Psalm 115

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord‘s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

  1. Psalms 115:9-14
    9) O Israel, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
    10) O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
    11) Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
    12) The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
    13) He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
    14) The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

TRUST in the LORD, He is our Help and Shield.
He will be Mindful of us, and He will BLESS and INCREASE us, us and our children.

  2. O Israel, trust the Lord ! He is your helper and your shield. O priests, descendants of Aaron, trust the Lord ! He is your helper and your shield. All you who fear the Lord , trust the Lord ! He is your helper and your shield.
    Psalms 115:9‭-‬11 NLT

Let’s stop thinking about earthy things and start thinking about heavenly things what God has in store for us this world is not our home the LROD will bless those that love and trust in him

  3. Many in today’s world believe in gods that are not real. Verse 18 AMP says “But as for us, we will bless and affectionately and gratefully praise the Lord From this time forth and forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)”. Psalm 34:1 NLT says “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.” Let us praise and bless the Lord at all times POFW for this is our day and our time!

  4. 4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

Today we can give Glory to God because we serve The King of kings and Lord of lords! Other gods were made by man but we serve the Master craftsman! Men have great creative minds but God knows all, sees all, and exists before man. He created man . So, this morning I want to the world to know I serve the Master Craftsman not a second had man. 😉

The one I serve cannot be contained in the thoughts or minds of man but He exists through eternity and before eternity was formed.

  5. 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord‘s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

In ordered to blessed you have to Trust in God, you have to trust the man of God. I wasn’t brought here by accident but I was led here by the Holy Ghost. When you’re certain that it was God that pulled you out of the muck, the pits of hell like someone like me. It’s easy for me to be reminded what God has done. So I pray for the generation for a spiritual awakening, for the hearts to soften and receive the Gospel that will be preached to them.

  6. 2. Why should the nations ask, “Where is their God now?” Voice

We are not ashamed of our God. We can hide His Word in our hearts, but we must not try to contain Him, so let’s do as Bro. Mangun said last night and show off our God and His power!

Psalms 115:13-15 KJV  He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.  (14)  The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.  (15)  Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.

Wow, God is going to Bless those that fear the Lord both small and great. It is a promise from the Word of God. This is an amazing promise in the Word of God. The promise doesn’t end there, but says that God is going to bless our families as well. We all need to hang onto these precious promises that are written in the Word of God.

  8. 9 O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

Let it be known that our help comes from the LORD! HE will help is in our time of need. HE alone will protect us. We must put our trust in the only entity that can truly handle our situation.

  9. Our Hope Is In Him
12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

You have been mindful oh Lord. You are hearing my cries. You are daily blessing me.I will continually praise You and watch for there is no-one else like You. I will continually express your kindness and praise You. I will continually trust in You and Your wisdom. You will order my steps and You will hold me in the midst of my weaknesses. In You oh Lord I put my trust. Not in man, not in riches for these all will pass away. Men will fail but You God the true One are always faithful. You are God and You have all of this in your hands. Thank You for seeing and hearing. Thank You for already knowing how this story will end. You are the One who knows and I will trust You. Let my life reflect You and all that You are to me. Keep my mind in Your peace that the world around me will want to know more You.
    Your Strength Is Perfect

  10. 17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.
18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

I will not be silent and mistaken for dead, but I will bless the Lord and praise His name with a shout and dance at all times because He is good; and so long as His mercy endureth forever, I will praise Him forever! Lord let Your praise continually be in my mouth and upon my lips!

  11. 11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

  12. 13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

Fear the Lord, respect the Lord, God wants to bless us, but we need to do our part! The truth isn’t enough! Serving isn’t enough, its been forever since ive felt like im in love with Jesus, I love him! But am I in love with him? That is what I told him today, Lord I need to get back to where I first got the Holy Ghost, that excitement, that FIRE, I couldn’t wait to pray, I would get up early so I could, I didn’t car about what others were doing, I didnt wait on anyone, I had a made up mind! I remember I was in Love, I miss that ! I need to be consumed by your word by your thoughts by your Love, I nee to get back to my first love! And the only way to do that is to consume his word! Because this blog isn’t enough! I need more! And I have it! If i need more its up to me to get more! I cant live off of the Sunday’s and Wednesdays! I NEED MORE! Im going to GO GET MORE!
It was awesome to see Pastor getting fed! They are a great Team with the Love of Jesus, it is evident they are in love with Jesus!

  13. Josiah: 17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.
18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.
The Lord is our God: the only true God. He is a God that can hear and see His people. He is not an idol made from man’s hands. The Lord is our God, and our Lord, and our King, and our Savior. He is worthy of all praise for He alone died for our sins. So, let us GO PRAISE the LORD. “17 The dead praise not the Lord…” but, the Bible says in the last verse of psalms “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” So, while we still have breath let us GO PRAISE the Lord. PRAISE THE LORD FOR HE IS WORTHY! THANKYOU JESUS! HALLELUJAH!

  14. GO IN BLESSING

    Fear and Trust are not normally used together in the same application. However, understanding the word “Fear” to mean respect, awe and obey the LORD. This makes the word “Trust” more applicable;

The connection of “Fear” “Trust” and “Bless” is fruitful and favorable. If my BLESSING is connected to my FEAR of the LORD and TRUST in the LORD. Then my focus should be on those 2 areas of FAITH in GOD.

As we GO into the streets, marketplaces and places of employment each day, we are WISE to GO IN BLESSING, as we GO with Fear and Trust. GOD will give us Favor.

  15. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased

But that the Lord is our God, we shall all perish, it is until God we give glory . We need to be mindful of when God lifts us up that we always know the foundation that we stand on lest we fall because we foolishly believe we did it and try to take glory

  16. 11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

Trust in the Lord and fear (healthy respect) of the Lord are key to his blessings. God cannot lie and will do what he said he would do. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 1:7

  17. 2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

How we handle adversity is very important. People are watching. Can we still exhibit faith and trust in the Lord when we are in the midst of a trial we don’t understand?

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

If we truly “trust” the Lord, then we must trust that all things are working for our good, regardless of the trial we face.

  18. 1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

Not everyone who tries to deceive God like Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5 drops dead on the spot. Not everyone who fails to give God glory like Herod is eaten by worms. God has brought such judgments upon some to warn us all that there is a judgment coming. The Bible details the goal of our lives should be to behave so that God gets the glory. We should strive to live so that men will see our life and give God the glory, not us. So it should be very clear that glorifying God is not merely an act of worship on Sunday. It is a way of life.

In order for God to get glory from the way we live, we must be engaged in the work of the Kingdom. It is not so much avoiding sins that we glorify Him but rather in the pursuit of good deeds, acts of generosity, works of kindness and displays of love. We should not be surprised when we read Ephesians 2:10: “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good deeds, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Created for his glory, and created for good deeds, because it is by our good deeds that God gets glory.

  19. 2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

As humans, we use our 5 senses-taste, touch, smell, seeing, hearing, to enjoy the world around us. This is how we know if something tastes sour, if a flower smells good. What a soft blanket feels like. What a grand orchestra sounds like, and what a beautiful sunset looks like.
Because of this, it is hard for someone who relies on there senses to make since of God. God is so much more that the 5 senses. You must believe and have faith that God is real.
In our world today, idolatry runs rampant due to the 5 senses. We as humans want to be able to see, touch, smell, hear, and taste the gods around us. Now with that being said, We can do this with God. We feel His Presents, we hear His voice, see His works, we smell is artwork, we taste the fruits of his creation. OUR GOD is the God who made the 5 senses.
Young People- we must believe and receive that God is here and with us. #GODOSOMETHING

  20. “All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield. The Lord remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭115:11-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  21. 1: Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
but to your name goes all the glory
for your unfailing love and faithfulness.

    Unfailing Love.
There aren’t many in this world that won’t let you down, however I know a God who has true unfailing love.

Psalm 25:10 The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.

Genesis 32:10 I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me, your servant. When I left home and crossed the Jordan River, I owned nothing except a walking stick. Now my household fills two large camps!

  22. 1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

For all the glory is due to the of Jesus, not to us. This is important, because without his mercy and his truth we would be nothing. So unto him I give all the glory. From the hands and head he made to the feet he created, they where made to give him praise. I pray I am never like Eli and his sons stealing from God and the consequences of those actions but instead give all the praise glory offering and honor due his name

  23. 1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

Who are we the You are mindful of us? For it is not us who has created the heavens and the earth, it is not us who has forgiven sin, yet You are still mindful of us, gracious to bless us and faithful to call us Your own! And for that alone You are worthy to be praised!

2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

There are people out there calling us crazy for what they know about us, but what if instead of just knowing about us, they knew about our God? As long as we stay silent they will only ever know us by our “strange” beliefs, but if they got to know The One who started it all maybe then they too would catch the revelation of His greatness! The more and more we speak about Him everywhere we go the more and more He will add to the church! Let’s GO take this city for the cause of Jesus Christ!

  24. 1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

All glory be to God!! This Psalm is a reminder again that He will provide! HE will bless His children! Give all glory to Him and trust that He will bring you through. Our God is perfectly faithful! For this we can praise His name!! We need to be sure that in all we do we do not treat God as a vending machine for our needs; we shouldnt just be going to Him when we only need something. He is God and we should hold Him in reverence and bless His name continually! Truly with God all things are possible so we should always give Him the glory for what He does in our lives, for the things He allows us to go through to grow closer to Him!! Praise His name!

  25. 1 Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

Blessed be the name of the Lord! It’s all your doing God, it’s all your glory and honor! Let not my praise be silent and dead but be loud and give all to you! I won’t care what this world may think or say because one day they will become of their gods and I will go and praise my One True Living God! Thank you Lord for all you do! I put my trust in you Lord for you are my shield and protector and I thank you Lord! Hallelujah God! All glory and honor to You! What a mighty God we serve!

  26. 11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

We see several reminders that God helps and protects those that fear him.  Fear him in the sense of respect, honor, reverence, and be in awe off.  However I see written several times, TRUST him ye that fear Him.  We can be fearful and give our respectful reverence to him without fully surrendering your full confidence of your life to Him.  We are told he is mindful of us.  And the difference is made between a created god that has no power and so are the people that make and believe in them, and the God who created everything, the heavens and the earth.  Believe in the reliability, truth, ability, and strengthen off is one of the definitions of trust.  The only thing is that trust requires situations in which your hands and power are out of the equation and only time will tell what the outcome will be.  The beginning of this chapter starts,
” 1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.”
We cannot build ourselves a god of us.  So it is only in situations out of our reach that God can  show himself to us.
He will bless us small and great but we must give him something to bless.  Trust him ye that fear the Lord.  Trust him with your health, first him with your finances, trust him with your time, trust him with your difficult situation and while you wait offer Him praise.

  27. 17 The dead cannot sing praises to the LORD, for they have gone into the silence of the grave.

Yes the dead can’t be heard, because they are deceased. Even the living can’t praise God. To God the unrighteous are silent also because they intentionally ignore God. It’s up to us, to awaken them, so they can praise/worship God and be heard by God.

  28. I LOVE TO WORSHIP THE LORD
The psalmist ridicules Israels trust in idols and calls passionately for return to faith in the Lord. Recommitment to God will surely bring blessing
    vs:17-18
The dead cannot sing praises to Jehovah here on earth but we can We praise him for ever Hallelujah PRAISE THE LORD

  29. GO GET MORE:

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

    Man what an awesome word last night. I need to get back to my first love. I need to fill my life with Jesus; get completely caught up in His word and put my eyes on His kingdom. I need not worry about things of the world and how men see me, but focus on how God sees me. I need to get that FEAR and TRUST back in place. I can’t lead my home if I’m not focused on what God has for me and my family. Like my wife said I need MORE. Sundays and Wednesdays are not enough. I have what I need; now it is time for me and my family to GO GET MORE. I want people to see Jesus in me. Thank you Jesus;

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through him who gives me strength.

  30. The Lord is our help and our strength. There is never a need for us to fear as long as God is in our side. We can stand boldly against everything the enemy throws our way. I will rejoice in the Lord for he is great and greatly to be praised.

  31. In everything God allows us to be a part of in his kingdom, let us remember, ‘Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.’ We recognize the glory belongs to him and that he shares that glory with none… therein lies the path of pride, but notice what else the psalmist mentions: for thy truth’s sake. His mercy is perhaps obvious and expected, but what part does our acknowledgement of God’s hand in our lives do for his truth?

His truth was given that we might be saved! The Bible declares that the secret things being to the Lord our God but those things which have been revealed belong to us and our children forever that we may do according to all that is written therein! The truth shall make you free! When it does, your testimony and perspective can allow that truth to be seen by someone else.. we are an epistle that is read of all men. When things go well, do they see our good fortune or do they see our good God? If we don’t acknowledge his blessings upon our life how will they ever have the opportunity to recognize what God has done for us?

The psalmist declares the very blessings of Goshen himself! ‘He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great. The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.’ When that blessing comes, give God the glory before all that others might be blessed as well! Don’t just believe in the truth, live the truth, proclaim the truth, allow the truth to so shine forth in our lives that those in the world cannot help but see God through us!

  32. I live to praise him

17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

Sin brings forth death. Whenever you feel yourself seemingly unable to praise, you just have to repent. When you put the sin in its place then your praise will be loosed. The pride of a man keeps him from repenting but the joy of the lord that comes afterward is worth laying your pride down. The dead cannot praise him so praise him and live.

  33. 2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

Reading this reminded me of those who believe and study the Big Bang Theory and Evolution. “Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.” Everything we know about evolution and the Big Bang is of study from scientists. They believe they’ve figured out how this life came to be with the work of their own minds and hands instead believing the Word of God. The discoveries scientists have made seem of much value to many people in our current society. Believing that this is where we come from. It’s funny how some will say we believe in nothing but fairy tales. Yet, scientists “discovered” we received life from “special rain” that fell from the sky and landed on rocks billions of years ago. They literally believe we came from a pile of rocks. And how do they know this? Were they there? Did they travel back in time to see it? Of course not. That “discovery” sounds more like a fairy tale to me than the Word of God. The Bible is from Jesus Himself. It’s truth, saves lives, and offers hope and salvation. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. So let’s follow Him and fulfill His will.

  34. To have truth and not cherish it and appreciate it. Lprd dony let us take your wprd for granted!

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

  35. 12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

Gods blessing is absolute and without prejudice. He blesses us not because we deserve it or are better than someone else but because he is good and loves to give good gifts to his children. We in turn should bless others and share the kindness that God has given us!

  36. So many times people seek after their idols that they begin to act like them too. They can never t hear the Spirit of the Lord because they have become clouded by their worship of these things. I believe that is is why in the new testimenrt it is repeatedly said if you have ears to hear and eyes to see that you should hear and see.

The only way that we are going to change to hearing and seeing is to stop seeking after other gods and seek after our one true king, Jesus!

  37. Psalm 115:12-13 (English Amp)The Lord has been mindful of us, He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel, He will bless the house of Arron the priesthood, He will bless those who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord, Both small and great. GOD has been so good to us even we dont deserve it. He loves us so much. I will worshipfully fear God and praise him with my whole heart .Just hang on to the promises of God for others and there children. Just wait and see what Jesus will do for you, ( Hallelujah).

  38. 17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence

The heathen has put their trust into the things they can control and make with their own hands. They make gods and idols of something that cannot speak, see or feel. We are to worship the one who created us. This is why God calls turning away from him adulterous because he is Israel’s first love. Worshiping anything other than God will harden hearts to a death spiritually and if they don’t turn back to God before they physically die will die lost. This is why we are called to reach out to a dying generation so they don’t die dead in Spirit but on fire for Jesus. Better to burn for Jesus than burn in hell.

  39. He will bless them that fear the Lord , both small and great.
    Psalms 115:13 KJV

It doesn’t matter if a person is young or old, male or female, size or shape. God loves each and every child of his. He will bless those who fear and obey him with blessings to us both small and great.

  40. 1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
