomon pray that he was not praying for his self but he was praying for his people that

Verses 3 said they saw the fire came down. That means to while Solomon was praying it was affecting his people.
They fire was spreading i believe Solomon already had the fire
The real fire happen not when your praying for yourself but i believe the real fire happen when you not worry about your problem but you praying for other people

  24. 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Sometimes we wonder if God hears our prayer, but I’d there is sin in your life or other things that may hinder you from seeking God with your whole heart. My God is a forgiving God but we must practice true repentance.

  25. 1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

My what a awesome time we had last night at ladies prayer. Before we knew it, it was 8:00 yet many of us desires to stay in His presence. I know we experienced His Glory filling the prayer room last night and I’m so excited to see His fire continue to fall because of prayer meeting like that.

  26. 1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

Pray with such a passion that the fire of God falls and gets the attention of all those around you!! When a fire starts it does not just stay in that one area but it scatters as far as it can touch. If we start a fire with our prayers it will scatter all across this city!! Pofw don’t lose your passion, don’t lose your fire, we must make a change!!

  27. God is truly my friend.
This passage is true if God sees that we are worshipping other God’s, He will snatch out blessing away from us.

    I love you Jesus.

  28. 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

  29. 2 Chronicles 7: 17 As for you if you walk before before me faithfully as David you father did and do as I command and observe my decrees and laws. I will establish your royal throne as a covenanted with David your father when I said You shall never fail to have done successor to rule over Israel. But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worshiped them then I will uproot Israel from my land which I have given them and will reject this Temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword an object of ridicule among our peoples. This Temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be appalled and say. Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple? People will answer because they have forsaken the Lord the God of their ancestors who brought them out of Egypt. And have embraced other gods worshipping and serving them that is why that he brought all this disaster on them.

  30. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
    2 Chronicles 7:14‭-‬15 KJV
    http://bible.com/1/2ch.7.14-15.KJV

The Lord’s eyes and ears are open just waiting for that humble, sincere and repented prayer to heal our pain, sounds and lands that have long bin barren. We just have to humble ourselves and cry out to Him. He is anxiously waiting to bless us if we really want Him.

  31. 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Now its a really good time to humble ourselves and seek the Lord and especially pray for our land. We dont want for this nation that was established upon goldly principles and the Word of God to become a proverb of what used to be. In God we trust.

  32. “And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.” The word of God (Judge) provides the answer. History can be helpful, which one that is wise will learn from it; whereas one that is unwise will not. Dear God, open our eyes and ears. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  33. 3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Every knee will one day now befor christ

  34. “Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.” Solomon did offer a sacrifice; however so did the people. We can be blessed because of the sacrifices of another; however it will only become personal once we offer our own sacrifice. God help us comprehend that we would willing offer up sacrifices to you, in Jesus name.

  35. Solomon spends 7 years building the temple and 13 years constructing his royal palace (1 Ki 6:38; 7:1). We have to take into account that they didnt have the technology we do today were buildings can be built in a matter of months. After finishing both projects, the Lord comes to Solomon during the night (2 Ch 1:7; 7:12). Although God’s nocturnal meeting with Solomon is recorded in both 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles, the Chronicles account has an additional message from the Lord. God says, “If my people will bend their knees and hearts (after disobeying me) and take time to talk with me about it and stop the behavior creating distance between us, then I will listen attentively to their prayers and will pardon their habitual sin and repair their lives (2 Ch 7:14). God gives Solomon and the Israelites a “recipe” for renewal and blessing. The ingredients include humility, prayer, commitment and repentance. This is just as valid for us today. If we wish to see renewal and blessing in our lives and in our church the same must be done.

  36. So much in this passage hinges on being humble. All the promises given here could never take place without humility. It is so much easier to bless someone that is humble rather than full of pride.

  37. 19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

Follow God’s commandments and make live a righteous life before Him while the blood of Jesus is still upon us.

  38. v11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD and the king’s house; and Solomon successfully accomplished all that came into his heart to make in the house of the LORD and in his own house.

Our labor for God will not be in vain: HE will reward those who diligently labor for HIS purpose.

  39. 1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

After all the work they had done and all the sacrificing they did to build the temple and all the consecrations they devoted to God during this time to build the temple. Solomon, after having dedicated years upon years to do something this big for God STILL sacrificed and prayed. It’s too easy to get caught up in the work of God and think your really doing something special for the Lord but the spirit of God came down after the sacrifice was made. We cannot become weary in well doing but our sacrifices and prayers to God must continue. No matter how much we dedicate to God…we still need those elements in play.

  40. 6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the Lord, which David the king had made to praise the Lord, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

This is why the people that involved with music need to be held to higher standards. They need to know what playing an instrument at church really is, ministering

  41. In the beginning of this chapter we see that there was no room for the priests when the Spirit of the Lord fell down. This should be expressed in our ministry; there is no room for self when the Spirit of the Lord is at work. Leave you behind and allow God to work.

  42. 2 Chronicles 7:3 (KJV Strong’s)
3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

When the people see the fire in the church revival will come to the world.

  43. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.

God is always watching over you at all times. He see’s our actions. But does he hear our prayers? We have to speak out to him, just like talking to anyone else. Let God hear your prayers, and he will meet your needs.

  44. We need another experience like that where the glory of the Lord fills the house. It’s time that we stop playing church and start being the church. How can we expect God to do great things in our life and not obey his commandments? The willing and obedient vessels will receive the reward.
