Psalm 20

1 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;

2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;

3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.

4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

  1. Thank you Jesus for a good message this pass Sunday by David Shatwell, thank you Lord for a good time for a friend of mines birthday party lets see what he has in mind the next time. Thank you Jesus Amen!

  2. Verses 6-8 CEV “I am certain, Lord, that you will help your chosen king. You will answer my prayers from your holy place in heaven, and you will save me with your mighty arm. Some people trust the power of chariots or horses, but we trust you, Lord God. Others will stumble and fall, but we will be strong and stand firm.” As we start our blog every day “JESUS today YOU will SAVE me (us)”…….and as last night’s service demonstrated, our trust is in you and our hands are cupped open to stand firm in a receiving posture to receive what you have for us. As we start small; but, think big!

Psalm 37:23-24 CEV “If you do what the Lord wants, he will make certain each step you take is sure. The Lord will hold your hand, and if you stumble, you still won’t fall.”

  3. “Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God. Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If other countries and religions can spend so much time offering sacrifices and worshiping their “gods” why is it so hard for us to find the time to boast in our God? For our God is alive and well, their “god” cannot provide salvation and healing like our God can! We cannot take for granted how great He is, because that is when we will begin to fall! Lord You are high and lifted up, thank You for Your greatness!

  4. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
Trust the Lord, Trust word of God, and trust the Man of God.
If you do this and put your trust in all of these then youll be okay. Everything will be okay. My God is a Mighty God and he can do all things!

  5. Psalms 20:1, “THE LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.”

    Psalms 41:1-2
    1) BLESSED is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
    2) The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

What a valuable lesson we learned from Bro. Shatwell last night.
If we consider the poor and have piety on the poor, God will hear us and deliver us in time of trouble, and we will be Blessed.

Thank You JESUS for Your Word.

  6. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Chariots and horse are no match to the name of Jesus! This statement alone should have us jumping and shouting. In time of war I trust in the saving name of Jesus. In times us peace I trust in the name of Jesus. It is all in the name.

  7. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

No matter the trial, we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Jesus, thank You for the supernatural miracles that are on their way. Jesus thank You for Your saving strength. Thank you for saving your anointed. Thank You for Your blessings. Thank You for helping us to put others needs above our own desires. We love You, LORD. Thank You

  8. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

Our GOD bring strength and power rejoice for the lord is great he is always fighting for us he blessing us when GOD start something he always finish it

    THANK U JESUS!!!!!

  9. 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
5 May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. NIV

As we heard spoken last night from Bro. Shatwell and Pastor shout over your victory and also shout over your brother and sister getting a victory. We will not get our victory if we are going to get upset and have a pity party cause our brother or sister got a blessing and we didn’t, but after last night service I believe we are going to have blessings coming into POFW!!!!
    Let’s praise him!

  10. iLove to Go Blog
Psalms 20:5 KJV  We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. The word “Salvation” is the following definition.
    יְשׁוּעָה
    yeshû‛âh
    yesh-oo’-aw
Feminine passive participle of H3467; something saved, that is, (abstractly) deliverance; hence aid, victory, prosperity: – deliverance, health, help (-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare.

Salvation is a tremendous word that covers body, soul, and spirit. Salvation covers a person completely. No matter if you need the Holy Ghost, if you need a mental break through, or if you need a healing in your body. Salvation covers everything we need. Even the Hebrew word for “Salvation” covers everything. The word is “Yeshuah”. Translated into English it is “Jesus”. Boom

  11. God’s people pray for there king as he prepares for battle reassuring the ruler who trust in the saving power of God .
    Intercession prayer
1-5. Even The godly David sensed his need for the prayer support of.his people . Every wise Christian leader teams for similar reinforcement from his congregation

  12. Psalms 20:7 (KJV Strong’s)

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

It doesn’t matter how big the army is, what weapons they possess, what words they can speak, and what power they have, God will always be more powerful, bigger, and greater than anything our adversary can throw at us.

President John F Kennedy said that “the only thing to fear is fear itself”

The enemy wants us to forget who we are and start listening to the voice of fear. Yet we will trust in the name of the Lord our God.

We don’t have to worry, fret, or carry anxiety. All we need to do is call on the name of the Lord!

    Joel 2:32 (KJV Strong’s)

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered:
for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance,
    as the Lord hath said,
and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

  13. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Jesus name sets us apart. While people are relying more on science, technology, and other advancements we remember the name of our Lord. THere is power in his name! Hallelujah! JEsus will save us!

  14. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Trust not in the Worley things that the Enemy will tempt you with.Jesus is our healer, protector, and savior. When we put our trust in him everything we do will smooth itself out. Money issues resolved, physical issues resolved, and etc. Thank you Jesus! I will praise you!

  15. The Trust Fund
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

In thee Oh Lord do I put my trust. I lean on You and not my own understanding. You are my all and all. There is know one else like You. Trust is a difficult thing when you have been wounded. Friends say trust me. The banker says trust me, the real estate agent says trust me, your boss says trust me and even the man of God says trust me. I have learned that when we put our life into the Trust Fund of God He delivers what He says He will. I have also learned that there are real people you can trust. I am hear to say that if anyone thinks they cannot trust our Pastor and first Lady come speak to me. They have proven theirselves to me over and over. In a world of chaos and confusion we have to trust God and we have to trust the man of God. So why not join the TRUST Fund and watch the benefits you will reap. Yes I will trust in the Name of the Lord and those who are my leadership!

  16. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

Hallelujah, my God saves! We’ve seen so many saved in this last weekend alone how could we not rejoice?! Let all that we do be in the Name of Jesus!

  17. 5 When you win, we plan to raise the roof and lead the parade with our banners.
May all your wishes come true!

Just like what Bro. Shatwell said we need to rejoice with others when they receive their blessings, miracles, and victory! Celebrate what the Lord has done for other lives and yours! Praise him for being your foundation, praise him for pulling you out of hardship, and praise him for hearing and answering prayers when you put faith and trust in him! Thank you Lord for hearing me and others! Lord I will rejoice with my whole heart unto you!

  18. This may sound a little of but we have a beautiful girl in our church family named Selah so when I held her in my hands I decided I wanted to know the meaning of her name. While must theology dictionaries interpret it as a moment of silence, calm, or end, there was one definition that as I read verse # 3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. It becomes clear to me that this definition applies – Selah is defined as a Hebrew word that has been found at the ending of verses in Psalms and has been interpreted as an instruction calling for a break in the singing of the Psalm or it may mean “forever.” An example of Selah is seeing the term used seventy-one times in the Psalms in the Hebrew Bible.
In my mind it works both way I will never forget the last Living Sacrifice for our sins our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ dying on the cross to save us all from our own selves, and He will never forget our sacrifices and offerings we give to His Kingdom. What a Good and Mighty God we Serve!!!!

  19. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

  20. GO IN JESUS NAME

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

We often find ourselves facing challenges or tough decisions. As we open our heart , mind, soul and spirit to receive instruction and direction for our future, we position ourselves for VICTORY through JESUS.

While the places confidence in men, organizations and governments, we the Church, the Body of Christ place our trust, confidence and FAITH in the name of the LORD JESUS.

Always REMEMBER whose side you are on and who is on your side. For this reason, EVERYTHING we DO, we DO in the Name of JESUS.

    As the apostle Paul stated:

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

    iGO in JESUS name
    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  21. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. 8 They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.

God is the only one we can truly put all our trust in. Man can let us down but God never will. Trusting in anything of this world will only disappoint us like chariots and horses because they can fall apart or die. With God we can stand tall on a sure foundation. Though the storms of life may come they cannot break us down if we stand with Jesus. Even if we fall we will rise again because he lifts us back up.

Micah 7:8 “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”

  22. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

It is too easy to get boggled down by the worries of this world and stress out over all the things we have going on, until we can set back and remind ourselves of the trust we have in Christ and in whom our salvation and worries really lie. That our father has all our cares in His hands.

  23. Psalm20:1 In today’s English amp Bible) Its telling me May The Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you on high( and defend you).So let’s go out and give to the poor and needy.

  24. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

In life it is easy to put our trust in man or in our possessions. We can easily do that because we have money or “things” but our “things” will not save us or deliver us from God. Our trust should be put into the Lord, and our confidence should be in Him.

  25. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

I choose to place my trust in God not in the things of this world, all earthly things are temporal but the thing of God is eternal life!

  26. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Our trust remains in the Lord. Many people by their actions trust in other things, but the Lord will hear and answer the prayers of those that seek Him diligent and this builds a trust within us that God has all in control and He is all that we have need of. Everything can be found in Him.

  27. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

My relationship with God seems to have changed in the past weeks, at one point trusting him was hard, hard, hard, but i kept praying and kept trusting, and praying, and reading, and so on, now I trust him more and more everyday, and every situation that arises it gets easier to just trust him, I dont just say oh well Lord i trust you! No, I say Lord im trusting in you with this situation, because im just gonna mess it up! and I cant do anything without you, ive proved that many time, right Lord? he probably rolled his eyes and shook his head, thats what most every one does, I do it too, but Bro Shatwell gave me something im gonna use till i go home.
ALL IS WELL! Bad situation arises, ALL IS WELL!

  28. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

I am learning more and more to trust in God and with that trust it is so much easier to seek him, because im getting to know him! Im getting to learn about him, and him me! I love that saying Brother Shatwell said about what the woman that laid the dead child on the prophets bed said…ALL IS WELL. If I trust God in every situation of Life, good, bad…ALL IS WELL

  29. We will sing joyously over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand.
    PSALM 20:5‭-‬6 AMP

I know that there are times where I feel the world crashing in. I will be victorious over it. GOD has been with me through the trials of the world: even before I knew whom He was in my life. Strongholds are falling and I’m still here. The enemy has no hold over me any more. He has been defeated in my life, family, and finances.

“Raise a signal flag on a bare hilltop. Call up an army against Babylon. Wave your hand to encourage them as they march into the palaces of the high and mighty.
    Isaiah 13:2 NLT

I will lift the banner high; to show the enemy that he has no power over me. God’s banner will always sail over me and be that guiding light; when I feel the darkness trying to overtake me.

Hebrews H5251: nes from H5264; a flag; also a sail; by implication a flagstaff; generally a signal; figuratively a token:– banner, pole, sail, sign, ensign, standard.

I will lift God’s vanner high

I will lift God’s banner high: even before I God. He has always been there; leading me and guiding me through the darkness. I serve an awesome God.

  32. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
We petition for lost souls. We reach out for those that are seeking you and helping them to answer who their God is. He hasn’t forsaken us. He helps in time of trouble and blesses our faith. Thank you Lord for the blessing. Thank you Jesus for your Holy Spirit and allowing all that find glory in you, rejoice with us. Thank you Lord for all of the people we have yet to reach and for their blessings.

  33. Psalms 20:6- 7 Now know I that the Lord saves his anointed, he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Trusting in the Lord is not always easy but it is the only way for a believer, because God is always on time. Trust in the Lord and lean not unto your own understanding.

  34. May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.
    Psalms 20:4 NLT

If we desire after God’s heart and seek His face God will be in all of our desires and plans because they will all be kingdom minded.

  35. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

Jesus has saved me more times than I could begin to count.

  36. The Lord will hear us in the time of trouble. If we continue to hold on to his unchanging hand, we can receive the blessings God has in store for us.

  37. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

We put our trust only in one. That’s in the lord.

  38. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Modern application would be, some trust in there Ability. The men that rode these weapons of war, were experienced and trained men. They could kill hundreds even thousands with there killer ability to maneuver around the battle field.

David’s ability to trust God in the mist of battle allowed him to take these dangerous men in battle. He was definitely one of the most versitle warriors in the battlefield.

  39. 4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

  40. 9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

Some people pray for good things like blessings or power or gifts. All those prayers are are great if God actually hears them. As we pray for the things that are important to us Brother Shatwell thought is to pray the things that are important to God. Then his ears are turned on and he will hear your prayer. There is nothing that will get someone’s attention better than talking about what they want to talk about. Let us pray what is important to Him.

  41. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Some trust in the material and physical things of this world, but the Christian has his trust in the Lord. What the people or things of this world can do are no match to the power found in God.

  42. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.(Psalms 20:5 KJV)

God gives us the victory in battle. We get to rejoice because he has saved us. He answers us when we come to him with a petition of need. We wave a banner in praise.

  43. “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, But we will remember and trust in the name of the LORD our God.”
    ‭‭PSALM‬ ‭20:7‬ ‭AMP‬‬

At times in our lives when we need a miracle we try to use things we already have such as “chariots and horses”. But in doing so we take away the miracle God had for us. During trials we must truly remember who God truly is. He is the Almighty!

All we have to do is allow Him to be the Almighty is our lives.

  44. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

    Putting God first!!!
Don’t put your house, cars, earthly thing before God.
Everything we have is because of Him. Put God in first place before anything.

  45. Some people trust in the strength of things around them. They hunk that people, places, or thugs are their strength, but the Lord! He is our strong tower. He is our victory. I will trust in the name of the Lord.

  46. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

  47. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Many trust in money, idols, women, men, parents, false gods, etc. However, I trust in the name above all names. The name of Jesus!!!! The name that has the power to do absolutely anything. Nothing is to hard for you Jesus!!! I know there has been many obstacles since I gave my life to you but you are a faithful God!!! This world has nothing that compares to you Jesus!!! I know you take care of me because I am your child. Thank you Jesus! In you I will always trust!!

  48. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

It wasn’t that long ago we were buried in the depths of Job’s complaining. Job checked his life to try and find a turning point that removed him from the protection of the Lord. He concluded he had done something to anger God and was suffering His wrath. While not many of us can claim we have been to the same depths as Job; I am sure we have all felt that God has forsaken us and left us to the wiles and ways of our enemies. It is a terrible feeling to think that God has forsaken us.

How can we so easily forget? We know that God does not abandon us. We know that every hair on our head is numbered. We know that know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. We know these things but we also turn too quickly to claim the Lord has forsaken me in my time of need. If God loves me so much why am I suffering?

  49. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

In the name of our God is the key phrase in God hearing and intervening in our situations. We must not trust in this arm of the flesh but rather call on the name of Jesus. We may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, but he is with us every step of the way. So when the situation looks bleak, we must encourage ourselves as David did and muster up the will to continue until he delivers. He hears our cry!

  50. 4 May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.

Just like this verse mentions, we all should have a vision for ourselves. We should make career goals on finances, work, school and retirement. God will ensure our plans succeed plus blessings on top of that.

  51. 6. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Thank you Jesus for saving me !!!!
