Job 39

1 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

2 Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

3 They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

4 Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

5 Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

6 Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

7 He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

8 The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10 Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

11 Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

12 Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

13 Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

14 Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

15 And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her’s: her labour is in vain without fear;

17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

18 What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

19 Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

20 Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

21 He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

22 He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

23 The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

24 He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

25 He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

27 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

28 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

29 From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

30 Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

  1. Now the unexpected occurs God whom Job has complained is beyond reach suddenly appears but God does not com
e to be questions and challenges Job to answer.

  2. The next set of questions emphasizes the marvels of the animal world the Lion the Raven the wild Donkey the Unicorn or better the wild ox the Peacock and the Ostrich the Horse the Hawk and the Eagle

  3. 26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

Wisdom can take you places, but it’s through God that wisdom comes from. If man’s wisdom was the only thing, then where would we be at right now? No. It’s God’s wisdom and power that has kept this earth from pulling apart.

  4. ….well Job?

God, You’re so awesome in all You do! These lyrics come to mind: “Indescribable, uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. You are amazing God. All powerful, untameable, awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim: You are amazing God.” I can only imagine Job fallen to his knees, bowing, awestruck, and speechless.

  5. God is still speaking to Job reminding him of all the majestic works of HIS Hands.
We forget that Heaven is Gods throne and this Earth is just a footstool. How majestically is His power. Do we not believe if He is so majestic that He knows what we are facing. Do we not believe He will sustain us. We have to give our testimony to others of His glory and not our pitiful feelings of woe is me……….we must Go We must believe we must live it. Yep even in the midst of the fiery trials of life . Hear oh Isreal the Lord our God is one Lord. If the devil trembles at his name then we should realize what type of power we posses within us. So now Go and seize the day and see who God will lead you to.

  6. Job 39:16-18 (NLT)
16 She is harsh toward her young,
as if they were not her own.
She doesn’t care if they die.
17 For God has deprived her of wisdom.
He has given her no understanding.
18 But whenever she jumps up to run,
she passes the swiftest horse with its rider.

The ostrich can run but it doesn’t make a good mother. It doesn’t care for its young but it looks amazing in its stride. It doesn’t think of the welfare of the recently born but its talent is impeccable.

I have heard you wouldn’t want an ostrich for a mother. But what stuck out to me is that the ostrich looks so powerful, and swift.

I see a danger in being talented, anointed, and gifted but not caring for the babies. What a tragedy it is to be excellent at what you do, and do more harmful than helpful to newborns in the kingdom of God.

Yes we can be talented, but we must have a burden for the lost, and a desire to see new people become disciples in the kingdom. This isn’t a show. This is a militaristic search and rescue mission.

  7. This reminds me of the teaching we have received from Pastor and Bro. and Sis. Morgan of not being a ostrich. To love the babies in Christ that God gives us and not forsaking them but clinging to them and assimilating them.

  8. God Created Life

39:21 Hebrews page think the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength : he Goeth on to meet the armed men.

Jeremiah 8:6 I hearkened and and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying,What have I done? everyone turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

Psalm 14:2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men,to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

  9. LOOKS ARE NOT EvERYTHING

13 Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
14 Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
15 And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
    16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her’s: her labour is in vain without fear;
17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

As the LORD continues to question Job, he presents him some intriguing considerations. Obviously GOD is not inquiring for an answer or response, but to make a point as to who it is that Job has questioned.

The uniqueness of the the peacock and the ostrich are an odd combination. While the peacock is one of beauty and splendor, the ostrich is flat out ugly. However they both garner looks in a crowd. However the LORD reveals something about the ostrich that is troubling. Verse 16 says that she is hardened against her loved ones snd verse 17 says that GOD has deprived her of wisdom and understanding.

Notice the ostrich is FAST, but she is also careless.

18 What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

I am deeply thankful for the people that have taken time to invest in my Spiritual well being. I am also thankful for those that are investing in the Spiritual well being of others. May the LOVE of GOD through JESUS Christ reveal to us the LOVE we should share toward one another.

  10. Like God does for Job, God does for me
He reminds me daily that all things are capable, that the next step i take is gonna be for him always and always and always. I pray he uses me daily and sure enough he does always. I pray people can see the fire behind me and God allows that always.
I cant frown, i know God has a reason for everything i go through. All i can do is smile…always
God bless you all know that you can do all things through Christ. Always

  11. 1 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

2 Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

ultimately we really dont have any control over things in the manner that we think we do. We dont have a handle on the things that happen to us at all. When we understand that everything is in Gods hands and we really have no control over what happens, we can feel a surge of peace smooth over us. Its not up to us where we go with God or what God allows in our lives, that is Gods decision should we just submit to what he wants to allow and not question why

  12. Here in this chapter god is continue to talk to job but this time he’s talk to job about wisdom. Wisdom comes from God only god can give us wisdom we will be unwise to walk in our own ways we will be wises if we follow God. You see in the yesterday chapter and today chapter how lost how nothing we would be without GOD . GOD IS wisdom but if choose to follow this world then now we don’t have god wisdom now we have the world which is not of god so . this world can never compete with god because god made this world so the ture wisdom comes from god

  13. iLove to Go Blog
13“The ostrich flaps her wings grandly,
but they are no match for the feathers of the stork.
14She lays her eggs on top of the earth,
letting them be warmed in the dust.
15She doesn’t worry that a foot might crush them
or a wild animal might destroy them.
16She is harsh toward her young,
as if they were not her own.
She doesn’t care if they die.

Oh ye pagan ostriches, repent and take care of your children. This is where we sadly find most of our generation today. In a society that really do not care about the future generation. Kids running the streets at night, parents really not involved or interested in raising them. If parents would check their children’s phones, they would be shocked at all the wild beasts that lurk in their private messages and snapchats crushing and destroying the innocence of their young. Let’s raise the standard and get our heads out of the sand…Raise the head young ostrich parent, put on some bravery, and mount up with wings like eagles and destroy the serpent out of your house. boom

  14. Do you know? Can you understand? Have you?

    No.

We cannot fathom the amazing creative power of God, or his knowledge of things that are, things that have been, and things to come. In our finite minds we so often focus on us and our problem that we make it bigger than our God in our minds. Remember who God is and that he is able.

  15. Job 39:14-16 (The Ostrich)
    14) Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmth them in the dust,
    15) And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
    16) She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her’s; her labour is in vain without fear.

As a Sunday School teacher, the Kingdom Cadets (K-1), are the most important to me. As one of their teachers, it is my responsibility (my labour) to teach them about JESUS and protect them at all times from any harm. I love the children!
As a church, it is our responsibility (our labour) to teach and protect the children, youth, motion, and new babies in Christ.

Remember our Labour of Love is not in vain.
1 Cor. 15-58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
Heb. 6:10, “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. “

  16. God has given each animal he created their specific traits & it’s interesting to read in particular about how fearless the horse is, esp in war. It’s troubling however that people can be like the ostrich-both in having their hands in the sand when fearful and also in having no regard for their young. Our children are precious, they are to be instructed about God and his ways, teaching them to begin their own relationship with God. Yet many parents cast them aside working for their own pleasures and gain. Sunday school reaches for these children and the love and prayers of our teachers make a huge difference in the lives of each child they touch-when they are old they will not depart from it. Keep reaching! Every child counts.

  17. God has purpose for everything. We don’t understand it and we won’t know why it was done that way. I know the Lord created everything and everything belongs to him. The trials and tests that Job was going through were done for a reason which he will not understand it will take him wisdom and knowledge to comprehend the works of God.

In Jobs situation Ge has no conte

  18. The Lord was asking Job if he knew how he, (God) takes care of his creation. With this, the Lord was letting Job know that He(God) was aware of his suffering. As I meditate on how jobs friend’s approached him, I noticed a contrast between Job’s friend’s & God’s approach towards Job. The Lord was simple. The result of that is that Job had a new understanding of who God is.

  19. Job 39 – 11 today’s English amp Bible verse is saying , Will you trust him because his stength is great, or to him will you leave your labor? God is asking alot of questions. And expects. His answers.

  20. 26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south.

Wisdom comes from God! God knows the end from beginning! Trust him!

    • 26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south.

Wisdom comes from God! God knows the end from beginning! Trust him!

  21. 9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10 Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

Will the animals do the work of the Lord when I fail to meet His requirements for me? Or will it lead me through the fields? Take control of your path. iGo

  22. “She is harsh toward her young, as if they were not her own. She doesn’t care if they die. For God has deprived her of wisdom. He has given her no understanding.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭39:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Is it at your command that the eagle rises to the heights to make its nest? It lives on the cliffs, making its home on a distant, rocky crag. From there it hunts its prey, keeping watch with piercing eyes.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭39:27-29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  23. 13“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the pinions and plumage of love? 14For she leaves her eggs to the earth and lets them be warmed on the ground

The ostrich mother is powerful and proud but she lacks wisdom. Though she labors and gives birth to her young she leaves them behind. A wise mother watches over their babies from predators.

The church births spiritual babies with baptism of the water and the Spirit. As a church we must minister unto those babies nuturing them milk until they can minister unto others.

  24. He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.(Job 39:22 KJV)
God’s creation was not designed to have fear. For God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. When we operate the way God intended like the horse we too are fearless and cannot be frightened away by the sword of the enemy.

  25. Verse 4 CEV says “Soon their young grow strong and then leave to be on their own.” Our job is to GrOw strong christian believers for God; so, that they will not depart from His ways.

Verses 13-18 talks about the Ostrich and how careless it can be at times. We cannot afford to have this mentality; but, rather have the mind set of Christ.

The last set of verses is captioned CEV “Did You Give Horses Their Strength?” Psalm 28:7 NLT says “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 121:2 NLT “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!”

  26. All I can say is He is God all by himself! So what makes us think we get to judge? He spoke it and it was created! He thought it and it became . He is the I am that I am… He is God all by himself.

  27. 26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

God continues to challenge Job making a clear distinction between God and man, His creation. Have you…? Can you…? Did you give… Only things that the Lord can do but lets Job know where his place is

  28. She lays her eggs on top of the earth, letting them be warmed in the dust. She doesn’t worry that a foot might crush them or a wild animal might destroy them. She is harsh toward her young, as if they were not her own. She doesn’t care if they die.
    Job 39:14‭-‬16 NLT

I’m glad to be part of a church that is not careless and takes care of it’s babies in Christ. It is our obligation and should be our passion to take care of those that are born again. Even though they might think that we bug them but we must show them that we care and we are there for them whenever they need us. That is ministry.

  29. The rock

28 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles they shall run, and not be weary and they shall walk, and not faint.

You can soar with the eagles but at some point you have to have a place to land, a strong place…. the rock! Christ Jesus, he’s the one that gives us the strength to soar, to mount up. Sometimes we only testify about the high times in our lives but we should testify more about the times when our strength is renewed by resting and waiting on the rock.

  30. Who Cares About The Babies?

“She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear; Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭39:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Let us not be like the peacock with our new believers. We labor for them. They are born of us, but then what? Do we just send them out into the world? Do we let them return to the ground to be trampled under foot by hr cares and worries of life? Do we act like they belong or do we just watch them stumbling around like orphans who have no one to watch after and care for them?

I believe that God has given us wisdom! I believe that we have people around who take these new births under their wing. Then they encourage and help them grow so they don’t get trampled under foot. They still need prayers. They still need guidance. They still need friends, but we are helpignhem with this growing process.

We are not like the ostrich. We watch after our babies. We help our babies get the help they don’t even realize they need.

  31. ““The [flightless] wings of the ostrich wave joyously; With the pinion (shackles, fetters) and plumage of love, For she leaves her eggs on the ground And warms them in the dust, Forgetting that a foot may crush them, Or that the wild beast may trample them. “She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers; Though her labor is in vain because she is unconcerned [for the safety of her brood],”
    ‭‭JOB‬ ‭39:13-16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

So thankful that we at POFW do not have in mind set an ostrich when it comes to our new believers. We believe they are WORTH FIGHTING FOR!

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  32. “He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting. Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south? Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭39:25-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  33. 13 Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

14 Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

15 And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

    16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her’s: her labour is in vain without fear;

17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

  34. 28 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

Build our life in the foundation Of God ( the strong place)

  35. 17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

WE CAN DO NOTHING WITHOUT GOD!!!

  36. With all our knowledge and learning – we are so insignificant.

The Bible tells us that God is so great that He is concerned about even the smallest part of His creation—including us. After all, God created everything in the universe—even the smallest sub-atomic particle or the tiniest living thing. He also made the laws that govern their existence. But if He knows all about them, isn’t it logical to assume that He also knows all about us? Of course He does. Jesus put it this way: “Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (Matthew 10:30).

  37. 27Is it at your command that the eagle rises to the heights to make its nest?

Yes, we all would like to be in command, but unfortunately we can’t. We have realize we have others in authority of power to make decisions for us. In our case we have God who can direct, lead and guide you in your daily walk with him.

  38. 14 She lays her eggs on the ground
and lets them warm in the sand,
15 unmindful that a foot may crush them,
that some wild animal may trample them.
    16 She treats her young harshly, as if they were not hers;
she cares not that her labor was in vain,

We can’t be an ostrich as a mother….we must protect our babies and spiritual babies. We must protect them with prayer, feed them the Word of God, and fight for them in fasting!!! We can’t expect our babies learn and do everything on their own but its all a process we have to teach them. I can say I grew up spiritually with an ostrich mother and had to learn many things on my own the hard way but by the grace of God I am here now and have a spiritual mother that truly cares about her babies. I know that even when the babies decide to leave she is still waring for them. Thank you Sis Watts for your prayers!!! Prayer is a powerful weapon. We must continue to pray for the lost and the prodigals!!! In Jesus Name!!!

  39. Job 28:12 But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?

Job 28:28 And he said to the human race, “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”

Solomon knew this very well. When asked by God to ask for anything he wanted, wholeheartedly he asked for wisdom and understanding. He knew, that they could not be found any where else.

His selfless request from God brought him more than what he wanted. That is the way God is, when we seek His kingdom first and His righteousness, everything else shall be added unto us.

So if you find yourself suffering in need, you need to check you search for His kingdom.

  40. If God never does another thing for us, is He still God? God has a way of waking us up and making us realize that there is more to life that problems that lie ahead. Ok satan you can test Job, but don’t hurt him, he’s my friend. Never will a rock cry out in my place, He’s worthy of all my praise.
